ANNA P. LICHTY
SALISBURY, Pa. - Anna Pauline Lichty, 84, of 140 Grant Street, Salisbury, died Monday, Oct. 20, 1997, at Meyersdale Medical Center.
Born May 6, 1913, at Boynton, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Carrie (Engle) Vought.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ira C. Lichty in 1980; two brothers, Ralph and Sam Vought; and a sister, Margaret Schrock.
Mrs. Lichty was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Salisbury; and she was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by four sons, Ira K. Lichty, Jr. and wife, Marla A., Richard L. Lichty and wife, Sandra K., and Rodney D. Lichty and wife, Brenda L., all of Salisbury, and Paul E. Lichty and wife, Sharon L., Cumberland; a brother, Paul Vought, Summit Mills, Pa.; five grandchildren, Jamie Lichty and wife, Julie, David Lichty, Jessica Lichty, Kristin Lichty, and Daniel Lichty; and a great-grandson, Samuel Lichty.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted on Thursday in the funeral home at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Raymond Brown officiating.
Interment will be in Salisbury cemetery.
EARL C. LOGSDON
HYNDMAN, Pa. - Earl Calvin Logsdon, 92, of RD 1, Hyndman, died Saturday, May 10, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md.
Born Sept. 6, 1904, near Hyndman, he was a son of the late Moses and Ellen (Emerick) Logsdon.
He also was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha M. (Kirchner) Logsdon, on Feb. 18, 1985; two sons, Earl D. Logsdon and infant Raymond Logsdon; a stepson, Harry Deneen; and a stepdaughter, Evelyn Deneen.
Mr. Logsdon was a retired laborer and coal miner.
He also had been employed at the B&O; shops in Cumberland.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 245, Cumberland.
He will be sadly missed by his family.
Surviving are his daughter, Martha E. Merkel, with whom he resided; a son, Melvin W. Logsdon and wife Catherine, Chambersburg; a stepson, Carl Deneen and wife Helen, RD 1, Hyndman; two grandsons he raised, Melvin Logsdon Jr., RD 1, Buffalo Mills, and Clay Logsdon Sr., Hyndman; 22 other grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Lannie Seese.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Edward Shockey officiating.
Interment will be in the Comps cemetery.
DONLEY C. LOGUE
HYNDMAN, Pa. - Donley C. Logue, 81, of Hyndman, died Monday, Sept. 8, 1997, at his home.
Born March 15, 1916, in Hyndman, he was a son of the late Charles and Florence (Fluke) Logue.
Mr. Logue also was preceded in death by his brothers, Elmer, Lawrence, Charles and Paul Logue.
He married
Grace Sylvia Albright on March 28, 1937.
She survives along with a son, Donley C. Logue, Jr., wife Marianne (Deist) of Manns Choice, RD 1; twin daughters Beth Glencoe and husband John, and Nan Kennedy and husband Donald, all of Hyndman RD 1; three brothers, John Logue, Frostburg, Walter Logue, Bedford, Pa., and Ray Logue, Ellerslie; two sisters, Helen Ponist, Coalport, Pa., and Mary Lou Knight, Atlanta, Ga.; and six grandchildren.
Mr. Logue retired after 35 years from The Kelly-Springfield Tire Company in Cumberland where he was employed as a Supervisor.
He was a member of the Hyndman First United Methodist Church.
Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the Hyndman First United Methodist Church on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Roger Johnson and the Rev. Julia Applegate officiating.
Viewing at the church will be held before the service from 10:30 to 11 a.m.
Interment will be in Hyndman cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions should be made to the Hyndman First United Methodist Church or the Hyndman Area Health Center.
ALBERT G. LARSON
FAIRHOPE, Pa. - Albert George "Ab" Larson, 62, of Fairhope, died unexpectedly Friday, Oct. 31, 1997, at his home.
Born Aug. 14, 1935, in Fairhope, he was a son of the late George J. and Violet M. (Emerick) Larson. He also was preceded in death by a brother, Emanuel Larson; and two sisters, Lulu Belle Mangus and Betty Jane Pensyl.
Surviving are two brothers, Charles C. Larson, Minneapolis, Minn., and Ralph R. Larson, McConnellsburg; three sisters, Henrietta V. Leydig, Fairhope, Eileen C. Emerick, Fairbanks, Alaska, and Patricia A. Miller, Stoystown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Larson retired this year with 28 years of employment at Snyder's of Berlin.
He had served for 20 years as a fire warden for the Pennsylvania Bureau of Forestry, and was a member of Fairhope Community Church.
Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Bradley Reider and the Rev. Daniel Leister officiating.
Interment will be in Kammerer cemetery near Fairhope.
JUDD R. LANDIS SR.
MEYERSDALE, Pa. - Judd Ray Landis Sr., 62, of Meyersdale, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 1997.
Born Feb. 24, 1934, in Brothersvalley Township, he was a son of Ruby (Dively) Landis, of RD 3, Berlin, and the late Judd A. Landis.
Mr. Landis was a 27-year store manager for the A&P; Store.
He was the owner of Crowe's Market for six years, and was a retired employee of Lincoln Contracting.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church; Meyersdale Moose Lodge; and Meyersdale Elks Lodge, and was a life member of the Meyersdale Volunteer Fire Department.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his widow, the former Mary Alice Ohler; children, Judd R. Jr., Bedford, Diane M. Landis and Deborah Dilbon, both of Meyersdale, and Vicky Shumaker, Duncanville; and nine grandchildren.
Mr. Landis was a brother of John Foor, Herkimer, N.Y., William Landis, RD 1, Glencoe, Stanton, Gary and Edward Landis, RD 3, Berlin, Judy Cook, Arlington, Va., Sally Faidley, Sipesville, Sharon Faidley and Barbara Landis, both of RD 3, Berlin.
Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Zion Lutheran Church on Sunday from 2 to 3 p.m.
Services will be held at the church on Sunday at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Randall Marburger and the Rev. Ralph Landis officiating.
The Leckemby Funeral Home, Meyersdale, is in charge of arrangements.
The family suggests that contributions be made to the Zion Lutheran Church Memorial Fund in his name.
THOMAS R. KAHL
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - Thomas R. Kahl, 62, died Tuesday, April 1, 1997.
Born Dec. 24, 1934, in Johnstown, Pa., he was the son of the late Robert and Alice (Raab) Kahl.
He also was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Hahn, August 5, 1993, and one brother, Robert J., Jr.
Surviving are his wife, Susann Jameson, State College; one son, John Edward, Atlanta, Ga.; one daughter, Marie Hahn Rauter, Morris Township, N.J.; one sister, Mary Alice Margolis, Baltimore, MD; one brother William H., Washington, D.C.; and one grandson, Thomas Edward, Atlanta, Ga.
