Carl Wilson Robacker
Carl Wilson Robacker, 80, Clarks Summit, Lackawanna County, died Friday at Tyler Memorial Hospital, Tunkhannock.
Born in Scranton, April 28, 1922, he was the son of the late Herbert and Selena (Shaffer) Robacker, and was educated in the Milwaukee School.
He was a charter member of South Abington Lions Club, served in several offices, was active in the community and with charities, was a former volunteer for the Hemodialysis Society of Northeastern Pennsylvania, and served as president of the Cole Village Senior Citizens.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were his first wife, the former Eleanor McGurgan, Jan. 3, 1954; a son, David Robacker; brothers, Thomas, Herbert Jr. and Warner Robacker; and a sister, Mary Cooper.
Surviving are his daughters, Jean Rosenkrans, West Hazleton; Shirley Summerhill, Clarks Summit; and Ruthann Miller, Throop; sons, Carl Robacker, Santa Fe, Texas; and Jim Robacker, Newton; a brother, Willard, Jessup; a sister, Evelyn DeNino, Scranton; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral will be held Monday at 11 a.m. from the Jennings-Calvey Funeral Home Inc., 111 Colburn Ave., Clarks Summit, with High Priest Spencer Jonas, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Tunkhannock, officiating.
Interment will follow in the Primitive Methodist cemetery, Dickson City.

Michael Melnick
Michael Melnick, 80, 57-59 Oak St., Tresckow, died Friday afternoon at St. Luke Pavilion, Hazleton, where he had been a guest.
Born in McAdoo, he was the son of the late Justin and Mary (Karpatch) Melnick, and a member of St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, Tresckow.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, and prior to retiring, was employed as a foreman/surveyor for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
He was a member of Hazleton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 589 and the Tresckow Fire Company.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were a brother, John; and sisters, Irene Marshall Podlesney and Helen Fazio.
Surviving are his wife, the former Frances Shemansky; children, Mrs. George (Andrea) Andrews, his caregiver, Sheppton; Mrs. Robert (Maryann) Killian, Reading; Mrs. Robert (Donna) McNeeley, New Mexico; Mrs. Stephen (Michele) Fedor and Francine Melnick, both of Reading; brothers, Peter, Hazleton; and Stephen, Tresckow; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the Frank J. Bonin Funeral Home Inc., 542 N. Wyoming St., Hazleton.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church.
Interment will follow in Calvary cemetery, Drums.

Mary S. Puschauver
Mary S. Puschauver, 93, a former resident of Grant Street, Hazleton, died Thursday afternoon at Mountain City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Hazleton.
Born in Emmaus, Lehigh County, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Anna (Budis) Yanek, and a member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Hazleton.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, Joseph S. Puschauver, 1981; a son, Joseph W.; a brother, Joseph Yanek; and a sister, Anna Fuller.
Surviving are her children, Dolores Porpiglia and Joan Cieniawa, both of Hazleton; Mrs. Edward (Leah) Herron, Bethlehem; Mrs. Tague M. (Carol) Osadche, Hazleton; and Carl D., Drums; brothers, John Yanek, Clearwater, Fla.; and Steven Yanek, Kuhnville; a sister, Margaret Cuth, Whitehall; 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Dominick Anthony Lockwood
Dominick Anthony Lockwood, Stroudsburg, brother of Mrs. William 'Bill' (Mary) Spear, Sugarloaf, died Thursday morning after being struck by a vehicle.
Born in Tresckow, he was the son of the late Maurice and Anna (Carbone) Lockwood, and a graduate of West Hazleton High School.
An attorney and real estate developer, he received a degree in economics from Penn State University, a master's degree in history from Lehigh University, and his juris doctorate degree from Catholic University School of Law. Lockwood was a partner in the Stroudsburg firm of Lockwood & Jackson and maintained a law office in Easton.
He served on active duty in the Navy, attaining the rank of lieutenant, and later spent 11 years in the Navy Reserve.
Along with his wife, Kathleen (Rhein) Lockwood, he was devoted to conserving and revitalizing many landmark buildings and homes in the borough in which they lived. At the time of his death, renovations were underway at the historic J.J. Newberry building, Stroudsburg, a site they began redeveloping in 1997.
Additional civic efforts were spent on saving Ramsey Elementary School.
Surviving, in addition to his wife and his sister, Mrs. William (Mary) Spear, are children, Trieste, Dominick and Amelia, all at home; and a sister, Thelma Lockwood, Richmond, Va.
Services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Luke's Church, Main Street, Stroudsburg.
Friends may call at the church Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m.

Helen Tesu
Helen Tesu, 81, Brooklyn, N.Y., died May 18 in Brooklyn.
Born in Mahanoy City, June 8, 1920, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Dronginis) Lashinsky, a 1937 graduate of Mahanoy City High School and of the Catholic faith.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, was a brother, Joseph Lashinsky, who had lived in Mahanoy City and died in 1990.
Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Michael Tesu; a son, Anthony, and a daughter, Patricia, both of Brooklyn, N.Y.; brothers, Francis Lashinsky, Cornwall; and John Lashinsky, New York City; sisters, Florence Lorrouse, East Brunswick, N.J.; and Catherine Kachinskas, New York City; and four granddaughters. Nieces and cousins also survive, including a cousin, who resides in Mahanoy City.
The funeral took place in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Glenn L. Welsh
Glenn L. Welsh, of 206 Allen St., West Hazleton, died Thursday evening at his residence.
Born in Berwick, he was the son of the late John Henry and Rachel Ruth (Rough) Welsh.
He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Roman Catholic Church, Hazleton.
Mr. Welsh was an Army veteran of WWII, serving in the European Theater of Operations.
He was employed as a screen printer with Armor Handcraft in the Valmont Industrial Park, West Hazleton. In addition, he was a member of the Eight Bees Hunting Club.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were his wife, the former Rose Roselle; a sister, Dorothy Lutz; brothers, Carl, Dale, Royce and Donald.
Surviving are his daughter, Sharon Armstrong, Forty Fort; grandchildren, Bart and Jaquelyn Yachera, with whom he resided and who were his caregivers; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Prudence Gross, Sugarloaf; Grace Babula, West Hazleton; Louise (Effie) Campbell, Hazleton; Audrey Welsh, North Carolina; and Faye Wagner, Drums; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 9 a.m. from the Fierro Funeral Service, Inc., 26 W. Second St., Hazleton. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace R.C. Church.
Interment will take place in Calvary cemetery, Drums.

Edith M. Bettin
Edith M. Bettin, 85, formerly of 70 S. Pine St., Hazleton, died Wednesday morning at St. Luke Manor, Hazleton.
Born in Beaver Meadows, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Fanny (Odorizzi) Bettin Sr., and a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church, Hazleton.
Prior to retiring, she had been employed a number of years ago as a waitress at Genetti’s Tyrolean Room, Laurel Street, Hazleton.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were brothers, Fred and John.
She is survived by her sister, Louise Bettin, Hazleton; nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. from the Frank J. Bonin Funeral Home Inc., 542 N. Wyoming St., Hazleton.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel R.C. Church.
Interment will take place in the parish cemetery.

Michael ‘Mike’ Cusatis Sr.
Michael “Mike” Cusatis Sr., 78, of Bethlehem, died Wednesday at St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem.
He was the son of the late James Cusatis and Marie (Potts) Cusatis, and was a Roman Catholic.
Mr. Cusatis served in the Army during the occupation of Japan. He was a member of the American Legion Post 470, Bath; the B.V.F.H.A., and the Bethlehem Panthers A.A.
Prior to retirement in 1989, he worked for the City of Bethlehem Water Department for 32 years as a meter reader.
Surviving are his wife, Sylvia (Welty) Cusatis, to whom he was married
on Nov. 1, 1961; a daughter, Mrs. Brian (Dorothy M.) Smith, Bethlehem; sons, Michael Cusatis Jr. and James M. Cusatis, both of Bethlehem; four grandchildren; sisters, Betty Jane DeNofa, Bethlehem Township and Dorothy Nicholas, Bethlehem; and a brother, William Cusatis, Bethlehem.
Services will be at the Connell Funeral Home, Inc., 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, at 11 a.m. on Monday.
Interment will take place in the Bethlehem Memorial Park, Bethlehem.
