Ann Marie Pukiewicz, 63, of 216 S. Main Street Shenandoah. passed away Friday, November 16th, 2007 at her residence in Shenandoah, PA.
Born in Shenandoah May 3, 1944 she was the daughter of the late Ronald and Violet Kirk. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Pukiewicz.
Surviving are daughter Jessica Dedney of Ashland and a granddaughter: Alexis
Blase, at home.

Harry "Nipper" Knock, 81, of 2011 Center Street Ashland. passed away Thursday, November 22nd, 2007 peacefully at his residence.
Born in Ashland May 16, 1926 he was the son of the late Harry A. and Gertrude (Frisch) Knock. He was a Member of the First United Methodist Presbyterian Church in Ashland.
He served in the U.S. Army in WW I I and Received the Purple Heart. He served in the Ohio Division 83rd Infantry. He was a graduate of Ashland High School Class of 1945. Last worked for the Kocher Coal Company as a shovel operator until retirement. He was a member of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon; Life member of the Ashland Elks BPOE 384; American Legion Post of Ashland; Scottish Rite Masons;
Ashland Lodge F & A M 254, Ashland; A member of the Bull Run Camp, Renovo, PA;
Western Clinton Sportsman Association.
Surviving are his companion: Lois Damiani, Ashland; two daughters - one son:
Virginia wife of Carl E. kimmel, Billings, MT; Gretchen Lentes, Selinsgrove, PA; &
Keith husband of Brenda Knock, Pitman, PA.
A brother survives: Frank husband of Margaret Knock, Ashland, PA.
Six grandchildren survive: Jonathan Kimmel; Rebecca Kimmel; Matthew Knock; Mark Knock; Brian Lentes; & Zachary Lentes. Nieces & Nephews survive.

William Moyer, 45, of New Hope Road, Buckingham Twp.. passed away Monday, November 26th, 2007 at his residence.
Born in Doylestown, PA February 28, 1962 he was the son of the late William Moyer and Evelyn (Snyder) Moyer of New Hope, Pennsylvania.
He last worked as a Farm Worker at a Horse Farm in New Hope.
Surviving in addition to his Mother are five brothers and sisters:
Aaron, Florida; Tamara, Massachusetts; Nicolai, Jew Jersey; Mary Grace, New Hope, PA; Joshua, Florida.

Dorothy R. Moyer, 87, formerly of Gordon, PA died at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville. passed away Tuesday, December 4th, 2007 at Schuylkill Center
Born in Norristown, PA October 24, 1920 she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Evelyn (Davis) Werner. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Gordon, PA. She graduated from Gilberton Borough High School in 1938 and Ashland State General Hospital School of Nursing in 1942. She retired as Nursing Supervisor at Ashland State General Hospital in 1981. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Ashland Chapter & served as Past Matron. She was a member of the Galleon White Shrine.
She was preceded in death by her husband's: Fred Rice and George Moyer.
One daughter survives; Janet Moyer of Harrisburg, PA.
A sister and a brother survive:Shirley Felker of Ashland, PA and Albert husband of Marie Anderson, Harrisburg, PA.
A sister in law survives: Anna Lee Werner, Richmond, VA.
Two granddaughters survive: Allison and Katie. Nieces, Nephews and Cousins
survive.

John J. “Jack” Berrigan
World War II Veteran

passed away Friday December 7, 2007 at The Pottsville Hospital.
He was born January 6, 1922 in Centralia Pennsylvania.
He was the son of the late John Berrigan Sr. and Anna Ryan Berrigan.
He attended St. Joseph’s Church Ashland, PA. And was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War Post 7654, Ashland PA.
John served in World War II as a Sergeant with the 490th Air Engineer Squadron 386th Air Service Group. He received a Navy Accommodation for serving at Iwo Jima during the Invasion of the Island in 1945. He as was also awarded the Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Service Ribbon, Asiatic Pacific Theater Service Ribbon, Meritorious Unit Award and World War II Victory Ribbons.
Upon his Honorable Discharge from the United States Military, he attended the Philadelphia College of Horology and Gemology and later worked as a Missile Analyst at Omsted Air Force Base in Middletown, PA and also traveled around the country for the United States Government. John and his wife Marigrace owned and operated Berrigan Jewelers in Ashland, PA. He later retired to enjoy life with his Grandchildren and continued to repair jewelry and watches in his spare time up until his passing.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Marigrace Shearn Berrigan and Brother Joseph Berrigan and sisters, Mary Alice Tobias, Sarah McCormick and Helen Keneff.
Surviving family include son, Anthony J. Berrigan and wife Debbie, Ashland, Grandchildren; Jeffrey J. Berrigan and wife Amy, Maryland; Susanne H. Berrigan, Mt. Carmel; Kathleen M. Fracalossi (Berrigan) and husband William, Elysburg; Christine P. Berrigan, Minersville; Regina Miller and husband Tom, Frackville; Sharon Weikel Moser, Close Family Friend, Ashland; Great-grandchildren, Avalyn and Vivian Miller, and brother Tom Berrigan and wife Gloria, Elysburg; Sister, Anne Marie O’Connell, Frackville. Nieces and Nephews.
John will be desperately missed by everyone who knew him. He was a wonderful man who always had a joke, dance, song and smile.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, Dec.12, 2007 in St. Joseph’s Church, Ashland, PA at 10:30 AM. Rev. Adam Sedar will officiate. MARY LOU FRASCH, 79, 1319 Walnut Street, Ashland,
PA died Friday December 14, 2007 at her residence.
Born in Ashland January 11, 1928 she was the daughter
of the late Theodore and Minnie (Price) Heffner. Mary
Lou was a kind and generous friend to all. She could
find the good in everyone. Her family will remember
her as an extraordinary wife, mother, and grandmother.
She had the rare quality of always putting everyone's
welfare before her own. She will be sadly missed by
all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur in 2002.
Two sisters also preceded her in death: Helen
Morrison and Sophie Kitchen.
Surviving are one son, three daughters: Robert
husband of Tammy Frasch, Mt. Carmel, PA; Gail wife of
Tony Balsavage, Taylorsville, PA; Wendy wife of Joseph
Hahn, Frackville, PA; & Donna wife of Bill Blase,
Ashland, PA.
