John P. Schlader, 54, of 78 Middle Street, Locust dale. passed away Tuesday, March 25th, 2008 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, PA.
Born in Ashland, PA October 29, 1953 he was the son of Anna Mae (Puceta) Birster, Locust Dale, PA and the late John Schlader who died in 1981. He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Mt. Carmel, PA. He graduated from North Schuylkill High School class of 1972. Worked for Tri State Envelope until retirement.
Surviving are his Mother Anna Mae wife of Jervase "Moxie" Birster, Locust Dale, PA.
Two sisters one brother survive: Mary Carpovitch of Mt. Carmel, PA.;
Rose Ann Birster of Ashland, PA. and Charles Schlader of Kulpmont, PA.
Nieces and nephews survive.

Dorothy A. Osborne, 84, of Harrisburg, PA, formerly of Ashland, PA passed away Thursday, March 27th, 2008 at Community General Osteopathic Hospital in Harrisburg, PA.
She was born in Mt. Carmel, PA October 6, 1923 and was the daughter of the late
Thomas and Irene ( Miller ) Anthony. She worked as a Nursing Supervisor at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, PA until retirement. She was an avid Penn State fan.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles "Chuck" Osborne in 1987.
Her sister preceded her in death Betty Kull in 1990.
Two daughters survive: Virginia Welsh of Enola, PA.
Barbara Doukas of Harrisburg, PA.
Two grandchildren, two great grandchildren Nieces & Nephews survive.

Elva M. Neiswinter, 95, of Ashland. passed away Thursday, March 27th, 2008 at St. Catherine Medical Center, Ft. Springs, , PA.
Born in Ashland January 30, 1913 she was the daughter of the late Harry and Carrie ( Shutt ) Humes She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church,
Ashland and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Ashland Chapter.
She was last employed at the Ashland State General Hospital until her retirement.
She enjoyed traveling and her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Neiswinter in 1984.
A daughter preceded her in death Mary Jane Bilder in 1981
One daughter survives: Joan wife of Lawrence Lentes of Ashland, PA.

Clarence "Lefty" Leibig, 88, of 2016 Center Street Ashland. passed away Friday, March 28th, 2008 suddenly at Lebanon Veterans Medical Center, Lebanon, PA.
Born in Philadelphia, PA October 11, 1918 he was the son of the late Samuel and Lillie (Mason) Leibig.
She served in the U.S. Army as a Pvt.. in World War I I. Worked for John Staff Construction Co. until retirement. He also enjoyed baseball.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ethel ( Steward ) Leibig in 1963.
A daughter Barbara Ceraolo preceded him in death in 2006.
Three Daughters one son survive: Sherry wife of Jerald Gaughan of Girardville, PA.
Lynn Leibig of Lebanon, PA, Kathy wife of Gary Boose of Jonestown, PA;
and James husband of Maureen Leibig of Ashland, PA.
Preceding him in death were four brothers and one sister:
Arthur, Robert, Albert, Elmer, and Lorraine Levan.
Fourteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, Nieces & Nephews survive.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at at St. Joseph's Church, Ashland, PA, at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, April 2nd, with Rev. Adam C. Sedar officiating.

Roland Lucas, 69, of 910 Little Mine Run Ashland. passed away Wednesday, April 9th, 2008 at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, Pottsville, PA.
He attended schools in Gordon and was a United States Army Veteran.
He is survived by his wife Jane (Bechtel) Lucas of Ashland, PA to whom he was married to for 41 years.
Six sisters survive: Anna Marlow of Frackville, PA., Geraldine Mervine of Ashland, PA., Barrie Neumeister of Ashland, PA., Peggy Hubler of Gordon, PA., Betsy Mervine of Gordon, PA., Nancy Higgins of Gordon, PA.
Two Brothers survive: Frederick Lucas of Frackville, PA., Robert Lucas of Ashland, PA.. A brother William Lucas preceded him in death.
He is survived by longtime caregivers Dennis Benjamin; Dave Lackie; and Kimberly Herndaze. Nieces and Nephews survive.

Harvey Kimmel, 79, of 100 Beury's Road, Ashland. passed away Thursday,
April 10th, 2008 at St. Catherine Medical Center, Ft. Springs, PA.
Born in Barry Twp. December 23, 1928 he was the son of the late Emerson and Carrie ( Hinkel ) Kimmel. He was a member of Christ United Lutheran Church, Ashland. He was a member of the Ashland Lodge No. 294 F&AM; was self employed as a farmer; worked at Allied Chemical Company and operated heavy equipment for many years. Harvey was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Surviving are two sons, two daughters: Richard and Edward Kimmel, both of Ashland; Patti Kimmel and Linda Kelley, both of Ashland.
Five grandchildren survive: Christina Jones, Kelli Kimmel, Edward Kimmel Jr.,
Amber Kelley, & Jaimi Kelley. Nieces and Nephews survive.
Preceding him in death were six brothers three sisters: Warren, Paul, Harold, Mark, Raymond, & Elwood. Alma Milinack, Leona Thomas & Geroldine Thompson.
Memorial Service will be held in Kimmels Church, Barry Twp. at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 19th, with Rev. Robert Hoenich officiating.

Joseph P. O'Neill, 60, of 505 McKnight Street Gordon. passed away Saturday, April 12th, 2008 at St. Catherine Medical Center, Ft. Springs, PA.
He was born in Ft. Springs, PA November 5, 1947 the son of the late Joseph and Helen (Leibig) O'Neill. He was a member of Our Lady of Good Council Church, Gordon, PA and attended St. John's Episodical Church in Ashland.
He graduated from Ashland High School in 1965; graduated from Bloomsburg University with a B.S. in Education and taught Social Studies at North Schuylkill High School for 35 years until his retirement in 2006. He was presently a member of the North Schuylkill School Board; Past president of the North Schuylkill Teachers Association for 12 years. He was Social Studies Dept. Chair Person for 20 years.
He was past member of the Gordon Borough Council; Member of the Ashland Elks B P O E 384; Ashland American Legion; Ashland Kawanis; American Red Cross; Ft. Springs Fire Company; Gordon Fire Company; Frackville Youth Soccer Association; Past Ashland Little League Coach; and Member of the Board of Directors at the Schuylkill County Intermediate Unit.
Surviving are his wife:Suzanne (Bechtel) O'Neill, Gordon, PA

Mildred L. Shuey, 96, of Schuylkill Center Pottsville, PA died Thursday, April 17th, 2008 at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville. She was formerly of Beury's Road, Ashland, PA.
Born in Barry Twp., PA August 14, 1911 she was the daughter of the founder of Beury's Grove, the late Harvey E. and Alice Hubler Beury. She was the oldest resident of Barry Twp. and was educated in Barry Schools. She was a member of Christ United Lutheran Church, Airport Road, Ashland, PA. She was a former Sunday School Teacher, and held offices in the Missionary Society and Luther League; Bible School Teacher. She formerly served as Majority Inspector of Election in Barry Twp. for 22 years. She was President of Beury's Grove, Inc.
She was a loving mother and very proud of her grandchildren & great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Luther A. Shuey, Dec. 19, 1984. Two brothers eight sisters preceded her in death: Calvin and Charles, Carrie, Lottie, Valeria, Clara, Elsie, Alma, Mary, & Sarah.
Surviving are a son: Jack B. Shuey, Camp Hill, PA, a daughter survives: Emily
Reichwein, R D Ashland, PA.
Six grandchildren survive: Ronald Shuey, Camp Hill, PA; Dr. Raymond Reichwein,
