EMMA R. BITTNER
HYNDMAN, Pa. - Emma Ronelda Bittner, 75, of Kennells Mills Road, RD 1, Hyndman, died Thursday, Feb. 27, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md. Born March 16, 1921, in Southampton Township, Somerset County, she was a daughter of the late Roy E. and Naomi B. (Emerick) Kennell. She also was preceded in death by two sisters, Idella Lucero and Madeline Dom. Mrs. Bittner was a member of the Central Christian Church, Hyndman. Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Merle T. Bittner; three brothers, Stanley W. Kennell, Glen Burnie, Md., John W. Kennell and Gerald M. Kennell, both of RD 1, Hyndman; and five sisters, Marybelle E. White, A. Ruth Imler, Alzene L. Sweitzer, Marion E. Romesburg, and Frances F. Troutman, all of RD 1, Hyndman. Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 11 a.m. with Galen Beitzel, evangelist, officiating. Interment will be in Comps cemetery.

ROBERT A. BITTNER
MEYERSDALE, Pa. - Robert A. Bittner, 64, of Meyersdale, died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 1997, at the Meyersdale Medical Center.
Born March 26, 1933, in Corriganville, Md., he was the son of the late Cyrus P. and Lela M. (Caton) Bittner.

Mr. Bittner was a member of the SS. Philip and James Catholic Church, Meyersdale, the 4th degree Knights of Columbus Council 9297, Meyersdale, and the BPOE Lodge 1951.

Surviving are his wife Janet R. (Ruffo) Bittner; two sons, Richard A. Bittner and Paul E. Bittner and wife Floredeliza (Fulgencio), all of Meyersdale; one granddaughter, Paula; one brother, William P. Bittner, Frostburg, Md.; and one sister, Mary Jane Merrbach, Meyersdale.

Christian Wake service will be conducted at the William Rowe Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, on Thursday at 2:15 p.m. and Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the SS. Philip and James Catholic Church on Friday at 10:30 a.m. with the Msgr. Timothy J. Swope officiating.

Interment will be in the Greenville Union cemetery.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to the SS. Philip and James Catholic Church, Meyersdale.

MARY RUTH HOLLER
MANNS CHOICE, Pa. - Mary Ruth Holler, 72, of New Buena Vista, R.D. 1, Manns Choice, died Friday, July 18, 1997, at Memorial Hospital of Bedford County, Bedford.
Born September 1, 1924, in Juniata Township, she was a daughter of the late Albert "Jack" and Sarah (Corley) Hillegass.

On April 20, 1946, at Cumberland, Md., she married Donald E. Holler, who preceded her in death on February 8, 1969. She also was preceded in death by an infant son, Paul Eugene Holler; a granddaughter, Ruby Kay Lafferty; a grandson, Donnie Reuben Lafferty; a brother; and a sister.

Surviving are a daughter, Barbara Kay Lafferty and husband Reuben, R.D. 1, Manns Choice; two grandchildren, Shannen Kay and David R. Lafferty, R.D. 1, Manns Choice; three sisters; and a brother.

Mrs. Holler retired with 25 years of employment at the Bedford A&P; Store where she was a member of the Amalgamated Meat Cutters Local 590.

She was a lifelong member of the former St. Mark's United Church of Christ in New Buena Vista, and was affiliated with Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, on Monday from 5 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Roy Gearhart, the Rev. David Wiley, and Pastor Joy Blackburn officiating.

Friends will be received at the church one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be in Schellsburg cemetery.

CLARA B. EMERICK
SALISBURY, Pa. - Clara Belle Emerick, 80, of Salisbury, formerly of Hyndman, died Friday, Aug. 15, 1997, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown.
Born Jan. 18, 1917, in Meyersdale, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Elesta (Hook) Emerick. She also was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Emerick and Catherine Smith; and four brothers, Andy, Harry, George, and William Emerick.

Surviving are three sisters, Minnie Martell, Windber, Ida Koso, Parsonsburg, Md., and Mary Medd, Riverside, N.J.; a brother, Earl Emerick, Boswell; several nieces and nephews; and special caregivers, James and Rayetta Brant, Salisbury.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, on Monday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Services will be conducted on Monday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Hyndman cemetery.

GLEN T. BLAUCH
BERLIN, Pa. - Glen Thomas Blauch, 76, of Garrett Shortcut, Berlin, died Monday, Dec. 29, 1997, at the Somerset Hospital.
Born Dec. 2, 1921, in Ridgeley, W.Va., he was the son of the late Earl Ray and Nellie Leola (Ward) Blauch. He also was preceded in death by his stepmother, Alma Leona Mason-Blauch; his wife, the former Nettie Susan Mersing, whom he married on Aug. 31, 1946; and two brothers, Carl Ward Blauch and Paul Ray Blauch.

Surviving are children, Glen Thomas Blauch Jr., Bethesda, Md., Paul Ray Blauch, Sydney, Australia, and David Alan Blauch, Bowie, Md., seven grandchildren, Ryan Thomas, Christina Lee, Jason Edward, Jeremy Paul, Justin Thomas, Eric Thomas and Robert Allan Blauch; two nieces raised by Glen, Mrs. James (Ann Johnson) Ashby, Oakland, Md., and Mrs. Ernest (Jeanie Johnson) Hoffman, Somerset; five great nieces and nephews, Diane and Jeff Ashby, Mrs. Paul (Susan) Smith, Brad and Eric Hoffman.

Mr. Blauch also was the brother of Ralph L. Blauch, Harrisonburg, Va., Mrs. Arthur (Gladys) Garges, Doylestown, Mrs. Emerson (Mildred) Miller, Perkasie, James W. Blauch, Harrisonburg, Mrs. Arthur (Irene) Moreland and Dale E. Blauch, both of Keyser, W.Va.

Mr. Blauch was a member of the Somerset Alliance Church, and Shopman's Local 527. He was employed by Uptegraff Transformer Co. for 24 years.

Friends will be received at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the Somerset Alliance Church, Somerset, on Thursday, Jan. 1, 1997, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Walter L. Frankenberry officiating. There will be viewing at the church from 9 a.m. to the time of the service.

Interment will be in Somerset County Memorial Park.

Contributions may be made to the Somerset "In Touch" Hospice, 651 S. Center Ave., Somerset, PA 15501.

NETTIE S. BLAUCH
BERLIN, Pa. - Nettie Susan Blauch, 72, of Garrett Shortcut, Berlin, died Saturday, March 1, 1997, at her residence.
Born March 21, 1924, in Crellin, Md., she was the daughter of the late Charles Emil Mersing and Clara Bell (White) Mersing. She also was preceded in death by four brothers, Leonard, Elmer, Clyde and James Mersing; and three sisters, Ruth Mersing, Nora Mae Bowser, and Miami E. Johnson.

Mrs. Blauch was a 1942 graduate of Oakland High School. She was a member of Somerset Alliance Church, and former bookkeeper for Somerset Christian Bookstore and the Somerset schools.

Surviving are her husband of 50 years, Glen Thomas Blauch Sr.; three sons, Glen Thomas Blauch Jr., Bethesda, Md., Paul Ray Blauch, Singapore, and David Alan Blauch, Crofton, Md.; and two foster daughters, Ann (Johnson) Ashby and husband James, Oakland, Md., and Jeanie (Johnson) Hoffman and husband Ernest, RD 3, Somerset; sister Anna B. Graham and husband Frederick, Crellin, Md.; and brother Charles L. Mersing, Kingwood, W.Va.; seven grandchildren; and five foster grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at Somerset Alliance Church, Somerset, on Tuesday, March 4, 1997, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Melvin E. Vance officiating.

Interment will be in Somerset County Memorial Park. There will be a viewing at the church from 9 a.m. until the service.

Contributions may be sent to Somerset "In Touch" Hospice, 651 S. Center Ave., Somerset, PA 15501.

HARRY A. HOLSINGER JR.
JOHNSTOWN, Pa. - Harry A. Holsinger, Jr., 79, Arbutus Park Retirement Community, Johnstown, died Oct. 29, 1997.
Born June 30, 1918, in Hagerstown, he was the son of Harry A. and Fonzie (Brown) Holsinger. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Vivian.

Surviving are his son, Charles Holsinger, Davidsville; grandson, David Holsinger, Ebensburg; and great-grandsons, Daniel Holsinger, Brian Holsinger and Scott Holsinger, Ebensburg.

He was a member of the Church of the Brethren, Hagerstown. He was a retired Lieutenant of the Maryland State Police with 29 years of service. He served as Executive Director of the Maryland State Sheriff's Association for four years and was instrumental in the formation of the Association's Boys Town.

There will be no visitation or viewing at the family's request. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 14, 1997, in the Chapel of Franklin Street United Methodist Church, Johnstown, with the Rev. Jeffrey Miller officiating.

In memory of Harry Holsinger, those who wish may make contributions to the Outreach Program of the Franklin Street United Methodist Church, Johnstown.

Arrangements are being handled by the John Henderson Funeral Home, Johnstown.
