Paul S. Singley
Paul S. Singley, 91, retired Zion Grove farmer, and a resident of 831 Green Mountain Drive, Zion Grove, died Friday evening at the home of his caregivers, Joe and Monnie Winters, Zion Grove.
Born in Zion Grove, Sept. 23, 1911, he was the son of the late Franklin and Emma (Hahn) Singley, and a member of Mount Zion Lutheran Church, Zion Grove.
The last surviving member of his immediate family, he was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his wife, Cathryn Singley, in 1987; brothers and sisters.
Nieces and nephews survive.
A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date in Mount Zion cemetery, Zion Grove.

Elmira Keiper
Elmira Keiper, 91, White Haven, died Sunday at Smith Health Care, Mountaintop.
Born in Avoca, she attended White Haven schools, and was later employed as a housekeeper for Holiday Inn, White Haven.
She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, Silas Keiper; daughters, Lorrella Blakeslee, Gladys Seibert and Geraldine Miller; and a son, Ralph Keiper.
Surviving are her son, Silas “Buddy” Keiper, Florida; daughters, Gertrude Keenapple and Charlotte Luton, both of White Haven; Myra Radley, Levittown; Eleanor Hartranft, Cape May, N.J.; Rose Hornung, Fort Myers, Fla.; and Jacqueline Kresge and Marge Strittmatter, both of White Haven; 31 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and several great great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Joseph E. Lehman Funeral Home Inc., 403 Berwick St., White Haven, today from 6 to 8 p.m.
Interment services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Anne S. Kennedy
Anne S. Kennedy, 85, 51 W. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning, died Saturday morning at St. Luke’s Miners Memorial Hospital, Coaldale.
Born in Nesquehoning, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Melicharek) Skodacek, a lifelong area resident and a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Nesquehoning.
Prior to retiring, she was a seamstress employed in the area garment industry.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were brothers, Martin and Milan Skodacek.
Surviving are her daughters, Carole Gehring-Beach, Cresco; and Jeanne Kennedy, Bear, Del.; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; brothers, Paul, Summit Hill; and John Skodacek, Santa Anna, Calif.; and a sister, Mary Lazorick, Jim Thorpe. Nieces and nephews also survive.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Zion Lutheran Church, 2 W. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning, with the Rev. Ben Eherts officiating.
Interment will take place at the convenience of the family in Nesquehoning Slovak-Lutheran cemetery.
There will be no calling hours.
Donations may be made to Zion Lutheran Church.

Anna Mary Klokey
Anna Mary Klokey, 63, 38 Lower Main St., Shenandoah, died Saturday at Hamburg Center, Berks County.
Born in Ashland, July 17, 1939, she was the daughter of Estelle S. (Pahucke) Klokey, Shenandoah; and the late Stanley N. Klokey, who died Aug. 1, 1970.
She was a member of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, Lost Creek.
Surviving, in addition to her mother, are brothers, Stanley J. Klokey, Lansdale; Carl P. Klokey, Lorraine, Ohio; and Henry J. Klokey, Shenandoah. Nieces, one great-niece, a great-nephew and cousins also survive.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, to be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, Lost Creek. The Rev. William N. Seifert, pastor, will be the celebrant.
Interment will follow in St. Stephen’s cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.
There will be no viewing or services from the funeral home.

Jean Miller
Jean Miller, 86, 610 Peace St., Hazleton, died Saturday morning at Mountain City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Hazleton.
Born in Hazleton, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Florence (Jordanell) Barletta, and a member of St. Gabriel’s Roman Catholic Church, Hazleton.
Prior to retiring, she was employed as a seamstress for Pombo’s Draperies, Hazleton.
The last surviving member of her immediate family, she was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her husband, Robert Miller Sr., 1979; brothers, James, Anthony and Maurice Barletta; and sisters, Julia Barletta, Grace Scaran and Mary Craigle.
She is survived by a son, Robert T. Miller, Hazleton; two granddaughters, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the Joseph A. Moran Funeral Home, 229 W. 12th St., Hazleton, followed by the celebration of a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Gabriel’s R.C. Church.
Interment will take place in Calvary cemetery, Drums.
Friends may call at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.

Mary M. Andrulewicz
Mary M. Andrulewicz, 90, 149 Laurel St., Fountain Springs, Ashland, a former Atlas resident, died Sunday morning at Broad Mountain Manor Nursing Center, Frackville.
Born in Honeybrook, Sept. 18, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Wasil and Mary (Balash) Mushalko, and attended Conyngham Township schools.
She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Roman Catholic Church, Gordon.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, Anthony Andrelewicz, 1973; a brother, Michael Mushalko and sisters, Julia Komorek and Helen Lewis.
Surviving are her daughter, Frances Klinger, Fountain Springs, with whom she resided; brothers, John Mushalko, Union, N.J.; Charles Mushalko, Summerfield, N.J.; and George Mushalko, Alexandria, Va.; sisters, Anna Seib, Ridgewood, N.J.; and Kathryn Hyduk, South Plainfield, N.J.; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Nieces and nephews also survive.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church, with the Rev. Michael Ahrensfield, pastor, as celebrant.
Interment will follow in St. Joseph's cemetery, Fountain Springs.

John Berg
John Berg, 80, of 49 Tiley Road, Ashland, died Friday evening at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, Pottsville.
Born in Butler Township, Jan. 2, 1922, he was the son of the late Mathais and Elizabeth (Mothler) Berg, a member of St. Mauritius Roman Catholic Church, Ashland, and attended St. Mauritius Catholic School, Ashland.
Prior to its closing, he was employed as a greaser at Locust Summit Coal Breaker, Miriam and prior to retiring, was last employed as a meat cuter for Locustdale Meat Packing Co. In addition, until its closing, he operated Berg Family Dairy Farm, Butler Township.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were a brother, William and sisters, Elizabeth Dillman and Marie Prock.
Surviving are a sister, Dolores Kenenitz, Ashland; nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Mauritius R.C. Church, with the Rev. John A. Frink, pastor, as the celebrant.
Interment will take place in the new parish cemetery.

Gail C. Sheehan
Gail C. Sheehan, 77, Hazlewood Apartments, West 28th Street, Hazleton, died Friday evening at the Greater Hazleton Health Alliance, Church Street Campus.
Born in Wheeling, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late William E. and Bertha (Bell) Hall, a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Hazleton, and was inducted into the church's Daughter's of the King.
Prior to retiring, she had been a bookkeeper at Sovereign Bank.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were a sister, Annamary Lewis; and a grandson, Kenneth Weyand.
Surviving are her children, Martha Nugent, Phoenix, Ariz.; Robert Erb, San Diego, Calif.; Rebecca Petrow, Gatesville, Texas; Irene O'Keefe, New Brighton; Mary Oliver, Weirton, W. Va., and Johanna Appel, Waynesboro; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Nieces and nephews also survive.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 6 p.m. in St. Peter's Episcopal Church, South Laurel Street, Hazleton, with the Rev. Paul Cochran, rector, officiating.
Private interment will take place at the convenience of the family.
There will be no public viewing.
