Chris K. Moyer
Chris K. Moyer, 42, of Pine Grove, died Sunday, August 31, 2003, of multiple injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on Route 645 in Lebanon County, about a mile from the Berks County line.
Born in West Reading, he was a son of Leon H. Moyer, Myerstown, and Betty R. Moyer Kull, Shillington.
He was the owner-operator of C.M. Pallets Co., Pine Grove.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his wife, the former Joyce A. Seidel, Reading; a brother, Rodney, Shillington; two sisters, Charlotte King, Shillington, and Lorie Snyder, Temple; a stepbrother, Walter Kull III, Shillington; two stepsisters, Audrey Shatswell and Anna Kull, both of Nashville, Tenn.; a companion, Michelle Minnich, with whom he resided; his stepfather, Walter Kull, Shillington.
Graveside services were held Friday, September 5, in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, was in charge of arrangements.
Clarence L. Rehrer
Clarence L. "Corney" Rehrer, 87, of Suedberg Road, Pine Grove, died Thursday, September 4, 2003, at Pottsville Hospital.
Born in Pine Grove Township, January 9, 1916, he was a son of the late Hezekiah and Emma Zimmerman Rehrer. He was a 1933 graduate of Pine Grove High School.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving as a sergeant with the 247th AAF Base Unit. He served in Tunisia, where he was wounded in action, Algeria and French Morocco. He received the European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal with two Bronze Stars, a Purple Heart, three Overseas Service Bars, one Service Stripe and the Good Conduct Medal, 13th Armored Regiment.
He was retired from Bethlehem Steel Corp., where he had worked as a laborer in the shipping department.
He was a member of Jacob's Lutheran Church, Pine Grove, and Pine Grove Senior Citizens.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Mary Darkes, who died on April 30, 1993; five brothers, John, Isaac, Paul, Clayton and Harvey; a sister, Catherine Umbenhauer.
Surviving are a brother, Harold S. of Pine Grove; nieces and nephews; and a companion, Anna Sattizahn.
Funeral services were held Monday, September 8, from H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove. The Rev. Robert Kehrli will officiate. Interment will be in Jacob's cemetery, Pine Grove Township. H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, was in charge of arrangements.
Mark M. Schwalm
Mark M. Schwalm, 85, of Lykens, died Friday, September 5, 2003, at home.
Born in Valley View, December 5, 1917, he was a son of the late Gurney and Mary Shadle Schwalm.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
He was a retired employee of Don's Food Rite, Lykens, and the former Cooper's Bakery.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2385, Gratz.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Wilson; two sisters, Emma Stokes and Mary Runkle.
Surviving are his wife, the former Adele I. Dreibelbis; a step-son, Robert M. Shaffer of Idaho; a step-daughter, Judith A. Shaffer Buffington of Lykens; two brothers, George and Frank, both of Valley View; a sister, Catherine Warfield of Tower City; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 11, from John R. Shultz Funeral Home, Lykens. The Rev. Edward T. D'Agostino will officiate. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National cemetery, Annville.

Tami Rae Snyder
Tami Rae Snyder, 38, of Elizabethville, formerly of Wiconisco, died Tuesday, September 2, 2003, as a result of injuries suffered in an automobile accident in Washington Twp., Dauphin County.
She was employed by M.I. Home Products, Inc., Gratz and a graduate of Williams Valley High School.
She was a devoted mother to her surviving daughter, Dakyia B. Snyder at home. Also surviving are her boyfriend, Scott J. Lepore of Halifax; her parents, Robert E. and Anna L. Lenker of Wiconisco; two brothers, Michael R. Lenker of Williamstown and Jason A. Lenker of Wiconisco.
Funeral services were held Saturday, September 6, at the John R. Shultz Funeral Home, Lykens, with the Rev. Frank F. Egresites officiating. Interment was in Calvary United Methodist cemetery, Wiconisco.
Miriam J. Black
Miriam J. Black, 74, of the Kepler Home, Elizabethville, died Tuesday, August 26, 2003, in Community General Ostepathic Hospital.
Graveside services were held on Tuesday September 2, at Indiantown Gap National cemetery. Hoover Funeral Home, Millersburg was in charge of arrangements.
Elsie M. Jones
Elsie M. "Maude" Jones, 89, formerly of Harrisburg, died Thursday, August 28, in Susquehanna Lutheran Village, Millersburg.
She was a former cook for the Lawnton American Legion Post 998 and a member of its Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her hsuband, John L. Jones.
Surviving are a daughter, Dorene Coles of Millersburg; and a step-sister, Betty Jane Nauss of Elizabethtown.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 30, at the Neill Funeral Home, Harrisburg. Interment was in the Paxtang cemetery.

Robert W. Miller
Robert W. "Red, Pop" Miller, 71, of Pine Grove, died Thursday, August 28, 2003, at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon.
Born in Lebanon County, May 17, 1932, he was a son of the late John and Ruth Williams Miller.
He had been employed as a steel mill supervisor for Quaker Alloy for 30 years until 1976 at which time he went to work for the Lebanon Daily News.
He was a member of Pine Grove Fish & Game Association.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and John David; and a sister, Gladys Miller.
Surviving are a daughter, Sharon A. Kirk of Jonestown; three sons, Robert W. Jr. of Pine Grove, Scott W. of Palmyra, and Keith A. of Carlisle; a step-son, Jason Hummel of Florida; three sisters, Dorothy Houser of Palmyra, Sarah Shutt of Fredericksburg, and Betty Oberdick of Freeport Mills, Lebanon; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held Tuesday, September 2, from the H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, with the Rev. Marvin Keller officiating. Interment was in Greenwood cemetery, Ebeneezer.

Edward L. Osman
Edward L. Osman, 64, of Millersburg, died Wednesday, August 27, 2003, at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
Born in Tower City, he was a son of the late Edward and Vera Ulsh Osman.
He was a cook at the Wooden Nickel restaurant for 30 years. He was a member of Reigles Bible Fellowship in Millersburg.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Tom and Dean Osman.
Surviving are his wife, Carrie A. Walborn Osman; a daughter, Tina Shell of Elizabethville; a step-son, David L. Hoover of Carlisle; a brother, Nevin Osman of Campbelltown; a sister, Arlene Schaffer of Tower City; and three grandchildren.
Services were held on Tuesday, September 2, at Reigles Bible Fellowship. Internment was in the church cemetery.

Harry J. "Pete" Reedy, 79, of Friendly Nursing Home, Pitman, formerly of Schuylkill Haven, died Wednesday, August 27, 2003, at the nursing home.
Born in East Norwegian Township, October 20, 1923, he was a son of the late Henry and Stella Schwartz Reedy.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
He retired from Lynn Ladder Co., Orwigsburg, where he was a maintenance man.
He was of the Protestant faith. He was a member of VFW Post, Auburn, and Landingville Fire Company.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Blanche Rhody.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Norma Shomper Reedy; a daughter, Sharon Leymeister of Auburn; a sister, Dorothy Fuller of Birdsboro; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Services were held Saturday, August 30, from Ebling Funeral Home, Cressona, with the Rev. Howard Souder officiating. Interment was in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
Arlene M. Ressler
Arlene M. Ressler, 59, died Friday, August 29, 2003, at Harrisburg Hospital.
She was employed by P&B; Video Center, Lykens.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry A. and H. Georgina Cook Rickert, Sr., her husband, Douglas K. Ressler, Sr., and a great-grandson.
Surviving are two sons, Douglas K., Jr., of New Cumberland, and Michael R. of Wiconisco; two daughters, Charlene M. Zerby of Lykens, and Annette Y. Shutt of Wiconisco; two brothers, Robert R. Rickert and Harry A. Rickert, Jr., both of Lykens; three sisters, Yvonne E. Schreffler and Patricia A. Rickert, both of Elizabethville, and Kathy L. Atwood of Laconia, New Hampshire; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, September 3, at 11 a.m. at Calvary United Methodist Church, Pottsville, with the Rev. Ann B. Overmiller officiating. Interment will be in Calvary United Methodist cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

Robert A. Schrope, 77, of Tower City, died Tuesday, August 26, 2003, at home.
Born in Hegins, June 28, 1926, he was a son of the late Guy and Beatrice Huntzinger Schrope. He was a World War II Army Air Force veteran.
He was a retired plumber from J.H. Deiter & Sons, Tower City. He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Tower City.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Grace I. Stutzman Schrope; a daughter, Loran J. Smyk of Hegins; two sons, Robert G. of Wiconisco, and Barry L. of Duncannon; four grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.

Celica B. Schwalm
Celica B. "Cease" Schwalm, 89, of Williamstown, died Wednesday, August 27, 2003, at Tremont Health and Rehab Center.
She was a retired seamstress, and a member of the Williamstown United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward C. Schwalm.
Surviving are two sons, Donald E. Schwalm of Williamstown, and Larry G. Schwalm Coopersburg; a sister, JoAnn Albrite of Hershey; a brother, Harvey Pennell of Levittown; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were held on Saturday, August 30, from Williamstown United Methodist Church, East Street, Williamstown, with the Rev. Elizabeth Whitehead officiating.
