Ann (Pawlik) Tobias

Ann (Pawlik) Tobias, Willingboro, N.J., died Saturday at the home of her sister, Jean Beluch, Spotswood, N.J.

She resided in Philadelphia prior to moving to Willingboro, N.J.

Born in Hazleton, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Magdalen (Sluhanek) Pawlik, and a communicant of Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church, Willingboro, N.J.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, Leo Tobias, 2000; brothers, John and Ted Pawlik, and sisters, Catherine Pawlik, Mary Kushmeder and Emily Gogola, all of whom had resided in Hazleton.

Surviving, in addition to her sister, Jean, are her son, Larry Tobias, Willingboro, N.J., with whom she resided and sisters, Francie Yannarell, Helen Rickard and Alice Pawlik, all of Hazleton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church, Sunset and Charleston roads, Willingboro, N.J.

Interment will take place in Odd Fellows cemetery, Burlington, N.J.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Goes-Scolieri Funeral Home, 212 Levitt Parkway, Willingboro, N.J., Wednesday morning after 8 a.m.

Ralph A. Neiswender

Ralph A. Neiswender, 88, of 410 W. Atlantic St., Shenandoah, died Saturday at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, Pottsville.

Born in Zions Grove, he was the son of the late Michael and Pearl Neiswender, and a member of St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church, Shenandoah.

Prior to retiring, he was last employed by Lehigh Foundation, at its Philadelphia offices. Earlier employment included the Pioneer Construction Co., Shamokin; and the Capparell Coal Co., where he worked as a heavy machine operator.

Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were brothers, Erie and Wallace Neiswender and a sister, Elsie Kline.

Surviving are his wife of 62 years, the former Helen Navitsky; a daughter, Rose Ann Young, California; a brother, Edward Neiswender, Brandonville; sisters, Frieda Bolinsky, East Stroudsburg and Iva Kline, Lancaster; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Services will be held Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. from the Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc., 40 N. Jardin St., Shenandoah, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, to be celebrated at 9 a.m. in St. Stanislaus R.C. Church, Shenandoah.

Interment will take place in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home this evening from 6 to 8 p.m.

Eugene R. Vinsko

Eugene R. Vinsko, 68, of 22 Ridge Road, Ringtown, died Saturday at Pottsville Hospital/Warne Clinic.

Born in Shenandoah, he was the son of the late John and Antionette (Wowak) Vinsko, and a member of St. Casimir's Roman Catholic Church, Shenandoah.

An Army careerman, prior to retiring, he served during the Vietnam War.

Surviving are a brother, Frank Vinsko, Ringtown; a sister, Dorothy Delowery, Warminster and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. from the Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc., 40 N. Jardin St., Shenandoah, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, to be celebrated at 11 a.m. in St. Casimir's R.C. Church.

Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday morning from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the services. There are no calling hours this evening.

John V. Opanel

John V. Opanel, 67, of 2760 Turner Ave., Roslyn, Montgomery County, died Saturday at Abington Memorial Hospital.

Born in Shenandoah, Oct. 15, 1935, he was the son of Josephine (Wrublewski) Opanel, Philadelphia, and the late John A. Opanel, a 1953 graduate of (former) J.W. Cooper High School, Shenandoah, and was of the Catholic faith.

Prior to retiring, he was employed for 30 years by Budd Corp., Philadelphia, as a supervisor.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife, the former Joan Ann Finkowski, to whom he was married 45 years; a son, John Eric Opanel, at home; a daughter, Mrs. Gus (Diane) Meloni, Rockledge; brothers, Paul and Thomas Opanel, and a sister, Mary Opanel, all of Philadelphia; one grandson and one granddaughter. Nieces and nephews also survive.

Services will be held Thursday at 9:45 a.m. from the Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah.

A Mass of Christian Burial will follow, to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church, Shenandoah, with the Rev. Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian, pastor, as the celebrant.

Interment will take place in Odd Fellows cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.

Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 8 a.m. until the time of the services. There will be no calling hours Wednesday evening.

Joseph G. Rockovich

Joseph G. Rockovich, 241 W. Green St., West Hazleton, and a guest at Providence Place, Drums, died Sunday morning in the emergency room at the Greater Hazleton Health Alliance, Church Street Campus.

He was a member of Transfiguration Roman Catholic Church, West Hazleton.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by the Hilary J. Bonin Funeral Home, 99 W. Green St., West Hazleton.

Helen M. Waldron

Helen M. Waldron, 25 Park St., West Hazleton, died late Saturday evening at Mountain City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Hazleton.

She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, West Hazleton.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the Hilary J. Bonin Funeral Home, 99 W. Green St., West Hazleton.

Evelyn A. Lindenmuth

Evelyn A. Lindenmuth, 80, who resided at 200 E. Coal St., Shenandoah, died Friday morning at her home.

Born in William Penn, West Mahanoy Township, she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Dorothy (Richards) Leach, was educated in the West Mahanoy Township schools, and was of the Protestant faith.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, Mahlon Lindenmuth, 1974; a son, Gordon Lindenmuth, 2000; brothers, Lewis Leach, Edward Gilroy and Patrick Gilroy; and a sister, Dorothy Renninger.

Surviving are her son, Francis Lindenmuth, Ringtown; a daughter, Mrs. Anthony (Lucy) Demalis, Shenandoah; brothers, Martin Gilroy, Cropwell, Ala.; and Michael Gilroy, Chicopee, Mass.; and a sister, Anna Veach, Shenandoah; 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Nieces and nephews also survive.

A prayer service will be held Sunday at 8:30 p.m. at the Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah. The Rev. David Seymour will officiate.

Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

A public viewing will be held Sunday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Tillie L. Lantz

Tillie L. Lantz, 75, died Wednesday at her Levittown residence.

Born in Hazleton and formerly of Akron, Ohio, she had resided in Levittown for the past five years.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Roger (Kathleen) Mayes; and a son, Eric Lantz; a brother, Joseph Matulevich, five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be conducted on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at Ss. Peter and Paul's Catholic Church, Hazleton.

Interment will be private.

Arrangements are under the direction of the James O. Bradley Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Bellevue Ave., Penndel.

Elizabeth A. Manney

Elizabeth A. Manney, 78, 45 Preston Hill, Girardville, a former resident of Olney, Philadelphia County, died Thursday at Warminster Hospital.

Born in Ashland, she was the daughter of the late James and Elizabeth Butler, attended Ashland schools, and was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church, Girardville.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, Francis X. Manney, 1992; brothers and sisters.

Surviving are sons, Francis, Philadelphia; Thomas, Birdsboro; and Robert Manney, California; brothers, Stephen Butler, Preston Hill; and Thomas Butler, Philadelphia; sisters, Helen Beresford, Allentown; and Ruth Maahs, Philadelphia; nine grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at noon in St. Vincent de Paul Church, Girardville, with the Rev. David Leibner as celebrant.

Interment will follow in St. Joseph's cemetery, Ashland.

Friends may call at the church Tuesday from 10 a.m. until noon.

Donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Church, 211 N. Second St., Girardville, Pa. 17935.

The Robert M. McDonald Funeral Home, Girardville, is in charge of the arrangements.

Mary A. Yamilkoski

Mary A. Yamilkoski, 76, former owner/operator of the Lookout Restaurant, Drums, and part owner of Top of the 80s, Route 93; a resident of East Main Street, Glen Lyon, died of cancer Thursday at her home.

She resided in Mocanaqua for 33 years, prior to moving to Glen Lyon a year and a half ago.

Born in Glen Lyon, March 7, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Martha (Butka) Floryshak.

She attended Newport Township schools and was a member of the graduating Class of 1943.

For several years, she was employed by General Cigar, Nanticoke, and was a member of Corpus Christi parish/St. Adalbert's Church, Glen Lyon.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband and business partner, Ted Yamilkoski, April 6, 1989; and a brother, Joseph, Sept. 28, 1982.

Surviving are her sister, Florence Floryshak Ruminski, New Cumberland; and brothers, Henry, Glen Lyon; Walter, Nanticoke; and John, Wellsburg, N.Y. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Her funeral will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. from the George A. Strish Inc. Funeral Home, 211 W. Main St., Glen Lyon.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. in Corpus Christi/St. Adalbert's Church, Market Street, Glen Lyon.

Interment will take place in St. Mary's cemetery, Mocanaqua.

Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
