ROBERT K. LOUGHRY
Robert K. Loughry, 72, of Sarasota, Fla., died Thursday, March 9, 2000, in the Sarasota Memorial Hospital. He was born Dec. 23, 1927, in Greensburg, a son of the late George and Florence Best Loughry. Prior to retirement, he had been employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad and later as an administrator for Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Pittsburgh. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, and fleet Marine during World War II. He was a member of the Westmoreland Lodge #518 F.& A.M., Greensburg, the Tebala Shrine of Rockford, Ill., the Sahib Temple in Sarasota and was a graduate of St. Vincent College, Latrobe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers , Homer `Bud' Loughry and James E. Loughry. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Barbara (Wike) Loughry; two sons , R. Lance Loughry and Philip A. Loughry, both of Rockford, Ill.; a brother, Rush M. Loughry, of Rockford; two sisters , Mary Lou Cook of Rockford, and Judith Iris Hart of Spokane, Wash.; several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 516 Stanton at Green streets, Greensburg, Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. only. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. with the Rev. Robert A. Free officiating. Interment will follow in the Westmoreland County Memorial Park. Family suggests memorial contributions to the Westmoreland Hospice, 532 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, PA 15601. The Westmoreland Lodge #518 F&AM will meet at the funeral home Tuesday at 7 p.m. to conduct a Masonic service.

Catherine Louise Swink Miller, 58, of Connellsville (Bullskin Township), died Saturday, March 11, 2000. Friends will be received in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 E. Green St., Connellsville, Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Additional viewing will take place Wednesday in the Mt. Olive Evangelical Church of North America from 10 to 11 a.m., the hour of funeral services in the church with the Rev. Robert Williams and the Rev. Robert Patton co-officiating. Interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville.
WILLIAM W. OAKS
William W. Oaks, 86, of New Derry, died Sunday, March 12, 2000, in Latrobe Area Hospital. He was born Oct. 29, 1913, in Clearfield County, a son of the late George W. and Ella Owens Oaks. He was employed by the Penn Central Transportation Co. Railroad, where he had worked as an engineer, retiring in 1975. He was a life member of the Twin Maples Club. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers , Elmer, Ralph and Ellis; and two sisters , Mabel Yeager and Emma Miller. He is survived by his wife, Rose D. McCurdy Oaks, whom he married July 5, 1948; two sons , George Edward and his wife, Joyce Oaks, of Niles, Ohio, and Roger Allen and his wife, Sharon Oaks, of New Derry; a sister, Irene Johnson of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a granddaughter, Mrs. Jeremy (Jennifer) Ehrmann; and several nieces and nephews. Friends were received Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the McCABE FUNERAL HOME, 300 W. Third Ave., Derry, where funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor William H. Weppelman officiating. Interment will follow in Blairsville Cemetery.
JOANN PLUMMER
JoAnn Plummer, 65, of Derry RD1, died Saturday, March 11, 2000, in Latrobe. She was born May 19, 1934, in Ruffsdale, a daughter of Harriet Moore Shawley of Greensburg RD and the late Ray Shawley. She was a member of St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church of Youngstown and had been a veterinarian technician for Lakeview Animal Clinic for 45 years. Besides her Father , she was preceded in death by a brother, Wiles "Bud" Shawley; and a sister, Marion Uncapher. In addition to her mother , she is survived by her husband, James R. Plummer, whom she married June 20, 1955; three daughters , Sara "Sally" Shawley of Greensburg RD5, Mrs. Felix (Janice) Reffo of Manassas, Va., and Mrs. Len (DeAnn) Krotz of Loyalhanna; two sons : James D. and his wife, Lori, and Jerry R. and his wife, Gina Plummer, all of Latrobe; a brother, Ray Shawley of North Huntingdon; four sisters , Mrs. Richard (Lois) Moon of Youngstown, Pa., Mrs. Eugene (Valera) Uncapher of Latrobe RD2, Mrs. Leo (Susan) Henry of Latrobe, and Mrs. Roger (Lenita) Lenhart of Ligonier RD4; six grandchildren, Richard, Trishtine, Tori, Bradley, Katelyn and Anthony; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends were received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the McCABE FUNERAL HOME, 300 W. Third Ave., Derry. Additional viewing at St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m., at which time funeral services will be conducted with her pastor, the Rev. David vonSchlichten, officiating. Interment will follow in Coles Cemetery, Derry.
SONYA K. (RUSH) RUPERT
Sonya K. (Rush) Rupert, 48, of Greensburg, died Saturday, March 11, 2000, in the UPMC Shadyside. She was born April 16, 1951, in Fairmont, W.Va., a daughter of Ruth Alberta Williams Rush of Greensburg and the late Albert D. "Bud" Rush, who died Oct. 19, 1999. She had been employed as an executive secretary for Allegheny Energy, Greensburg, with 31 years of service. She was Protestant by faith and a member of the Y-Me Support Group for Breast Cancer Patients. In addition to her Father , she was preceded in death by her Father -in-law, Bruce W. Rupert. In addition to her mother , she is survived by her husband, Raymond B. Rupert; her son, Todd A. Rupert of Greensburg; a brother, Larry L. and his wife, Lana Rush, of Galesburg, Ill.; a sister, Tana D. and her husband, Robert Butler, of Irwin; her mother -in-law, Gladys Ann Rupert of Export; three nieces; and a nephew. Friends received at the BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 516 Stanton at Green streets, Greensburg, beginning Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home Wednesday at 9 a.m. with the Rev. HELEN SAURBAUGH
Helen Saurbaugh, 85, of Latrobe, died Saturday, March 11, 2000, in IHS at Mountain View, Unity Township. She was born Nov. 6, 1914, in Braddock, Pa., a daughter of the late John Polasko Sr. and Marie Golmic Polasko. She was a retired employee of Gabler's Shore Crab House in Maryland and was a member of the Latrobe Golden Age Group and the St. Vincent's Senior Citizens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Ellwood Saurbaugh; a brother, Andrew Polasko; a sister, Ann Polasko; and a great-granddaughter, Erin Leigh McIntire. She is survived by her children, Elaine McIntire and husband, Leland, of Delmont, M. Victoria Guenther and husband, Ron, of Virginia Beach, Va., and Jan W. Saurbaugh and wife, Anne, of Baltimore, Md.; a brother, John Palmer Jr. and wife, Mildred, of Sarasota, Fla.; and sisters , Mary Marton of Monroeville, Elizabeth Viggiano and husband, Ralph, of Monroeville, and Margaret Polascak and husband, George, of Forest Hills; grandchildren, Pam Fazio and husband, Craig, of New Kensington, Keith W. McIntire and wife, Michele, of Shaler, Eric B. McIntire of Greensburg, Diane M. Blevins and John Ellwood Saurbaugh, both of Baltimore, Md.; great-grandchildren, Brandy and Nathan McIntire and Cara Fazio; and a special friend, Ida Spillars. There will be no public viewing. Family and friends are invited to a service Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 501 Fairfield Drive, Greensburg, with the Rev. David H. Clemente officiating. Interment will take place in Arlington National Cemetery in Washington , D.C. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorials to either the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church or the Westmoreland Hospice, 532 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg.
GARY F. SELWAY
Gary F. Selway, 57, of Greensburg, died Saturday, March 11, 2000. He was born May 9, 1942, in Pittsburgh, Pa., a son of the late Calvin Albert Selway and June Aleta Thompson Selway McMaster. He was a graduate of Duquesne University. He was an attorney in Greensburg and was a member of the Westmoreland Bar Association, and had served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Surviving is his wife, Lynn D. Selway, and children, Cassidy Selway of Greensburg, Brian Selway and wife Kris of Bowie, Md.; a brother, William McMaster of Jeannette; a sister, Jackie Kunkleman of McKeesport. Also survived by granddaughter Bryanna; several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME, 524 N. WALTER F. ALTIMUS
Walter F. Altimus, 92, of Redstone Highlands, Greensburg, for the past several years, formerly of Oakmont, on Tuesday, March 14, 2000. Husband of the late Mildred R. Altimus. Father of Lawrence S. Altimus of Latrobe and the late Robert Altimus. Also four grandchildren. Walter was a member of the Verona Presbyterian Church and a Mason. He was a craneman at Edgewater Steel Co. in Oakmont. Elizabeth "Liz" Davis, 79, of West Newton, died Monday, March 13, 2000, in Greensburg. Born July 22, 1920, in Glasgow, Scotland, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Matilda Lockhart, and the wife of the late Kenneth C. Davis. She was a homemaker, a former employee of Isaly's in White Oak and a past member of the former First United Presbyterian Church in McKeesport. She is survived by daughters , Patricia Gretz of McKeesport, Barbara Bodnar of West Newton, Matilda Blank of Dravosburg and Lillian Viehl of Glassport; sons , Arthur of Brazoria, Texas , Kenneth Jr. of Mt. Pleasant, Andrew of Joliet, Ill., and Edwin Davis of West Newton; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; a sister, Lillian Patrick of Dravosburg; a brother, Neil Lockhart of California; and nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by a brother, Larry Lockhart. Visitation Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the WILLIG FUNERAL HOME, 220 Ninth Ave., McKeesport. Funeral service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Richland Cemetery in Dravosburg.

Louise J. Evans, 87, of Raleigh, N.C., formerly of Greensburg, died Monday, March 13, 2000, in the Western Wake Hospital, Cary, N.C. She was born May 1, 1912, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Fritz and Selma Larson Johnson. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed as a teacher in the Hempfield Area School District. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Greensburg. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, William R. Evans; and a sister, Katherine A. Johnson. She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Mangum and her husband, Edgar, of Raleigh, N.C.; and two grandsons, Fletcher and Robb Mangum. The family will receive friends in the Colonial Chapel Mausoleum, St. Clair Cemetery, Thursday at 10:30 a.m., where services will be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. James H. Nash officiating. Pamela K. Fenell, 51, of Latrobe, died Tuesday, March 14, 2000, in Latrobe Area Hospital. She was born May 12, 1948, in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of Ann A. Torba Goodman of Latrobe and the late Kenneth E. Goodman. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Latrobe. She had been employed by Foodland at Lincoln Road Shopping Center, Latrobe. In addition to her mother , she is survived by her husband, Charles E. Fenell; a son, Charles E. Fenell Jr. at home; a daughter, Janine R. Fenell at home; and a brother, Kenneth "Morgan" Goodman of Alpharetta, Ga. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the JOHN J. George C. Grimm, 26, of Sewickley Pines Manor, West Newton (Sewickley Township), died Tuesday, March 14, 2000, at the Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. He was born Nov. 16, 1973, in Jeannette, a son of Bruce R. and Rebecca A. (McLaughlin) Grimm of Darragh. George was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a member of the North American Hunting Club. In addition to his parents, George is survived by his wife, Stacy Lynn; a son, Anthony D. Lynn, and a daughter, Heather M. Grimm, both living at home; two brothers , Robert Lee Grimm of Darragh and Bruce W. "Hoss" Grimm of Greensburg; a sister, Kayla Ann Grimm of Darragh; his maternal grandfather, George C. McLaughlin; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. George was preceded in death by a sister, Rebecca A. Grimm; his paternal grandparents, Robert L. and Jeanne I.
