Robert F. Lofgren, D.M.D.
Washington

Robert F. Lofgren, D.M.D., 57, of Washington Township, formerly of Murrysville, died Sunday, Aug. 6, 2000, in UPMC Shadyside hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born June 25, 1943, in Braddock, a son of the late Ernest T. and Wilhelmina Morschat Lofgren. He was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, board certified by the American Board of Oral Surgery and had been an oral and maxillofacial surgeon in Penn Hills and Murrysville since 1970. He is survived by his wife, Claudia Timok Lofgren; three sons , Robert Eric Lofgren of Shadyside, Russell James Lofgren of Washington , D.C., and Randall Scott Lofgren of Washington Township; and a brother, Ernest V. Lofgren of Fairfax Station, Va. Visitation Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the JOHN T. HART FUNERAL HOME, Murrysville. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Irwin, with Monsignor John L. Conway as celebrant.

Helen M. Mahoney
Mars

Helen M. Mahoney, 84, died Saturday, August 5, 2000, in UPMC Passavant, McCandless. Born April 15, 1916, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Myrtle Martin Gibson. Mrs. Mahoney was a homemaker and former member of Mars United Presbyterian Church. Survivors include a son, William J. Mahoney of Mars; a brother, Martin Gibson of Butler; a granddaughter; and two great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph W. Mahoney, and a sister, Goldie McAlpine. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday in McDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars. Burial will be in Mars Cemetery, Adams Township. Memorial contributions can be made to the Mars Public Library.

George B. Morosini

George B. Morosini, of Jeannette, on Saturday, Aug. 5, 2000. Beloved husband of Mary Ann (Tomko) Morosini. Father of George Morosini II of Jeannette. Brother of Jack of Irwin, Mildred Sperlak of Denver, Colo., Joseph of Delmont, Eugene of Las Vegas, Nev., Donald of Delmont and Delma Novacek of York. Friends will be received at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME INC., 3501 Main St., Munhall, Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home.

Antoinette Peternell Mozina died Friday August 4, 2000. Wife of the late Frank V. Mozina for 68 years. Dear mother of Grace Cardinal of Plum and Frank Mozina Jr. of Bedford, Texas . Survivors include six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces. Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the GENE VAN HORN FUNERAL HOME, Beatty Road and Route 48 North, Monroeville. Mass of Christian Burial will at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Plum.

Gust Nassis
East Pittsburgh

Gust Nassis, 63, of East Pittsburgh, died Friday, Aug. 4, 2000. He was a son of the late Elias and Alexandra (Panopoulos) Nassis. Beloved brother of Agnes Vesly, Cleo Ziegler, Olga Nassis, James Nassis and the late Peter Nassis. Also numerous nieces and nephews. Friends received Sunday and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the ALFIERI FUNERAL HOME INC., 201 Marguerite Ave., Wilmerding, where a blessing service will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m.

Jacquellyn A. Paschel
Shaler

Jacquellyn A. Paschel, 72, died Sunday, August 6, 2000, in UPMC St. Margaret, Pittsburgh. Born Nov. 15, 1927, in Sharpsburg, she was the daughter of the late John and Sophia Bohr. Mrs. Paschel was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, O'Hara, the St. Joseph Senior Citizens Group, and the O'Hara AARP. Survivors include her husband, Richard J. Paschel Sr.; a daughter, Jacquellyn A. Tarasi; three sons , Richard J. Paschel Jr., Leonard M. Paschel, Michael E. Paschel; and six grandchildren. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in WORRELL FUNERAL HOME, Main and Ninth Streets, Sharpsburg. Christian Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph Cemetery, O'Hara. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, O'Hara.

Helen F. Ravis
Youngstown, Pa.

Helen F. Ravis, 71, of Youngstown, Pa., died Saturday, Aug. 5, 2000, in the Edgewood Nursing Center, Youngstown. She was born May 8, 1929, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late John A. Sr. and Helen A. Hvizdos Borza. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Youngstown. She was a retired employee at the dental office of Dr. Richard Hanson and Dr. Edward Torba in Latrobe. She was also a founding member of the local chapter of the St. Vincent dePaul Society. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George B. Ravis; and a sister, Margaret E. Halula. She is survived by four sons , Ronald Ravis and his wife, Diane, of Latrobe, Richard Ravis and his wife, Nancy, of Latrobe, Robert Ravis of Alexandria, Va., and Randal Ravis and his wife, Tina, of Youngstown, Pa.; a daughter, Regina Ravis of Albuquerque, N.M.; two brothers , John E. Borza Jr. of Latrobe and James M. Borza of Youngstown, Pa.; and five grandchildren, Jessica, Ryan, Emma, Roland and Raquel. Friends will be received at the JOHN J. LOPATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 601 Weldon St., Latrobe, Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, Youngstown, Pa., with the Rev. Chad Ficorilli, O.S.B., as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Vincent Cemetery, Unity Township. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Bruno Ferrari Family Cancer Center, c/o Latrobe Area Hospital, West Second Avenue, Latrobe, PA 15650.

Marilyn J. Shearer
Connellsville (Dunbar Township)

Marilyn J. Shearer, 54, of Connellsville (Dunbar Township), passed away early Sunday morning, Aug. 6, 2000, at her home. She was born Dec. 8, 1945, in Connellsville, a daughter of the late Randall W. and Gertrude E. Swindell Shearer. Marilyn was a lifelong resident of Connellsville and was a graduate of the former Dunbar Township High school with the class of 1963. Marilyn started work as a secretary for the former Dunbar Township School District and truly loved her job. She was a fixture at what is now Connellsville Jr. High West in the Connellsville Area School District for the past 37 years. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Connellsville. Marilyn was an avid supporter of the Dunbar Township Historical Society and was a faithful contributor to the Fayette County SPCA because of her love for animals. Marilyn is survived by her loving sisters , Linda R. Shearer of Connellsville, Nelda R. Osterwise and her husband, Samuel, also of Connellsville, Kathy A. Ulery and her husband, Clifford, of Mt. Pleasant; her niece, Virginia Homonai and her husband, Dr. Robert Homonai, of Mt. Pleasant; two nephews, Kenneth R. Brooks of Connellsville and Samuel Osterwise Jr. and his wife, Marjorie, of Dawson; and her two great-nieces, Trudie and Tricia Homonai. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Randall G. Shearer; and her stepmother, Doris McWilliams Shearer. Friends and family will be received in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 E. Green St., Connellsville, Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Larry R. Hellein officiating. A committal service and interment will follow in the Indian Creek Baptist Cemetery, Mill Run.

Carol Johnston Thompson

On Thursday, August 3, 2000, Carol Johnston Thompson, beloved wife of Robert L. Thompson, mother of Kenneth Roberts Thompson, Jean Darrah Thompson Bird and Nancy Elizabeth Thompson Silverman. Sister of Murray V. and William R. Johnston. Grandmother of Darrah R. Bird, Evan Skye Thompson, Emilie C. Bird and Kelly A. Silverman. Interment private. Memorial service will be held at Waverly Presbyterian Church, South Braddock Avenue, on Saturday, August 12, 2000 at 3:00 p.m. Family suggests contributions to the music program at Waverly Presbyterian Church. Family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service. Arrangements by McCABE BROS. INC.

Margaret A. Werner
North Side

Margaret A. Werner, 83, died Saturday, August 5, 2000, in St. John's Lutheran Care Center, Mars. Born Dec. 14, 1906, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Mathilda Brant Werner. Miss Werner was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary since 1939. She served in every major office in the Allegheny County Council, including president in 1953. Miss Werner was recently recognized for her devotion to veterans at a Margaret Werner Day at the Aspinwall VA Medical Center. She accumulated over 18,000 volunteer hours at the center. Survivors include a sister, Edith Spencer of Spring Hill, Fla.; a niece and four nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Eleanor Werner, and three brothers , Edward Werner, Richard Werner, and William Werner. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in SCHELLHAAS FUNERAL HOME, 388 Center Ave., West View. Christian Funeral Mass will be at noon Tuesday in St. Boniface Worship Site, Holy Wisdom Parish. Burial will be in North Side Catholic Cemetery.

Wilkus R. Wingrove
Derry

Wilkus R. Wingrove, 76, of Derry, died Saturday, Aug. 5, 2000, at his home. He was born Aug. 19, 1923, in Iron Bridge, a son of the late Harry E. and Ruth Leonard Wingrove. Prior to retirement, he had been an employee of Latrobe Foundry for 43 years. A POW for 15 months, he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Derry Presbyterian Church, AMVETS Post 88 and VFW Post 33 of Greensburg, and the Greek Club of Snydertown. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alice M. Hutchison Wingrove, in 1990; and a brother, Samuel E. Wingrove. Wilkus is survived by two daughters , Mrs. James (Judy) Skoloda and Mrs. Lawrence (Nancy) Woitkowiak, both of Latrobe; four granddaughters, Michele Cowan, Lori Bridge, Jamie Skoloda and Jennifer Woitkowiak; two grandsons, Larry Woitkowiak and Brian Skoloda; three great-grandchildren, Christopher and Caitlin Bridge and Hannah Woitkowiak; a sister, Geraldine Dillon of Sheridan, Ore.; and a special friend, Betty Furr of Greensburg. The family will receive friends Monday from 4 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the MICHAEL J. QUINLISK FUNERAL HOME INC., 548 N. Chestnut St., Derry, where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. F. Neal Galley officiating. Interment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
