Helen M. Waldron

Helen M. Waldron, 84, of 25 Park St., West Hazleton, died late Saturday evening at the Mountain City Nursing Center, Hazleton, where she was a guest.

Born in West Hazleton, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Helen (Rudis) Petrovich, and lived in the West Hazleton area all of her life.

She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, West Hazleton.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, Charles J. Waldron, on Feb. 13, 1989, and brothers and sisters.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Surviving are a son, James Waldron, South Bend, Ind.; daughter, Mrs. Gary (Debra) Sieverski, with whom she resided; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Nieces and nephews also survive.

The funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. from the Hilary J. Bonin Funeral Home, 99 W. Green St., West Hazleton, followed at 10 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis of Assisi R.C. Church.

Burial will follow in Calvary cemetery, Drums.

Friends may call at the funeral home today from 6 to 9 p.m. A Christian wake service will be held.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Francis of Assisi R.C. Church, 544 N. Broad St., West Hazleton.

Frank Zavasky

Frank Zavasky, of 88 Highland R.D. 1, Freeland, died Monday morning at the Mountain City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Hazleton.

He was a member of St. Casimir's Roman Catholic Church, Freeland and is survived by his wife, the former Emily Ray.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by the McHugh-Wilczek Funeral Home, Freeland.

John H. Prokop

John H. Prokop, 67, of 701 W. 24th St., Hazleton, died Monday at his residence.

Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the Mark S. Harman Funeral Home Inc., (East) 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums.

Elsie Jane Wynn

Elsie Jane Wynn, 85, of Wright Township, died Monday morning at her home.

Born in Dembo, April 12, 1917, she was the daughter of the late William and Cora Gwynn and was a former resident of Cleveland, Ohio having resided in Mountaintop since 1957.

Prior to retirement, she had been employed as a cafeteria worker at the American Cigar Company at the Crestwood Industrial Park and was a Sunday School teacher for the former Albert Wesleyan Church, Mountaintop.

Mrs. Wynn was also a member of Mountain View Community Church, White Haven.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents were, sisters, Ellen and Betty Gwynn; brothers, William and Les Gwynn.

Surviving are her daughter, Nancy Wynn; son, Douglas Wynn, both of Mountaintop; sister, Margaret Tewell, Cleveland, Ohio; and a brother, Ralph Gwynn, Brownsville.

One grandson also survives.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. from the McCune Funeral Home, 80 S. Mountain Blvd., Mountaintop.

The Rev. Kevin J. Payne, pastor of the Mountain View Community Church, will officiate.

Interment will be in the Albert cemetery, Wright Township.

Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Robert L. Herring

Robert L. Herring, 73, of White Haven, died Saturday at his residence.

Born in Freeland, he was the son of the late David and Margaret (Krouse) Herring, a staff sergeant in the Air Force and a member of St. Peter's and Paul's Lutheran Evangelical Church, Freeland.

He was employed at the White Haven Center as a maintenance repairman and was a member of the Masonic Lodge.

Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, was his step-grandson, Joshua Roberts.

Surviving are his wife, Sharon Herring; son, Robert R. Herring, Freeland; daughter, Terri Lynn Faust, Danville; brothers, John Herring, White Haven, Gary Herring, Arizona; sister, Shirley Herness, Freeland; step-children, Scott Evans, Freeland, Sherie Roberts, Mountaintop, Lori Dickson, Delaware, and Shawn Evans, Bear Creek.

One grandchild, three step-grandchildren and one great- grandchild also survive.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. from the Mountainview Free Methodist Church, White Haven. The Rev. Kevin Payne, pastor will officiate.

Interment will follow in Laurel cemetery, White Haven.

Friends may call today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Joseph E. Lehman Funeral Home Inc., 403 Berwick St., White Haven and Wednesday at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service.

Kathleen M. Reimiller

Kathleen M. Reimiller, 46, of 1501 E. Broad St., Hazleton, Apt. B-7, died Sunday evening at her residence.

Born in Hazleton May 13, 1956, she was the daughter of Walter Shumate, Roscoe, N.Y. and Margaret (Smith) Shumate, Hazleton. She spent her early years in the Hazleton area and then traveled extensively with her family as her father toured with the military.

Mrs. Reimiller had been employed as a LPN at the former Hazleton General Hospital and at St. Luke Pavilion. She had also worked with Hospice Saint John.

While working as a Hospice Saint John representative, she helped to organize and open the Weinberg House where she served as an administrator at one time.

A born-again Christian, she and her family were active in both the Faith Assembly of God and the New Life Family Church. She served as Children's Pastor at Faith Assembly and in general enjoyed working with young children of both churches. Beyond her children's ministry, she frequently ministered to residents of Providence Place, Drums.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of 29 years, George W. Reimiller; daughters, Kathleen Santiago, Hazleton and Maureen Lee Reimiller, Ellendale, N.D.; sons, George W. Reimiller Jr., Deering, N.H., and Christopher John Reimiller, Hazleton; stepmother, Gerri Shumate, Roscoe, N.Y.; brothers, Billy Shumate, Las Vegas, Nev., the Rev. Daniel Shumate, Camp Hill; sisters, Peggy Shumate, Baltimore, Md., Sharon Rose Metz; half-sister, and Mrs. Mark (Faith) Evans, Youngsville, N.Y.

One grandson and seven nieces and nephews also survive.

A memorial service will be held at the Faith Assembly of God Church, Fox Manor, Hazleton, Sunday beginning at 4 p.m. The service will be conducted jointly by her brother, the Rev. Dan Shumate and her pastors, Wayde Wilson, of Faith Assembly of God, and Joel East, of the New Life Family Church.

Disposition will be at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the Krapf and Hughes Funeral Home Inc., Hazle Chapel, 426 W. Broad St., Hazleton.

Memorial Donations may be sent to the Faith Assembly of God Church, Fox Manor, Hazleton, Pa. 18201 or to the New Life Family Church, Alter St. and Diamond Ave., Hazleton Pa., 18201.

John B. Popalis

Joseph B. Popalis, 83, 8763 Gillespie Street, Philadelphia, died Oct. 20.

Born in Shenandoah, Sept. 11, 1919, he was the son of the late Joseph G. and Anna (Lokitis) Popalis.

He was a 1938 graduate of J.W. Cooper High School, Shenandoah.

Mr. Popalis was a member of St. Dominic's Church, Philadelphia.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1939, place of entry was Langly Air Field, Va.

Mr. Popalis attained the rank of Master Sgt. and become Aircraft Engineer Chief with the 814th Air Engineering Squadron, 15th Air Service Group, Eighth Air Force Graterford, England.

Mr. Popalis was awarded the Good Conduct Medal with Clasp, American Defense Service Medal, American Theatre Service Medal, European African Middle Eastern Service Medal.

Upon return at the end of World War II, he was employed at the Elliot Motor Co., Boweford, and later with the Klitzner Ford and, after relocating to Philadelphia, the Schmidt Brewery until retirement.

Surviving are his wife Leona (Buro) Popalis; a son, Joseph; brothers, Albert, Tampa, Fla.; Andrew, Shenandoah. Nieces and nephews also survive.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held in St. Dominic's Church, Philadelphia, on Saturday.

Burial was held in St. Dominic's parish cemetery.

Nogence M. Consorti

Nogence M Consorti, Temple Hills, Md., died Nov. 3 in Maryland.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Neil Cerrito Sr., Francis Cerrito, and Michael Cerrito.

Surviving are her husband, Pasquale Consorti; a daughter and son, Patricia Chambers and Joseph Consorti; four grandchildren; sisters, Lena Stagenick, Drums; Theresa Procaccini, Virginia, and brothers, Cerrito and Anthony Cerrito Jr., both of Hazleton.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at Mount Calvary Catholic Church, 6702 Malboro Pike, Forestville, Md., on Nov. 6.

Burial was held Nov. 7 at Interment Resurrection cemetery.

Joseph G. Rockovich

Joseph G. Rockovich, 75, of 241 W. Green St., West Hazleton, and a guest at the Providence Place, Drums, died Sunday morning in the emergency room of the Greater Hazleton Health Alliance Church Street Campus.

Born in Cranberry, he was the son of the late Paul and Alexandria (Genako) Rockovich, and resided in the West Hazleton Area for most of his life.

He was a World War II veteran and served in the Navy in the Pacific Theater of Operations. Mr. Rockovich was a member of the Walter L. Hagelgan's Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8253 of West Hazleton.

He was a member of Transfiguration Roman Catholic Church, West Hazleton; the Berwick Golf Club, where he was an avid golfer Mr. Rockovich enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening.

Prior to retiring, Mr. Rockovich was employed for 35 years as a lineman with the Pennsylvania Power and Light Co.

Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were a brother, Edward Rockovich.

Surviving are sisters and brother, Mary Jarick, a resident of Providence Place, Drums; Bernard N. Rockovich, Hazleton; Stanley, West Hazleton. Nieces and nephews also survive.

The funeral will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. from the Hilary J. Bonin Funeral Home, 99 W. Green St., West Hazleton, followed at 9:30 a.m. in Transfiguration Roman Catholic Church, West Hazleton.

Burial will be follow in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. A Christian Wake service will be held.

Memorial donations may be made to Transfiguration Roman Catholic Church, 213 W. Green St., West Hazleton.
