POTTSTOWN, Pa. - John E. Miller, of Pottstown, died Saturday, June 7, 1997, in Pottstown Memorial Hospital.
Surviving are two sons, John and James Miller, both of Pottstown; a daughter, Dorothy Miller, Pottstown; one brother, James L. Miller, Pottstown; and three sisters, Elizabeth Stein and Kathleen Mauger, Pottstown; and Gloria Haubenstein, Cumberland.
Services will be conducted at the Houck Funeral Home, Pottstown, on Thursday, June 12, 1997, at 11 a.m.
JOHN CLAIR MOON
LEESBURG, Fla. - John Clair Moon, 69, of 600 Yorktown Drive, Leesburg, formerly of River Road, Westernport, died Saturday, April 19, 1997.
Born April 10, 1928, in Grove City, Pa., he was the son of the late Thomas and Mary Alice (Gilliland) Moon.
Mr. Moon retired in 1983 as an illustrator with the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. He attended Morrison United Methodist Church, Leesburg. He was a member of American Legion Victory Post No. 155, and VFW Post of Wildwood. He graduated from Strayers Business School of Washington, D.C.
Surviving are his wife, Marilyn Jean (Myers) Moon; one stepdaughter, Susan Norris, Orlando; one stepson, Robert Monette, Phoenix, Ariz.; five stepsisters; four step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; a nephew, Steve Cone and wife Kay, Mount Airy, Md.; and many cousins.
At Mr. Moon's request, his body was cremated.
Memorial services will be held at the Barton United Methodist Church, Barton, Md. on Wednesday, May 21, 1997, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. John Park officiating.
A private burial will be held at Philos cemetery, Westernport, Md.

JOSEPHINE M. MOON
CUMBERLAND - Josephine M. Moon, 87, of Cumberland, died Thursday, April 24, 1997, at the Devlin Manor Nursing Home.
Born July 15, 1909, in Garrett, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Blaine and Nellie (Wills) Leonard. She also was preceded in death by her husband George Kenneth Moon.
Mrs. Moon was Protestant by faith.
Surviving are her daughter, Anna Mae Robertson, Cumberland; one grandson, Kenneth Robertson and wife Lois, Cumberland; a sister-in-law, Mary Jane Leonard, Edinburg, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the George-Upchurch Funeral Home, 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 a.m.
Interment will be in Davis Memorial cemetery.

EDMUND L. MANGES
BEDFORD, Pa. - Edmund Lee Manges, 69, of Bedford, formerly of Hyndman, Pa., died Sunday, Oct. 12, 1997, at the Memorial Hospital of Bedford County.
Born July 17, 1928, at Central City, Pa., he was a son of the late Edmund Greaf Manges and L. Erna (Shroyer) Manges.
On May 12, 1995, at Winchester, Va., he married
the former Vanessa J. Kring, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Greg E. Manges and wife Barbara, R.D. 1, Roaring Springs, Pa., two daughters, Kathie L. Hansen and husband Paul, Bedford, and Stacey J. Lepley and husband Robert, R.D. 1, Bedford; five grandchildren; a sister, Kay Mueller, Hyndman; and a brother, Paul E. Manges, Gaithersburg.
Mr. Manges retired in 1990 as a car salesman for Hyndman Auto Sales in Bedford. He served with the U.S. Army from 1947 to 1948.
He was a member of Yeager Memorial Lutheran Church, Rainsburg, Pa.
Mr. Manges was an active community volunteer and an avid airplane pilot. He was a member and past president of the Bedford Kiwanis Club and the Bedford Lions Club; a member of the Board of Directors of the Bedford Chapter of the American Cancer Society; and a member of the Bedford Air Industrial Authority; Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 400 of Martinsburg; Fort Bedford Antique Auto Club; Queen City Region Antique Auto Club; Everett Lodge #524, F & AM; Ali Ghan Shrine Club; and the Harrisburg Consistory.
Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. John F. Sammel officiating. Interment will be in Lybarger cemetery, Buffalo Mills, Pa.
A Masonic Funeral Service will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. by the Everett Lodge #524, F & AM.

MICHAEL M. MARKS
FLINTSTONE - Michael M. Marks, 83, of National Pike, Flintstone, died Sunday, June 15, 1997 in Memorial Hospital.
Born on Oct. 30, 1913, in Marianna, Pa., he was the son of the late Jake and Julia Marks. He also was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Mr. Marks was a retired Captain from the United States Marine Corps with 21 years of service. He served in World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion Post 13, Honorary Member of East Gate Lodge 216 A.F. & A.M., Scottish Rite Freemasonry 32 Cumberland Consistory, Sudan Temple in New Bern, N.C., an associate member of the Ali Ghan Shrine Club, and attended Flintstone Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife Audrey I. Simmons Marks; two daughters, Mildred Higgins, Great Falls, Va., and Marcia Marks, Germantown; two sisters, Virginia Ferri and Kathryn Violante, both of Peoria, Ariz.; a brother, Vern Marks, Erie, Pa., six grandchildren, Marlene Zusman, Renee Edmonds, Brandon Higgins, Marcus Goodman, Brok Armstrong, and Brett Armstrong; and two great-grandchildren, Brenna Colountuna and Nadav Zusman.
Friends will be received at the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary, 1302 National Highway, LaVale, on Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Fred Iser officiating.
Interment will follow in Maryland State Veterans cemetery at Rocky Gap. Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by combined veterans organizations.

MARGARET J. PETENBRINK
WELLERSBURG, Pa. - Margaret J. Petenbrink, 77, of Wellersburg, died Friday, July 18, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born November 11, 1919, in Meyersdale, she was a daughter of the late Milton A. and Mary E. (Christner) Shuck. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton E. Petenbrink; and a sister, Wauneta Boyce.
Mrs. Petenbrink was a member of Mount Carmel Lutheran Church, White Oak.
Surviving are a son, Richard E. Petenbrink, Wellersburg; a daughter, Joyce M. Baker, Newark, Del.; three grandchildren, Rex E. Baker, Krissann Witt, and Richard Petenbrink Jr.; six great-grandchildren, Shannon Baker, Jerry Witt, Freddie Witt, Jr., Rex Baker, Jr., Brandon Witt, and Jillian Baker; a brother, Karl Shuck, Wellersburg; three sisters, Bernice Housel, Wellersburg, Ada Briskey and Pauline Nider, both of Meyersdale.
Friends will be received at the Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 2 p.m. with Pastor Randall Marburger and Mr. Larry Hoover officiating.
Interment will be in White Oak cemetery.
EVELYN B. MAY
HYNDMAN, Pa. - Evelyn Blanche ``Lena" May, 92, of Venice, Fla., formerly of Hyndman, died Friday, April 4, 1997, at Bon Secours-Venice Nursing Care Center, Venice.
Born July 4, 1904, at Hyndman, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Emma (Sheirer) Holler. She also was preceded in death by her husband, John S. May, on Sept. 3, 1977; a grandson; and a great-grandson.
Surviving are five sons, Howard J. May, RD 1, Buffalo Mills, Thomas S. May, Church Road, Va., Harry W. May, Venice, Carl O. May, Hyndman, and Donald N. May, RD 1, Buffalo Mills; a daughter, Wanda J. Gage, South Casco, Maine, and Venice; 18 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 2 p.m. with Mr. Anthony Stair officiating.
Interment will be in the Madley cemetery.
