JODY WELDON BODES
SPRINGS, Pa. - Jody Weldon Bodes, 27, of 939 Chestnut St., Hagerstown, Md., died suddenly as a result of an auto accident on Saturday, March 14, 1998, in Frederick County, Md.
Born Aug. 6, 1970, in Meyersdale, he was a son of Weldon S. "Sandy" and Kathy E. (Ringler) Bodes, Springs, Pa. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Harry E. Bodes and Lawrence E. "Ted" Ringler; and an uncle, Barron Ringler.

Mr. Bodes was employed as a field service manager for Engineering Consulting Services LTD, Frederick, Md. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Salisbury, Pa., Salisbury Volunteer Fire Department, Salisbury Area Ambulance Association, Pennsylvania Society of Land Surveyors, and American Society of Civil Engineers. He was a 1988 graduate of Salisbury-Elk Lick High School and a 1993 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, Johnstown, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.

Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his wife, Betty Jo (Hutzel) Bodes, whom he married June 7, 1997; a brother, Jeffrey Bodes and wife, Chaley; and nephew, Brandon Tyler Bodes, all of Salisbury; maternal grandmother, Marion (Twombly) Ringler, West Salisbury, Pa.; paternal grandmother, Myrtle (Johns) Bodes, Salisbury; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Austin "Chip" and Betty (Hutzell) Hutzel, Salisbury; and sister-in-law, Anna Winters, Fairfax, Va.

Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home Inc., Salisbury, Pa., on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. John's United Church of Christ with the Rev. Raymond Brown officiating.

Interment will be in Salisbury cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may be directed to St. John's Church Memorial Fund, Box 33, Salisbury, PA 15558, or to the Salisbury Volunteer Fire Department, Box 97, Salisbury.

ANNA M. DAVIS
SPRINGS, Pa. - Anna M. Patterson Davis, 70, of Springs, died Sunday, May 31, 1998, at the Meyersdale Manor Nursing Home.
Born Nov. 25, 1927, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Mary (Miller) Patterson of Woodland, Md. She also was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward J. Davis; two brothers, Walter and William A. Patterson; and a sister, Elizabeth Shimer.

Mrs. Davis owned and operated a beauty shop for 30 years in Springs. She was a member of the Maple Glen Church of the Brethren, Salisbury.

Surviving are one daughter, Denise Murray and husband Roger, Route 1, Hyndman; one son, Edward Davis and special friend Tamara Philabaum, Salisbury; two grandchildren, Shawn and Rebecca Murray; and four sisters, Hazel Hitchins, Woodland, Ruth Eisel, Frostburg, Esther Biggs, Frostburg, and Gladys Zehner, Seattle, Wash.

There was no visitation and the funeral services were private at the Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg, at the request of Mrs. Davis. The Rev. Daniel Whitacre conducted the services.

Interment was in the Frostburg Memorial Park.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, 106 Sante Fe St., LaVale, MD 21502 or the West Virginia Candlelighters at the WVU Children's Hospital, Pediatrics Dept. G 190 HSCN, P.O. Box 9214, Morgantown, WV 26506-9214.

LUCY M. BOBO
OREFIELD, Pa. - Lucy M. Bobo, 82, of Orefield, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 3, 1998, in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.
Born Feb. 26, 1916, at Mayfield, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Grant U. and Missouri M. (Swisher) McDonald. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce L. Bobo, on Nov. 24, 1984.

Mrs. Bobo was a technical assistant at the former Western Electric, Allentown, for many years until retiring. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, Allentown, and was a deacon and member of the Sunday morning prayer group. She was a member of the Bell Telephone Pioneers.

Surviving are two sons, Gary D. Bobo, Orefield, and Bruce D. Bobo, Allentown; one daughter, Mary Lou Bobo, Orefield; three sisters, Myrtle Bolton and husband Richard A., Alexandria, Va., Ethel Walker, Cumberland, Md., and Alice May, LaVale, Md.; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Kight Funeral Home, 309-311 Decatur St., Cumberland, Md., on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. only.

Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Paul E. Backlund officiating. Interment will be in the Maysville (W.Va.) cemetery.

The family requests that memorials take the form of contributions to the Calvary Baptist Church, 4601 Tilghman St., Allentown, PA 18104.

ROBERT I. DOM
WELLERSBURG, Pa. - Robert Irvin Dom, 79, of Wellersburg, died Friday, Aug. 28, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md.
Born Nov. 30, 1918, in Wellersburg, he was a son of the late George W. and Mary (Suder) Dom.

Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Pluma (Lashley) Dom; two sons, Charles, husband of Mike, Parkman, Ohio, and Thomas, husband of Helen, Wellersburg; three daughters, Deborah Tanner, Las Vegas, Marsha Beck, Bel Air, Cumberland, and Kathy Martz, Hyndman; four brothers, Curtis, husband of Zelda, and John, husband of Leora, both of Wellersburg, Wilbert, Cumberland, and Freeman, husband of Mary, Hagerstown, Md.; a sister, Grace, wife of Clinton Cook, Hyndman; 10 grandchildren, Charles Jr., Joseph and Robert Dom, Parkman, Ohio, Joshua, Ryan and Aaron Dom, Wellersburg, Tyler and Alyse Beck, Bel Air, Cumberland, and Brianna and Whitney Martz, Hyndman; a brother-in-law, Delbert Knippenberg, Irons Mountain, Cumberland; and a sister-in-law, Nellie Dom, Cumberland.

Mr. Dom worked for Potomac Edison for 49 years. He was a member of the United Church of Christ, Corriganville, Md., and a lifetime member of the Wellersburg Fire Company. He served in the U.S. Army in the Asian Pacific Theater during World War II.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 2 p.m. with Pastor Steven L. Craft officiating.

Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be John A., John W., Homer and Douglas Dom, David Felker and James Lashley. Mr. Dom's grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to St. John's United Church of Christ, Corriganville, or the Wellersburg (Pa.) District Fire Company.

CLARENCE S. BAER
MEYERSDALE, Pa. - Clarence S. Baer, 75, of Meyersdale, died Monday, May 18, 1998, in Meyersdale Manor.
He was born July 10, 1922, in Greenville Township, a son of the late Jacob and Sarah (Baker) Baer.

He is survived by two sons, Larry and Clarence, both of Meyersdale; and a daughter, Linda Stein, Phoenixville; five grandchildren; a sister, Edna Wright, Salisbury.

He was a member of Greenville Lutheran Church, and was a retired farmer.

Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Leckemby Funeral Home, Meyersdale.

On Wednesday he will be taken to Greenville Lutheran Church for visitation from 10 to 11 a.m., at which time the service will be conducted by Pastor David Fetter.

Interment will be in the Greenville cemetery.

RUTH MARIE CLITES
MANNS CHOICE, Pa. - Ruth Marie Clites, 86, of R.D. 1, Manns Choice, died Tuesday March 31, 1998, at the residence of her granddaughter, Laura M. Costello, of R.D. 1, Fairhope.
Born March 19, 1912 in Allegheny Township, Somerset County, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Katie (Kiser) Browning. On June 12, 1946, she married Harry E. Clites, who preceded her in death on Oct. 30, 1984. Her first husband, Peter Hordubay, died in 1940.

She is survived by a son, Elmer L. Hordubay Sr., Covington, Va.; seven grandchildren, Laura M. Costello, Ruth E. Carper, Mary Ann Walters, Elmer L. Hordubay Jr., Paula A. Wargo, Brenda D. Ringler and Lisa K. Tomlinson; 26 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by a son, Cyrus I. Hordubay; an infant daughter; an infant granddaughter, Connie Lou Hordubay; five brothers, Irvin, John, William, Harry and Roy Browning; and five sisters, Blanche Shaffer, Mattie Hartman, Nannie Logsdon, Ella Smith and Bertha Shaw. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Charles F. Rhodes and Pastor Kim A. Bennett officiating. Interment will be in Mount Zion cemetery.

Memorials may be sent to the Home Nursing Hospice, R.D. 1, Everett, PA 15537.
