Michael A. Bahm
Michael A. Bahm, 32, of Harbeson, Del., formerly of Tremont, died Wednesday, July 23, 2003, in Harbeson.
Born in Pottsville, April 23, 1971, he was a son of Doris Franks Bahm, Lebanon, and the late Joseph J. Bahm Jr. He was a 1988 graduate of Pine Grove Area High School.
He was employed as a bricklayer with Peninsula Masonry.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are a sister, Christine Burrus of Lebanon; paternal grandmother, Helen Wagner Bahm of Pine Grove; a nephew, Christian Burrus; a niece, Olivia Burrus; aunts and uncles.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, from H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove. The Rev. Dr. Richard W. Schoenleber will officiate. Interment will be in St. John's Lutheran cemetery, Tremont. H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, is handling arrangements.

Mary L. Bellis of Tampa, FL, formerly of Millersburg, died Friday, July 25, 2003, in Tampa.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 1, 2003 at Simeon Lutheran Church, Gratz.
Charles V. Buggy
Charles V. Buggy, 78, of Williamstown, died Sunday, July 27, 2003, at the Pottsville Hospital.
Born in Williamstown, September 4, 1924, he was a son of the late Joseph F., Sr., and Myrl M. Whitman Buggy.
He was a World War II Army Veteran, was a retired clerk from Ft. Indiantown Gap, Annville, and was a 1942 graduate of the former Williamstown Catholic High School. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Williamstown, Williamstown American Legion, Williamstown VFW, and the Williamstown Fire Company.
Surviving are two brothers, Joseph F., Jr., and George E., both of Williamstown; three sisters, Loretta M. Williams of Williamstown, Gloria M. Lenker of King of Prussia, and Katherine "Arlene" McDonald of Brooklyn, NY; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, August 1, at 11 a.m., from Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, with Rev. Robert Panza officiating. Interment will be in Parish cemetery. Viewing will be from 10-11 a.m. at the church.

Chelsea Denise Eichert, 6, of Pine Grove, died Wednesday, July 23, 2003, at home.
Born in Pottsville, March 1, 1997, she was a daughter of James D. Eichert and Alicia Raudenbush, Pine Grove.
She attended Salem Hetzel's United Church of Christ, Pine Grove, and was a kindergarten graduate of the Pine Grove Area School District.
Surviving, in addition to her parents, are maternal grandparents, Leonard and Rose Raudenbush of Pine Grove; and paternal grandparents, Claude and Irene Eichert of Tower City; maternal great-grandmother, Frances Raudenbush of Schuylkill Haven; aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 26, from H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, with the Rev. Christine Pifer-Foote officiating. Interment was in Hetzel's cemetery, Pine Grove. H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, was in charge of arrangements.

Ellis H. Keen, 82, of HCR Dalmatia, died Sunday, July 20, at the Mansion Nursing Home, Sunbury.

Louise B. Hancock
Louise B. Hancock, 90, of Messiah Village and formerly of Millersburg, died Tuesday, July 22, 2003, in the village.
She was born in Harrisburg on December 21, 1912.
She was a member of First U.M. Church, Millersburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Hancock.
Surviving are two sisters, Helen Allison of Camp Hill and Ruth Byler of Delray Beach, FL; a brother, Dean Byler of Norman, OK; a niece and a nephew.
Graveside services were held on Friday, July 25, at Oak Hill cemetery, Millersburg.

Thomas W. Maurer, Sr.
Thomas Woodrow Maurer, Sr., 86, of Salford Twp., formerly of Roxborough, died Tuesday, July 22, 2003, at Independence Court, Quakertown, Bucks County.
Born in Ashland, December 17, 1916, he was a son of the late Clarence S. and Cora Lucas Maurer.
He was formerly employed by the Budd Co. as a welder and worked on heavy equipment including airplanes and tanks during wartime, retiring in 1980 after 38 years of service.
He enjoyed raising vegetables and won second place in the Philadelphia Horticultural Garden Club Contest.
He was a member of Epiphany Lutheran Church, Roxborough, where he worked primarily with youth; he served as assistant Scout Master. At Christ Lutheran Church, Oreland, he sang in the choir for eight years, helped with youth, worked with the Monday Morning Men, and was on Hospitality and the 60+ group.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Hannah M. Dietrich Maurer; three sons, Thomas Jr. of Annville, Richard of Telford, and Carl of Roxborough; two brothers, Allen Maurer of Harrisburg, and Robert Maurer of Gratz; a sister, Blanche D'Ziengle of New York; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A Memorial service will be held Friday, August 1, at 11 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, 700 E. Pennsylvania Ave., Oreland. Interment will be private.

She was retired from the former J.E. Morgan Garment Factory, Tower City, was a member of St. Peters United Church of Christ, Orwin and its Ladies Aide.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis J.
Surviving are two sons, Robert L. of Poconos and Richard A., of Tower City; a granddaughter; two step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
Services will be private with Rev. Edward Gobrecht officiating. Interment will be in Schuylkill Memorial Park.

Mary E. Riland, 91, of Millersburg, formerly of Halifax, died Thursday, July 24, 2003, at home.
Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late George and Emma Rutter Sheesley. She was a member of the Zion Stone United Methodist Church, Matamoras, Farm Women Group No. 8, and the Halifax Senior Citizens.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester W. Riland.
Surviving are a brother, Richard Sheesley of Harrisburg; and nieces and nephews.
Services were held on Tuesday, July 29, at her church. Interment was in the church cemetery.

William A. Travitz
William Albert Travitz, 73, of Millersburg, died Friday, July 25, 2003, at Susquehanna Lutheran Village, Millersburg.
Born April 7, 1930 in Lykens, he was a son of the late Harry and Irene Snyder Travitz.
He was President of the 1948 graduating class of the former Lykens High School. He was a retired Polisher from Chromalloy (formerly TRW), Harrisburg, member of Grace United Methodist Church, Millersburg, a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War, member of Millersburg American Legion Post No. 326, and a member of the TRW Pioneers.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Robert Travitz.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy Snyder Travitz; a son, Timothy M. Travitz of Millersburg; a daughter, Darlene Bakermans of Millersburg; a sister, Betty Bowman of Halifax (Matamoras); and four grandchildren.
Religious services will be held at Grace United Methodist Church at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, with Rev. Floyd S. Sollenberger, Jr., officiating. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National cemetery, Annville. Friends are invited to call Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m., at the church.

Albert R. Wetzel
Albert Russell Wetzel, 79, of Hegins, died Wednesday, July 23, 2003, at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, Pottsville.
Born in Hegins, January 26, 1924, he was a son of the late Harry and Matie Klouser Wetzel.
He was a retired coal miner from Mercury Coal, Hegins, and an Army veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Clarence, Allen, Paul, Ralph, and Chester Wetzel; and two sisters, Eva Kessler and Beatrice Huntsinger.
Surviving are two daughters, Dawn Hossler of Minersville, and Margaret Schuettler of Llewellyn; a brother, Oscar Wetzel of Tamaqua; a sister, Ive Fetter of Tamaqua; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 28, at Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, with the Rev. Curtis Zemencik officiating. Interment was at Indiantown Gap National cemetery, Annville.

Winifred G. Williard, 81, of Huntingdon Valley, died Thursday, July 24, 2003, at Holy Redeemer Hospital and Medical Center, Huntingdon Valley.
She was born at Wiconisco and graduated from the former Wiconisco High School.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Williard, and a son, Scott Williard.

Shirley N. Withers
Shirley N. Withers, 73, of Millersburg, died Thursday, July 24, 2003, at the Holy Spirit Hospital.
Born July 28, 1929 in Shenandoah, she was a daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Daniels Northey.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Millersburg and Millersburg and Upper Paxton Twp. Historical Society. She was very active in the fund raising events for the Millersburg Tall Cedars No. 125 and was a Tall Cedar cheerette officer. She was a volunteer at the Susquehanna Lutheran Village for 25 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul C. Withers.
Surviving are a daughter, Kay Minier of Millersburg; a son, Paul Keith of Halifax; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were held on Tuesday, July 29, at Halifax United Methodist Church.

Olin J. Sheetz, 90, of Halifax, died Wednesday, July 16, 2003, at the Friendly Nursing Home, Pitman.
Born July 25, 1912 in Jackson Township, he was a son of the late Edward and Ruth Enders Sheetz.
He was a member of the former Enders United Methodist Church, Halifax. He was a retired crane operator for Bethlehem Steel, Steelton, a retired farmer and an Army Veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harlan and Ivan; a sister, Zema; three step-brothers, Charles, Ralph, and Harvey; and two half-sisters, Rhena and Orpha.
Surviving are his wife, Harriet E. Lentz Sheetz at home; son, James E. Sheetz of Halifax; two daughters, Judy A. Sedesse of Halifax, Carol K. Warfel of Herndon; a sister, Irma Shearer of Lancaster; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
