Donald R. Adams
Services will be held June 18, 1:30 p.m. in Salem Belleman’s Union Church, Centre Township, for Donald R. Adams, 72, of Hafer Drive, Leesport, who died June 14, 2003 in Reading Hospital, where he had been a patient since May 23.
Burial will be in Fairview (Belleman’s) cemetery.
He was the husband of June M. (Kreider) Adams.
Born in Tilden Township, he was a son of the late Oscar W. and Ella M. (Potteiger) Adams.
Until retiring in 1994, he was employed by Quaker Maid Kitchens, Ontelaunee Township, for 17 years, and was also employed as a spray painter by Degler Chevrolet, Kutztown; Kutztown Airport; and Reading Aviation.
Adams was a Korean War Army veteran.
He was a member of Salem (Belleman’s) Church, Centre Township and vice president of the Centerport Sunday School.
Adams was a charter member of the Central Berks Fire Company.
Surviving are three brothers, Quentin C. Adams, Shoemakersville; Richard L. Adams, Tilden Township; and Larry D. Adams, Pottsville.
There are also three sisters: Arlene V. (Adams) Heffner, Shoemakersville; Audrey L. (Adams) Schorr, Concord. N.C.; and Sharon A. (Adams) Ende, in Wisconsin.
The Leibensperger Funeral Home, Hamburg, is in charge of arrangements.

Margaret K. B. Stine, 78
Services were held in the Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Hamburg, for Margaret K. Berger Stine, who died Aug. 6, 2003 in her Main Street, Shartlesville residence.
Burial was in St. Michael’s cemetery, Tilden Township.
She was the wife of Robert K. Stine. She was predeceased by her first husband, Joel Berger, who died Nov. 1, 1961.
Born in Auburn, Schuylkill County, she was a daughter, of the late William and Alice (Condon) Auman.
She was a member of First United Church of Christ, Hamburg.
Also surviving are a daughter, Pamela A. (Berger) Heckman, Upper Bern Township, and a son, Garry W. Berger, Hale, Mo.
Other survivors include a stepdaughter, Kelly Ann (Stine) Hoyer, Blandon, and a stepson, David W. Stine, in Texas.
There are also nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Additional survivors include two sisters, Francis (Auman) Brossman, Auburn, and Bette (Auman) Schaeffer, Schuylkill Haven.

Ralph L. Adams, 72
Private services were arranged by the Leibensperger Funeral Home, Hamburg, for Ralph L. Adams, of Forge Dam Road, Upper Bern Township, who died Aug. 7, 2003 in Reading Hospital, where he had been a patient two days.
Burial was in Frieden’s cemetery, Shartlesville.
Born in Upper Bern Township, he was a son of the late Lewis M. and Ada D. (Henne) Adams.
Until retiring in 1992, he was employed as a cook by Haag’s Hotel, Shartlesville, for 32 years.
He was a former driver for the Shartlesville Fire Company.
Surviving are Arlene G. (Smith) Brown, with whom he resided; a son, Thomas T. Adams, Upper Bern Township; and three daughters: Marjory A. (Adams) Groft, Bernville; Audra A. (Adams) Sonday, Pine Grove, Schuylkill County; and Carla J. (Adams) Dougherty, Tilden Township.
There are also six grandchildren and a brother, Earl M. Adams, Hamburg.
He was predeceased by a son, Richard M. Adams, who died in 1976.

Devin A. Elliott, infant
Private graveside services were held in Gethsemane cemetery for Devin Alexander Elliott, infant son of David A. Elliott Jr., of Elm Street, Leesport, and Renee Lynne Archival, of Temple, who was stillborn Aug. 5, 2003 in Reading Hospital.
Also surviving are his paternal grandmother, Michele L. (Noll) Elliott, Leesport; his maternal grandmother, Magdalena Kimmel, Reading; and his maternal step grandfather, Mark A. Kimmel, Reading.
Other survivors include his paternal great-grandparents, Arthur and Elizabeth (Noble) Noll, Wyomissing; and maternal great-grandparents Rafael Archival and Paula Vega, Reading, and Walter and Magdalena E. Kase, Mohrsville.
The Bean Funeral Home, Reading, was in charge of arrangements.

Joan E. Lord, 68
Private services were arranged by the Whelan Schwartz Funeral Home for Joan E. Lord, who died of natural causes Aug. 6, 2003 in her McCoy Lane, Bern Township residence.
She was the wife of William P. Lord.
Born in Meriden, Conn., she was a daughter of the late Robert and Susan (Sulik) Stevens.
Until retiring in 2000, she was employed as a corporate secretary by Lord Manufacturing Co., Hamburg, for 11 years.
She was a graduate of Clasical High School, Providence, R.I., and attended the Rhode Island College of Education.
Also surviving are three sons: William D. Lord, Rhinelander, Wis.; Robert B. Lord, McKinney, Texas; and Richard D. Lord, Vincennes, Ind.
There are also five grandchildren.
Other survivors include a sister, Barbara (Stevens) Sekellick, West Sand Lake, N.Y., and a brother, Robert Stevens Jr., Chelmsford, Mass.

Ferne A. Ziegler, 87
Memorial services will be held in New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ, East Greenville, Aug. 16, 2003, 10 a.m., for Ferne A. Ziegler, formerly of East Greenville, who died Aug. 7 in the Masonic Homes at Elizabethtown, Lancaster County.
Burial was in New Goshenhoppen cemetery.
She was the wife of George C. Ziegler, also a resident at the Masonic Homes at Elizabethtown. They celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on June 30.
Born in Hamburg, she was a daughter of the late Morris D. and Maggie L. (Schaller) Beahr.
She was a 1937 graduate of the McCann Business School.
Until retiring in 1986, she was employed as a bookkeeper for the Great Valley Girl Scout Council, Allentown, for 30 years.
Ziegler was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Perkiomen Chapter #318, Red Hill, Montgomery County.
Surviving are two daughters, Greta, wife of Kendall Flint, Richmond, Va., and Marcia L., wife of Ronald Jones, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, East Greenville, was in charge of arrangements.

Ethel M. Becker, 94
Services will be held Aug. 14, 2003, 10:30 a.m. in Leibensperger Funeral Home, Hamburg, for Ethel M. Becker, formerly of Catherine Street, Hamburg, who died Aug. 8 in Laurel Center Genesis Elder Care, Tilden Township, where she had resided since Aug. 2002.
Burial will be in St. John’s cemetery, Hamburg.
She was predeceased by her husband, Walter M. Becker, who died Jan. 5, 1993.
Born in Hamburg, she was a daughter of the late Raymond E. and Maggie (Correll) Casper.
She was a former officer of the Blue Mountain Chapter 443 of the Order of the Eastern Star, Hamburg.
Becker was a member of First United Church of Christ, Hamburg.
Surviving are six daughters: Margaret M. (Becker) Yoder, Ethel M. (Becker) Symanowicz and Joan L. (Becker) Turner, all of Hamburg; Anna B. (Becker) Bledsoe, Naples, Fla.; Barbara A. (Becker) Schappell, Windsor Township; and Sharon C. (Becker) Hanson, Mohrsville.
There are also 17 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Other survivors include a brother, Clyde C. Casper, Windsor Township, and a sister, Dorothy (Casper) Baver, Port Clinton.

Rea S. Kershner, 83
Services will be held Aug. 13, 12:30 p.m., in Trinity Bible Fellowship Church, Blandon, for Rea S. Kershner, of Main Street, Mohrsville, who died Aug. 9, 2003 in ManorCare Health Services, Muhlenberg Township where she had been a patient since May 9.
Burial will be in St. John’s (Gernants) cemetery, Ontelaunee Township.
She was predeceased by her husband, John L. Kershner, who died Jan. 14, 1975.
Born in Perry Township, she was a daughter of the late Thomas R. and Mary A. (Cronrath) Rausch.
She was a 1938 graduate of Perry High School.
Kershner was a member of Trinity Bible Fellowship Church. She was also a past president of the Women’s Guild of St. John’s (Gernant’s) United Church of Christ, Ontelaunee Township.
Surviving are a son, Gerald L. Kershner, Lititz, Lancaster County, and two daughters, Marilyn E. (Kershner) Kerschner, Mohrsville, and Susan K. (Kershner) Brummer, Gettysburg, Adams County.
There are also seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The Leibensperger Funeral Home, Centerport, is in charge of arrangements.

Richard D. Kirkhoff, 86
Services will be held Aug. 13, 11 a.m., in the Kirkhoff Funeral Home, Bernville, for Richard D. Kirkhoff, formerly of Indian Manor Drive, Leesport, who died Aug. 8, 2003 in Phoebe Berks Health Care Center, Wernersville, where he had resided since July 2002.
Burial will be in Bern cemetery, Bern Township.
He was the husband of Erma M. (Yenser) Kirkhoff.
Born in Penn Township, he was a son of the late Albert S. and Margaret (Davis) Kirkhoff.
Until retiring in 1979, he was employed by Carpenter Technology Corp., Reading, for over 23 years.
He was a member of Bern Lutheran Church, Bern Township, where he served as councilman.
Also surviving are a son, Robert R. Kirkhoff, Hershey, and two daughters, Linda M. (Kirkhoff) Mark, Annville, Lebanon County, and Jane E. (Kirkhoff) Limpus, North Canton, Ohio.
There are also five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Other survivors include a brother, Elwood Kirkhoff, Leesport, and a sister, Margaret (Kirkhoff) Baer, Mohrsville.
