Harold H. Hatter, Jr.
Harold H. Hatter Jr., 55, of Pine Grove, died Monday, December 1, 2003, at Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey.
Born in Pottsville, January 24, 1948, he was a son of the late Harold H. "Kelly" and Lusetta A. Koehler Hatter. He was a 1965 graduate of Pine Grove Area High School.
He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, serving as an Sp4 with Troop B, 6th Squadron, 1st Cavalry, 2nd Armored Division. He received the Army Commendation Medal, the Combat Infantryman Badge, the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with three Bronze Stars, Sharpshooter, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm.
He was a foreman at Asplundh Tree Co., Willow Grove.
He was a member of St. Paul's Reformed Church, Ravine; Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3432, Pine Grove; and American Legion Post 109, Mechanicsburg. He was a former bowling coach in Pine Grove and Pottsville and was in the Pottsville Hall of Fame Bowling Association.
Surviving are his wife, the former Dawn Boyer; a son, Kyle of Mechanicsburg; a step-daughter, Karen Unger of Pine Grove; two brothers, Gary and Lee, both of Pine Grove; two sisters, Sandra Lee Serafino of Fleetwood, and Cindy Thomas of Pine Grove.
Services were held Friday, December 5, from H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, with the Rev. Dale Sattizahn officiating. Interment was in Indiantown Gap National cemetery, Annville. H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, was in charge of arrangements.
Helen S. Kinsinger
Helen S. Kinsinger, 96, of Halifax, died Saturday, November 29, 2003, at Susquehanna Lutheran Village, Mechanicsburg.
Born in Jackson Twp., Dauphin County on December 8, 1906, she was a daughter of the late Ira and Jennie Roush Keiter.
She had been an employee of the former Willets Shoe Factory, Halifax, retiring in 1954. She was educated in the Jackson Twp. schools.
She was a member of St. Peter's "Fetterhoff's" Lutheran Church in Halifax, where she had been a former organist, pianist and treasurer; and was a former member of the Farm Women's Group No. 12, Halifax.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel H. Kinsinger, who died in 1984; and three brothers, Oscar, Charles and Russell Keiter.
Surviving are nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 3, at St. Peter's "Fetterhoff's" Lutheran Church, Halifax, with the Rev. Michael Petresky officiating. Interment was in Spring Grove cemetery, Halifax.

Chester L. Klinger
Chester L. Klinger, 78, of Wiconisco Township, died Thursday, December 4, 2003, at home.
Born in Fearnot, September 28, 1925 He was a son of the late Lester and Kate Klinger.
He was a retired coal miner and an Army Veteran of World War II. He received the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal, Expert Markmans Medal, Valuitorius Service Medal and the Silver Star.
He was a member of Gratz V.F.W. Post 2385. He enjoyed hunting.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan.
Surviving are three sons, David Klinger of Iowa, Stephen Klinger of Elizabethville and Michael Klinger of Dillsburg; two daughters, Bonita Paul of South Dakota and Trudy Klinger of Dornsife; four sisters, Eilene Leitzel and Violet Rebuck, both of Gratz, Melba Croutharmel of Elizabethville and Ida Koppenhaver of Gratz; eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 9, at the John R. Shultz Funeral Home, Lykens, with the Rev. Robert L. Straub officiating. Interment with military honors by Gratz V.F.W. Nancy E. Koons
Nancy E. Koons, 76, of Pine Grove, died Wednesday, December 3, 2003, at the Pottsville Good Samaritan Hospital.
Funeral services were held on Monday, December 8, at the Rohland Funeral Home, with Rev. Daniel Herner officiating. Interment was in Grandview Memorial Park.

Margaret E. Lenker
Margaret E. Lenker, 85, of Lykens, died Sunday, December 7, 2003, at Kepler Convalescent Home, Elizabethville.
She was a member of Lykens United Methodist Church.
Born in Lykens, July 5, 1918, she was a daughter of the late William and Cora Shaffner Forney.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Allen, Herman and Walter Forney; and a sister, Edna Forney.
Surviving are a son, Ted R. Lenker of Lykens; two sisters, Betty Bressler and Dorothy Scheibelhut, both of Mechanicsburg.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 10, at the John R. Shultz Funeral Home, with the Rev. Keith J. Schmuck officiating. Interment in the P.O.S. of A. cemetery. Viewing will be from 10:30-11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Kenneth W. Moyer
Kenneth W. Moyer, 81, of Halifax died Thursday December 4, 2003, at Susquehanna Lutheran Village, Millersburg.
He was born in Donaldson, a son of the late Harrison & Florence Seiler Moyer. He was a member of Halifax U.M. Church and a Navy veteran of WWII.
Surviving are his wife Dorothy Bush Moyer; a daughter Connie Shoop; grandson Ty Shoop, Sr. and granddaughter Aimee Scheib all of Halifax; and eight great-grandchildren.

Kathryn E. Naffin
Kathryn Eve "Kit" Naffin, 83, of Pine Grove, died Saturday, December 6, 2003, at home.
Born in Weston Place, October 24, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Bert and Catherine Webber Adams. She was a 1939 graduate of Minersville High School.
She managed Messner & Hess Variety Store, Schuylkill Haven, for 62 years with her husband.
She was a member of Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Schuylkill Haven.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Dresher and Jacqueline Murphy.
Surviving are her husband, Harry S.; a daughter, Cynthia Naffin of Thousand Oaks, CA; a son, Kevin of Sandpoint, Idaho; two sisters, Irma Lyons of Minersville, and Alda Adams of Harrisburg.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family from H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove. The Rev. Richard Wolf will officiate. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National cemetery, Annville.

Olive M. Shoop
Olive "Betz" May Shoop, 76, of Halifax, died December 1, 2003, at home.
Born June 15, 1922 in Dauphin she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Jane Shoop Facer.
She was a former employee of Coca Cola Bottling and Carlisle Shoe Co. She was a graduate of Dauphin and William Penn High School.
She was a member of the Valley's UCC in Halifax.
She preceded in death by her husband, Albert Shoop.
Surviving are a sister Margaret E. Shoop of Halifax and many nieces and nephews.
Services were held on Tuesday December 9, at the Valley's UCC in Halifax. Interment was in Riverview Memorial Gardens, Halifax.

Carrie E. Robson
Carrie E. Robson, age 90, of Wicinisco, died Tuesday, December 2, 2003, at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
She was a member of Faith Evangelical Congregational Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. William T. Robson, Jr.
Surviving are a daughter, Carrie E. Autry, with whom she resided; a son, George Robson of Cincinnati, Ohio; a sister, Mae Shiley of Williamstown; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grand-children.
Funeral services were held Saturday, December 6, at her church, with the Rev. Randall L. Sizemore officiating. Interment was in Calvary United Methodist cemetery.

Willard Franklin Schade, Sr., 77, of Valley View, died Monday, December 8, 2003, at his home.
Born in Hubley Twp., May 4, 1926, he was a son of the late Clyde and Carrie Heffner Schade.
He was a Navy Veteran of World War II receiving the American Theater Ribbon, the Victory Medal, and the Pacific Theater Ribbon.
He was a retired Independent Long Distance Truck Driver.
He was a member of American Legion Post 575 of Valley View.
He was preceded in death by two sisters Hazel Richards and Dolores Mussetts.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years Catherine Sabaday Schade; three sons Willard Schade, Jr. of Valley View, Eric Schade of Valley View, and Brian Schade of Woodbridge, VA.; three daughters Linda Koppenhaver of Pottstown, Barbara Klinger of Pottstown, and Gloria Schade of Valley View; a brother Edward Schade of Shrewsbury; a sister Grace Wetzel of Wiconisco; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. on Thursday, December 11, at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, with the Rev. Curtis Zemencik officiating.
A viewing will be held from 8 to 9 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Georgianna Schucker
Georgianna Schucker, 97, formerly of Pine Grove, died Monday, December 1, 2003, at Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Williamsport, March 25, 1906, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Daisy Young Honafius.
She was a retired piano teacher.
She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Pine Grove, and Pine Grove Senior Citizens.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen D., who died on January 24, 1972; and a son, Andrew "Jack, " on October 8, 1970.
Surviving is a grandson, John Schucker.
