LOUIS J. BENEDYK

Louis J. Benedyk, 82, of Jeannette, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000, in A Better Place Personal Care Home, Salem Township. He was born Sept. 13, 1917, in Braddock, a son of the late Thomas and Theodora Zyga Benedyk. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Westinghouse Electric in Trafford. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Jeannette. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Walter Benedyk. Surviving are his wife, Florence Stegner Benedyk; five daughters , Paula Groves and husband, Stanley, of Florida, Patricia Szarama of Greensburg, Mary Paklonsky of St. Paul, Minn., Diane Lander of Newville and Quoetta Coyne of Pittsburgh; two sisters , Helen Sosnowski of Buffalo, N.Y., and Frances Laskoski and husband, Louis, of Old Stanton; 17 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the JOHN V. GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME INC., 228 N. Second St., Jeannette, Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Hempfield Township.

Lloyd T. `Bill' Bryson Lloyd T. "Bill" Bryson died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000, in St. Francis Hospital North, Cranberry. Born in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Lloyd and Emily Fieldhouse Bryson. Mr. Bryson was an Army veteran of World War II who served in the European Theater. He was a self-employed drapery designer and installer. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Mars and the American Legion Post 474 in Zelienople. He enjoyed camping at Vacation Land on Sandy Lake and was a member of the "Round Table" at the Brush Creek Inn. Survivors include his wife, Edithe Bryson; a son, Clifford L. Bryson of Cranberry; a daughter, Carol S. Thomas of Cranberry; two sisters , Sara Jane of Harrisburg and Janet of Ohio; seven grandchildren; and nine great- grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. ®MDBO¯Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in GLENN-KILDOO CRANBERRY CHAPEL, 130 Wisconsin Ave., Cranberry, where services will be at 10 a.m. Friday. William Bucsek

William Bucsek, 73, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000, in his home. Born March 18, 1927, in Yugoslavia, he was the son of the late George and Louise Svetez Bucsek. Mr. Bucsek was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a retired mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. Mr. Bucsek was a member of the West View Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, the Etna Elks Club, the DOH and the Etna Elks Golf and Bowling leagues. Survivors include his wife, Mary Alice Bucsek; four daughters , Cindy Vokes of Lower Burrell, Patricia Dallimonti of South Carolina and Tammy Brantner and Amy Hall, both of Shaler; three sons , George Bucsek of Shaler, Gary Bucsek of West Deer and Randy Bucsek of Petrolia; a brother, George Bucsek of Shaler; 12 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Bucsek. ®MDBO¯Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in NEELY FUNERAL HOME, 2208 Mt. Royal Blvd., Shaler, where a parish vigil service will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday. Christian Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday in All Saints Roman Catholic Church, Etna. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205.

AGNES R. CRESCENZO

Agnes R. Crescenzo, 80, of Jeannette, died Monday, Aug. 7, 2000, in Jeannette District Memorial Hospital. She was born June 7, 1920, in Harrison City, a daughter of the late Lubbis and Margory Thomas Kistler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Crescenzo in 1986; a son, Raymond Crescenzo; three brothers , Charles, Louis and Edward Kistler; two sisters , Thelma Neiman and Zana Scott; and two grandchildren, Raymond and Andrew Crescenzo. She is survived by three sons , Jack and wife, Laura Lee Crescenzo, of Jeannette, David and wife, Margaret Crescenzo, of Tennessee, and Wayne and wife, Lorraine Crescenzo, of Calumet; a daughter, Marjorie and husband, Richard Jupena, of Jeannette; a brother, Robert and wife, Kate Kistler, of Conway; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Friends were received at the JAMES E. LINDSAY FUNERAL HOME INC., Main Street, Harrison City, Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Chris Livermore officiating. Interment will be private.

CORNELIOUS GORDON

Cornelious Gordon, 64, passed away Monday, July 24, 2000. He retired from Kelly Air Force Base after 30 years of service. Survived by his wife, Sondria Shaw Gordon, formerly of Jeannette, who now resides in San Antonio, Texas . Memorial service will be held in August.

Mary R. Matta Haydock

Mary R. Matta Haydock, 80, of West Mifflin, on Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000. Wife of the late Anthony; mother of Rose Alitt of Irwin, Susan Carrano of West Mifflin, and Toni Horvath of North Huntingdon; sister of Helen Blackwell and Betty Mullen of Whitaker, and the late Joseph Matta. Ernest Edward Hefferle, 85, of Metairie, La., a retired college and professional football coach, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000, of natural causes, at Metropolitan Hospice, Metairie. A son of Jennie Skufca and Matthew Hefferle, he was born in Herminie and lived in Metairie for the past 28 years. Survivors include his wife, Elsie Schuler Hefferle; three daughters , Yvonne Cadwallader of Las Vegas, Nev., Cheryle Hahnfeldt of Great Falls, Va., and Jean Kobeski of Walpole, N.H.; two stepdaughters, Linda Bourgeois and Donna Plaia of Kenner, La.; a stepson, Lewis Schuler III, of Metairie, La.; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Stephanie Litterini, of North Huntingdon. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth Ovsec Hefferle; four sisters ; and two brothers . Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, La., Friday at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park. Visitation Thursday from 7 until 10 p.m. and Friday from 9 until 11:30 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Metropolitan Hospice, 1221 S. Clearview Parkway, Metairie, La.

Catherine O. Interthal, of Shaler Township, on Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000. Beloved wife of 52 years to Ralph O. Interthal. Beloved mother of Ralph W. Interthal, Michael Interthal, Mark Interthal, Noreen Re, and Justine Kotchey; also 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. VERONICA OLGA (KONKOL) JANETKA

Veronica Olga (Konkol) Janetka, 76, of Saltsburg, died Monday, Aug. 7, 2000, in Harmon House, Mt. Pleasant. She was born Oct. 26, 1923, in Aultman, a daughter of the late Michael and Veronica (Solcik) Konkol. Veronica was a member of St. Sylvester's Catholic Church, Slickville, its Rosary Altar Society and choir, and was a C.C.D. teacher for the church. She was a member of the First Catholic Slovak Union. An avid Dodgers baseball fan, Veronica loved playing softball, working with her flowers and gardening. She also enjoyed canning and embroidering. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Janetka; four sisters , Susan Konkol, Jennie Seath, Ann Lipchick and Mary Bucko; and four brothers , Ralph, Andrew, George and John Konkol. She is survived by her loving children: a son, Paul Janetka and wife, Dolores, of Penn Hills; daughters , Patricia Hart and husband, Glenn, of Southwest and Mary Susan Tranchine and husband, James, of Export; a brother, Martin Konkol of Aultman; a sister, Pauline Stibrik of Pittsburgh; and a number of nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received at the VAIA FUNERAL HOME INC. AT TWIN VALLEY, 463 Athena Drive, Delmont, (724) 468-1177, beginning Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Veronica's Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Sylvester's Catholic Church, Slickville, with the Rev. CLYDE A. KLINGENSMITH

Clyde A. Klingensmith, 86, of Stahlstown RD1, formerly of Jeannette, died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000, at his residence. He was born in Ohio, Dec. 22, 1913, a son of the late James A. and Cleo Ream Klingensmith. He was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Advent of Jeannette and the Mended Hearts Association of Latrobe. Prior to his retirement in 1975, he had been employed by the former ITE Co. in South Greensburg for 20 years. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Klingensmith; and a sister, Blanche Richmond. Surviving are his wife, Grace Buttermore Klingensmith; two sons , Ralph A. and his wife, Wanda, of Hopkinsville, Ky., and Mark A. and his wife, Kathy, of Jeannette; a daughter, Karen Bortz and her husband, Raymond, of Farmington; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the LAWRENCE J. McCLURE FUNERAL HOME, 112 N. Second St., Jeannette, Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home chapel Saturday morning at 10:30 with Father Joseph Martin officiating. Interment will be in the Westmoreland County Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Margaret (Jakovac) Kremen

Age 84, on August 8, 2000, formerly of McKees Rocks. Beloved wife of the late Paul Kremen; mother of Paul F. AGNES J. KRETT

Agnes J. Krett, 86, of Pensacola, Fla., formerly of Belle Vernon, died Monday, Aug. 7, 2000, in Tandem Health Care Center, Pensacola, Fla. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, May 29, 1914, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Isabell (Carrick) Johnston. Mrs. Krett worked at the Leesburg Community Hospital as a hospital ward secretary. She was a member of the Pricedale Union Church and the daughters of the British Empire. She is survived by her three sons and daughters -in-law, William D. and Frances Krett of Coal Center, Michael J. and Norma Krett of Belle Vernon, and Robert L. and Wendy Krett of Pensacola, Fla.; three brothers and sisters -in-law, Thomas and Nathalie Johnston of Belle Vernon, James and Catherine Johnston of Coal Center, and Robert and Betty Johnston of Canton, Ohio; a sister and brother-in-law, Florence and James Weir of Belle Vernon; eight grandchildren, William Krett Jr., Cynthia Funicello, Deborah Krett, Jeffery Krett, Jody Krett, Joel Krett, Randolph Krett and Timothy Krett; and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael J. Krett, in 1981; and two sisters , Martha McBride, and Isabell Y. Johnston, in 1997. There will be a private family visitation Friday in the JAMES C. STUMP FUNERAL HOME INC., 580 Circle Drive, Sweeney Plan/Rostraver Township, followed by a private funeral service in the funeral home with the Rev. James J. Mimidis officiating. Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.

RAYMOND J. LANKEY

Raymond J. Lankey, 69, of Mt. Pleasant, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000, in Harmon House Convalescent Center, Mt. Pleasant. Born July 20, 1931, in Acme, he was a son of the late Arthur and Clair Albright Lankey. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a carpenter. He was a member of the Mt. Joy Church of the Brethren. He is survived by his loving family; his wife, Lucy Yanniello Lankey; his sister, Margaret Gearhart, of Connellsville; his brother, Earl Lankey, of Donegal; and Milton Lankey. Friends will be received at GALONE-CARUSO'S, 204 Eagle St., Mt. Pleasant, Thursday from 7 p.m. until the time of service at 9 p.m. with the Rev. Charles D. Whipple officiating. Private interment in Mt. Joy Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant.
