Henry F. Koenig
Henry F. Koenig, 73, of Pine Grove, died Sunday, September 28, 2003, at home.
Born in Reedsville, May 13, 1930, he was a son of the late Ralph E. and Margaret Reed Koenig. He was a 1949 graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School, A&E; School at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas, and Instrument School at Chanute Air Force Base, Illinois. He also attended the Television Repair School in Baltimore, Md.
He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War, having served as a chief instrument specialist with the 83rd Air Transport Squadron. He received the National Defense Service Medal.
He had been employed as an electronic repairman at Indiantown Gap Military Reservation, Annville.
He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Pine Grove, where he previously served as a Sunday school teacher, Sunday school superintendent, secretary of the church council, liturgist and a senior choir member. He was a member of the Pine Grove American Legion Post 374, and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans.
He was past president of the Pine Grove High School Band Boosters and past member of the Singing Cedars of Lebanon Barbershoppers.
He was preceded in death by a son, Reed, who died on December 26, 2000; a sister, Marian Rudloff.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, the former Shirley A. Merkey; two daughters, Kathy Sipe of Harrisburg, and Kim Schroeder of Barnesville; two sisters, Martha Koenig of Schuylkill Haven, and Margaret Miller of Orwigsburg.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 2, from H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, with the Rev. Dr. Richard Schoenleber officiating. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National cemetery, Annville. H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, is handling arrangements.
Patricia A. Michaels
Patricia A. Michaels, 58, of Hazelton, died Friday, September 26, 2003, at the Hershey Medical Center, Hershey.
Born in Harrisburg, October 24, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Beulah Bair Campbell.
She worked as a housekeeper at various resorts in the Pocono’s and as a care giver for the elderly.
She was a member of the Faith Assembly of God Church where she was active in the Silver Liners and the Women’s Fellowship Group. She also was active in volunteer work and housekeeping for the church and performed volunteer work for the Jesus is Victory Ministry.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Catherine, Yvonne, and Marion; three brothers, Fred, Glenn, and Earl; and a grandson, Tony.
Surviving are her husband of 38 years, Clair N. Michaels, Sr.; four sons, Kenneth of Mt. Joy, Clair Jr., of Nanticoke, Gerald and Leroy, both of Hazelton; two daughters, Tina DeFuso of Williamstown, and Lucinda Vogel of Freeland; two sisters, Jean Shultz and Dorothy Wertz, both of Halifax; a brother, Raymond Campbell of Halifax; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 2, at 1 p.m. from the Faith Assembly of God Church, Rt. 93 and Fox Manor Rd., West Hazelton, with the Rev. Wayde Wilson officiating. Friends may call at the church Thursday, from 12 p.m. until time of service.

Dennis E. Schmink
Dennis E. Schmink, 59, of Mechanicsburg, died Saturday, September 27, 2003, at home.
Born in Halifax, he was a son of Elmer Schmink who survives him of Mechanicsburg and the late Pauline Hoy Schmink.
He was a truck driver for Feeser's foods and a member of I.B.E.W. Local union. He attended Shiremanstown United Methodist Church. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Surviving in addition to his father, are three children; three sisters, Darlene Whenry of Avondale, Dianne O'Donnell of New Cumberland, Elaine Rhoads of Shermans Dale; two grandchildren; and a companion, Mary Ellen Lahr Snyder of Halifax.
Services will be held on Thursday, October 2, at 11 a.m., at Hoover Funeral Homes, Elizabethville. Burial with military honors will be in David's Church cemetery, Killinger. Viewing will be from 7-9 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home.

Freda K. Streeton
Freda Kantner Streeton, 48, of Pottsville, died Monday, September 22, 2003, in Pottsville.
She was a daughter of Joan Gorney Kantner of TN, formerly of Tower City and the late Kenneth Kantner.
She was a graduate of Williams Valley High School.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by a half-sister, Lauren Cooper of TN. Dimon Funeral Homes, Inc., Tower City, has charge of the arrangements.
Mary H. Tallon
Mary H. Tallon, 92, formerly of Tower City and Branchdale, died Monday, September 29, 2003, at the Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was a member of St. Mary Star of Sea Catholic Church, Branchdale.
She was predeceased by her husband, Michael and a daughter, Margurite Felty.
Surviving are her son, Gerald M. of Tower City; a brother, William McNamara of Minersville; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, October 2, at 10:30 a.m. from Sts. Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church, Tower City, with Rev. Michael Ahrensfield officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart cemetery, Williamstown. Viewing will be from 9-10:15 a.m. at the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Homes, Inc., Tower City.

Joyce A. Verbit
Joyce A. Verbit, 100, of Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center, died Monday, September 22, 2003, at the center.
Born in Mahanoy City, June 24, 1903, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Josephine Bushinsky Cooke. She lived in Mahanoy City, Pottsville, Shenandoah, and Tremont for nine years. She attended Mahanoy City schools.
She had worked as an executive housekeeper for various parishes in the Philadelphia Archdiocese. She also worked in the local garment industry and as a practical nurse.
She was member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Mahanoy City.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Anthony Cook; four sisters, Mame Engle, Helen Salukas, Adele Sakmari and Anna Mack.
Surviving are a son, Bernard of Lompoc, Calif.; two sisters, Matilda Kenesky of Frackville, and Frances Valent of Chesterfield, Mich.; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services were held at the convenience of the family. Louis Truskowsky Funeral Home Inc., Mahanoy City, was in charge of arrangements.
Walter J. Wallace
Walter J. Wallace, 91, of Lykens, died Sunday, September 28, 2003, at home.
Born in Ashland, May 17, 1912, he was a son of the late William and Mary Herring Wallace.
He retired as deputy prothonotary from the Dauphin County Court House, Harrisburg. He was a graduate of Ashland High School. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Wiconisco; and Ashlar Lodge No. 579 F&AM.;
Surviving are his wife, Margaret A. Yanchoris Wallace; a sister, Anna Schal of Norristown; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 1, at 11 a.m. at Calvary United Methodist Church, Wiconisco, with the Rev. Ann B. Overmiller officiating. Interment will be in Christ Church cemetery, Fountain Springs. Viewing will be from 10 a.m. until 10:45 Wednesday at the church, followed by Masonic Services beginning at 10:45 a.m.

Millard I. Boyer
Millard Ivan Boyer, 83, of Valley View, died Friday, September 19, 2003, at Susquehanna Lutheran Village, Millersburg.
Born in Valley View, September 12, 1920, he was a son of the late Daniel and Jennie Wolfgang Boyer.
He was a retired weighmaster from Kocher Coal Company, Valley View, and was a self-employed farmer. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Valley View, where he was a former member of the church council, Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School Treasurer for 40 years, and former delegate to the National Convention. He was a former member of the Patriotic Order of Sons of America; the Valley View Park Association; and Scoutmaster of the former Troop 62, Valley View.
Religious services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 25, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Valley View, with the Rev. Carl Shankweiler officiating, assisted by the Rev. Curtis Zemencik. Viewing will be from 9 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be in Trinity Lutheran cemetery, Valley View.

Joseph J. Brobst
Joseph James Brobst, 65, of Pine Grove, died Thursday, September 18, 2003, at his home.
Born in Pottsville, July 5, 1938, he was a son of the late Charles Sr. and Anna Elizabeth Riefsnyder Brobst.
He had been employed as a miner.
He was a social member of the Pine Grove VFW, Valley View Legion, Hook, Hose & Ladder Fire Company No. 1, North End Fire Company, Pine Grove. He was a member of Pine Grove Ten Pin Club and the Pine Grove Fish & Game.
Surviving are two brothers, Charles W. Jr. of Minersville, Harry of Pottsville; four sisters, Anna Mae Krammes and Betsy Anspach, both of Pine Grove, Mary Evans of Pottsville, and Mildred Breidigan of California; nieces and nephews.
Memorial services were held Monday, September 22, from the H.L. Sndyer Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, with the Dr. Rev. Richard Schoenleber officiating. Interment was in Jacob's Lutheran cemetery, Pine Grove. H.L. Sndyer Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, was in charge of arrangements.
Elizabeth L. Prince
Elizabeth “Betty” Lucille Feidt Prince, 83, formerly of Millersburg, died Tuesday, September 9, 2003, at Integrated Health Services, Hummelstown.
She was a daughter of the late Elizabeth Agnes Novinger Feidt and Robert Elmer Feidt, Sr.
She was a graduate of the Millersburg High School, Class of 1937. She retired from the former Muskins Shoe Factory and lived and worked most of her life in the Millersburg area.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Prince, Sr.; a sister, Carrie Luella Feidt Klinger; and two brothers, John Nathan Feidt, Sr. and William Edward Feidt.
Surviving are several nieces, Marian M. Klinger Shaffer of Coudersport, Lorena Feidt Lemons of Millersburg, Evelyn D. Feidt Longacre of Harrisburg, Sarah E. “Beth” Feidt of Baltimore, MD; and numerous children of their families.
Private graveside services were arranged by the Reinhard Funeral Home, Millersburg and held at the convenience of the family in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
Joseph H. Fetterhoff
Joseph H. Fetterhoff, 77, of Williamstown, died Saturday, September 20, 2003, at the Osteopathic Hospital, Lower Paxton Twp.
Born in Porter Twp. on May 11, 1926, a son of the late Harvey and Eliza Leininger Fetterhoff.
He retired from the former TRW, Harrisburg. He served in the US Marine Corps during WW II and was also a Korean War Air Force Veteran.
He was of the Protestant faith, a member of the Williamstown American Legion No. 239, the Williamstown V.F.W. and the Tower City Loyal Order of Moose No. 1603.
Surviving are his wife Carol A. Zerby Fetterhoff; two daughters Rochelle Challenger, Williamstown and Cindy Nolen, Mechanicsburg; two sons, Joseph, Jr., Florida and William of Williamstown; two step-daughters, Debra Lenker, Williamstown and Darla Williard, Harrisburg; a step-son, Brad Williard, Mechanicsburg; three sisters, Alice Billow, Dauphin, Helen Charles, Lebanon and Alma Perkins, Highspire; nine grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services with full military honors will be held Wednesday, September 24, at 11 a.m. from the Ft. Indiantown Gap National cemetery, Annville.
