Daniel H. Kardos
Daniel H. Kardos, 70, of Coopersburg, died Dec. 16, 2003 at the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Twp.
Born in Lower Saucon Township, he was the son of the late Frank and Jennie (Gross) Kardos.
Prior to retiring he was employed by James D. Morrissey, Inc., Philadelphia and Bethlehem Steel.
He was a life member of the Springtown Vol. Fire Co. and a member of the Silver Creek Athletic Asso., Springfield Twp.
He is survived by one sister, Ethel Seifert of Pleasant Valley, nieces and nephews.
Services were held Dec. 19.

Margaret H. Jenkins
Services were held for Margaret H. Jenkins, 68, of Easton, who passed away on Feb. 10, 2004 at the VNA Hospice at St. Luke’s in Fountain Hill.
She was the wife of Richard B. Jenkins. They were married
for 47 years.
Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Anna (Bodak) Hrivnak.
She was a member of St. George’s Episcopal Church, Hellertown.
In addition to her husband she is survived by a son, James R. of River Forest, Ill.; a daughter, Janice L. Albertson, Hellertown; a brother, John Hrivnok of Bethlehem; a sister, Anna Martin of Bethlehem; and five grandchildren.

Glenn L. Helms
Services were held for Glenn L. Helms, 79, of Hellertown, who passed away Feb. 10, 2004 in the St. Luke’s Hospital, Fountain Hill.
Born in Lower Saucon Township, he was the son of the late William F. Sr., and Ethel I. (Hineline) Helms.
Prior to retiring he was employed as Industrial Arts Instructor for Bethlehem Area School District, teaching at Broughal Middle School, Easthills Middle School, and retiring from Nitchmann Middle School. While teaching at Broughal Mr. Helms and a group of 8th graders were honored by having an exhibit at the National Industrial Arts Convention in Philadelphia.
He was a past president of the PA Nut Growers Association and was currently serving on the Board, and a member of the Northern Nut Growers Association.
He is survived by cousins. He was predeceased by a sister, Doris Helms and a brother, William F.

Bruce Yonney
Services were held for Bruce Yonney, 51, of Hellertown, died Saturday, March 27, 2004 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Fountain Hill.
He was the husband of Karen A. (Ackerman) Yonney, celebrating their 29th wedding anniversary on April 27.
Born in Fountain Hill, he is the son of Paul W. & Pauline J. (Heft) Yonney of Lower Saucon Township.
He was employed with the Borough of Hellertown in the Street Department since 2000. He had also worked at Allentown Refrigerator Terminals, Boyertown, for 28 years until 2000.
He was a graduate of the Saucon Valley High School in 1971. He was a member of First United Church of Christ, Hellertown.
He was involved with the Christ Lutheran Church, Youth Group; Dart Team at First UCC; coached Hellertown-Lower Saucon Little League; involved in Boy Scout Troop 349, all in Hellertown.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by: a son, Nathan B., and a daughter, Julie Rea, both at home; brothers, Richard A. and Ronald, both of Lower Saucon Twp. and Barry of Hellertown.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Borough of Hellertown Parks, care of the funeral home.

Henry R. Yerkes
Services were held for Henry “ Harry” Ross Yerkes, 68, of Coopersburg, who passed away on Mar. 24, 2004 in Fountain Hill.
He was the husband of Verna (Harper) Yerkes. They were married
for 47 years.
Born in Southampton, he was the son of the late John and Helen Yerkes.
He was employed by Shulmerick Carillions in Sellersville for more than 30 years before his retirement in 2001.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by: three children, Michael and Matthew, at home, and Marietta Karuza, of Coopersburg; eight siblings, Joseph of Texas, William, Earl, and Helen Ditmer, all of Quakertown, Adele Winkler of Pennsburg, Estelle Schafer and Mary Yerkes, both of Perkasie, and Mabel Wieand of Allentown; and one grandchild. He was predeceased by a brother John and sister Bonnie.

Ardyth L. Hersch Garner
Services were held for Ardyth L. Hersch Garner, 63, of Allentown who passed away on May 31, 2004 at her residence.
She was the wife of the late Norman Garner.
Born in Allentown she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Minnie (Singer) Stoudt.
She was a member of St. John’s UCC in Allentown and the Lehigh County Association for the Blind.
She is survived by three sons, Keith A. Hersch of San Diego, Calif., Leo F. Hersch, Jr. of Hagerstown, Md. and Donald E. Hersch of Coplay; a daughter, LaRue A. Jacobs of Coplay; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Samuel L. Hersch.

Joseph F. Molnar
Services were held for Joseph F. Molnar, 87, of Hellertown who passed away on June 4, 2004 at Pennsburg Manor, Pennsburg.
He was the husband of the late Helen F. (Frey) Molnar.
Born in Bethlehem he was the son of the late Michael and Ethel (Boros) Molnar.
Prior to retiring in 1979 he was employed by Bethlehem Steel.
He was a member of St. John’s Capistrano Catholic Church, Bethlehem.
Mr. Molnar served with the U.S. Navy during WWII.
He is survived by daughters, Helen J. Keller of East Mckeesport, and Joan M. Girard of Gilbertsville; and six grandchildren.

William Horvath, Sr.
Services were held for William Horvath, Sr., 85, of Hellertown, who passed away on July 28, 2004, in Bethlehem.
He was the husband of Elsie (Davis) Horvath. They were married
for 54 years.
Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late John and Julia (Nemeth) Horvath.
Prior to retiring in 1980, he was employed by the former Bethlehem Corp.
He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, serving in the Pacific Theatre.
He was a member of St. John Capistrano Catholic Church, Bethlehem.
He was a life member of both the Hellertown American Legion and the Hellertown V.F.W. He was also a member of the MORA Club in Bethlehem.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son William, Jr. at home; a brother, Alex of Lehigh Acres, Fla.; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by siblings, John, Joseph and Irene Hanus.

Wendy Ann Morawski
Services were held for Wendy Ann Morawski, 38, of Hellertown, who lost her battle with cancer on July 29, 2004, at the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Twp.
She was the wife of Mark Morawski.
Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of Barry Danner of New Tripoli and Nancy (McElroy) Horvath of Kunkletown.
She worked at Tarkett, in Whitehall for many years.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by a son, Nicolas; a step-son, Matthew of Kansas City, Mo; a brother, Shawn M. of Slatington; maternal grandmother, Dorothy (Daubenspeck) McElroy of Allentown; step-father, Louis T. Horvath of Kunkletown; step-mother, Colleen G. (Cunningham) of New Tripoli; step-brothers, Ronald Horvath, and Louis Horvath both of Easton; step-sisters, Melody Seas of Roseta, Wendy Seidel of Allentown and Melissa Weierbach of Germansville; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
