WILLIAM R. SHANCEY
William R. Shancey, 74, of Stowe, a retired welder for Dravo Corp., died of cancer Thursday at Allegheny General Hospital. Mr. Shancey retired in 1978 after 42 years of service at Dravo's light metals plant and boat yard in Neville Island. He was a World War II veteran and served with the Army counterintelligence corps. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Stowe. He is survived by his wife, Ann ANDERSON Shancey; a daughter, Marge CHEHANSKY of San Diego; a son, William of McKees Rocks; his mother, Helen of McKees Rocks; two brothers, Edward of Dunnellon, Fla., and Richard E. of Stowe; a sister, Helen DRISKO of Youngstown, Ohio; and three grandchildren. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 tonight and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Stover Funeral Home, 534 Island
Ave., McKees Rocks. The funeral will at be 10 a.m. Monday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 618 Russellwood Ave., Stowe. Burial will be in Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant
Hills.

CHARLES (CHICK) DALEY
Charles (Chick) Daley, 79, of Akron, died Friday, Oct. 21, 1988, at Manor Care, after a short illness. Mr. Daley was born in McKees Rocks, Pa. Sept. 27, 1909, and came to the Akron area 70 years ago. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army, and retired in 1975 from the General Tire & Rubber Co. as a purchaser in advertising after 45 years. He was a member of St. Martha's Catholic Church where he was an usher for many years. Surviving are his wife, Marie A.; sons, Donald Ross of Courtland, Ore. Ronald Ross of Cuyahoga Falls and Gary Ross of Royal Palm Beach, Fla.; seven grandchildren; brothers, Jack A. Daley of New Philadelphia, Joseph C. Daley of Los Angeles, Calif. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Rossi Funeral Home, 552 N. Main St., Sunday, 4 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be Monday, 10 a.m., at the funeral home, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Martha's Church. Interment at Holy Cross cemetery.

ARMANDO J. PASQUARELLI
On Monday February 4, 2008 Armando age 94, of Stowe Twp. Husband of Elizabeth YERIES; Father of Armand J. (Marlene) and Robert J. (JoAnn) Pasquarelli; Brother of Emilio Pasquarelli and the late Louis, Albert, Arthur and Anthony Pasquarelli and Susan BRAY, Rose LACHELLE, and Ida PANELLA; Loving Pap-pap of Alexandria, Olivia and Geoffrey Pasquarelli; Friends received at the ANTHONY M. MUSMANNO FUNERAL HOME, 700 7th St. McKees Rocks. Funeral Mass in St. Malachy Church on Thursday at 10am. Visitation WEDNESDAY ONLY 1-3 and 6-8pm.

WILLIAM PAVLIK
Lansing, MI - Age 86, passed away Monday, February 26, 2007 in Lansing. William was born on December 4, 1920 in Mckees Rocks, Pennsylvania, the son of Michael and Kata (GOZOCHUK) Pavlik. He was raised in Moundsville, West Virginia and moved to Lansing in 1945. William retired in 1980, after working 28 years for Oldsmobile Plant Protection, as a locksmith. He was a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church for many years, an avid golfer, enjoyed swimming at Oak Park, YMCA, Veteran of the Army Air Corps and US Army during WWII. William is survived by his brother, John (Frankie) Pavlik; sister, Helen (Louis) HUFNAGEL and many nieces & nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, and four brothers, Andy, George, Nick, Steve Pavlik. The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 2, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Casimir Catholic Church, 815 Sparrow Street, Lansing with Rev. Fr. William Lugger as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic cemetery. The family will receive friends at Palmer, Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Homes, 520 East Mt. Hope Ave., Lansing Chapel Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m

CATHERINE M. (HEMPHILL) YOEST
On Saturday, November 18, 2000, Catherine M. (Hemphill) Yoest, age 77, of McKees Rocks; beloved wife of the late Alois J. "Bud" Yoest; loving mother of Mary Jo LEWELLEN, Joseph, Daniel, Sister Beth, RSM and Charles Yoest and Meg LESTER; also survived by eight grandchildren; sister of Daniel, Joseph, Richard and the late Charles Hemphill. Friends

DANIEL YOEST
Dan Yoest was born August 1, 1954 in Mckees Rocks, PA to Alois and Catherine (Hemphill) Yoest. After attending St. Francis De Sales school for 11 years, Dan met the woman of his dreams his senior year when he changed high schools in 1971. Dan and Florence "Petie" Tucker were married on November 4, 1978 at St. Francis De Sales Parish in McKees Rocks, PA. He attended Duquesne University of Pittsburgh and graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Education in 1976. He would later obtain a Masters in Education specializing in Professional Development in May of 1995 and a second Masters in Educational Administration in August of 2000 from Heritage University in Toppenish, WA. Dan spent 12 honorable years in service to his country. He commissioned into the U.S. Army Infantry on July 21, 1976. He graduated from U.S. Army Airborne School, U.S. Army Air Assault School, and U.S. Army Ranger School while serving as a cadet at Duquesne. Dan served with the 2nd Infantry in Korea (Mar '77-Mar '78), attended U.S. Army Flight School at Ft. Rucker, AL (Mar '78-Jan '79), and served with the 82nd Airborne Division at Ft. Bragg, NC (Jan '79-Sep '82). During his time at Ft. Bragg, he was a part of the incorporation of the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment. He then served with the 101st Airborne Division at Ft. Campbell, KY and Ft. Rucker, AL (Sep '82-Mar '86) and was discharged from the Army at the rank of Major at Ft. Greeley, AK with the 6th Infantry (Mar '86-Mar '88) due to the deactivation of the unit. Dan moved his family to Yakima, WA on March 31, 1988, where they would reside until his untimely death on February 6, 2008. After dedicating most of his life to public service, he continued after the family arrived in Yakima and began a career in teaching that would touch his life, as well as many others. He taught at Lewis and Clark Middle School, Barge-Lincoln Elementary, and Hoover Elementary. Dan also taught Adult Basic Education at Yakima Valley Community College for 12 years. He helped start the Adult Basic Education program at the county jail, teaching for 2 years. Dan officiated football for 16 years and basketball for 5 years, and was involved with the Yakima Little League Association for 8 years. He was an active member of the Boy Scout community through his personal involvement as a Council Executive as well as through his two sons. He also enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, and camping. Dan was a fan of all sports, but was especially passionate about the Seattle Mariners and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Dan is survived by his wife of nearly 30 years, Florence, his daughter Tina (Joe) Sherry, his two sons, Adam and Michael, and his little buddy, Nelson (the Wonder Weiner Dog). He was a fair and loving man and will be missed dearly by his family, friends, and students. Burial with military honors at Calvary cemetery.

LOYAL J. YOUNG
Loyal J. Young, husband of Mrs. Fannie Young (nee Ely), suddenly, Oct. 28, 1906, at 2:05 A.M. at Youngstown, Ohio. Funeral from his late residence, 336 Woodward Ave., McKee's Rocks, Penn., on Tuesday, Oct. 30, at 3 P.M. Interment in Mount Calvary cemetery, McKee's Rocks, Penn.

PATTY (JURKOWSKI-SALAMON) YURKO
Patty, age 69, of Stowe Twp., on Monday, November 27, 2006; beloved wife of Ronald Yurko; loving mother of Gary Yurko; sister of John (Sherry) Salamon and Richard (Lorraine) Salamon. As per Patty's wishes, there will be no viewing and a private interment. Patty worked at the Pine Hollow Inn for over 20 years and will be sadly missed by her family and many friends. Family suggests memorial contributions be made to Gary Jurkowski, 1306 Pine Hollow Road, McKees Rocks, PA 15136. JOHN PAVLOVICH Jr.
Pavlovich Jr., John "Pavy"
Age 82, of McKees Rocks on Sunday, February 25, 2007; beloved husband of Marie (KLUCICK) son of the late John and Helen; brother of Michael "Mitch" of Windgap and George "Foo" of Upland, CA; uncle of Michael (Patty) Pavlovich, Jr. and Janet ARNOLD; stepfather of Carol (Dennis) KAUFMANN and Cheryl (Tom) ZAHORCHAK ; also survived by uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends received Tuesday 6-8 PM and Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the VALERIAN F. SZAL FUNERAL HOME INC., 238 Helen St, McKees Rocks where funeral services will be held on Thursday, 11:30 AM. John was a WWII Veteran captured on Oct. 1944 in Rhineland, Germany. After his release he joined the US Coast Guard from 1950-1953. He was a life member of the Pittsburgh Chapter of the American Ex-POW, 84th Infantry Division Rail Splitter Society, the Elks #1263, VFW 418 and the American Legion Post 618.

Of Stowe Twp., age 84, on Tues., Dec. 12, 2006. Loving wife of the late Dominic V. Petro; devoted mother of John (Marti) Petro, Marlene (Bill) WEBER and Donna (Chuck) BARTEL; sister of Nikki POE, Liz THOMAS, Phil & John Pieto and the late Anthony Pieto; beloved grandmother of Susan, Sharon, Denise, Mark, Amy, Melissa, Lindsey and Chelsea; also six great-grandchildren. Friends received at the ANTHONY J. SANVITO FUNERAL HOME, 1650 Broadway Ave., Stowe Twp. (McKees Rocks) on Sat. 6-8PM and on Sunday 2-4 & 6-8PM.

DOROTHY J. PFEUFFER
Age 80, on Tues., Sept. 17, 2002, of McKees Rocks, beloved mother of Sandra WOLF, Darlene RASBACH, Richard, Wayne, Dale, Dennis, Bruce, M. William, Thomas and the late Darrell Pfeuffer; 24 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sister of Dwayne HANKEY, Grace CAMPBELL and the late Charles Hankey. HELEN YARY PHILLIPS
Helen Yary Phillips, 82, a life-long resident of Kennedy Township, died on Saturday, March 24 [2001], in Ohio Valley General Hospital. She was born on Oct. 16, 1918 in McKees Rocks. Mrs. Phillips was a homemaker and member of St. Mary's Church. Surviving are her husband, Alfred Phillips of Kentucky; and her children-Alfred Phillips, Jr. of Kentucky, Rose FALLON of Thornburg and Kathleen WILDMAN of Sewickley. Also surviving are her brothers, Slokey Yary of Pittsburgh and William Yary of Virginia; and grandchildren-Elizabeth Fallon, Alfred Phillips, III, Heather and Angela Wildman. Her brother, Mike Yary, preceded her in death. Visitation was held in Anthony J. Sanvito, Inc. Funeral Home, Stowe Township, where a blessing service was held with the Rev. Larry Smith officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph's cemetery, Moon Township.

HELEN J. POLO
Helen J. Polo, 91, formerly of Penn Avenue in Lyndora died Saturday, March 20, 2004, at Sunnyview Nursing Home. Born Jan. 24, 1913, in McKees Rocks, she was a daughter of John and Ann CWIK MROCZEK. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Polo was a former member of St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church in Lyndora and a current member of St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Lyndora. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Nicholas (Teddi) HEIDER of Butler; a brother, Theodore "Ted" Mroczek of Butler; three grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her husband, Paul M. Polo, whom she married Aug. 17, 1941, died Jan. 6, 2001. Two brothers and a sister also preceded her in death. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial at noon Tuesday at St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, Lyndora. Burial will follow at Calvary cemetery. Arrangements by GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME
