Glenn I. Harr

Glenn I. Harr, 70, died Monday, August 7, 2000, in UPMC Passavant, McCandless. Born April 14, 1930 in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late George and Edna Hooley Harr. Mr. Harr was an Army veteran of the Korean War and retired from Fisher Scientific. Survivors include his wife, Eleanor Terry Harr; two daughters , Cathy Houston of Adams Township and Beth Quieser of Wexford; one son, James E. Harr of Columbus, Ohio; one sister, Doris Swanlund of San Diego, Calif.; and six grandchildren. Services were private. Arrangements were by SCHELLHAAS FUNERAL HOME, Richland. Memorial contributions can be made to: American Respiratory Alliance of Western Pennsylvania , 201 Smith Dr., Suite E., Cranberry, PA 16066.

Joseph E. Kirsch
North Versailles

Joseph E. Kirsch, 86, of North Versailles, died Friday, Aug. 11, 2000. He was the husband of the late Armella M. Kirsch. He is survived by three daughters , Darlene Hunter, Jeanne Schwoeble and Renee Burke; a son, Joe Kirsch; three granddaughters; two great-grandsons; three brothers , William, Edward and James Kirsch; and several nieces and nephews. Friends received Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the JENNIFER S. JORDAN FUNERAL HOME INC., 1638 Lincoln Way, White Oak, Pa., 15131, (412) 672-6322. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 11 a.m. in St. Angela Merici Church, White Oak. Entombment will follow in New St. Joseph Mausoleum. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Angela Merici Church Building Fund, 1640 Fawcett Ave., White Oak, PA 15131.

Edward Thomas "Red" Lowstetter
Connellsville

Edward Thomas "Red" Lowstetter, of Rock Ridge Road, Connellsville, retired U.S. Navy Senior Chief, died Thursday evening, Aug. 10, 2000, in Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant, at the age of 56. Tom's family will receive friends in the FRANK KAPR FUNERAL HOME INC., 417 W. Pittsburgh St., Scottdale, Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. Tom's funeral service will be held Sunday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. David Lee officiating. Full military honors will be accorded at the funeral home Sunday evening following the funeral service. Burial will follow at sea by the U.S. Navy with full military honors. Tom's family suggests, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the donor's favorite charity in memory of Edward Thomas Lowstetter.

Henrietta C. Mansfield
Penn Hills

Henrietta C. Mansfield, age 86, of Penn Hills, born in Pittsburgh on August 23, 1913, died on Wednesday, August 9, 2000. Wife of the late William W. Mansfield; beloved mother of Harriet Conrad (William), and William Mansfield (Margaret); sister of Harry Schrott of Florida and the late Robert, Lawrence, and William Schrott, and Betty Foster. Also survived by eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Member of Epiphany Lutheran Church of East Liberty. Friends received Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at SOXMAN FUNERAL HOMES, LTD., 7450 Saltsburg Road, Pittsburgh, Pa., 15235. Service Monday at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Burial in Riverview Memorial Park, Penn Hills.

Rachelle J. Martin, on Thursday August 10, 2000, in her third month of life, beloved infant daughter of Richard J. and Paula Burkhart Martin of Ross Township. Sister of April, Krystal, Amanda and Samantha Martin; granddaughter of Ed and Mary Jo Newcamp of Economy, Richard Martin of North Side, John Neal of Farmington and the late Joan Neal; also survived by aunts, uncles and cousins. Friends invited Sunday 12-3 and 7-9 in the ORION C. PINKERTON FUNERAL HOME, INC., A Golden Rule Member Firm, 1014 California Avenue, Avalon (North Boros). An Angel Mass will be offered on Monday morning at 10:00 in the Saints John and Paul Roman Catholic Church, 2586 Wexford-Bayne road, Franklin Park. Burial will be in Christ Our Redeemer (North Side) Catholic Cemetery, Ross Twp.

Fred Marx, 89, of McKees Rocks, on Thursday, Aug. 10, 2000. Husband for 51 years of Joan M. Marx. Preceded in death by his three brothers , William, Edward and Carl; and his two sisters , Elsie Lareau and Margaret Krieger. Survived by nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation. Friends are welcome to attend the funeral service Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the mausoleum chapel of Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, 509 Washington Road. Arrangements by H.P. BRANDT FUNERAL HOME INC.

Thomas R. Miller on Friday, Aug. 11, 2000. Thrice widowed and preceded in death by Helen Juli Miller, Mary Phillips Miller and Marion Cunniff Miller. Father of Marilyn J. Grant and Elizabeth A. Rudolph. Brother of Mary McGahan, Jean Guenther, Ruth Bastille, Charles and Harry Miller and the late George and Grace Miller, Mercedes Stern and Robert Miller. John J. Olasz, 82, of West Mifflin, on Thursday, Aug. 10, 2000. Husband of the late Pauline (Matis). Father of Charles of Georgia, Mary Carol Gordon of Dormont, Margaret Vukela of Bethel Park and John of McCandless Township. Brother of Dorothy Weitzel of West Mifflin and the former State Representative Richard D. Olasz of West Mifflin, the late Clara Pokrywka and Leona Olasz. Also 11 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Friends received at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME INC., 3501 Main St., Munhall, Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass Monday 11 a.m. in Holy Spirit Church, West Mifflin, with Father Daniel Valentine as celebrant. Interment Calvary Cemetery, Pittsburgh. He was a member of the Golden Agers at Holy Spirit Church. For 45 years, he worked as a supervisor in the metallurgical labs at U.S. Steel, Homestead Works.

Joseph Sante Paskey, formerly of Greensburg, suddenly on Friday, Aug. 11, 2000, in Chicago, Ill. Beloved husband of Debra Lorenz Paskey. Best friend of Sasha. Son of Joan Vickers Paskey and the late John Paskey. Brother of Jacqueline Shasko. Also survived by nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the FINDLAY C. WYLIE FUNERAL HOME INC., 11311 Frankstown Road, Penn Hills. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Joy Catholic Church, Plum Borough.

Andrew J. Richard
Pine

Andrew J. Richard, 79, died Friday, August 11, 2000. Mr. Richard was a Navy veteran of World War II and had retired in 1986 from Dillner Transportation Co. after 30 year of service. He was a member of St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church in Pine and a member of Our Lady of Olives Council 3907 and the Knights of Columbus. Survivors include his wife, Jane Bergner of Pine; three sons , David Richard of Baden, William Richard of Houston, Texas and Gary Richard of Cranberry; one daughter, Nancy O'Donnell of Forest Hills, Md.; three sisters , Hilda Pegher of Pine, Helen Huffnagel of Portersville and Grace Lang of Cooksville, Md; one brother, Lester Richard of Hollywood, Fla.; and 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Friends will be received from noon to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the GEORGE A. THOMA FUNERAL HOME, 10418 Perry Highway, McCandless. Christian Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church.

Walter J. "Yam" Rozycki
McClure, Bullskin Township

Walter J. "Yam" Rozycki, 81, a lifelong member of the community of McClure, Bullskin Township, died Friday evening, Aug. 11, 2000, in Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. He was born in McClure, a son of the late Joseph and Rose Lewandowski Rozycki. He was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Everson. He was a retired coal miner, employed by Delmont Fuel for 20 years. He was also a former employee of R.E. Uptegraff Manufacturing Co., Scottdale, for six years, and of Kendi Enterprises for five years. Yam was a member of the Scottdale VFW Post 7781. Walter was a veteran of the armed forces, serving during World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps, Headquarters Detachment 301st Bombardment Group, 15th Air Force. He was a prisoner of war in Germany, and the recipient of the Purple Heart for wounds received in combat in Italy Sept. 20, 1944. He also was decorated with the Good Conduct medal, the American Theater service medal, and the European- African-Middle Eastern service medal with five bronze stars. He is survived by his children, Victor J. Rozycki and his wife, Candy, with whom he resided, Donna Swank of Dawson and Cathy Eiseman of Shady Hills, Fla.; several grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; two sisters , Irene Napoleon and her husband, Stephen, of McClure and Laura Wojtas and her husband, Melvin, of Baltimore, Md.; and a brother, Raymond Rozycki of Everson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Fronzak; and three brothers , Victor, Stanley and Harry Rozycki. No public visitation. Walter's family extends an invitation for relatives and friends to join them Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph R.C. Church, Everson, for the celebration of his Funeral Mass. Immediately following the Mass, the Scottdale VFW Post 7781 will accord military honors in the church yard. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to St. Joseph R.C. Church, Everson. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the FRANK KAPR FUNERAL HOME INC., 417 W. Pittsburgh St., Scottdale.

Nicholas "Nick" Rubis, 85, of Davis Road, Dawson, died peacefully Friday, Aug. 11, 2000, at his residence, with his loving family at his side. Nick's family will receive friends in the FRANK KAPR FUNERAL HOME INC., 417 W. Pittsburgh St., Scottdale, Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Divine Liturgy will be intoned Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, Jacobs Creek, with the Rev. Father Daniel M. Montville as celebrant. Interment will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery, Rostraver Township.
