Vivian D. Gery, 78
Services were held in the Hoover Funeral Home & Crematory, Hershey, for Vivian D. Gery of Temple, formerly of Hershey, Dauphin County, who died July 13, 2004 in the Central Park Health Care & Rehabilitation Center, Brandon, Fla. Burial was in Stoverdale cemetery, Hummelstown, Dauphin County.
Born in Hummelstown, she was a daughter of the late William H. and Helen I. (Reitzel) Laughery.
Gery was a 1943 graduate of Hershey High School and a graduate of Hershey Junior College.
Until her retirement, she was employed by Lucent Technologies, Muhlenberg Township. She served in the Navy for 21 years.
Gery was a vice commander and trustee of Leesport Post 11282, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
She is survived by a sister, Magdalene (Laughery) Bretz, in California.
Raymond A. Hoffman, 91
Services were held in the Auman Funeral Homes, Reiffton, for Raymond A. Hoffman, formerly of Muhlenberg Township, who died July 9, 2004 in Laurel Center Genesis Elder Care, Tilden Township, where he was a resident two years. Burial was in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton.
He was predeceased by his wife, Catherine M. (Geibel) Hoffman, in 1999.
Born in Red Hill, Montgomery County, he was a son of the late Harvey W. and Ida M. (Wentling) Hoffman.
He was a 1929 graduate of Leesport High School.
Until his retirement in 1977, he was employed by several area trucking companies for over 35 years, last working for Yellow Freight.
Hoffman was a member of Faith Evangelical Congregational Church, Temple.
Surviving are a son, Ernest R., Tucson, Ariz.; and two daughters, Janet F. (Hoffman) VanHoose, Bellefontaine, Ohio, and Anna May (Hoffman) Coldren, Reading.
There are seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.
Also surviving is a brother, H. Clyde, Oaklyn, N.J.
Robert P. Hampton II, 43
Services were held in Houck & Gofus Funeral Home Inc., Pottsville, for Robert P. “Clem” Hampton II of Leesport, who died July 10, 2004 in Bryn Mawr Hospital following a work-related accident the day before in Springton Woods near Newtown Square, Delaware County. Burial was in Brownback cemetery, Spring City, Chester County.
Born in Pottstown, he was a son of Robert P. Hampton Sr. and Mary Jane (Lightcap) Hampton, Leesport.
He was employed by Rittenbaugh Inc., Phoenixville.
Surviving are two sons, Corey R. and Derek P., and a daughter, Brandy Nicole Hampton, all of Stowe.
Also surviving is a brother, Brian G., West Lawn; and three sisters: Barbara L. Hampton, Oley; Kimberly S. (Hampton) Clark, Reading; and Elizabeth A. (Hampton) Krise, Reading.
EMMA W. ZERN-WARNER
Services were held for Emma W. Zern-Warner, 83, of Sarosota, Fla., formerly of North Evans Street, Pottstown who died April 16, 2002 at Doctor’s Hospital, Sarasota.
She was the widow of Joseph W. Warner.
Born in Sassamansville, she was an assistant with the Warren B. Zern Construction Co., Pottstown.
She was a former member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Pottstown, and a past treasurer of the church’s women’s club.
Zern-Warner is survived by a son, Thomas C. Leightcap of Sarasota.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park, Pottstown.
The arrangements were handled by the Catagnus Funeral Home, Pottstown.
HELEN MAE NAGLE
Services were held for Helen Mae Nagle, 80, wife of Donald K. Nagle Sr., of the Locustwood Trailer Park in East Cocalico, Lancaster County, who died April 16, 2002 at Reading Hospital and Medical Center, West Reading.
She was born in Boyertown and in 1985, she retired after many years as a sewing machine operator for the former Latisse Handbags in Reading.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Kenneth B. Nagle of Reading, Robert F. Nagle of Womelsdorf and Donald K. Nagle Jr. of Mohnton; five daughters, Sharon L. Eppler of Boyertown, Linda L. Renninger and Cynthia A. Eby, both of Denver, Lancaster County and Roxanne Holben and Michelle L. Guidara, both of Reinholds, Lancaster County.
Also three brothers, Kenneth Downer of Boyertown, Charles Downer of Pikeville and Timothy Downer of Boyertown; two sisters, Doris Hallman of Boyertown and Anna Weidner of Pine Forge; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
The Lutz Funeral Home, Reading, handled the arrangements.
Burial was in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton.
WILLIAM K. BLATT
Services were held for William K. Blatt, 96, of Park Road, Earl Township, who died April 15, 2002 in ManorCare Health Services Inc., West Reading, where he had resided since March.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Helen V. (Feger) Blatt, in 1961, and by his second wife, Ruth M. (Homan) Blatt, in 1989.
Born in Centre Township, Blatt was a self-employed farmer in Centre Township, and was employed as a welder by American Chain & Cable Co., Reading. He was last employed in the maintenance departments of Windsor Service Inc. and Reading Battery Works, both of Muhlenberg Township, until his retirement.
He was a member, elder and former deacon of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Amityville.
Blatt was a life member of the Temple, Virginville, Oley and Amity Fire Companies, the Temple Democratic Club and the Izaak Walton League.
Surviving is one brother.
The Milkins Funeral Home Inc., Temple, handled the arrangements.
Burial was in Fairview cemetery, Centre Township.
CATHERINE M. HOPPES
Funeral services were held for Catherine M. Hoppes, 72, of Heffner Lane, Alsace Township, who died April 17, 2002 in ManorCare Health Services Inc., Muhlenberg Township.
She was the wife of Leon E. Hoppes.
Born in Exeter Township, Hoppes was a member of Zion (Spies) Lutheran Church, Alsace Township.
She is also survived by a daughter, Jean L. (Hoppes) Miller, Leesport; and a son, Kenneth E., Exeter Township.
Other survivors include two brothers, Paul L. Kline, Birdsboro, and Charles P. Kline Jr., Wernersville; and four sisters: Maryjane E. (Kline) Clouser, Oley; Grace (Kline) Mountz, Fountain, Fla.; Ruth (Kline) Clauser, Douglassville; and Fern (Kline) Heffner, Ruscombmanor Township.
There are also three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Burial was in Spies (Zion) cemetery, Alsace Township.
CHARLOTTE W. OWENS
A memorial service was held at Walnut Woods, Boyertown, for Charlotte W. (Cunningham) Owens, 85, widow of Ellis Owens Jr., of Walnut Woods, Boyertown. She died April 18, 2002.
She was born in Palmerton, Carbon County and was a homemaker.
Surviving are two daughters, Janice L. Prince of Bechtelsville and Kay Wentz of Hatfield; a sister; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The arrangements were handled by the Houck Funeral Home, Pottstown.
LINFORD F. RENNINGER
Services were held for Linford F. Renninger, 68, of Hoffmansville Road, Frederick, who died April 18, 2002 in Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.
Born in New Hanover, Renninger worked as a bartender and steward for the Friendship Hook and Ladder Fire Co., Boyertown, for 33 years. He previously worked for the Boyertown Packaging Co.
Renninger was a member of New Hanover Lutheran Church, 2941 Lutheran Road, Gilbertsville, PA 19525.
He was also a life member of the Friendship Hook and Ladder Co.
Surviving are five sisters, Alice Layman and Beulah Houck, both of Boyertown, Stella Eidle and Hilda Knauer, both of Gilbertsville and Leona Renninger, with whom he lived; four brothers, Lloyd and Lester Renninger, with whom he lived, Frederick B. Renninger Jr. of Gilbertsville and Kenneth Renninger of Pottstown.
He was preceded in death by twin sisters.

Burial was in New Hanover Lutheran Church cemetery.
GREGORY J. BINANDO
A funeral Mass was celebrated for Gregory J. Binando, 37, husband of Janet M. (Bradbury) Binando, of Reifsnyder Road, New Hanover, who died April 17, 2002.
Born in Indiana, Pa., he was a son of Frank and Teresa Binando of Coral, Pa.
He graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a degree in communications.
He was self-employed in the janitorial services.
Binando was a member of St. Columbkill’s Roman Catholic Church, Boyertown.
He was a former member of Coral-Graceton VFD.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by two daughters, Alicia N. Binando and Gabrielle M. Binando, both of New Hanover.
Also a brother and a sister.

Burial was in St. Aloysius New cemetery, Lower Pottsgrove.
