Edward J. O’Holla
Edward J. O’Holla, 89, of 306 Winters Ave., West Hazleton, died Thursday at the Greater Hazleton Health Alliance, Broad Street campus.
Born in Hazleton, he was the son of the late Jacob and Mary (Leonard) O’Holla and resided in the West Hazleton area most of his life.
He was previously employed by the John R. Gallagher Buick Dealership, West Hazleton, as a mechanic and retired from the West Hazleton Borough Streets Department.
He was a member of Transfiguration Roman Catholic Church, West Hazleton, and a past member of the Thaddeus Kosciuszko Club of West Hazleton.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents were his wife, the former Agnes Sieptietowski, in 1980; and brothers, Thomas, Stanley, and Henry O’Holla.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. John (Marlene) Mirtich, Long Valley, N.J.; and a son, Edward R. O’Holla, Hazleton; two grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Helen Lonzer, West Hazleton.
Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held today at 9:45 a.m. from the Hilary J. Bonin Funeral Home, 99 W. Green St., West Hazleton.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in Transfiguration R.C. Church.
Interment will follow in Calvary cemetery, Drums.
Friends may call today at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of service.

Charles S. Schadder
Charles S. Schadder, formerly of Lincoln Street, Hazleton, died Thursday afternoon at The Mountain City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, where he was a guest.
Born in Uniontown, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Stefanko) Schadder. Prior to retirement, he was employed as a butcher at Tarone’s Market, Hazleton, from 1938 to 1995.
He was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society of the parish, and was also an usher for more than 50 years.
Mr. Schadder was a founding member of the Hazleton 12th Ward Playground Community Association, and served on the board for 15 years.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were his wife, the former Veronica Sabol, who died in 1988; a daughter, Rose Marie Schadder; brothers, Stephen and Albert and a sister, Julia Shears.
Surviving are sons, Charles J., Hazleton; and Ronald, Conyngham; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. from the Frank J. Bonin Funeral Home, Inc., 542 N. Wyoming St. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph’s R.C. Church.
Interment will follow in Calvary cemetery, Drums.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 9 until 10 a.m.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Joseph Memorial School, 601 N. Laurel St., Hazleton.

Anna Davis
Anna Davis, 91, a registered nurse, formerly of Nesquehoning, and a resident of Wellington, Fla., died Friday.
Born in Nesquehoning, she was the daughter of the late Morgan D. and Rose (Reabold) Morgan.
Prior to retiring, she was employed as a registered nurse; was a former volunteer at the Wellington Regional Medical Center, Florida; was a member of the American Association of Retired Nurses; and former president of the Pennsylvania Nursing Association.
During World War II, she was a Civil Defense nurse.
She was a member of Christ Fellowship Church, Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; a volunteer at the Jim Thorpe Library; and a past member of the Albright Fire Co. Auxiliary.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, Thomas C. Davis and brothers, Morgan O. Morgan and Thomas Morgan.
Surviving are her son, Jenkin Davis, Wellington, Fla.; a sister, Elizabeth Heim, Stroudsburg; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. from the Joseph S. Blazosky Funeral Home, 81 E. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning, with the Rev. Joseph Healey officiating.
Interment will take place in Nesquehoning Protestant cemetery.

Lois A. Lawlor
Lois A. Lawlor, 63, 9 Maple Hill, Shenandoah, died Thursday at Pottsville Hospital/Warne Clinic.
Born in Frackville, Aug. 27, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Elaine (Felker) Snyder, of the Protestant faith, and had been employed at Shenandoah Manor Nursing Home.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were a son, Mark Buck and a brother, David Snyder.
Surviving are her husband, Ronald J. Lawlor; sons, Robert Buck, Florida; Thomas Buck, Reading; Lance Buck, Mahanoy City and Edward Buck, Paxinos; a sister, Elaine Tichey, Shenandoah; brothers, Thomas Snyder, Minersville and Francis Snyder, Barnesville; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Nieces and nephews also survive.
Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. from the Nice-Hart Funeral Home Inc., 9 N. Lehigh Ave., Frackville. The Rev. Cynthia S. Kennett will officiate.
Interment will take place in Odd Fellows cemetery, Shenandoah.

Thomas Enama
Thomas Enama, 73, of Gouldsboro, died Sept. 26 at Scripps-Mercy Hospital, San Diego, Calif.
Born in Hazleton on Nov. 11, 1928, he was the son of the late Joseph and Marina Enama. The family moved to New Brunswick, N.J. in 1947. An accomplished guitarist, Enama realized his dream of heading a country-western band, “Gigs, ” throughout the New Brunswick area.
Prior to retirement, he served as deputy with the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Department for 17 years. Mr. Enama was also an avid sportsman and fisherman. He re-located to Gouldsboro, Pocono Mountains and spent the last several winters in San Diego.
Surviving are his sister, Catherine Dufla, New Brunswick; brothers, Joseph, San Diego and Angelo, Westover; five nieces and three grand-nieces.
Chapel service and interment will be at the Calvary cemetery, Drums on Monday at noon.
The Fierro Funeral Service has charge of arrangements.

Margaret Sticher
Margaret Sticher, 95, formerly of Coplay and Mahanoy City, died Friday in Cedarbrook County Home, Fountain Hill.
Born in Mahanoy City, she was the daughter of the late James P. and Mary (Murphy) Bradley.
She was a life member of Salem E.C. Church, Mahanoy City; the Puritan Chapter 126 Order of Eastern Star, Mahanoy City; and of the Coplay Senior Citizens.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, was her husband, Laverne R. Sticher, former Chief of Police of Mahanoy City.
Surviving are a son, James L. Sticher, Catasauqua; a daughter, Jean Croll, Whitehall; three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a great-great grandson.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday from the John H. Brubaker Funeral Home, 234 Walnut St., Catasauqua.
Interment will be in the German Protestant cemetery, Mahanoy Township.

Catherine Walko
Catherine Walko, 90, of 100 Green St., Brockton, died Thursday at the Hometown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Hometown.
Born in Saint Clair, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Eleanor Emrick. She was last employed as a sewing machine operator at local garment factories.
She was a member of St. Bartholomew Roman Catholic Church, Brockton; and of the Mary-D Senior Citizens.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, Joseph A. Walko in 1975; brothers, the Rev. John J. Emrick and Joseph Emrick; sisters, Sister Estella of the Bernadine Order; Mary Wiley, Anna Katechis, Antoinette Goetz, and Margaret Grabowski.
Surviving are a son, Joseph J. Walko, Hazleton; daughters, Loretta, wife of Dr. Charles Zlock, Doylestown and Mrs. Paul (Estella) Getz, New Ringgold; a sister, Joan Stren, Saint Clair; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Monday at 12:30 p.m. from the Zizelmann-Roche Funeral Home, 500 E. Broad St., Tamaqua.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1 p.m. in St. Bartholomew R.C. Church, Brockton.
Interment will be in the parish cemetery, Brockton.

Vincent A. Citro
Vincent A. Citro, retired assistant night editor for the Standard-Speaker and a former resident of 74 Poplar St., Hazleton, died Friday morning at the Greater Hazleton Health Alliance, Broad Street Campus.
A graduate of MMI, Freeland, and Temple University, Philadelphia, he retired after 27 years with the paper.
In addition, he was a staff announcer at WAZL during the 1960s, and had been employed at First National Bank, Freeland. He was known throughout the area as a trumpet player with local bands, playing big band music.
"Vince was a very intelligent but unassuming guy and a real gentleman, " said Carl Christopher, managing editor of the Standard-Speaker. "When I started at the newspaper in 1975, he was wire editor on the night shift, in charge of putting page one together. He was constantly entertaining the staff with his wry wit."
According to Ray Saul, retired managing editor for whom Citro worked, "He was a very sharp newspaperman with a keen sense of humor."
Additional residences included Lincoln Manor, Lincoln Street, Hazleton; and Butler Valley Manor, Drums.
Born in Hazleton, he was the son of the late Alfonzo and Mary (Petrilli) Citro. He was a member of St. Gabriel’s Roman Catholic Church, Hazleton; and an Army veteran of World War II.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, was a sister, Mary T. Citro, 1990.
Surviving is a brother, Joseph Citro, Milwaukee, Wis.; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Monday at 9 a.m. from the Beltz-Petrilli Funeral Home, 235 E. Broad St., Hazleton.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in St. Gabriel’s R.C. Church.
Entombment will take place in St. Gabriel’s cemetery, Hazleton.
Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.
