George H. Young, 84, of Airport Road Ashland, PA passed away Thursday, January 15th, 2009 at St. Catherine Medical Center, Ft. Springs, PA.
Born in Ashland February 24, 1924 he was the son of the late Charles and Anna Patterson Young. He was of the Reformed Faith. Attended Butler Twp. Schools and the G.I. School for mechanics.Worked at Goyne Pump Company in Ashland until his retirement.
He was a United States Army World War I I veteran. Member of the American Legion Post and V.F.W. Post's of Ashland, PA. He was an avid golfer.
Surviving are four sisters-three brothers: Mae Dudas of Kilmer, N J., Helen Eichert of Ponciduea, FL., Joan Blevins of Tenn., Mary Lou Frankavigia of Arizona.
Brother(s): Lewis Young of Ashland, PA., Leo Young of Gordon, PA., Walter Young of Salisbury, MD.
One sister preceded him in death: Ethel Young, and three brothers preceded him in death: Charles, Joseph, & Thomas Young.

Funeral Service will be held from the Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland, PA, at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 20th, with Rev. Roger Snyder officiating.
Interment at Christ Church cemetery Ft. Springs, PA.
Visitation Tuesday 9:00-11:00 AM. at Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland, PA

Dorothy Weikel, 72, of 1302 Walnut Street Ashland. passed away Friday, January 16th, 2009 at St. Catherine Medical Center, Ft. Springs, PA.
Born in Shamokin, PA January 9, 1936 she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Thelma Shervanick. She attended Ashland School and was of the Protestant Faith
She is survived by her husband Edward Weikel.
Two sons survive: Kenneth Weikel of Ashland, PA., Edward Weikel of Ashland, PA.
A granddaughter Justine Weikel living in Virginia survives
Nieces & Nephews survive
A sister; Nancy Weikel of preceded her in death.
Funeral Services will be held from the Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland, PA, at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 19th, with Rev. Dana Heckman-Beil officiating.
Interment at Brock cemetery, Ashland, PA.
Visitation Monday 9:00-11:00 AM. from the Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland

CLARA M. DEVINE, 75, of 427 Center Street, Aristes, PA died Sunday, Jan. 18, '09 at the home of her daughter Mary Catherine surrounded by her family.
She was a loving Mom, Gram & Baba, is now sitting at the right hand of our Lord.
Clara was born in Ashland, PA November 18, 1933 the daughter of the late
Michael and Clara (Shoemaker) Cunningham. She would have been married 57 years on January 19th, 2009 to the late Harry "Sam" Devine. Her husband died in 2002. They lived in Centralia for 45 years before moving to Arises eight years ago.
Clara's most precious gifts were her children, grandchildren, and great grand children.
She was active in her church, St. Ignatius in Centralia where she held the office of Secretary of the Alter Society. She taught CCD at St. Ignatius, Centralia and MOC in Mt. Carmel. She was active in the Girl Scouts & Cub Scouts in Centralia. She was the Notary Public in Centralia & held a seat on the election board as judge of election. Clara enjoyed reading, sewing, camping, crocheting, & making home made gifts for her children and grand children. Preceding her in death were one sister-three brothers: Dot Krynitsky; Michael, John, & Vincent
She is survived b four daughters - two sons:
Elizabeth wife of Michael Chapman, Coal Twp., PA; Vincent husband of Sara (Graham) Devine, Aristes; Regina wife of Richard "Winger" Eckert, Aristes; Harry husband of Donna (Mileuski) Devine, Shenandoah; Clara Ann Hollenbach, Mt. Carmel; & Mary Catherine Devine, Aristes, PA & her conpanion Jess Snyder of Northumberland, PA.
Clara leaves behind 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, a dog Dinks, and
"her girl" Linda Ososkie. One sister- one brother survive: Betty Hicks, Florida; Henry Cunningham, Indiana.The following in-laws survive:
Robert & Anne Marie Devine; Eugene & Julie Valencik; Marie Wade; Dianne McDonald; Donna Eroh; Annette Devine; Avis Devine; Eileen Cunningham; & Pete Krynitsky. Many great nieces & nephews survive.
She will be greatly missed by her family & friends.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held Thursday, Jan.22, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. in
St. Joseph's Church, Ashland, PA. Interment in St. Ignatius cemetery, Centralia, PA
Viewing Wednesday evening 6:00-8:00 P.M. from the Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home
Ashland and Thursday 8:30-9:30 AM from the Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made to V&A Hospice, 21 W. Independent St., Shamokin, PA.

MARTHA MAGDEBURG, 86, of 307 South 9th Street, Ashland,
PA died Friday, Jan. 30, 2009 at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA
surrounded by her family after a brief illness.
Born in Good Spring, PA August 1, 1923 she was the daughter of the late Frank and Edna Gaslom Neidlinger. She was a member of Zion Reformed UCC, Ashland, PA.
She attended Butler Twp. Schools.
She was married in 1946 to the late William B. Magdeburg who preceded her in death in 1998.
Surviving are one son, two daughters: William R. husband of Diane Magdeburg, Gordon, PA; Viola wife of William Wright of Ashland and Julie Menne at home and her fiancé Earl Dallabrida of Natalie, PA.
Nine Grandchildren survive: Laurie wife of Daniel Hood, Locust Gap; Tracey Magdeburg, Maggie Valley, N.C.; William R. husband of Connie Magdeburg, Pottsville, PA; Nicole Quick, Ashland, PA; Benjamin L. Magdeburg and his companion Jenny; Mary Crochet, Lumberton, TX; Cheryl wife of Howard Heyer, Lavelle, PA; & Martha Klinger, Reading, PA.
13 great grandchildren survive: Timothy Parfait; Ivan Quick; Daniel Hood Jr.; Teddy Fishburn; Tommy Magdeburg; Emily Crochet; William Crochet; Savanah
Magdeburg; Hannah & Sarah Magdeburg; Juelz Alicea; Autumn Hassler and
Lian Magdeburg.
She was preceded in death by a daughter: Carol Klinger, 1999. Two brothers preceded her in death Robert and Leroy (Buddy) Neidlinger.
Four sisters preceded her in death: Jen Hersch, Alma Neidlinger, Dorothy McManus & Elizabeth Webster.
Nieces and nephews survive.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009 at 11:00 AM from the Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland, PA. Rev. Roger Snyder officiating.
Interment in Sunnyside cemetery, Lavelle, PA. Visitation Wednesday 9:00-11:00 A.M. from the Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland, PA.

Fay C. Ossman, 67, of 40 Tiley Road Ashland., passed away at 6:00 PM, Friday, January 30th, 2009 at her residence.
Born in Lavelle, PA March 12, 1941 she was the daughter of the late Arlington and
Sylvia (Kramer) Shoemaker. She graduated from Ashland Area Class of 1959.
Later working in local garment industries until her retirement.
She is survived by her husband Donald Ossman, Ashland, PA.
One son survives: Donald husband of Lori Ossman of Ashland, PA.
One brother one sister survive: George Shoemaker, Valley View, PA;
Karen Monaghan, Hegins, PA.
Three grandchildren: Schuyler; Jarod; Carissa. Nieces & Nephews survive
Graveside Services will be held at Christ Church cemetery, Ft.Springs, PA, at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 4th, with Rev. Dana Heckman-Beil officiating.
Interment at Christ Church cemetery Ft. Springs, PA.

Elizabeth A. Dolan, 85, of 927 Walnut Street Ashland. passed away Saturday, January 31st, 2009.
Born in Ashland October 18, 1923 she was the daughter of the late Herman and Agnes Graeber Bolich. She was a member of St. Mauritius Church, Ashland, PA
Graduated from Ashland High School Class of 1941. Was a member of the Catholic Daughters; Friends of St. Joseph's; V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, Ashland; American Hose Co. Ladies Auxiliary; Alter Rosary Society where she served as Treasurer;
and the Daughters of Charity.
She was preceded in death by her husband William John Dolan in 1996.
Six children survive: Agnes Marie Woodward, Camp Hill, PA; William J. Dolan Jr.,
Chantilly, VA; Catherine Hessler, Sinking Spring, PA; Dr. Michael J. Dolan, Bethlehem, PA; Barbara Stief, Mt. Carmel, PA; & James Dolan, Camp Hill, PA.
One sister: Helen Gesting, Midland, Texas survives
One sister one brother preceded her in death: Catherine Geary & Louis Bolich.
Nine grandchildren, 1 great grandchild survive. Nieces & Nephews survive.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at at St. Mauritius Church, Ashland, PA, at 10:00 AM on Thursday, February 5th, with Rev. John W. Bambrick officiating.
Interment in St. Mauritius cemetery, Ashland, PA.

Hazel D. McGinley, 83, of 1514 Spruce Street Ashland. passed away Wednesday, February 4th, 2009 at St. Catherine Medical Center, Ft. Springs, , PA.
Born in Ashland, PA February 6, 1925 she was the daughter of the late Ralph and
Ruth (Bye) Oestreich. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Ashland were she was past President of the Friends of St. Joseph's. She graduated from Ashland High School Class of 1942. Hazel organized and planned trips abroad as well as domestic trips taking her to every state in the United States and many foreign countries.
She was preceded in death by her husband:Joseph McGinley.
Preceding her in death was a daughter Kathy in 1997.
Surviving are three sons, one daughter: Ruth Ann wife of Dennis Smith, Baldwon, MD.; Joseph husband of Rita McGinley, Ashland; Michael husband of Susan
McGinley, Mahanoy Plane, PA; & Timothy husband of Lisa McGinley, RR1 Ashland.
A sister survives: Esther Pittello, Chicopee, Mass.
Twelve grandchildren survive: Dennis, Brian & Kevin Smith; Joseph, Mark, Shawn, Bryan McGinley; Meredith, Michael, Stephanie McGinley; Erin & Matthew McGinley.
Six great grandchildren survive Nieces & Nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at at St. Joseph's Church, Ashland, PA, at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 7th, with Rev. John W. Bambrick officiating.
Interment at St. Joseph's cemetery Ft. Springs, , PA.
Viewing Friday 6:00-9:00 P.M from the Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home and Saturday
8:30-9:30 AM from the Funeral Home.
