Jean M. Biskupics
Jean M. Biskupics, 67, of Pardeesville, died Tuesday evening at the Medical College of Philadelphia Hospital.
Born in Hazleton, she was the daughter of Dorothy (Yacowatz) Gadola, Hollywood, Fla., and the late John Gadola Sr.
She was of the Protestant faith and was a hairdresser and homemaker.
Biskupics was a graduate of Hazle Township High School and the Empire Beauty School.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her father, was a brother William Gadola.
Surviving in addition to her mother are a son, David Biskupics, at home; daughter, Mrs. John (Maria) DeBalso, Duryea; sister, Carole Getz, Hollywood, Fla., Donna Boretski, Pardeesville; and brothers, John Gadola Jr., Levittown, Joseph Gadola, Pardeesville, and Anthony Gadola, Meshoppen.
Nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Damiano Funeral Home, Blaine and Cleveland streets, McAdoo.
The Rev. Sandy Piccione will officiate and burial will follow in Mount Laurel Memorial Park, Hazleton.
Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.

Anna C. Maurer-Cahill
Anna C. Maurer-Cahill, 89, of Pottsville, and formerly of Mahanoy City, passed away at 12:25 a.m., Saturday, at Manor Care Health Service, Pottsville.
Born in Shenandoah, January 7, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (Karas) Palek and was a self-employed grocer, who owned and operated Maurer’s Market, Mahanoy City, until her retirement.
She was a member of St. Canicus Roman Catholic Church, Mahanoy City.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, Henry T. Cahill and her first husband, Frederick Maurer.
Surviving are her step-daughter, Mrs. Jack (Mary F.) Smith, Lakeland, Fla. and a sister, Helen Susserman, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one niece and one nephew also survive.
A memorial mass will be held in St. Canicus Roman Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m., Nov. 15, with the Rev. William Glosser officiating.
Interment will be in St. Stephen’s cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.

Cecelia R. Krull
Cecelia R. Krull, RR Box 1694, Freeland, died Sunday afternoon at the Mountain City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Hazleton.
Born in Highland, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Theresa Halko.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a registered nurse in the New Jersey area.
She was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Freeland.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, was her husband, Andrew Krull, in 1977.
Surviving are her caregivers and niece, Chester and MaryAnn Poch, Pompton Lakes, N.J., and an additional niece and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. from the McHugh-Wilczek Funeral Home, 249 Centre St., Freeland.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Freeland.
Burial will be in St. John’s cemetery, Freeland.
Friends may call at the funeral home, Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
The Freeland Roman Catholic Community Bereavement Committee will conduct a Christian Wake Service Wednesday evening.

William ‘Goat’ Myers
William “Goat” Myers, 334 Washington St., Freeland, died Sunday at the Lehigh Valley Medical Center, Allentown.
Born in Hazleton, he was the son of Isabel Myers, Freeland, and the late Joseph D. Myers, and had resided in Freeland most of his life.
He was an aide at the White Haven State School and retired after 27 years of service.
Mr. Myers was a member of St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, Freeland, the White Haven Knights of Columbus, and the Freeland Lions Club. He was extremely active in the Freeland Little League and served as a player agent.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are sons, William “BJ” Myers, Jeremy D. Myers, both of Freeland; daughter, Jessica Myers, Freeland; brothers, Joseph D. Myers, Long Island, N.Y., Robert Myers, Florida, Richard Myers, Freeland; sisters, Mrs. Joseph (Joan) Sando, Hazleton, Mrs. Robert (Maureen) Cherenyack, Conyngham, Patricia Kirk, Schwenksville, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held, Friday at 8:30 a.m. from the McHugh-Wilczek Funeral Home, 249 Centre St., Freeland.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. in St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, Freeland.
Burial will be in St. Ann’s cemetery, Freeland.

Michael P. Mrazik Jr.
Michael P. Mrazik Jr., 84, of East Walnut St., Hazleton, died Sunday at the Greater Hazleton Health Alliance, Broad Street Campus, following a lengthy illness.
Born in Hazleton August 21, 1918, he was the son of the late Michael P. and Rose (Bosco) Mrazik Sr., and spent most of his life in Hazleton and also lived in South Carolina and St. Johns.
He was an Army veteran of World War II and worked as a welder for Air Products, Wilkes-Barre. Prior to retirement, he also worked as a guard for the Greaterford State Prison, Bellefont.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents was his wife, Irene (Schagen) Mrazik, in 1998.
Surviving are his sons, Michael, Drums and David, Hubert, N.C.
Five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. from the Mark S. Harman Funeral Home Inc., (East) 669 West Butler Drive, Drums, with the Rev. George Koehler officiating.
Burial will follow in the Mt. Laurel Memorial Park, Hazleton.
Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Fred Petruska
Fred Petruska, Holly Lynn Circle, Hazleton, died Sunday night at the Greater Hazleton Health Alliance Broad Street Campus.
Born in Upper Lehigh, he was the son of Susan Petruska, Hazleton, and the late Fred Petruska Sr.
Mr. Pretruska moved to Linden, N.J., where he worked as an assemblyman for General Motors. He moved back to Hazleton in 1978.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his father, was a brother, George.
Surviving are his wife, the former Victoria Figueiredo; sons, Pastor John Petruska, Fort Myers, Fla.; Fred Petruska, Magnolia, Texas; a daughter, Mrs. John (JoAnn) Fedosh, Hazleton; sisters, Mrs. John (Elizabeth) Blanar, Somerville, N.J.; Mrs. Joseph (Emma) LaRock, Hazleton; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services, under the direction Fierro Funeral Service Inc., will be held at the family’s convenience.

Linda L. Pear
Linda L. Pear, 53, of Drums, died Sunday in Piscataway, N.J.
A resident of Drums for the last six years, she previously resided in North Plainfield, N.J., for 27 years.
Born December 18, 1948, in Newark, N.J., she was the daughter of Alfred J. and Gloria C. (Ackerman) Nugent, Piscataway, N.J.
Mrs. Pear was a 1968 graduate from Ducret Art School, Plainfield, N.J., and a 1966 graduate of Piscataway High School.
She was employed at Bradley’s Department Store, South Plainfield, N.J., in the accounts payable department for 15 years, having retired in 1996 and was very involved in her community in Drums.
Surviving in addition to her parents, are her husband, William K. Pear, Drums; son, William Pear Jr.; brother, Charles A. Nugent, Newark, Del.; and a grandson.
A memorial service will be held at the Sheenan Funeral Home 233 Dunellen Ave., Dunellen, N.J., Wednesday at 7 p.m.
Burial will be private.

Richard J. Yevak Sr.
Richard J. Yevak Sr., 69, of Allentown, formerly of Hazleton, died Sunday at St. Luke’s Hospital, Fountainville.
Born in Hazleton, July 8, 1933, he was the son of the late Andrew and Mary Fortuna Yevak.
He was a graduate of Penn State University.
Mr. Yevak was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians, Allentown.
Mr. Yevak served in the Marine Corps, where he was a lieutenant colonel.
Surviving are his wife the former, Lenore D. Chernesky; Dr. Richard J. Yevak Jr., Charlotte, N.C.; Ronald C. Yevak, Bethlehem; Robert S. Yevak, Edison, N.J.; daughter, Renee A. Miller, York, and five grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Our Lady Help of Christians, Hanover Avenue, Allentown.
