Harry G.W.D. Wetzel
Harry G.W.D. Wetzel, 88, of Selinsgrove, formerly of Elizabethville, died Thursday, May 22, 2003, in the Sunbury Community Hospital, Sunbury.
Born August 8, 1914 in Chicago, IL, he was a son of the late Dr. Tobias H. Wetzel and Eva A. Dorran Wetzel.
He was a retired Machinist from T.R.W., in Harrisburg; was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, Elizabethville; F&AM; Ashler Lodge No. 570 of Lykens; Charter Member of the Upper Dauphin Lions Club of Elizabethville; Tall Cedars of Lebanon; Zembo Temple Shrine; Upper Dauphin Shrine Club; I.O.O.F. Lodge of Dornsife; and the TRW Pioneers Club of Harrisburg.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva A. Shade Wetzel, who died in 1996.
Surviving are a son, William L. Wetzel of Selinsgrove; two grandsons; and two great-grandsons.
Religious services were held on Tuesday, May 27, at Salem Lutheran Church, Elizabethville, with Rev. John D. Thornbury, D.D. officiating. Interment was in Riverview Memorial Gardens, Halifax.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lions Club of Elizabethville. James A. Reed Funeral Home, Pillow, was in charge of arrangements.

Myrl A. Walters
Myrl A. Walters, 67, of Glen Mills, formerly of Pine Grove, died Wednesday, May 28, 2003.
She was a daughter of the late Ethel and Elmer Walters.
She was a graduate of Pine Grove High School, received her R.N. from Jefferson Hospital and a bachelor's degree in horticulture from Temple University.
Surviving are a companion, H. Suttera.
Cavanagh-Patterson Family Funeral Home, Media, was in charge of arrangements.

Paul E. Swartzlander
Paul E. Swartzlander, age 95, of Lebanon, died Friday, May 23, 2003, at Spangcrest Manor, Lebanon.
Born March 13, 1908, in Sacramento, he was a son of the late Jacob and Sallie Kimmel Swartzlander.
He was a retired coal miner and also retired from the former Murray Shield Construction of Harrisburg. He was a member of VFW Post 3432 Pine Grove; the Ravine Fire Company; and the Rock Fish and Game Club, Rock.
He as preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley V. Swartzlander, who died in 1950; a sister Erma Schade; and three brothers, Ralph, Wayne, and Ray Swartzlander.
Surviving are four sons, Norman L. of Warner Robins, GA, Lester E. of Myrtle Beach, SC, Larry J. of Ocoee, FL, and Paul T. of Bethel; three daughters, Gloria J. Zimmerman of Lebanon, Janice R. Mars of Pine Grove, and Patricia A. Mindy of Tremont; two sisters, Edna Hornberger of Schuylkill Haven, and Florence Moyer of Milton; 20 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Services were held Tuesday, May 27, at Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, with the Rev. Curtis Zemencik officiating. Interment was in St. Andrew's cemetery, Valley View. Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, was in charge of arrangements.

Clarence A. Miller
Clarence "Hutch" A. Miller, 82, of Lykens, died Tuesday, May 27, 2003, at the home of his companion, Hilda G. Klinger, Rumshtown Road, Lykens.
Born April 15, 1921, in Fearnot, he was a son of the late Jacob and Mary Wolfgang Miller.
He was a retired coal miner having been last employed by the Kocher Coal Company, Valley View, retiring in 1977. He attended Hubley Township schools. He was of the Protestant faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline V. Paul Miller, who died June 19, 1997; three sisters, Lillian Miler, Edna Fetter, and Esther Klinger; and five brothers, Levi, Jacob, Melvin, Walter, and James Miller.
Surviving in addition to his companion, are a son, Clarence A., Jr. of Mechanicsburg; a sister, Harriet Wolf of Fearnot; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 30, from the Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, RR 1, Klingerstown, with the Rev. Mark Rothermel officiating. Interment was in Riverview Memorial Gardens, Halifax. Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, RR 1, Klingerstown, was in charge of arrangements.

Carl J. Miller
Carl J. Miller, 95, Halifax, died Thursday, May 22, 2003 at home.
He was born in Jackson Twp., a son of the late Eddie and Annie Hoke Miller.
He retired from Willits Shoe Factory in Halifax. He was a member of Miller's Church, treasurer of the cemetery and also was Sunday School Superintendent at one time.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter and a son, Gerald.
Surviving are his wife of 69 years, Pauline F. Stoneroad Miller; a son, William L. of Ottumwa, Iowa; a daughter, Sandra Hoffman of Halifax; a half-sister, Esther Wright of Millersburg; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter.
Services were held on Monday, June 2, at the Hoover Funeral Home, Elizabethville. Interment was in Miller's Church cemetery, Halifax, RD. Hoover Funeral Home, Elizabethville, was in charge of arrangements.

Jean C. McGraw
Jean C. McGraw, 80, of Tower City, died Sunday, May 25, 2003, at her home.
Born in Williamstown on November 21, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Mark and Bessie Shriener Routzhan.
She was of the Protestant Faith.
She was predeceased by her husband, John J. McGraw.
Surviving are a daughter, Linda M. Kafora of Tower City; two sons, Karl J. Sierer of Lancaster and John E. McGraw of Baltimore, MD; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
Services were private. Interment was in the Methodist cemetery, Williamstown. Memorial donations to Pinnacle Health Hospice, 301 One Norwegian Plaza, Pottsville, 17901.
Dimon Funeral Homes, Inc., Tower City, was in charge of arrangements.

Hilda S. Lucas
Hilda Shadel Lucas, 92, died February 20, 2003, at the home of her son in Kempner, TX.
Born in Kingston, she was raised in Havertown and graduated from Haverford High School. Her principal residence was in Delaware County, but she also had a vacation home on the Little Mountain in Hegins Township.
She was involved with many historical societies throughout Pennsylvania. She organized and led a number of historical excursions for groups from the Hegins Valley. She attended many of the family reunions held throughout the Tri-Valley area, including the Schwalm, Hepler and Lashaw families. She had been active in the Girls Scouts and had served as a Cub Scout Den Mother. She was also active participate of the Marple-Newtown Lions Club. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Havertown.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Walter L., who died in 1991 and her daughter, Susan L. Lucas who died in 2001.
Surviving are a son, Richard of Kempner, TX; a sister, Marion Chapman of Tampa, Florida; and two granddaughters.
A memorial service will be held on June 14 at 10:00 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church at 1411 West Chester Pike, Havertown, PA.
Memorial donations may be sent in her name to the Marple Historical Society, P.O. Box 755, Broomall, PA, 19008.
Arrangements were by Frank C. Videon Funeral Home, Broomall.

Edna M. Lower
Edna M. Lower, 98, of Berrysburg, died Monday, June 2, 2003, at the home of her grandson with whom she lived.
She was a daughter of the late Ulyssis and Amelia Lark Weaver.
She was a lifetime member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Berrysburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph E. Lower.
Surviving are two sons, Arthur D. Lower of Lykens, and Kenneth John Grant Lower of Lenkerville; daughter, Miriam A. Miller of Hegins; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at her church on Thursday, June 5, at 11 a.m. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran cemetery, Berrysburg. Viewing will be at the church on Thursday from 10-11 a.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the Edna M. Lower Memorial Fund, c/o Community Banks, 13 South Market Street, Elizabethville, 17023.
Hoover Funeral Home, Inc., Elizabethville, is in charge of arrangements.

Ada M. Lengel
Ada M. Lengel, 97, formerly of Pine Grove, died Saturday, May 31, 2003 at The Lutheran Home at Topton, where she had been a resident for four years.
Born in Rock, December 28, 1905, she was a daughter of the late Uriah and Katie Miller Rhein.
She worked as a custodian for the Pine Grove Area School District.
She was a lifetime member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Pine Grove.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Paul, who died on December 29, 1964; a son, Larry; two brothers, Harry Rhein and Emmett Rhein; a sister, Minerva Stump.
Surviving are two sons, Quentin of Wilmington, Del., and Reynold of Pine Grove; two daughters, Irene Stump of Orwigsburg, and Lucille Kavanaugh of Sinking Spring; a brother, Merritt Rhein of Country Meadows, Wyomissing; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, from H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, with the Rev. Dr. Richard W. Schoenleber officiating. Interment was in St. Peter's Lutheran cemetery, Pine Grove. H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, is handling arrangements.

Paul A. Kuehn
Paul A. Kuehn, 49, of Tremont Street, Zerbe, died Sunday, June 1, 2003 at home.
Born in Llewellyn, May 29, 1954, he was a son of the late Clarabella Fenstermacher Kuehn Heberling. He was a 1972 graduate of Pine Grove Area High School.
He was employed as a motorcycle repairman for Lebanon Valley Honda.
Surviving are a daughter, Pamela Kuehn of Leesburg, N.J.; four brothers, Elmer Kuehn and Robert Heberling, both of Pine Grove, Joseph Heberling of Fredericksburg, and William Heberling of Indiana; a sister, Gail Heberling of Fredericksburg; and a granddaughter.
H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, is in charge of arrangements.
