Delmer E. Trefsger, of 324 Dutchtown Road, Ashland, PA passed away Thursday,
February 5, 2009.
Born January 26, 1921 in Mount Carmel, son of the late William Millard and Alma Hepler Trefsger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Huntzinger in July 1990 and son Delmer (Butch) in June 1994. Two brothers preceded him in death: Steward and Melvin Trefsger.
He was a United States Army Veteran having served in World War II.
Delmer was a rural mail carrier with the Postal Service for 35 years. After his retirement he owned and operated Del‘s Lawnmower Repair for fourteen years..
He was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church., Ashland Lodge No. 294, F & A. M., Past Master, Past High Priest of Griscom Royal Arts Chapter 219, President of Joshua Association, Past commander of Prince of Peace Commandery No. 39, President of Line Officer of Division Seven, Past Trice Illustrious Master Regal Council No. 65, Member York Cross of Honor of Mechanicsburg, President and Secretary of the Ashland Templar Association. He was a member of Tall Cedars of Lebanon, PA.
Surviving are his son Daniel, his wife Romaine, grandson Justin of Ashland., grandson David Trefsger of Delaware and granddaughter Amy Miles of Maryland. Several great-grandchildren. One brother-one sister survive: Donald Trefsger and Lorraine Keiffer of Hatboro, PA.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb. 9, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. from the Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland, PA. Rev. Dana Heckman Beil will officiate.
Interment in the Evangelical cemetery, Hegins, PA.
Visitation Sunday 6:00-8:00 PM at the Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland.
and Monday 10:00-11:00 AM from the Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, North 9th Street,
Ashland, PA 17921. Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland, PA is in charge of arrangements.

Harry "Hack" Ambrose, 94, of 1824 Center Street Ashland. passed away Tuesday, February 10th, 2009 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, PA.
Born in Shenandoah, PA March 1, 1914 he was the son of the late Joseph and Mabel (Davison) Ambrose. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Ashland, PA.
He was a United States Army World War I I veteran. A member of the American Legion Post of Ringtown. He was co-owner of Ringtown Farm Equipment Company in Ringtown until his retirement. He was a member of the Good Fellowship Club in Ashland, PA. And a member of the Ringtown Valley Hunting Camp.
He was preceded in death by his wife Gertrude (Moran) Ambrose.
Surviving are three sisters-one brother: Alma Fenstermacher, Florida; Jean Breisch, Florida; Agnes Adams, Kulpmont, PA; and Joseph husband of Carolyn Ambrose of Allentown, PA Neighbor and caregiver Ellie Rollenhagen, Ashland survives.
A son: Joseph P. Ambrose precede him in death in 1977. Two grandsons- Nieces and Nephews survive.
Preceding him in death were six brothers, two sisters: Thomas, Ralph, John, James,
Paul, Theodore, Shirley Ambrose and Mary Farringer.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at at St. Joseph's Church, Ashland, PA, at 10:00 AM on Friday, February 13th, with Rev. John W. Bambrick officiating.
Interment at St. Joseph's cemetery, Ft. Springs, , PA.
Viewing Thursday 6:00-8:00 PM. at the Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland and Friday 8:30-9:30 AM from the Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Joseph's Church, Ashland, PA or the American Legion Post, Ringtown, PA.

Mary L. Walters, 86, 2128 Center Street, Ashland, PA died unexpectedly at her home in Ashland Tuesday, February 10, 2009.
Born in Ashland August 5, 1922 she was the daughter of the late William and Margaret (Klase) Shutt. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church,
Ashland, PA. Worked for many years for Bell Telephone Co. as an operator until
retirement. She graduated from Ashland High School.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Walters in 1983.
Preceding her in death were four brothers, three sisters:
Jessie, Wade, Walter, John, Alice, Margaret, and Anna.
Nieces & Nephews survive.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009 at 11:00 AM from the Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland, PA. Rev Dana Heckman Beil officiating.
Interment in Christ Church cemetery, Ft. Springs, PA
Visitation Saturday 10:00 - 11:00 AM from the Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home.

Stanley S. Novak, 75, of 919 Walnut Street Ashland. passed away Friday, June 8th, 2007 at his residence in Ashland.
Born in Sheppton, PA October 22, 1931 he was the son of the late Stanley and Mary ( Nativisky ) Novak. He was a United States Army Veteran serving in the
Korean War. Worked at Tri State Envelope Corp., Ashland as head machine adjuster until retirement. He attended Hazleton Schools.
Surviving are his wife Diane (Gressens) Novak, Ashland.
A son & daughter: Mark of Mt. Home, Idaho; and Natasha at home.
One Brother: survives: Joseph Novak, of Sheppton, PA.
Two brothers preceded him in death: Albert and Matthew Novak.
One grandson survives........ Nieces and nephews
Memorial Service will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, North 9th St. Ashland, PA, at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 12th, with Rev. Dana Heckman-Beil officiating.
Interment at convenience of the Family at Indiantown Gap National cemetery Annville, PA. Visitation Tuesday 10:00-11:00 AM. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church., North 9th St. Ashland, PA. Memorial contributions can be made to the

James L. Ney, 67, of Broad Mt. View Drive, Jim Thorpe. passed away Sunday, February 15th, 2009 at Parkhouse Nursing Center, Royersford, PA.
Born in Ashland, PA, July 27, 1941 he was the son of the late Lewis and Helen
Eister Ney. He attended St. Mauritius School in Ashland and graduated from Father Judge High School in Philadelphia, PA. Worked at Standard Press Steel as a machinist until his retirement in 2005. He was a United States Army veteran serving in Vietnam and was a member of the V.F.W. Post in Roslyn, PA.
He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy R. (Crabtree) Ney, August 2007.
Surviving are a daughter and two sons:Patricia Ney of Hatfield, PA.
Lewis Ney, Hatfield, PA., and James P. Ney of Sellersville, PA.
A sister survives Dorothy Ney, Jim Thorpe, PA.
Two grandchildren: Haily & Kyle survive... Nieces & Nephews survive.

St. Mauritius Church, Ashland, PA. Rev. John Bambrick officiating.

Elma F. Quick, 90, former resident of Ft. Springs, PA died Friday, February 20th, 2009 at Mt. Carmel Nursing Center, Mt. Carmel, PA
Born in Butler Twp., PA November 14, 1918 she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Gertrude (Hawk) Dimler. She was a member of Christ Congregational Church,
Ft. Springs and graduated from Ashland High School.
She was preceded in death by her husband Emerson Quick in 1994.
A brother and a sister preceded her in death: Jake Dimler and Effie Bradley.
Surviving are a daughter: Gail Miller, Ashland; grandson: Troy Miller of Ashland and a niece Clare Dimler of Maryland.
Funeral Service will be held at Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland, PA, at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 23rd, 2009.
Interment at Christ Church cemetery, Ft. Springs, PA.
Visitation Monday 10:00-11:00 AM. at the Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland.

Catherine E. Weidensaul, 76, formerly of Ashland, PA died at Manor Care, Pottsville, PA Friday, February 20th, 2009.
Born in Lavelle, PA September 27, 1932 she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Christine (Klusman) Miller. She was a member of St. Mauritius Church, Ashland
She was a registered nurse where she worked at Danville State Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospital for 25 years until her retirement.
She was a member of the Alter Rosary Society, St. Mauritius Church; V.F.W. Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas H. Weidensaul in 2000.
Three children preceded her in death: Thomas H; Denise Ann & Dennis.
Three daughters-one son survives: Christine wife of William Mehlbaum of Ashland, PA.; Gail wife of John Ahrensfield of Ashland, PA.; Bernadette wife of Donald Schwalm of Middleburg, PA.; and Thomas husband of Christine Weidensaul of Ashland, PA.
Five grandchildren survive: Aryn Mehlbaum; Rachel & Kyle Weidensaul; Rebecca & Paul Ahrensfield. Nieces & Nephews survive
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at at St. Mauritius Church, Ashland, PA, at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, February 24th, with Rev. John W. Bambrick officiating.
Interment at Indiantown Gap National cemetery Annville, PA.
Visitation Monday 6:00-8:00 PM. from the Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home and Tuesday 9:00-10:00 AM from the Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland, PA
