JOHN M. ROTH
Spanish-American War Vet
Funeral services for John Martin Roth, an engineer for the Montour Railroad for the past 23 years, were held yesterday at 8:30 p.m. from the Clever and Stover funeral home, 534 Island Avenue, McKees Rocks. Burial will be today at 2 p.m. at the Crown Hill cemetery, Prospect, Pa. Mr. Roth who died Friday at his home, 506 Marwood Avenue, McKees Rocks, had been a resident of that district for the past 42 years. He was a member of the Mr. Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church; Chartiers Valley Lodge No. 747, F.&A.M.; the Captain A. E. Hunt No. 1 Chapter of the Spanish-American War Veterans and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Engineers. Mr. Roth is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bertha SHAFFER Roth; two sons, Samuel and Willam, both of Stowe township, and a sister, Mrs. Eva RIDDLE of Youngstown, Ohio.

FRANCIS J. RUDZIK
Francis J. Rudzik, 67, 4831 Saxon Drive, New Smyrna Beach, died Wednesday. Born in McKees Rocks, Pa., he moved to New Smyrna Beach from Orlando in 1972. He was former manager of Surfside Condominiums. He was a member of the Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a 4th Degree member of the Monsignor Bishop Council 2112, a member of the Knights of Columbus, Orlando, and Elks Lodge 1557, New Smyrna Beach. Survivors: wife, Ann; sons, Frank, Titusville, Greg, Tallahassee; daughters, Barbara, Monica, both of Chicago; brothers, Joseph, George, Edward, all of Pittsburgh; sisters, Ann, Mary, both of McKees Rocks, Vern KMEC, Margaret WALLACE, Theresa LINK, all of Pittsburgh; five grandchildren. On August 28, 2006, age 75, of Stowe Twp. Beloved husband of Geraldine (ZENESKI) Cersosimo. Beloved father of Kathy (Glenn) PUTAS and Rocky (Lisa) Cersosimo. Son of the late Michelina and Leonardo Cersosimo; beloved grandfather of Amy and Brian Putas and Rocky, Anthony, Vincent and Nico Cersosimo; brother of Dom (Betty) Cersosimo, Lenny (Mary) Cersosimo and the late Angie, Toni, Vicky, Joe and Andy; brother-in-law of Chuck SENDEK and Enis Cersosimo. Friends received Thurs. and Fri. 2-4 and 6-8 pm in ANTHONY J. SANVITO INC. FUNERAL HOME, 1650 Broadway, McKees Rocks (Stowe Twp.) family owned and operated since 1936. ANTHONY JOHN CHESKI
Anthony John Cheski, 81, 920 W. New York Ave., DeLand, died Monday. Born in McKees Rock, Pa., he moved to DeLand in 1984. He was a retired machinist in the steel industry and a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, DeLand. There are no known survivors. MARGARET SULZER CHMIEL
On Monday, June 11, 1984, Margaret of Stowe Twp; wife of the late Edward; mother of Richard; sister of Frank and George Sulzer, Helen FEKETY, Marion WOLF and Frieda SCHMIDT. Friends received at Anthony M. Musmanno Funeral Home, 700 7th St., McKees Rocks, Funeral Service Wed. 10 a.m. Visitations 2-4 & 7-9.

PVT. HOWARD COCHENOUR
Solemn requiem high mass for Pvt. Howard G. Cochenour, 19, son of Mrs. Stella WALSH Cochenour of 807 Liberty St., McKees Rocks, and of the late Howard Cochenour, will be sung at 9 a.m. Nov. 29, in St. Frances De Sales Church, McKees Rocks. Pvt. Cochenour, killed in action in France, Sept. 27, was first reported missing. He attended Stowe High School and before entering the service June 17, 1943, he was employed by the Hankey Baking Co., McKees Rocks. Pvt. Cochenour had been serving overseas since November, 1943, going first to North Africa, and then to Italy, where he was wounded twice and was awarded the Purple Heart, the Oak Leaf Cluster and a Good Conduct Bar. He took part in the invasion of Southern France. Besides his mother, Pvt. Cochenour is survived by two sisters, the Misses Jean and Dolores Cochenour; and his grandmothers, Mrs. Catherine Walsh, 50 Highland Ave., McKees Rocks, and Mrs. Laura Cochenour of 1012 Dorham St., McKees Rocks.

ALIA R. (Di PIETRANTONIO) COLOSIMO
Age 76 of Sewickley, formerly of McKees Rocks, on Tues. Jan. 20, 2004; beloved wife of the late Anthony Joseph Colosimo; loving mother of Dr. Vincent (Linda) Colosimo of CA, Anthony J. Colosimo, Christine (Vincent) LoBIANCO, Joseph (Lynda) Colosimo and John (Shelley) Colosimo of CA; dear grandmother of Heidi GREENING, Anthony Joseph Colosimo, Dominic Colosimo and Sofia Christina Colosimo; great-grandmother of Emma Greening and Colin Greening; sister of Emma MANCINI, Annie PIRRO and the late John Di Pietrantonio. At his home on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2006, age 50 of Sewickley, formerly of McKees Rocks; beloved son of the late Alia (DiPietrantonio) and Anthony Colosimo; loving brother of Dr. Vincent (Lynda) Colosimo of CA, Christine (Vincent) LoBianco of Phoenix, Joseph (Linda) Colosimo of Sewickley, and John (Shelley) Colosimo of CA; uncle to A.J. & Dominic Colosimo, Heidi (Jeremy) Greening, and Sofia Colosimo; great-uncle to Emma and Colin Greening. Mr. Colosimo was a member of Rotary and Sewickley Chamber of Commerce. He also owned and operated the Anthony J. Colosimo Nationwide Insurance Agency in Sewickley. JOHN M. CRAMER
John M. "Jack" Cramer, 79, formerly of Pittsburgh, died Tuesday, February 21, 2006, at Country Meadows of York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 950 W. Market St., York, with a visitation from 9:30 to 10 a.m. at the church. His pastor, the Rev. Thomas R. Hoke, will be officiating. The Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York, is in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Cramer was born in Stowe Twp., near Pittsburgh, on February 19, 1927, a son of the late Carl L. and Olive M. (MERSCHER) Cramer. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in York and was an avid golfer. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Mr. Cramer leaves a brother, Robert L. Cramer of McKees Rocks, Pa. THELMA VAVREK CYPHER
Thelma Vavrek Cypher, of Country Club Drive, died Sunday, March 2, 2008 in the Brunswick Community Hospital. Mrs. Cypher was born in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania, to the late Andrew and Mary Miskanin Vavrek. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Segada; and three brothers, Andrew, Luke, and Carl Vavrek. She was an executive secretary for Pittsburgh Coke & Chemical Company and also The Hillman Company. She was a member of the Brierwood Ladies Golf Association. Surviving are her husband, of 39 years, William "Bill" Cypher Sr.; one brother, David Vavrek of Lake Worth, Fla.; two stepsons, William Cypher Jr. and Kenneth Cypher, both of Pittsburgh; and was well loved by many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted 9 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2008 in the St. Brendan's Catholic Church. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Resurrection Catholic cemetery, Pittsburgh.
