GERALD X. MILLER
STATE LINE, Pa. - Gerald Xavier Miller, 76, of State Line (Hyndman R.D.), died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md.
Born April 4, 1922, in Johnstown, he was a son of the late Elwood L. and Minnie Mae (Emerick) Miller.
Mr. Miller is survived by his wife of 52 years, Alice Lee (Waltman) Miller; a son, John C. Miller, Columbus, Ohio; a daughter, Cathy S. Kline and husband, William, Cumberland; five grandchildren, John A. Topper III, Hyndman, Joby M. Topper and wife, Leana, Charlottesville, Va., Wesley B. and Aaron J. Kline, Cumberland, and Trisha J. Miller, Bishop, Calif.; one great-granddaughter, Caley Topper; a brother, Calvin Miller, Greenbelt, Md.; and a special cousin, Albert Earnest, Cumberland.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl M. Warner; a sister; and a brother.
In 1984 Mr. Miller retired from Kelly-Springfield Tire Company where he was a shipping supervisor. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II where he served in the Pacific Theater for 2« years. He was a member of Hyndman Lodge 589 F & AM.
Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Masonic funeral services will be conducted by Hyndman Lodge 589 F & AM at the funeral home on Friday at 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Rebecca J. Vardiman officiating.
Interment will be in Cooks Mills United Methodist Church cemetery. Military honors will be conferred by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.
LEOTA B. O'NEAL
CLEARVILLE, Pa. - Leota (Barney) O'Neal, 86, of Frame Church Road, Clearville, died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 1999, at her home.
Born Aug. 22, 1913, in Monroe Township, she was a daughter of the late Joseph S. and Alice (Karns) Barney.
On April 19, 1937, in Everett, she married
Ralph O'Neal, who preceded her in death on March 1, 1993.
She is survived by three children, Dale A. and wife Audrey (Morton), Martha Alice and husband Merrit Bowman, and Thomas J. and wife Linette (Beegle), all of Clearville; two sisters, Ethel Rogers, Hilton Head, S.C., and Mabel Archer, Boulder, Colo.; a brother, Blaine Barney, Atlanta; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, William E.; a great-grandson, Cadin Trail; six brothers; and one sister.
Mrs. O'Neal was a member of the Clearville United Church of Christ and attended the Bedford Bible Church. She graduated from Everett High School in 1931, then attended the Pennsylvania State University and graduated from Shippensburg College in 1933.
She was a teacher for the Everett Area School District, retiring in June 1976 after 43 years of service, including 23 years at Mann-Monroe Elementary, teaching fourth grade. She was a clerk for the Clearville United Church of Christ for many years, and was a member of the National Education Association, the Pennsylvania State Education Association, and the Pennsylvania State Association of Retired Teachers. In addition, Mrs. O'Neal was a homemaker, helping to operate the Monroe Township farm owned by her and husband.
Friends may call at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett, on Thursday from 4 to 9 p.m., and on Friday at the Bedford Bible Church from 10 to 11 a.m.
Funeral services will be held at the Bedford Bible Church on Friday, Sept. 10, 1999, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Rex Lusk officiating.
Interment will be in the Clearville Union cemetery.

BRIDGET I. NORTHCRAFT
ARTEMAS, Pa. - Bridget Isabelle Northcraft, 84, of Artemas, died Tuesday, March 9, 1999, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Oct. 26, 1914, in Inglesmith, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Edward Curren and the late Annie May (Shipley) Curren.
Mrs. Northcraft was a life member of Fairview Christian Church.
Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Vernon"Mike" Northcraft, Artemas; a son, Edward V. Northcraft and wife, Beverly, Flintstone, Md.; and a grandson, Shawn Northcraft and fiance Jennifer Rzezak, Flintstone.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted on Friday at 1 p.m. at the Fairview Christian Church with the Rev. Milton Morris officiating. The body will be taken to the church at noon.
Interment will be in Fairview Christian cemetery.
JAMES SPEIRS 'SCOTTY' ORR
MONACA, Pa. - James Speirs 'Scotty' Orr, age 84, of Monaca, formerly of Lonaconing, Md., died Monday, May 17, 1999, at the Veterans Hospital, Aspinwall, Pa.
Born Aug. 29, 1914, in Blantyre, Scotland, he was the son of the late William E. Orr Sr. and Jennie C. (Speirs) Orr. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jane (Watson) Orr, on May 21, 1986.
Surviving are two sons, James Orr, Wildwood, Fla., and Gordon J. Orr, Pittsburgh, Pa.; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dundas Orr, Clearwater, Fla., and Drummond Orr, Greenbelt, Md.; one sister, Jean C. Mullen, McCoole, Md.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Scott Orr, Michael Timmons, Charles Grove, Jack Mullen, Gary Orr, and Charles Baker.
KENNETH 'BUDDY" MILLER
LONG BEACH, Calif. - Kenneth 'Buddy" Miller, 71, of Long Beach, formerly of Hyndman, Pa., went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 8, 1999.
He was a son of Mildred (Logsdon) Miller, Hyndman, and the late Carl H. Miller. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Zora; and two brothers, Carl Miller Jr., and David Miller.
Mr. Miller is survived by a daughter, Kem Cady; and two grandsons, Marcus and Aaron, Escondido; four sisters, Janet Martz, Cumberland, Md., Vivian Shaffer, Helen Ritchey and Kathleen Ritchey, all of Hyndman; and two brothers, Ted Miller, Hyndman, and Richard Miller, Fredericksburg, Va.
Mr. Miller served in the United States Navy during World War II.
Services were held in Long Beach.
MABEL L. MORELAND
BEDFORD, Pa. - Mabel Louise Moreland, 66, of Evitts Creek Road, Bedford, died Friday, Oct. 22, 1999, at her residence.
Born July 19, 1933, in Johnstown, she was the daughter of the late Arlington L. Griffith, Sr., and Marie (Gates) Griffith. She was married
to Maurice W. Moreland and he preceded her in death on March 13, 1996, also preceding her in death are three brothers, Arlington Jr., Ralph, and Clarence Griffith.
She is survived by the following children, Robert C. Moreland and Ruth, William C. Moreland and Elisbeth, Kathleen M. Athey and Robert, Kenneth E. Moreland and Kim, and Marsha L. Griffith and Blaine, all of Bedford; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Moreland was a member of the Oakland United Methodist Church and 245 Eagles Aux., Cumberland. She had worked as a nurses aid at Bedford Hospital for many years and was owner and manager of Dad's Restaurant and Lounge in Centerville.
Friends will be received at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, Bedford, Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home Monday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Jack Moyer, officiating.
Burial will in the Fellowship cemetery.
