THERESIA CECILIA THOMPSON
Theresia Cecilia Thompson, formerly of Coraopolis, PA and Sun City West, AZ, died Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at Savannah Commons. The Pennsylvania native was born in McKees Rocks, PA, May 23, 1921. She was the daughter of Lucas and Josephine (Schreiner) GASTNER. Theresia leaves a legacy of never knowing a stranger, humor and caring. Theresia graduated from Coraopolis High School in 1939. She was the star of her Senior Class play, "The Adorable Spend Thrift" and was known for a few good shots from her forward position on the basketball court. The love of her life, John W. Thompson, died in 2003 after 63 years of marriage. The two of them lived in a variety of states and countries due to John's employment in the steel and aluminum industries. They shared a wonderful life. The past 5 1/2 years, Theresia lived at Savannah Commons. The residents and great staff became a second family whom she loved dearly for their friendship and devotion to her care. Theresia was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers, Frank and Rudy and sister, Josephine. She is survived by her daughters, Judy (Joe) HUGHES of Ludowici, GA; and Tiffany (Jim) VOLOVICH of Kennett Square, PA; her loving sister, Marie RODY of Marietta, GA; five grandsons, Joseph (Tami) Hughes of Lexington, SC; John (Barbara) Hughes of Savannah, GA; Marc (Paige) Volovich of Haddonfield, NJ; Paul (Scharmagne) Volovich of Chatham, NJ and James (Diane) Hughes of Woodstock, GA and nine great-grandchildren Loyce, Jamie, Connor, Tyler, Parker, William, Reece, Elle, and Madeline. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Hermitage, PA at a later date.

PATRICK F. TIERNEY
Solemn requiem high mass for Patrick F. Tierney, 85, a retired Pittsburgh and Lake Erie railroad shop foreman, will be sung Tuesday at 9 a.m. in St. Francis de Sales Church, McKees Rocks. Mr. Tierney died Saturday in his home, 806 Bouquet Street, McKees Rocks. He came to McKees Rocks in 1901. In his younger days he was prominent in Democratic politics and claimed to be the oldest Democrat in the borough. Surviving are two daughters, Sabina Tierney and Mrs. Mary POPULO; a son James; a sister Mrs. Margaret FINAN, and four grandchildren. Friends are being received at the McDermott funeral home, 1225 Chartiers Avenue, McKees Rocks. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet cemetery, Carnegie.

TONY TREEMARCKI
Tony Treemarcki "Papa Tony", age 88, of Waxahachie, TX passed away Thursday evening, January 1, 2004 at Baylor Medical Center in Waxahachie TX . He was born January 22, 1915. He married Irma Marie BATTISTA on October 10, 1942 in McKees Rocks, PA. Tony was very active in the Boy Scouts of America and was a manager and coach for the Sto-Ken-Rox Little League Baseball Team in Pennsylvania. He retired from Shenango, Inc in Neville Island, PA in 1977 after 43 years of service. He was also the President of Citadel Lodge #163, Italian Sons and Daughters of America. In 1983 Tony moved to Waxahachie TX where he was a very active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Irma Battista Treemarcki of Waxahachie; daughter, Sandy KOSANOVICH and her husband, Louis, Sr. of Fort Worth; son, Mike Treemarcki and his wife, Janet of San Antonio; sister, Asunta (Sundy) VESCIO of Sewickley, PA; two brothers, John Treemarcki and his wife, Rosemary of Pittsburgh, PA and Domenic Treemarcki of McKees Rocks, PA; 4 grandchildren, Louis Kosanovich, Jr., Julie Kosanovich MALDONADO, Anthony and Matthew Treemarcki and 1 great grandson, Louis Kosanovich, III, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Visitation is scheduled for 4 - 6 PM Sunday, January 4, 2004 in the chapel of Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home with a rosary at 5 PM.

On December 30, 2006, age 80, of Stowe Twp. Wife of Albert Trello; mother of Patsy and Irene Trello of Moon Twp. and Patricia and Ralph ANDRUS of Economy; daughter of the late Carmella and Victor DiBENEDETTO; sister of the late Rosemarie PARINELLO and Harry DiBenedetto; grandmother of Neal and Jamie Andrus and Ginamaria, Giovanni and Jeremy Trello. Friends received Tuesday 2-4 & 6-8 pm at ANTHONY J. SANVITO INC. FUNERAL HOME, 1650 Broadway Ave., (Stowe Twp.), McKees Rocks, (Family Owned and Operated Since 1936). MICHAEL CHARLES TYLER
Age 55, of McKees Rocks, on Sat Dec 30, 2006. Beloved son of Margaret (PRIDDY); dear brother of Joseph (Cheryl), David (Coleen), Peggy (Ron), Patty, Ricky, Brian, Mark (Diann) & the late John and Mary; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends may call 2-4 & 6-8 pm TUESDAY at the MCDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1225 Chartiers Avenue, McKees Rocks where a gathering will take place 10am Wednesday, followed by a graveside service at Mt. Calvary cemetery.

JAMES BRYAN "CORNY" MANN
James Bryan "Corny" Mann, 86, longtime proprietor of Mann's Hotel in McKees Rocks, died Wednesday of kidney failure in Central Medical Center & Hospital. Mann was the owner-operator of the 182-year old hotel, at 23 Singer Ave., which has been in his family for 166 years. It is the oldest building in McKees Rocks and one of the oldest in Allegheny County. He is survived by three stepsons, Ted, of Robinson Township, Robert, of McKees Rocks, and Daniel, of Florida. He is also survived by two sisters, Violet GOMBESKI, of Ambridge, and Catherine RIDDLE, of Robinson Township. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and tomorrow at the McDermott Funeral Home, 1225 Chartiers Ave., McKees Rocks. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mount Calvary cemetery, Kennedy Township.

CONSTANCE HEMME MARTUCCI
Constance "Connie" Hemme Martucci, age 83 passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2007 at Pleasant Ridge Manor West. She was born on November 13, 1923 in McKees Rocks, Pa., the daughter of the late Norbert H. and Mary (ANDRASKO) Hemme. She had worked for the City of Erie in the Accounting Department. Connie was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church and its ladies guild. She loved playing golf and played in many leagues over the years. She enjoyed the Erie Playhouse and painting. Connie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 37 years , Salvatore Joseph Martucci in 1984, and a son Lyle N. Martucci. Survivors include a son, Joel Martucci, wife Jane, of Osprey, Fla., two grandchildren, Ian and Maia Martucci, and several cousins. Calling at the Brugger Home for Funerals,1595 West 38th at Greengarden Blvd. Wednesday 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services there Thursday 10:30 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Blessed Sacrament Church 11:00 a.m. Burial on the family lot in Gate of Heaven cemetery. TONY J. MARZLAK
Tony J. Marzlak, 84, of Crescent Township, died Saturday, Feb. 27, 1999, in Allegheny General Hospital. Born Dec. 26, 1914, in McKees Rocks, a son of the late Anton and Frances CAVLOVIC Marzlak, he was a retired employee of the Seamless Tube Department of LTV Steel, Aliquippa. He was a member of St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church, Crescent Township; C.F.U. American Serbian Club; Crescent Township Volunteer Fire Department, and the Allegheny County Chiefs Association. Surviving are his wife, Pauline FABEC Marzlak; a son, Ralph Marzlak, Washington, D.C.; a daughter, Bonnie Marzlak, San Francisco, Calif., and a sister, Cathryn SWARTZ, Crescent Township. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Marzlak. Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the WAYNE N. TATALOVICH FUNERAL HOME, 2205 McMinn St., Aliquippa.

BETTY (YACHO) MASTERSON
Betty (Yacho) Masterson, 75, a life-long resident of McKees Rocks, died on Tuesday, March 20 [2001], at her home. She was born on July 20, 1925 in McKees Rocks. Mrs. Masterson was a waitress at the Sewickley Country Inn and a member of the St. Malachy Church. Her husband, Charles Masterson, preceded her in death. Surviving are her children, Richard WOLATA of Kennedy Township; Kathleen Wolata, North Versailles; Steve KOTIK, McKees Rocks-Robinson Township; and Sandra JULIUS, Kennedy. Also surviving are her two sisters, Martha SMITH of Florida and Roberta SHIELDS, New Jersey, along with nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Visitation was held in Anthony J. Sanvito, Inc. Funeral Home, Stowe Township

JOSEPH C. MATYAZ
Joseph C. Matyaz, 62, of State College PA, formerly of Springfield, VA, died Thursday, December 8, 2005 after a brief battle with cancer. Born in Stowe Twp., PA, he graduated from Penn State in 1964, and George Washington University in 1976. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1964 to 1985 and served at the Pentagon in the Office of Special Investigations for many years. He was also a manager at Fischer's Hardware, Springfield, VA. He is survived by his mother, Katharine, Pittsburgh, PA, his wife, Bernice, and two sons, Joseph, Bethesda, MD (married to the former Mary Anne Link), and David, Cheswick, PA. The funeral service was held on Monday, December 12, 2005 at Koch Funeral Home, State College, PA. Burial was in Boalsburg cemetery with full military honors. Washington Post, The (DC)

HARRIET MCALEER
Mrs. Harriet McAleer, 73, died Saturday, January 11, 1936, in the home of her daughter, Mrs. John S. FRAZIER, in McKees Rocks. Mrs. MCALEER was born in Hampton township and had been a resident of McKees Rocks the past 47 years. She was a member of the McKees Rocks Presbyterian church. She leaves besides Mrs. FRAZIER, four other daughters, Mrs. James ARNOLD and Mrs. Edward GREER, both of McKees Rocks; Mrs. Claude IRWIN of McDonald, and Mrs. Frank NORMAN of Gibsonia, and three sons, Robert, Benjamin, and Norman, all of McKees Rocks. ALBERT W. MCELHANEY
Albert W. McElhaney, 72, of Butler, died at 4:48 a.m. Friday, March 19, 1999, in St. Francis Central Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born Oct. 1, 1926, in McKees Rocks, a son of the late Albert William McElhaney Sr. and Sarah (KELLEY) McElhaney, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II. He retired from the Perry Nuclear Power Plant in Perry, Ohio, and had also worked for 15 years with Fisher Control in Coraopolis and the Betchel Corp. in San Francisco. Surviving are his wife, Virginia C. YOUNG HILDERBRAND McElhaney, whom he married Aug. 24, 1974; five daughters, Mrs. Rick (Lynn) RUTTINGER, Moon Township; Mrs. Jack (Connie) BRUTT, Hopewell Township; Mrs. Al (Diane) FARAGO and Mrs. John (Lori Ann) D'ANGELO, both of Moon Township, and Mrs. Herbert (Kimberly) SCRIBNER, Butler; a son, Albert "Skip" McElhaney, Hopewell Township; 10 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a sister, Mrs. Carl (Isabelle) CASSIDY, Louisville, Ky., and a brother, James McElhaney, Lakeland, Fla. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Luella Mae McElhaney, and a sister. Friends will be received today from noon to 3 and 7 p.m. until time of services at 9:15 p.m. in the YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 West Jefferson St., Butler. Burial will be private.
