MARGUERITE HANCOCK, 92, McKnight Street, Gordon, PA died Sunday February 17, 2008 at St. Catherine Medical Center, Ft. Springs, PA
Born in Gordon, PA February 10, 1916 she was the daughter of the late John
and Margaret ( Reiff ) Hancock. She was a member of Our Lady of Good Council
Church, Gordon where she was the Church Organist for over 50 years. She was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the church for many years.
She last worked for Ashland Shirt Corp., Ashland until her retirement.
She's survived by her caregiver Eugene Hancock, Pottsville, PA
Preceding her in death were three brothers, two sisters:
Leo, Herbert, and John Hancock; sisters: Violet Hunt, Edith Detwiler.
Nieces and Nephews survive.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008 at 10:30 AM in
Our Lady of Good Council Church, Gordon, PA. Rev. Adam Sedar officiating.
Interment in Christ Church cemetery, Ft. Springs, PA.
Visitation Wednesday 9:30 - 10:30 AM from Our Lady of Good Council Church, Gordon, PA. Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland, PA is in charge of arrangements.

Marvin Smink of Ashland. passed away Wednesday, February 20th, 2008 at St. Catherine Medical Center, Ft. Springs, , PA after a lengthily illness.
Born in Shamokin, PA he was the son of the late Jessie and Nancy ( Engle ) Smink.
He was a United States Army Veteran serving in World War I I.
He was preceded in death by his wife Wilma (Morgan) Smink in 1998.
Preceding him in death were two brothers, two sisters:
Raymond, John, Catherine and Ivy.
Three daughters survive:Judy wife of Dr. Joseph Weber, of Ashland, PA.;
Sandra wife of John Moll, of North Wales, PA.
Elizabeth Smink, of Wesley Chapel, FL.
One sister survives: Arlene Long, of Middletown, PA.
Four grandchildren, two great grandchildren, Nieces and nephews survive
Services will be held at the convenience of family at Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland, PA with Rev. Donald Morgan officiating.
Interment in Citizens cemetery, Lavelle, PA.

Violet Heiber, 90, of 100 S. Hoffman Blvd. Ashland. passed away Sunday, March 2nd, 2008 at her residence.
Born in Philadelphia, PA June 11, 1917 she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Esther ( Derr ) Dietz. She was a member of Zion's Reformed United Church of Christ in Ashland. She graduated from Ashland High School Class of 1935.
Preceding her in death were her husband Raymond Heiber in 1971.
Two brothers preceded her in death: Clair and Earl Dietz
Surviving are two sons: Raymond Heiber, Macungie, PA and Ronald Heiber of
Las Vegas, Nevada.
Eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren Nieces & Nephews survive.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. from the Kull-
Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland, PA. Rev. Roger Snyder officiating.
Interment in Christ Church cemetery, Ft. Springs, PA.
Visitation Wednesday 10:00 - 11:00 A.M. from the Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home in Ashland, PA.
Memorial contributions can be made to Pinnacle Health Hospice, 301 One Norwegian Plaza, Pottsville, PA 17901. Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland is in charge of arrangements.

Helen C. Kull, 100, formerly of Ashland, PA died at the Mt. Carmel Nursing Center, Mt. Carmel, PA. Friday, March 7th, 2008.
Born in Girardville, PA January 17, 1908 she was the daughter of the late Martin and Helen ( Coon ) Clarke. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Ashland and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. Helen was either co-owner or owner of Kull's Carpet Store in Ashland for many years until her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her husband G. Lester Kull in 1966.
Surviving are her son: James husband of Nancy Kull of Thousand Oaks, CA.
Preceding her in death were two brothers and one sister: Thomas Toole; Edward Clarke; and Mary Toole.
Three grandchildren Seven great grandchildren survive Nieces & Nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at at St. Joseph's Church, Ashland, PA, at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, March 12th, with Rev. Adam C. Sedar officiating.
Interment at Christ Church cemetery Ft. Springs, PA. There will be no viewing.
Memorial contributions can be made to your favorite charity.

Celia J. Homiak, 91, formerly of Shamokin, PA died Monday, march 10, 2008 at Seton Manor, Orwigsburg, PA.
Born in Shamokin, PA August 21, 1916 she was the daughter of the late Albert and Antoinette Lotis.
She was preceded in death by her husband Isadore C. Homiak in 2004 whom she was married to for 68 years.
A grandson Edward and great granddaughter Ashley preceded her in death.
Surviving are a son Donald husband of Carol of Honey Brook, PA
Four daughters survive: Ronnie wife of Woodrow Frey, Calicoon, N.Y.; Carol wife of Gregory Johnson, Tucson, AZ; Marian wife of Mark Berger, Tucson, AZ; and Donna wife of Thomas Harris, Gordon, PA.
One sister, two brothers survive: Teresa Binkoski, Shamokin, PA;
Edward Lotis, Kulpmont, PA; Leonard Lotis, Tucson, AZ.
Seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren survive. Nieces & Nephews
Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment in St. Mauritius cemetery, Ashland, PA.

Ethel T. Lane, 94, of 16 West Center St. Ashland. passed away Wednesday, March 12th, 2008 at her residence in Ashland.
Born in Ashland, PA July 15, 1913 she was the daughter of the late William and Gertrude ( Klusman ) Tiley. She was a lifelong member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Ashland. She was formerly an active member of the Girl Scouts and the Ashland Historical Society. She was formerly a cashier at the former Weyman's Restaurant in Ashland and a sales clerk for Klock Interior Design in Ashland. She was employed at the Ashland Public Library for several years until her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her husband Franklin "Mike" Lane in 1959, former Ashland Borough Manager at the time of his death.
Two sons survive:Warren "Nick" Lane of Ashland, PA., Franklin (Michael) Lane of Aldan, PA.
Preceding her in death were a brother and sister: Robert "Red' Tiley and Dorothy Tiley Miller.
Religious Service will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church, Ashland, PA, at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 15th, with Rev. James Smith officiating.
Interment at Christ Church cemetery, Ft. Springs, PA.

Burton B. Beck, 86, of 3 Lilac Court, New Holland. passed away Saturday,
March 15th, 2008 at Hospice of Lancaster County, Lancaster, PA.
Born in Lavelle, PA December 29, 1921 he was the son of the late John F. and Lottie ( Beury ) Beck. He was a member of St. Paul's E.C. Church, Reamstown, PA;
A United States Navy World War I I Veteran. He was last employed for Wyeth Laboratories, West Chester, PA and previously owned and operated Beck Auto Service in Pottstown, PA where he lived for 50 years. He was a member of the Ashland Lodge No. 294 F&AM, Ashland, PA; Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite and graduated from Ashland High School Class of 1940.
He was the husband of Fay (Seiler) Beck.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years Fay (Seiler) Beck of New Holland, PA.
A son survives; John Beck, of Lancaster, PA.
A Sister: Jean Reichard, of Marcellus, NY survives.
Three grandchildren Two great grandchildren Nieces & Nephews survive.
Funeral Services will be held from the Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland, PA, at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, March 19, 2008 with Rev Kirk Marks officiating.
Interment at Citizens cemetery Lavelle, PA. Visitation Wednesday 9:30 - 11:30 AM. at Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Burton to Hospice of Lancaster County, 685 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17604.

Lena M. (Jelus ) Kakiel, 93, Schuylkill Center Pottsville. passed away Thursday, March 20th, 2008 at Schuylkill Center, She was Formerly of Mt. Carmel, PA
Born in Mt. Carmel, PA October 13, 1914 she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Theresa ( Stillo ) Gidaro. She was a former member of St. Peters Church, Mt. Carmel and Grace United Church of Christ, Mt. Carmel, PA. She worked for many years at Lady Jane Manufacturing, Mt. Carmel, PA until retirement. After retirement she enjoyed traveling and singing in the District Choir for 30 years.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Michael Jelus & her second husband Michael Kakiel.
One Daughter one Son survive: Joan wife of Tony Benedict of Pottsville, PA.
Ronald M. husband of Jeanette Jelus of Collageville, PA.
One Brother survives: Louis Gidaro of Mt. Carmel, PA.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, two sisters: Albert, Ralph, Joseph,
Victor, and Daniel. Sisters Anna and Josephine.
Four grandchildren Seven great grandchildren Nieces and Nephews and
Great and Great-Great Nieces & Nephews.
Graveside Services will be held at Charles Baber cemetery, Pottsville, PA, at 1:00 PM on Monday, March 24th, 2008 with Rev. Randolph Ott officiating.
