MARGARET C. HERBST
Margaret C. Herbst, 80, of McDonald, died Tuesday, November 27, 2007, in her home. She was born January 30, 1927, in McKees Rocks, a daughter of Viktor and Elizabeth SOISSONG MEYER. Mrs. Herbst was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church, McDonald, Altar Society and the Ladies of Charity. On September 11, 1948, she married
Walter M. Herbst, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Patricia (Thomas) STEIMINGER and Barbara (Donald) ALRUTZ, both of McDonald; two sons, Edward (Kathleen) Herbst of Fredericktown and Walter (Tammy) Herbst of McDonald; two sisters, Elizabeth Maryann Herbst of McDonald and Mary Lou (Sarah Marie) DAVIS of Mt. Lebanon; two brothers, Joseph Meyer of California and Albert MILBERT of Virginia; nine grandchildren, Walter Michael, Melinda and William Herbst, Erica, Jessica and Donald Jason Alrutz and April, Megan and Thomas Patrick Steiminger; and three great-grandchildren, Brianna, Adryonna and Dylan Herbst. Deceased are five brothers, Leonard, Victor, George, James and Charles Meyer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday, November 30, in St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church, McDonald, with the Rev. John Harvey as celebrant. ALOYSIUS X. "AL" HILTGEN
65, of Inverness, died Wednesday (Dec. 20, 1989) at Citrus Memorial Hospital. Born in McKees Rocks, Pa., he came here 15 years ago from Erie, Pa. He was vice president and general manager with Calgon Corp. He was a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel and a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. He was a member of the Inverness Golf and Country Club, the Men's Association, and the 530th Fighter Squadron. Survivors include his wife, Sylvia; a son, Ken, Snellville, Ga.; two daughters, Janet KLASS, Irwin, Pa., and Susan HOUGH, Garner, N.C.; three sisters, Louise RUPP, Pittsburgh, Helen KELLERMAN of Florida, and Mary Jane LYNCH, Fort Wayne, Ind.; and seven grandchildren. MARY L. HOFFMAN
Mary L. Hoffman, 90, formerly of Chicora, died at 1:55 a.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2006, at Sunnyview Home. Born in McKees Rocks, Allegheny County, Oct. 5, 1915, she was the daughter of Stephen and Mary SOPCEK MACHALICA. She had worked at the Deshon Hospital, now the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and had been a nurse's aide at the McGinley Nursing Home, now the Betty Thomas Home, in Oakland Township, for several years. She was a former member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Sugarcreek Township, Armstrong County, for 40 years and had belonged to the Altar Society of the church. She was a current member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church on Franklin Street. She also belonged to the Chicora and the Tanglewood senior centers, AARP, the Chicora Women of the Moose, and the Women of JENOTA. Surviving are seven nephews and four nieces; and although she had no children, many of her grandnieces and grandnephews looked upon her as a grandmother. Her husband, Harry M. Hoffman, whom she married

Solemn high mass of requiem will be sung at 10 o'clock tomorrow morning in St. Aloysius' Church for A. Edward Hufnagel, a retired head of the Postal Savings Department of Pittsburgh, who died Saturday in his home, Mt. Troy Road Extension, following an illness of almost five years. Mr. Hufnagel was born in McKees Rocks in 1866. When he retired from the postal service, he was one of the oldest employees in point of continuous service. His record was 44 1/2 years, having been appointed a clerk in 1889. While employed in the postoffice department, Mr. Hufnagel made his home in the East End district. Upon his retirement, however, he moved to the Oesterle Estate, near Evergreen. He was a member of the Holy Name Society, Duquesne Council, Knights of Columbus, and the Veteran Postoffice Employees Association. Surviving are his widoe, Mrs. Anna K. OESTERLE Hufnagel, a daughter, Miss Anna M. Hufnagel; a brother, Henry, and a sister, Sister Ursula of the Order of St. Francis, who is now at the motherhouse, Mt. Alvernia, Millvale. CLAIR E. HUFNAGEL
Clair E. "Huffy" Hufnagel, 76, of Finleyville, died Thursday, December 20, 2007, in Canonsburg General Hospital.
He was born May 2, 1931, in McKees Rocks, a son of Edward J. and Elizabeth CARR Hufnagel.
Mr. Hufnagel was the owner of Huffy Trailer Sales in Finleyville, a business he and his family have operated for the past 45 years.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church. Mr. Hufnagel enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving are his wife, Loretta VanVOORHIS Hufnagel; four sons, Jeffrey Hufnagel of Finleyville, David Hufnagel and wife Kim of Finleyville and Patrick Hufnagel and wife Tammy and Timothy Hufnagel, both of Eighty Four; two brothers, Eugene Hufnagel of Courtney and Edward Hufnagel of Aurora, Colo.; 11 grandchildren, Neil, Kyle, David, Dean, Bradley, Patrick, Daniel, Timothy and Tyler Hufnagel, April SHAFFER and Amy DULANEY; two great-grandchildren, Chloe and Christopher Shaffer; and a niece and nephew.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Kegel Funeral Home Inc., Tim P. Kegel, supervisor, 3560 Washington Avenue, Finleyville.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. Monday, December 24, in St. Francis Assisi Church, Finleyville, with the Rev. Robert J. Boyle as celebrant.
Interment will follow in Mingo cemetery, Finleyville.

ANNA SEKELA HUSSAR
Anna Hussar, 89, of the Autumn Grove Care Center in Harrisville, formerly of Penn Avenue in Lyndora, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006 at the Grove City Medical Center. Born Jan. 17, 1917, in McKees Rocks, she was a daughter of Andrew and Mary KASCHIK SEKELA.
She was a homemaker and mother, and she was a member of St. John Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora.
Surviving are three sons, Peter Hussar Jr. of Hilliard, Ohio, Kenneth J. "Doats" Hussar of Butler and Michael A. Hussar of Meridian; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; a niece, and four nephews.
Her husband, Peter "Magoose" Hussar, whom she married
Sept. 21, 1941, died Jan. 6, 1996. A sister also preceded her in death. Friends of Anna Hussar, who died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006, will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, Lyndora, with the Rev. Dennis Bogda officiating.
Burial will follow at the Rose Hill cemetery.
