Ruby V. Snyder
Ruby V. Snyder, 82, of Ashland, died Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2005, at Friendly Nursing Home, Pitman.
Born in Hegins, Nov. 19, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Virginia Stutzman Willier.
She was a member of Christ United Lutheran Church, Ashland, where she was a member of the church choir for many years. She graduated from Hegins Township High School in 1941.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Snyder, in 1992; and two brothers, Albert and Thomas Willier.
Surviving are two sons, Robert L. Snyder of Ashland, and Jerry Snyder of Charlotte, NC; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Religious services were held Saturday, Aug. 13, in Christ United Lutheran Church, Ashland, with the Rev. Robert F. Hoenich officiating. Interment was in Citizens cemetery, Lavelle. Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland, was in charge of arrangements.
Alice M. Troutman
Alice M. Troutman, 82, of Tower City, died Saturday, Aug. 20, 2005, at The Manor at Susquehanna Village, Millersburg.
Born in Cocolamus, Feb. 24, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Oliver and Nora Ehrenzeller Brown.
She was a retired seamstress from the former Bestok Garment Factory, Tower City.
She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church.
She was predeceased by her son, Vernon, in 2004; three brothers Perry, Paul and John Brown; a sister, Mae Brandt.
Surviving are her husband, Ralph L., to whom she was married
62 years; two daughters, Joan Dinger of Hummelstown, and Beverly Lenker of Tower City; two grandsons; and two great-granddaughters.
Services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 24, at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of Dimon Funeral Homes Inc., Tower City, with Rev. Paul Baughman officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood cemetery. Viewing will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel. Dimon Funeral Homes Inc., Tower City, is in charge of arrangements.
Edith R. Burrows
Edith R. Burrows, 84, of Millersburg and a resident at Susquehanna Lutheran Village, died Saturday, April 2, 2003, at the village.
Born in Elizabethville, June 17, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Issac J. and Carrie Hassinger Reisch.
She was a retired factory worker at the former Kinney Shoe Co, . in Millersburg, and was a member of Hebron U.M. Church in Millersburg.
She was preceded in death by a sisters, Gertrude Brightbill, Sarah Troutman, and Anna Lentz; and brothers, Paul Reisch and Ernest Reisch.
Surviving are two daughters, Nancy A. Schreffler of Millersburg and Sandra K. Bowman of Halifax; a sister, Mary Radel of Dauphin; two brothers, Issac Reisch of Hummelstown and Robert R. Reisch of Amissville, VA; four grandchildren; and eight great- grandchildren.
Services will be held at Hebron United Methodist Church on Friday, April 8, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Alison Grove officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill cemetery in Millersburg. Viewing will be from 10-11 a.m. Friday at the church.

Marlin L. Donofrio
Marlin Lee Donofrio, 67, of Pine Grove, died Monday, March 28, 2003, at home.
Born in Pine Grove Township, June 26, 1937, he was a son of the late Nick and Beatrice Hoy Donofrio.
He was a self-employed owner/operator of Buddy's RV and Sport shop, Tremont Road, Pine Grove.
He was preceded in death were a brother, Donald M. "Buddy"; two sisters, Jeannette Savidge and Connie Houck.
Surviving are his wife, the former Betty VanDuzer; two sons, Richard L. of North Carolina, and Larry of Pine Grove; a daughter, Lois Pate of North Carolina; two sisters, Shirley Ashman of Columbia, N.J., and Nancy Rhen of Pine Grove; and six grandchildren.

Nevin E. Dougherty
Nevin E. Dougherty, 77, formerly of Elizabethville, died Friday, March 25, 2003, in Dayton, Ohio, VA Hospital.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Annabe Doughtery, two sons, Nevin Jr. of Harsham and Gary of Halifax; a daughter, Debra of Westerville, OH; a brother Herb Dougherty of Acworth, GA; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial services and burial took place at Indiantown Gap National cemetery.

Itha H. Ferree
Itha H. Ferree, 95, formerly of Lykens, died Sunday, March 27, 2003, at the Jewish Home of Greater Harrisburg.
She was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Catherine Mumma Ferree. She was a 1927 graduate of the former Lykens High School; a graduate of Beckly College, Harrisburg; and the George Washington University, Washington, DC. She retired after 35 years of service with the US Department of Agriculture, Washington, DC, and 12 years of service with the Pennsylvania Department of Education, Harrisburg.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Myrtle, Hannah, and Martha; and by three brothers, Jacob, Benjamin, and Clarence.
Surviving are nieces; nephews; great-nieces; and great-nephews.
Graveside services were held Friday, April 1, at Calvary United Methodist Church, Wiconisco, with the Rev. Keith J. Schmuck officiating.

Margaret M. Ney
Margaret M. Ney, 91, of Tower City, died Sunday, April 3, 2003, at Heart of Lancaster Regional Medical Center, Lititz.
Born in Lykens, Aug. 20, 1913, she was a daughter of the late Claude and Bertha L. Wise Cooper.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Tower City, and White Shrine, Galilian Chapter 34, Pottsville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James J. "Pinky, " in 1996.
Surviving are a daughter, Betty J. Minnich of Manheim; two sons, James R. of Lansdale, and Thomas G. of Manahawkin, N.J.; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 6, from the Chapel of Dimon Funeral Home Inc., Tower City. The Rev. Linda L. Bonfiglio will officiate. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of services, with a White Shrine service at 10:45 a.m. Interment will be in Greenwood cemetery, RD Tower City.

Jennie E. Schaffer
Jennie E. Schaffer, 90, a resident at Susquehanna Lutheran Village, died Tuesday, March 29, 2003, at the village.
Born in Dalmatia, May 28, 1914, she was a daughter of the late Elias and Laura Lauden-Slayer Phillips.
She was a graduate of the former Lock Haven State Teachers College; was employed as a elementary teacher at the former Dalmatia and Wernersville schools.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Wilkes-Barre.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Clarence R. Schaffer, who was pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church in Wilkes-Barre from 1965-1983; Christ Lutheran Church in Hellertown from 1952-1965; and Trinity Lutheran from 1941-1952. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Ray, Roy, Ben, and Lee; and three sisters, Martha, Clara and Sara.
Surviving are two sons Richard L. of Belmont, MA, Luther C. of Poway, CA; a granddaughter, Sandy Tracy of Temple, AZ; and three great-grandsons, Harrison and Tyler Tracy.
Services were held Saturday, April 2, at Stone Valley U.C.C., Dalmatia, with Rev. Charles Oldland III officiating. Interment was in Stone Valley cemetery.

Pauline G. Smeltz
Pauline G. Smeltz, 91, of RR 1, Dornsife, died Sunday, April 3, 2003, at the Sunbury Community Hospital.
Born in Dornsife, Nov. 30, 1913, she was a daughter of the late Richard and Lena Snyder Kobel.
She was educated in the Dornsife area schools. She was a member of Himmel's United Church of Christ, Rebuck, where she had been a former member of the Women of the Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond W. Smeltz, who died Sept. 23, 1985; a granddaughter, Jacqueline Erdman in 1963; and three sisters, Dorothy Kobel, Mae Fetter, and Lena Derrick; and a brother, Bobby Kobel.
Surviving are three daughters, Dorothy Erdman of RR 1, Dornsife, Joan Bobb of Etters, and Carol Dreibelbis of RR 1, Dornsife; a son, David Smeltz of Elizabethville; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 6, at 11 a.m. from Himmel's Church, Rebuck, with the Rev. Frederick Faust officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 10 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be in Himmel's cemetery, Rebuck.

Ethel Reeser-Smith
Ethel Harriet Reeser-Smith, 87, of Friendly Nursing Home, Pitman, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2003, at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.
Born in New Ringgold, May 24, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Oscar and Jennie Knapp Gerber. She was a 1935 graduate of Tamaqua High School, and received her teaching degree from Kutztown University.
She worked as a school teacher and sewer in the textile industry.
She was a member of Zion's Stone Church, Snyders.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Russell R. Reeser and Roy C. Smith; two sons, Robert Reeser and Larry R. Reeser; two brothers, Russell and Richard Gerber; two sisters, Dorothy Gerber and Ruth Romanchik; a granddaughter, Lori Reeser.
Surviving are a son, Mark E. Reeser of Baltimore; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Saturday, April 2, at Zion's Stone Church cemetery, Snyders, with the Rev. Michael A. Frost officiating. Interment was in Zion's Stone Church cemetery. Robert S. Nester Funeral Home Inc., Snyders, was in charge of arrangements.
Pauline M. Dinger
Pauline M. Dinger, 87, formerly of Donaldson, died Saturday, March 5, 2005, at Sanatoga Manor, Pottstown.
Born in Donaldson, April 25, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Kathryn Koppenhaver Morgan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy G., in 1995; eight brothers and sisters.
Surviving are a daughter, Shirley Overholtzer of Pottstown; a son, Donald of Royersford; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
