Edward P. Dworchak
Edward P. Dworchak, 70, of Millersburg, died Thursday, July 31, 2003, at Harrisburg Hospital.

Born in Upper Paxton Twp., he was son of the late Edward and Bertha Geyer Dworchak.

He worked at the Northern Dauphin County YMCA in Elizabethville. He was a Navy Veteran of the Korean War.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy A. Savidge Dworchak; a daughter, Donna D. Boyer of Millersburg; three sisters, Alma Leitzel of Halifax, Gloria Koppenhaver and Anita Erdman, both of Millersburg; and two grandchildren.

There were no services. Hoover Funeral Homes, Inc., Millersburg, was in charge of arrangements.

Richard J. Hardy
Richard J. Hardy, 74, of Pine Grove, died Wednesday, July 30, 2003, at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.

Born in Port Carbon, February 17, 1929, he was a son of the late John J. and Anna Wasatonic Hardy.

He served in the Army as a sergeant in the military police.
He retired from Dana Corp., Parrish Steel division, Reading, as an inspector after 39 years.

He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Tremont.

Surviving are his wife of 52 years, the former Josephine T. Todd; four sons, Richard J. Jr. of California, Michael P. of Robesonia, James J. of Reading, and Jonathan P. of Temple; three daughters, Kathleen A. Hardy and Patricia M. Butler, both of Reading, and Christine M. Quinter of Virginville; a brother, John A. of Harrisburg; a sister, Rose MacAdams of Rush, NY.; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Services were private at the convenience of the family at Our Lady of Calvary Chapel, with the Rev. Michael Ahrensfield officiating. Interment was in St. Patrick's Columbarium, Pottsville. Ebling Funeral Home, Cressona, was in charge of arrangements.

Shirley I. Koppenhaver
Shirley I. Koppenhaver, 71, of Wiconisco, died Wednesday, July 30, 2003, at Kepler Convalescent Home, Elizabethville.

Born in Lykens, December 8, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Edgar and Thelma Morris Dauberman. She was a 1950 graduate of the former Lykens High School.

Surviving are her husband, J. Lloyd Koppenhaver; three sons, Lloyd S. of Dalmatia, William E., and Thomas R., both f Wiconisco; three daughters, Barbara J. Miller of Clinton, NC, Patty S. Koppenhaver of Daytona Beach, FL, and JoAnn Koppenhaver of Lykens; five brothers, Edgar and Glenn Dauberman, both of Wiconisco, Dean Dauberman of Lykens, George Dauberman of Tower City, and John Dauberman of Millersburg; five sisters, Vivian Shartle of Harrisburg, Doris Dauberman of Wiconisco, Sara Miller and Elizabeth Beard, both of Lykens, and Mary Sponic of Goose Creek, SC; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Memorial services were held Monday, August 4, at the John R. Shultz Funeral Home, Lykens, with the Rev. Grace T. Lawrence officiating. Interment was in Indiantown Gap National cemetery, Annville.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central PA, PO Box 266, Enola 17025, or to the Kepler Convalescent Home, 44 South Market St., Elizabethville 17023. John R. Shultz Funeral Home, Lykens.

Dale E. Raudenbush
Dale E. Raudenbush, 75, of Williamstown, died Wednesday, July 30, 2003, in Lehigh Valley Hospital Center, Allentown.

He was a Navy veteran.

He was a former reporter for the Harrisburg Evening News., and a supervisor and roadmaster for Williams Township.

He was a member of Williamstown United Methodist Church, Williamstown American Legion Post 239, Pennsylvania State Sportsman Association, having served as its reporter for 15 years, and an inductee into the Pennsylvania Sportsman Association Hall of Fame.

Surviving are a sister, Beatrice Seiler of Tower City; and a nephew, Jeff Seiler of Tower City.

Graveside services and interment were held Monday, August 4, at Indiantown Gap National cemetery, Annville. Fackler-Wiedeman Funeral Home, Harrisburg, was in charge of arrangements.

Roy E. Romberger
Roy E. Romberger, 83, of Williamstown, died Tuesday, July 29, 2003, at the Sunbury Community Hospital.

Born in Sacramento, on February 13, 1920, he was a son of the late Thomas and Minnie Klinger Romberger.

He was a retried Heavy Equipment Operator from Local Union 542. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Williamstown, social member of the Williamstown American Legion No. 239 and a life member of the Liberty Hose Co. No. 1, Williamstown.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda Wolfe Romberger in 1976 and a son, Robert in 1970.

Surviving are three sons, Larry E. of Wyoming, Terry L. of Williamstown and Ronald T. of Tower City; a brother, Russell of West Chester; two sisters, Mary Lou Kanaval of Sinking Springs, and Marion Santak of Delaware; nine grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 2, from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Homes, Inc., Tower City, with Rev. Marleen Griffith Stull officiating. Interment was in the Fairview cemetery, Williamstown.

Memorial donations may be made to the Liberty Hose Co. No.1, W. Broad Street, Williamstown, PA 17098. Dimon Funeral Homes, Inc., Tower City, was in charge of arrangements.

Edna V. Schlegel
Edna V. Schlegel, 83, of Susquehanna Lutheran Village and formerly of Sacramento, died Wednesday, July 30, 2003, in the village.

Born in Hegins Twp., she was a daughter of the late James and Katie Troup Schwartz.
She and her late husband Irvin, owned the Schlegel's Grocery Store in Sacramento. Edna was a member of Weishample Church of God and former member of the Sacramento Fire Company Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin; a son, Daniel, a brother, Valentine Schwartz, and a sister, Evelyn Neumeister.

Surviving are three daughters, Vera Maurer of Lancaster, Brenda Williamson of Mt. Joy, and Doris Williams of Millersburg; a sister, Twila Green of Ashland; 11 grandchildren; a step-granddaughter; six great-grandchildren and a step-great-granddaughter.

Services were held on Friday, August 1, at the Weishample Church of God. Interment was in Valley View Church of God cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to her church, c/o Willard Becker, 717 W. Main Street, Valley View, 17983. Hoover Funeral Homes, Millersburg, was in charge of arrangements.

Robert J. Seip
Robert J. Seip, 74, of Williamstown, died Thursday, July 31, 2003, at Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey.

Born in Wiconisco, April 19, 1929, he was a son of the late Edward and Anna Clouser Seip.

He was a Marine Corps veteran.

He was retired from Fort Indiantown Gap, Annville, and had been the Williamstown borough chief of police for 12 years.

He was a member of Williamstown United Methodist Church, American Legion Post 239 and Liberty Hose Company No. 1, all of Williamstown.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Elwood.

Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Elaine M. Seip; a daughter, Deborah K. Venesevich of Annville; two sons, Robert A. of Palmyra, and Gary E. of Harrisburg; and grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, August 4, from Dimon Funeral Homes Inc., Williamstown, with the Rev. Elizabeth Whitehead officiating. Interment with full military honors was in Fairview cemetery, Williamstown. Dimon Funeral Homes Inc., Williamstown, was in charge of arrangements.

Betty L. Wagner
Betty L. Wagner, 79, of Muir, died Sunday, August 3, 2003, at the home of her son in Orwin.

Born in Muir, December 24, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Annie Hand Wolfgang.

She was a retired seamstress from the garment industry. She attended the Grace E.C. Church, Muir.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. who died in 1997; two sons, Robert C., who died in 1944, and Rodney R. Sr., who died in 2002.

Surviving are a son, Ricky L., Sr. and his wife, Janet, of Orwin; a daughter-in-law, Avalon Cortez Wagner of Muir; two sisters, Helen Herb of Tower City, and Dora Evans of Bethlehem; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 9, at 11 a.m. from the chapel of the Dimon Funeral Homes, Inc., Tower City. Interment will be in Fairview cemetery, Muir. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. at the chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 16 N. 4th St., Minnersville, 17954, or to Pinnacle Health Hospice, 3705 Elmwood Dr., Harrisburg, 17110. Dimon Funeral Homes, Inc., Tower City, is handling arrangements.

Howard W. and June R. Warfel
Howard Wayne Warfel, 69, and his wife, June R. Warfel, 71, of Williamstown, both died unexpectedly at the Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill after being stricken ill Thursday. Howard died Saturday, August 2, 2003, and June died Sunday, August 3.

Howard was born in Williamstown, January 9, 1935. He was a son of the late Howard and Beatrice Davis Warfel.

June was born in Williamstown, June 2, 1932. She was a daughter of the late Harry and Helen Moyer.

Howard was a retired nursing aide at Lebanon VA Medical Center. June was a homemaker.

They were both graduates of the former Williamstown High School.

Howard was of the Protestant faith; a Korean War veteran; and a member of the Williamstown American Legion No. 239.

June was a member of the Williamstown United Methodist Church.

They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on August 22.

Surviving are five sons, Wayne L., Terry L., Craig R., all of Williamstown, Kevin L. of Lykens, and Scott R. of Tower City; six daughters, Wendie L. Wierman of Camp Hill, Winnie L. White of Dauphin, Beth L. Warfel and Bunne J. Warfel, both of Williamstown, Joyce M. Drebot of Wiconisco, and Lynne M. Warfel of Lykens; Howard's sister, Luzetta Stair of Bethlehem; June's brother, Kenneth Moyer of Williamstown; 13 grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and two step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 8, at 11 a.m. from the Williamstown United Methodist Church. Interment with full military honors will be at Ft. Indiantown Gap National cemetery, Annville. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. at the church.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 1019 Mumma Rd., Wormleysburg, 17043, or the American Diabetes Association 2040 Linglestown Rd., Harrisburg 17110, or the Salvation Army, 1122 Green St., Harrisburg, 17112. Dimon Funeral Homes, Inc., Williamstown, is handling arrangements.

Lee J. Warfield
Lee J. 'Sully' Warfield, 88, formerly of Reinerton, died Saturday, August 2, 2003, at Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center, Tremont.

Born in Williamstown, December 14, 1914, he was a son of the late Ernie and Mabel Williard Warfield.

He was a 1932 graduate of the former Porter Township High School. He was a lifelong resident of Reinerton where he owned and operated an Esso/Exon station for more than 40 years. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Tower City; a former member and officer of the Tower-Porter Rotary Club, and a Paul Harris Fellow. He was known for supporting and encouraging the young people of the community.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, Kenneth; a brother, Clifford; and a sister, Kathleen Shingledecker.

Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Catherine Schwalm Warfield; three daughters, Nancy Thompson of Reinerton, Carol Tallman of Tower City, and Ellen Batkos of Williamstown; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday, August 6, at 7 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church, Tower City, with the Rev. Paul Baughman officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family at Fairview cemetery, Williamstown.

Memorial donations may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, Youth Ministry, 400 E. grand Ave., Tower City, 17980. Dimon Funeral Homes, Inc., Tower City, is in charge of arrangements.

Stanley J. Williard
Stanley John Williard, 72, of Clarksville, Tenn. died Sunday, July 20, 2003, at Gateway Medical Center.

Born April 20, 1931, in Gratz, he was a son of the late Perry and Carrie Starr Williard.

He was retired from the U.S. Army and the civil service. He was a member of the 11th Airborne Association, the 101st Association, American Legion and Disabled Veterans Association and a member of New Providence United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Obera McPeake Williard of Clarksville, TN; a son, Steve Williard of Goodlettsville, TN.; a half-brother, William D. Koppenhaver of Gratz; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 22, at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with the Revs. Steve Angus and Andrew Stowell officiating. Interment was in Resthaven Memorial Gardens with full military honors.
