Kermit E. Leitzel
Kermit E. Leitzel, age 85, formerly of Tower City, died Sunday, April 20, 2003, at the Tremont Nursing Home.
He was a retired plaster and dry wall finisher; a member of Liberty Hose Company No. 2, Lykens; Gratz V.F.W. Post No. 2385 and enjoyed fishing.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Hand Leitzel; a daughter, Carol and a son, Larry.
Surviving are seven children, Elwood, Donald and James Leitzel, Doreen Snyder, all of Wiconisco, Gary Leitzel of Berrysburg, David Leitzel of Orwin, and Craig Leitzel of Valley View; two brothers, John Wiggins of Arizona, and Rickey Wiggins of Tennessee; 18 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family at Fairview cemetery, Muir.

Robert E. Kulp
Robert E. Kulp, age 67, of Millersburg, died Sunday, April 20, 2003, at his home.
He attended Calvary Wesleyan Church, Millersburg. He was retired from Sausman Insurance Agency, Thompsontown; and was formerly employed by USF&G; Insurance; CIGNA; and Statesman Insurance as an underwriter.
He was an ordained minister and previously served Grace Chapel, Weatherly; Christian & Missionary Alliance, Cly; Pine Grove Church of God, Newport; Glenvale Church of God, Marysville; Crossroads Independent Church, Lewisberry; and East Hanover Church of God, Grantville.
He was a graduate of Duncannon High School.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Elnora Maxwell Kulp.
Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Estella Asper Kulp; two sons, Gary R. Kulp of Millersburg and Kevin D. Kulp of Dalmatia; his father, John H. Kulp, Sr., of Duncannon; a sister, Susie Feltman of Tucson, AZ; a brother, John 'Cork' Kulp, Jr., of Oberlin; and one granddaughter.
Services will be held on Wednesday, April 23, at 10 a.m. from Ronald C.L. Smith Funeral Home, 325 N. High Street, Duncannon, with Rev. Robert Simpkins officiating. Burial will be in Duncannon cemetery. Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.

Willis C. Fidler
Willis C. Fidler, 80, of Pine Grove, died Wednesday, April 16, 2003, at Lebanon VA Medical Center.
Born in Pine Grove, May 3, 1922, he was a son of the late Paul M. and Alice S. Strausser Fidler.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving with the Co. F, 8th Infantry. He was in the battle of Normandy and was wounded in the European Theater on June 11, 1944. He received a Bronze Battle Star, European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon, Victory Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon and Purple Heart.
He was a retired truck driver for Fort Indiantown Gap Military Reservation. He was one of the pioneers in radio and television repairs and sales in the Pine Grove area. He was a former Pine Grove Township tax collector.
He was a member of Oak Grove Brethren Chapel, Pine Grove.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, the former Ruth Ann Aungst, on Aug. 10, 2000; a brother, Eugene; a sister, Anna Zerbe.
Surviving are a daughter, Carol A. Schaeffer of Pine Grove; a brother, Robert of Pine Grove; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services were held Monday, April 21, from H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, with the Rev. Paul Hartz officiating. Interment was in Indiantown Gap National cemetery, Annville.

Wesley J. Elgard
Wesley J. Elgard, 60, of Williamstown, died Saturday, April 19, 2003, at the Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, Pottsville.
Born in Summerville, NJ on January 25, 1943, he was a son of the late Joseph and Dorothy Elgard.
He was previously employed as a food service director.
He was a Vietnam Army Veteran and had over 14 years of service.
He was a former member of the Christ Lutheran Church, New Bloomfield, and a former member of the New Bloomfield Lions Club.
He was predeceased by a sister, Marsha Elgard.
Surviving are a son, Joseph W., of Williamstown; a step-son, Michael R. Elgard of Carlisle; his companion, Catherine E. Davis, with whom he resided; and three brothers, Dory, Craig and Eddie, all of Summerville, NJ.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, April 24, at 11 a.m., from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Homes, Inc., Tower City. Interment with full military honors will be in Ft. Indiantown Gap National cemetery, Annville.

Elizabeth A. "Betty" Charney, 74, of Wiconisco, died Tuesday, April 15, 2003, at home.
Born in Wiconisco, November 23, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Kostival Charney. She was a graduate of Wiconisco High School.
She was retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry after 43 years of service.
She was a member of Our Lady of Help Christians Roman Catholic Church, Lykens.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, in Our Lady of Help Christians cemetery, with the Rev. Robert S. Panza officiating. There will be no viewing or visitation. John R. Shultz Funeral Home, Lykens, is in charge of arrangements.
Harry A. Wiest
Harry A. Wiest, 80, of RD 1, Dornsife, died Saturday, April 12, 2003, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born in Klingerstown, June 3, 1922, he was a son of the late William and Maudie Mae Klinger Wiest.
He was a retired farmer and coal miner, formerly employed at Reading Coal & Iron Co. He was educated in the Klingerstown area schools.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Adams Wiest, who died July 1996; a daughter, Cindy; two brothers, Charles and Johnny Wiest; three sisters, Daisy Miller, Tillie Willerd, and Shirley Wiest.
Surviving are three daughters, Jean Keller of York, Carol Hensler of San Diego, CA, and Wanda Erdman of Herndon RD; a foster son, Glenn Everett of Montgomery; two brothers, James Wiest of Lykens, and Billy Wiest of Millersburg; and four grandchildren.
Services will e held Wednesday, April 16, at 11 a.m. at James A. Reed Funeral Home, Pillow. The Rev. Bud Rutherford will officiate. Viewing will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be in County Line cemetery, Dalmatia.

Michael E. Walters
Michael Edward Walters, 41, of Joliett, died Friday, April 11, 2003, at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, Pottsville.
Born in Lebanon, December 20, 1961, he was a son of Nancy Kleinfelter Walters of Lebanon, and the late Weldon Mack Walters.
He was employed as an assembler at Manorford Manufactured Homes, Pine Grove. He was a former member of the Lebanon Fire Co.
He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Penny Walters.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Connie Madenford Walters; two daughters, Amanda Walters and Courtney Huth, both at home; a maternal grandmother, Mary Kleinfelter of Lebanon; two brothers, Bobby Walters of Morgantown, and Weldon Walters, Jr., of Lebanon; two sisters, Anita Kline of Annville, and Paula Kline of Lebanon; nieces, nephews, and a great-nephew.
Religious services will be held on Wednesday, April 16, at 7:30 p.m. at Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View. The Rev. Curtis Zemencik will officiate. Viewing will be Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. until time of service.

Jean M. Rodichok
Jean M. Rodichok, 66, of Tower City, died Thursday, April 10, 2003, at Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Gratz, December 30, 1936, she was a daughter of the Homer and Mary Schaeffer Scheib. She was a graduate of Hubley Township High School.
She was a retired seamstress from the former J.E. Morgan Knitting Mills Inc., Tower City.
She was of the Catholic faith and attended Grace United Methodist Church, Muir.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Faust, who died in 1964, her second husband, Bernard "Skip" Rodichok, who died in 1969; and three sisters, Betty Lettich, Anna Sittlinger and Arlene Scheib.
Surviving are three sons, Rick J. Faust of Mechanicsburg, David M. Rodichok of Williamstown, and Thomas C. Rodichok of Orlando, Fla.; three sisters, Lois Miller of Millersburg, and Eleanor Sallada and Phyllis Hedding, both of Valley View; and a grandson, Riely Rodichok of Williamstown.
Memorial services were held Tuesday, April 15, from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Homes Inc., Tower City, with the Rev. Marcia Haller officiating. Interment was held at the convenience of the family in Union cemetery, Gratz.

Mabel E. Miller
Mabel E. Miller, 95, of Stonebridge Health and Rehabilitation Center, Duncannon, formerly of Williamstown, died Sunday, April 6, 2003, at Harrisburg Hospital.
Born in Harrisburg, November 24, 1907, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Hattie Fegley Snyder. She was a graduate of the former Wiconisco High School.
She was retired from the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles P.
Surviving are three sons, Charles S. of Marysville, Richard L. of Shermansdale, and Terry B. of Elizabethtown; and three grandchildren.
Services were held at the convenience of the family from John R. Shultz Funeral Home, Lykens, with the Rev. Marleen Griffith-Stull officiating. Interment was in Fairview cemetery, Wiliamstown. John R. Shultz Funeral Home, Lykens, was in charge of arrangements.
Mary E. Machamer
Mary Elizabeth Machamer, 81, of Upper Allen Township, formerly of Wiconisco, died Sunday, April 13, 2003, at Holy Spirit Hospital.
Born September 22, 1921 in Gratz, she was a daughter of the late Norman and Beulah May Row Lubold.
She retired from the New Cumberland Army Depot; was a member of Shiremanstown Church of God; American Legion and VFW Ladies Auxiliaries, Mechanicsburg; Enola Sportsmen's Club; and Mechanicsburg Senior Adult Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Machamer.
Surviving are her daughter, Anna Shumberger of Mechanicsburg; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Grose of Ashland.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 17, at Malpezzi Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg, with the Rev. Floyd R. Carlen, Jr., her pastor officiating. Burial will be in Rolling Green cemetery. Viewing will be from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
