Elizabeth C. Lentz
Elizabeth C. Lentz, 85, of Susquehanna Lutheran Village, Millersburg, died Monday, October 27, 2003, at the village.

Born in Binghamton, NY, February 21, 1918, she was a daughter of the late Ralph A. and M. Vera Eagle Crumb.

She was a graduate of the Philadelphia Osteopathic School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse, having worked many years with her late husband in Lykens and retired from the Messiah Village, Mechanicsburg. She was of the Catholic faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Richard B. Lentz.

Surviving are two sons, Norman C. Lentz of Apple Valley, Minnesota, and Dr. Edward H. Lentz of Millersburg; a bother, Ralph Crumb of California; a sister, Mary Jean Crumb of Toleda, Ohio; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Friday, October 31, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, with Father Richard P. Waldron as celebrant. Interment was in the Gate of Heaven cemetery, Mechanicsburg.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 310 Hertzler Rd., Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.

John R. Shultz Funeral Home, Lykens, was in charge of arrangements.

Erma E. Long
Erma E. Long, 89, of Millersburg, died Thursday, October 30, 2003, at Harrisburg Hospital.
Graveside services were held on Monday, November 3, at Oak Hill cemetery, Millersburg.

Family requests memorial donations be made to Hoover Funeral Home, 118 South Market Street, Millersburg, PA 17061. Hoover Funeral Homes, Inc., Millersburg, was in charge of arrangements.

Patricia A. Lucas
Patricia Ann Lucas, 62, of Joliett, died Sunday, November 2, 2003, at her home.
Born in Lebanon, February 12, 1941, she was a daughter of Julia M. Ditzler Forry of Tremont, and the late George W. Forry.

She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Lebanon.

Surviving are her husband of 27 years, Kenneth Lucas; two sons, Timothy Bender of Pitman, and Michael Bender of Tremont; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 5, at 10 a.m. at the Minnig-Berger Funeral Home, Tremont. Henry Lucas will officiate. Interment will be in St. John's Lutheran Church cemetery, Tremont. Minnig-Berger Funeral Home, Tremont, is in charge of arrangements.

Jean J. Madenford
Jean J. Madenford, 75, of Pine Grove, died Friday, October 31, 2003, at home.
Born in Pine Grove, December 17, 1927, she was a daughter of the late John and Lyda Barr Marshall.

She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Pine Grove.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Arlene Ramsey.

Surviving are her husband of 47 years, Raymond; three sons, John of Pine Grove, Kerry of Muir, and Randy of Tremont; two daughters, Sandra Wolfe and Ellen Madenford, both of Pine Grove; a brother, Robert Marshall of Reading; a sister, Faye Zimmerman of Pine Grove; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Services was held Tuesday, November 4, from H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, with the Rev. Dr. Richard Schoenleber officiating. Interment was in St. Peter's Lutheran cemetery, Pine Grove. H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, was in charge of arrangements.

Anna M. Peifer
Anna M. Peifer, 75, of the Susquehanna Lutheran Village, formerly of Elizabethville, died Sunday, November 2, 2003, in the village.

Born in Gratz, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Alma Moyer Leitzel.

She was a member of Salem U.C.C. in Elizabethville and the Elizabethville Senior Citizens.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray C. Peifer, who died in 1990.

Surviving are a daughter, Catherine Hoover of Halifax; two sons, Truman Peifer of Mandata and Arthur Peifer of Bloomsburg; a sister, Mary Straub of Elizabethville; two brothers, James Leitzel of Halifax and Clair Leitzel of Gratz; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, November 6, at 2:00 p.m. at Salem U.C.C. in Elizabethville. There will be no viewing or visitation. Interment will be in Sweitzer's Memorial cemetery, Berrysburg.

Memorial contributions may be made to her church, 143 W. Main Street, Elizabethville, PA 17023; or to Medic 6, P.O. Box 830, Elizabethville. Hoover Funeral Homes, Inc., Elizabethville, is in charge of arrangements.

Terry L. Schwalm
Terry Lee Schwalm, 58, of Williamstown, died Monday, November 3, 2003, at his home.

Born in Williamstown, June 25, 1945, he was a son of the late Ray and Sara Hoffman Schwalm.

He served with the Pennsylvania National Guard. He was a graduate of the former Williamstown High School and Penn State University.

He retired in June as General Vocation of Education for the State of Pennsylvania. He was a former industrial arts teacher in the Halifax School District.

He was the executive director of the TSA for the state of Pennsylvania; was the Chartered Organization Representative for Boy Scout Troop 147, Halifax; a member of the Williamstown American Legion Post 239; Ashlar Lodge No. 570 F&AM; , Lykens; Tall Cedars of Lebanon; Millersburg Forest No. 125; Fiddlers Run Sportsmen Association; the NRA; a life member of the Liberty Hose Co. No. 1, Williamstown; and a member of the Twin Valley Lions Club, Halifax, where he and his wife were well known for volunteering with the club's milk shake truck at local events. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing.

He was preceded in death by a brother, William.

Surviving are his wife of 20 years, the former Connie A. Lettich; a niece; a nephew; aunts and uncles.

Masonic services will be held Thursday, November 6, at 7 p.m. from the chapel of Dimon Funeral Homes, Inc., Tower City. Religious services will follow with the Rev. Curtis Zemencik officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in the Fairview cemetery, Williamstown.

Memorial donations may be made to the Liberty Hose Co. No. 1, W. Broad St., Williamstown PA 17098.

Frances M. Witmer
Frances M. Witmer, age 87, of Lykens, died Thursday, October 30, 2003, at home.
Born in Lykens on April 30, 1916, she was a daughter of the late William and Carrie Hoffman Witmer.

She was a retired factory worker and of the Lutheran Faith.

Surviving are a niece, Karen Sweeney of Warner Robins, GA; two nephews, Jim Witmer of Lykens, Keith Buggy of Mont Alto; and a friend, Donna Koons of Lykens.

Graveside services were held Tuesday, November 4, at Rolling Green cemetery, Camp Hill, with the Rev. Marleen Griffith-Stull officiating. The John R. Shultz Funeral Home, Lykens, was in charge of arrangements.

Elaine M. Yentsch
Elaine M. Yentsch, age 67, of Lykens, died Saturday, November 1, 2003, at Community General Osteopathic Hospital, Harrisburg.

She was a retired employee of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Labor and Industry; a graduate of the former Wiconisco High School; a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic; and an active volunteer in her church and community.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Christina Charney Yentsch and her brother, Eugene Yentsch.

Surviving are three sisters, Ann Spittle and Eleanor Rodichok, both of Williamstown, and Elizabeth Warfel of Lykens; and nieces and nephews.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 5, at her church, with Father Tri Luong as celebrant. Interment will be in the Parish cemetery. There will be no viewing or visitation.

Memorial contributions may be made to her church, 732 East Main Street, Lykens, PA 17048. John R. Shultz Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Kathryn E. Gasbarro
Kathryn E. Dietrich Gasbarro, 88, of Absecon, NJ, formerly of Specktown Road, died Friday, October 24, 2003, at Pomona, NJ.

She was a daughter of the late William E. and Helen M. Dietrich. She was a descendent of the Dietrich, Keiper, Hoffman, and Riegle families of Short Mountain, Specktown area.

She was a graduate of Lykens High School and a former member of Simeon's Lutheran Church, Gratz. She moved to Atlantic City, NJ, in the late 1930's to work at the Morton Hotel with her cousin Hannah Riegle McMennamin. She later operated the Verona Hotel, Michigan Ave., Atlantic City. She and her husband, Norman J. Gasbarro, later retired to Ventnor and later to Absecon. She was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Dietrich.

Surviving are three sons, Norman of Shohola, PA, William of Absecon, NJ, and James of Atlantic City, NJ; and four grandchildren.

Services were held at the Reformation Lutheran Church on Tuesday, October 28, Interment was in Laurel Memorial Park. The Lowenstein Funeral Home Inc., Smithville, NJ, was in charge of arrangements.

Jason H.J. Graybill
Jason H.J. Graybill, 17, of Dalmatia, died on Sunday, October 19, 2003, as the result of a motor vehicle accident, north of Millersburg on Route 147.
Born on January 29, 1986 in Lancaster, he was a son of John J. Graybill of Lancaster and Donna A. Galbraith Miller, wife of Isaac W. of Millersburg.

He was employed by County Fresh Onion, Millersburg. He enjoyed working on automobiles.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Harold Cooper.

In addition to his parents and stepfather, he is survived by, a brother, Derrick A. Graybill of Kodak, TN; a sister, Jessica J. Miller of Hershey; paternal grandparents, John and Ellen Graybill of Lancaster; maternal grandparents, Vivian Cooper of Millersburg; and John Galbraith, Sr. of Hummelstown; and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.

Services were held at David's Church, Killinger on Friday, October 24, with the Rev. Daniel Lepley officiating. Interment was in the Dellville Union cemetery, Dellville. Hoover Funeral Home Inc., Elizabethville, was in charge of arrangements.

Raymond E. Kissinger
Raymond E. Kissinger, 84, of Gratz, died Saturday, October 25, 2003, at his home.
Born August 24, 1919 in Lykens, he was a son of the late Jacob and Agnus Koppenhaver Kissinger.

He was retired inspector from the former Johnson-Bailey Shoe Company, Millersburg.

Surviving is his wife, Sara Harman Kissinger.

Religious Services will be held on Wednesday, October 29, at 11 a.m., from the James A. Reed Funeral Home, Pillow, PA. Interment will be in Gratz Union cemetery, Gratz. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday until service time at the funeral home. James A. Reed Funeral Home, Pillow, is in charge of arrangements.

David R. Kugle
David Raymond Kugle, 77, of Millersburg, died Friday, October 24, 2003, at the Harrisburg Hospital.
He was born on February 5, 1926 in Harrisburg.

He was a member of the Calvary Wesleyan Church in Millersburg.

Surviving are two sisters, Peggy Harp of Harrisburg and Betty Austin of Utah; and nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at Calvary Wesleyan Church, Millersburg on November 2, at 3 p.m. Interment will be in Woodlawn cemetery.

Mildred L. Lebo
Mildred L. Lebo, 86, died on Friday, October 24, 2003, at the Susquehanna Lutheran Village.
Born in Carsonville on Sunday, March 25, 1917, he was a son of the late Claude E. and Edna K. Enderline Etzweiler.

She was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses, Elizabethville Congregation.
She preceded in death by her husband, George G. Lebo.

Surviving are her daughter, Joyce Lebo of Williamstown; two sons, Carl of Elizabethville and Ronald of Halifax; two brothers, Homer and Cleon Etzweiler both of Millersburg; two sisters, Iona Keiter of Orwigsburg and Lola Keiter of Pottsville; five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 29, at Kingdom Hall in Elizabethville with a viewing from 10-11 a.m. Hoover Funeral Homes, Inc., Elizabethville is handling the arrangements.
