ALFRED T. LIEB, 95, formerly of Lavelle, PA died Monday, June 23, 2008 at the Topton Home in Topton, PA.
Born in Helfenstein, PA October 23, 1912 he was the son of the late Elwood and Gertrude Lieb. He was a member of the Ziegel Lutheran Church in Breiningsville, PA. Worked as a miner in mines in Schuylkill County until his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Ida ( Mattern ) Lieb and his second wife Hariot ( Savage ) Lieb. Also preceding him in death was a son: Lee Lieb.
Surviving are a son Terry husband of Rita Lieb, Mertztown, PA.
A daughter in law survives: Evie Lieb of Florida.
Preceding him in death were a brother Ronald and two sisters: Ruth Hepler and Blanche Singley.

Born in Centralia, PA July 10, 1927 she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Anna ( Ravotsky ) Chickersky. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Ashland.
Attended Ashland High School and last worked at Ashland Shirt Corp. in Ashland, PA
She is survived by her husband: Robert Wetzel of Locustdale, PA
One Daughter, three sons survive: Lori Wetzel of Blandon, PA.
Son(s): Gary Wetzel of Reading, PA., Jack Wetzel of Gordon, PA., & Donald Wetzel of Ashburn, VA.
One sister one brother survive: Lillian Lucas of Ashland, PA. and
Michael Chickersky of Gordon, PA.

Eileen JUNE Whyne, 82 of 23 S. Spencer Street, Frackville, PA. died Saturday, July 12th, 2008 at her residence in Frackville.
Born in North Bend/Gleasonton, PA April 16, 1926 she was the daughter of the late
William and Helen Diem Gray Walizer. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal
Church in Ashland. She attended Renovo High School; and worked for three years for the Pennsylvania Railroad in Renovo as an oiler; Model Garment Factory in Frackville and worked as a Head Cook at the North Vo-Tech, Frackville for 14 years until retiring in 1988.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years William Whyne in 1998.
Two brothers and a sister preceded her in death: Donald L; William M. Walizer and sister Anna Mae Savel.
Surviving are three sons - one daughter: John C. husband of Sharon Whyne, Ashland; Michael T. Whyne, Frackville; Leonard S. husband of Terry Whyne, Ashland; and Charlene wife of Lawrence Levy, Frackville, PA.

Born in Ashland, PA October 1, 1943 she was the daughter of the late Edward and Catherine ( Dwyer ) Hede. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Ashland.
Graduated from Immaculate Heart High School Class of 1961 and last worked at Broad Mt.
Nursing Center, Frackville as the Activities Director.
She was preceded in death by her husband: James S. Stavinski in 1984.
Preceding her in death was a brother Edward who died in 2001.
Surviving are two sons, two daughters: James husband of Janet Stavinski, Frackville, PA; Edward husband of Denise Stavinski, Frackville; Kathleen Chesonis, Ashland and Victoria wife of Brian Jordan, York, PA.
One brother survives: Thomas husband of Karen Hede, Frackville, PA.

Born in Ashland, PA March 10, 1925 she was the daughter of the late George L. and Viola ( Bodman ) Strobel. She was a member of Zion Reformed United Church of Christ in Ashland. She was a member of the V.F. W. Post Ladies Aux. of Ashland and the Ashland Area Senior Citizens.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bruce G. Sener Aug. 31, 2005.
She was preceded in death by three sisters: Helen L. Kober; Mildred Welker; and Mary E. Gober. One brother preceded her in death; Richard Strobel.

John "Jack" Chappell, 77 of Lower Road RR1 Shamokin passed away suddenly Thursday, July 31st, 2008 at Shamokin Area Community Hospital, Coal Twp., PA.
Born in Locust Dale, PA October 20, 1930 he was the son of the late Elwood and
Dorothy (Miller) Chappell. Jack was a member of Bethany E.C. Church in Ashland.
Graduated from Penn State University in 1952 and served as a Lieutenant in the United States Army in the Korean War. For many years e and his wife owned and operated "Snyders Ice Cream" in Ashland and later owned and operated a State Farm Insurance Agency in Ashland until his retirement. Jack loved and was very active in Bethany E C Church serving as Sunday School Teacher and the Church Board for many years. He was a member of the Church Choir and the Community Choir. He was a member of the Schuylkill Valley Corvette Club which he helped found many years ago. He was a member of the Ashland Lodge No. 294 and a Past Master. He achieved his dreams in building many cars, one of which won the Pennsylvania Hill Climb Championship.
A sister Joan preceded him in death.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years Elizabeth "Betty" Snyder Chappell, Shamokin, PA.

Born in Shenandoah, PA August 5, 1925 she was the daughter of the late William O. and Mary (O'Neal) Eisenhauer. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Ashland, PA; Graduated from Bloomsburg High School in 1943 and Hahnemann Nursing School in 1946. Lucy was employed by Schuylkill County Vo-Tech School as a school nurse and retired in 1988. She was a member of the Ashland Elks B.P.O.E. 384 Ladies Auxiliary and the Catholic Daughters of America.
Surviving are her devoted husband of 49 years John "Jack" Fanelli. A daughter:
