EDWARD JOHN KROBOT
Edward John Krobot, 61, 580 S. Main St., Cambridge Springs, PA died Sunday, June 21, 1998, at Clarion Hospital in Clarion after a short illness. He was born July 27, 1936, in Pittsburgh. Mr. Krobot, who lived in McKees Rocks most of his life, worked at General Wire Spring Co. as an assembler for 29 years, retiring in June 1994. He was a member of McKees Rocks Elks Lodge 1623 and the McKees Rocks Sportsmen's Club. He was a social member of VFW Venango Post 169 a former member of the American Legion post in McKees Rocks. He was preceded in death by a sister, Edna CHIZAR; a brother, William Krobot; and his former wife, Jo Ann HILTGEN. He is survived by his wife of four years, Rita Krobot; a son, Edward Krobot Jr. of Monaca; four daughters, Mrs. Logan (CASSIE) James of Gunnison, Colo., Mrs. Michelle BECKER, Peggy Krobot and Julie Krobot, all of McKees Rocks; two stepsons, George E. Davis and James Michael Rough of Cambridge Springs; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Ron (Tammy) VAN HORSEN of Adrian, Minn.; three brothers, John, Floyd and William Krobot, all of McKees Rocks; 14 grandchildren, two great-granddaughters and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Van Matre Funeral Home, 335 Venango Ave., Cambridge Springs, today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A service will be held there Wednesday at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Rod Beardsley, pastor of Cambridge Springs First Baptist Church. Burial will be at Venango cemetery. June 22, 1998

LOUIS WEBER
Louis Weber, 64, of McKees Rocks, Pa., was killed yesterday when he was struck by the automobile of a hit and run driver on Caldwell rd., near Waukegan rd., in Niles.

On Sunday, December 28, 1997, Rosella of Lawrenceville, Ga., formerly of Stowe Twp.; wife of the late Arthur; father of Linda ESPER, Arthur Weber Jr. and Jo Ann WHITE; sister of Peter E. Fogdt; also four grandchildren and three step-grandchildren. Friends received Anthony M. Musmanno Funeral Home, 700 Seventh St., McKees Rocks. VIOLET TOPERINE WEBER
Violet Toperine Weber, 83, of McKees Rocks, died Jan. 26, 1999 in Mercy Hospital. She was born June 18, 1915 in McKees Rocks. Mrs. Weber was a life long resident of McKees Rocks. A homemaker, she was also a member of Mother of Sorrow's Church. Surviving are her husband, Charles Weber; her children, Betty Jane ACKERMAN of Pittsburgh and Charles Weber of McKees Rocks; her brother, Alfred Toperine of McKees Rocks; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Friends were received at Anthony J. Sanvito Funeral Home in Stowe Township. Interment is in St. Mary's cemetery.

Age 84, of McKees Rocks, on Saturday, December 16, 2006; beloved wife of the late John; loving mother of Ronald J. Welsh, Beverly A. DRIZOS, Catherine E. BOULWARE, Patricia L. (Kevin) KERIN, Barbara J. (Mike) CAMPBELLl; dear grandmother of Ronald J. Welsh, Jr., Dana L. MARTIN, Peter J. Drizos, Kevin F. Kerin, Nathaniel J. Boulware, Bradley Campbell, Tamara Campbell and the late Jamie Welsh; great grandmother of Alexis and Nicole Welsh, Blake and Austin Martin; sister of Margaret "Marge" MERMON and the late Ann CALDWELL, Marie PURDY, Sue STASIK, Betty VELEGDON and George Velegdon. RUSSELL WENDEL
Dr. Russell Wendel, a Stowe optometrist, died of cancer Saturday in Ohio Valley General Hospital. Dr. Wendel, 54, of MacArthur Way, Kennedy, was past president of the McKees Rocks Rotary Club and a member of Montour Country Club. His daughter, Claudi, had recently joined his optometry office as an associate. In addition to his daughter, he is survived by his wife, Patricia; two sons, Jeffrey of DeSoto, Texas, and Craig of Stowe; two other daughters, Diane of Baltimore and Bonnie of Stowe; and his parents, Frank and Edith Wendel of Kennedy. Friends may call from 3 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in McDermott Funeral Home inc., 1225 Chartiers Ave., McKees Rocks. A mass will be said at 10 a.m. tomorrow in St. Malachy Church, Forest Grove Road, Kenmawr. Burial will be in Resurrection cemetery, Moon. Post Gazette July 15, 1986.

JOSEPH KOCHIRKA
Joseph Kochirka, 86, born in Pittsburgh, former resident of McKees Rocks and Kennedy Twp. on Dec. 29, 2006; beloved husband of Anne (KRULAC); father of Janet (Kochirka) KOCH of VA; grandfather of Gregory Koch, also of VA. Friends may call Friday 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the McDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, INC., 334 Forest Grove Road, Kennedy Twp., Mass of Christian Burial Saturday 10 AM St. Malachy Church. JOSEPH J. KOCZUR, SR.
Joseph J. Koczur, Sr. was born on January 7, 1930 in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania. He joined the United States Army in 1948 and served in Japan, Okinawa, Korea, and Germany, as well as stateside assignments at Fort Gordon, GA, Fort Lewis, WA and The Presidio of San Francisco. Upon his retirement from the Army in 1968, he worked at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Lakewood, WA first as an aide on the wards, then as an administrative specialist. After retiring from the VA in 1992 he pursued his interests in bowling, fishing, gardening, skeet shooting, traveling, bird watching, stamp collecting and military crest collecting. He also volunteered at the VA and the Ft. Lewis Military Museum. He passed peacefully unto the Lord on April 9, 2008 with his wife and son at his side. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Ayako, his son Joe, Jr., his second son Doug Walters, his brother William Koczur and sister Ann HELINSKI. His infectious smile, his willingness to see the best in everyone and to help whomever and wherever he could will be missed, as will his love of children and puppies. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, May 3rd, 2008 at St. John Bosco Catholic Church, 10508 112th St. SW, Lakewood, WA. Rosary will be at 10:00 AM with Mass to follow at 11:00 AM and a reception at 12:00.

ALBERT KENNETH KOZAR, Sr.
Born in McKees Rocks, PA on July 5, 1921, passed away on Thursday, September 6, 2007. Mr. Kozar signed with the Boston Red Sox in 1941. After the '42 season he enlisted in the Army during WW II and saw duty in the Pacific. Mr. Kozar returned to the Red Sox organization in '46. In 1948 he was traded to the Washington Senators and was selected to the Rookie All-Star Team. He finished his career with the Chicago White Sox in 1954. In 1952 Mr. Kozar married Merilyn A. MAFERA of Boston, MA, a flight attendant with American Airlines. Mr. Kozar worked at Pratt & Whitney where he retired after 23 years of service. He was involved with coaching youth baseball at Al Tatum and Connie Mack programs from 1955-62. Mr. Kozar organized the P&W Fast pitch Softball Team at Currie Park and recruited a team of local All-Stars to travel the state. His retirement led to many enjoyable summers in Highlands, NC where kids, grandkids, and friends were always welcome at Mirror Lake. Even sportswriters managed to stop in for a brief quote or simply reminisce about the glory days of Bob Feller, Joe DiMaggio, and Ted Williams. A loving husband, father, and grandfather, he is survived by his wife of 55 years, Merilyn A. Kozar of Lake Worth, FL; a son, Albert K. Kozar, Jr. of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; a daughter, Paulee K. MULLINS and her husband Dan of Newnan, GA; four grandchildren, Albert III and Megan Kozar, and Stephanie and Jack Mullins; and one sister, Betty PACHUTA of Imperial, PA. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Monday at Quattlebaum Funeral Home, 1201 South Olive Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL. A Funeral mass will be celebrated at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, September 11, 2007, at St. Juliana Catholic Church, West Palm Beach, FL. In lieu of flowers donations, in his memory, may be made to Hospice of Palm Beach County, 5300 East Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL 33407

THELMA ODEN
Thelma Oden, 86, of Bridgeville, formerly of McDonald, died Monday, November 26, 2007, in Country Meadows of South Hills, South Fayette Township. She was born May 3, 1921, in McKees Rocks, a daughter of Matthew and Mildred Bell HALL. Mrs. Oden was a homemaker.
She originally was a member of Caldwell AME Zion Church, McDonald, but later became a member of First Baptist Church of McDonald, where she served as past vice president of the Missionary Society, a member of Willing Workers and Pastors Aid Society. A past daughter ruler and member of Rising Star Temple 177, Mrs. Oden also was past worthy matron and a member of Mary Chapter 24 Order of Eastern Star PHA. She was married to Charles Oden, who died August 19, 1989. Surviving are three daughters, Bernadine (Vinson)JONES of Coraopolis, Daisy Joyce ROSE of Rochester and Michelle Oden of Arlington Heights, Ill.; a son, Norman (Diane) Oden of Bridgeville; six grandchildren, Stephen, Maurice, Shawnda, Kimberly, Kevin and Rachel; and seven great-grandchildren. Deceased is a daughter, Mildred Cathy Oden. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in Nation Funeral Home Inc., 220 East Lincoln Avenue, McDonald. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 1, in First Baptist Church, McDonald, with the Rev. Keith Clark, officiating. Burial will follow in Robinson Run cemetery, McDonald.

ELIZABETH J. OESTERLING
Elizabeth J. Oesterling, 78, of 2223 Highland Drive in Summit Township died at 1:15 a.m. Friday, Aug. 26, 2005, at her residence. She was born Aug. 7, 1927, in McKees Rocks to John H and Bertha THURSTON HARKINS. Mrs. Oesterling was a homemaker. She loved to crochet, and she made beautiful Christmas gowns. She loved being with her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She attended the Wesleyan Methodist Church. Mrs. Oesterling is survived by her husband, John H. Oesterling, whom she married April 10, 1946; two sons, John H Oesterling Jr. and his wife, Suzanne, of Orlando, Fla., and Dean Oesterling of Butler; two daughters, Janie DOUTHETT and her husband, Carl, and Carol Oesterling, both of Butler; a brother, Jack HARKINS of Sarasota, Fla.; an aunt, Mrs. Dorothy JOHNSON of Sarasota; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Friends were received Sunday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St. A funeral service was held today at the funeral home with the Rev. James Lynn, her minister, officiating. Burial was at Butler County Memorial Park, Butler Township.

KEITH LAVERNE OESTERLING
Keith LaVerne Oesterling, 81, of Butler and of Port Ritchey, Fla., died at 11:05 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, 2005, at the Butler Memorial Hospital. Born March 29, 1924, in McKees Rocks, he was the son of Leland William and Marcella GRABE Oesterling. He belonged to St. John's Lutheran Church in Connoquenessing and to the All Saints Lutheran Church in Hudson, Fla. He also was a member of the Masonic Lodge 694, the New Castle Scottish Rite, the Syria Temple and the Buco Trailer Club. Mr. Oesterling retired as a grinder at Armco-Butler Works after 30 years, and he had also owned and operated his own backhoe. He was a former Pennsylvania sewage enforcement officer and a former Jefferson Township supervisor. He was a World War II Army veteran. His interests included playing card games, fishing, tending his citrus garden in Florida, reading, recycling papers for his church and listening to gospel music, hymns and marches. He especially enjoyed visits with his family and friends.
Surviving are his wife, Edith I. PROTZMAN Oesterling, whom he married Sept. 11, 1946; three daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Gregory HESS of Valencia and Mrs. Nancy and John ATWELL and Laura and Walter L. MILLER, both of Butler; a son and his wife, Bruce LaVerne and Cheryl Oesterling of Richmond, Ind.; seven grandchildren, Dr. Kelsie BERNOT and her husband, John, of Laurel, Md., Suzanne Atwell of Butler, Nicole STULTS and her husband, Dr. Daniel, of Richmond, Keith Atwell and his wife, Isabela, of Sickleville, N.J., Aubrie REEDY and her husband, Jason, of Fort Collins, Colo., and Nathan Oesterling and his wife, Carrie and Katie EVANS and her husband, Chad, both of Richmond; and five great-grandchildren, Kyler and Braeden Oesterling and Madeline and Hudson Stults, all of Richmond and Lacey Reedy of Fort Collins. He also is survived by six sisters, Mrs. Kenneth (Janice) FRY, Mrs. Wayne (Evelyn) CYPHER, Mrs. Donald (N. Carol) GREENWALT and Karen MULLIGAN, all of Butler, Mrs. Eleanor ENGLAND of Orlando, Fla., and Mrs. George (Kay) KUHN of Howell, Mich.; and three brothers, William Oesterling of Trenton, Mo. Charles Oesterling of Butler and Ronald Oesterling of Warren, Mich. Two sisters, Doris and Leah, preceded him in death. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 W. Jefferson St. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Gruenwald cemetery, Summit Township. Graveside military honors will be provided by VFW Post 249.Memorial contributions may be made to All Saints Lutheran Church, 9525 Hudson Ave., Hudson, FL 34667; St. John's Lutheran Church, Main Street, Connoquenessing, PA 16027; or St. Luke Lutheran Church, 330 Hannahstown Road, Cabot, PA 16023

LAWRENCE ERNEST OLIVIER
Entered peacefully into rest in Fremont on October 12, 2007. He was 72 years old. Born in Pittsburgh, PA on May 7, 1935, "Larry-O," as he was known, spent his entire working life in the sheet metal industry, the last 20 years as an estimator. A graduate of Stowe High School in McKees Rocks, Pa in 1953, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. Larry was a devoted family man, who took great pride in all of their accomplishments. He will be deeply missed. Larry is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 50 years, Catherine Olivier of Castro Valley; his daughters and their spouses, Victoria and Randolph SOUZA of Castro Valley and Kathryn and Charles Olivier-Dooly of Sewickley, PA; sisters, Elinor URAM of Beaver, PA and Rosemarie PENROD of Pittsburgh, PA; grandchildren, Cynthia VARNER and Christopher Lawrence Souza both of Castro Valley; great grandchildren, Maria, Angel, Jordan, and Josh; many nieces, nephews, extended family, and cherished friends and especially by his beloved dachshund "Bogie." Friends and family are invited to attend a funeral mass which will be celebrated at 11 am on Wednesday at St. John's Catholic Church, 264 E. Lewelling Blvd., San Lorenzo. Larry will be laid to rest with his parents at St. Mark's cemetery in McKees Rocks, PA
