Gussie K. Bahner
Gussie Kathryn Bahner, 93, of RD Dalmatia, died Thursday, January 22, 2004, at Sunbury Community Hospital.
Born at RD Sunbury, May 30, 1910, she was a daughter of the late Clyde Bower and Katie Walborn.
She was a member of Zion Stone Valley United Lutheran Church, Dalmatia, where she was very active in the church and Sunday School, the Ladies Aid Society, and the Lutheran Missionary Society.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond A. Bahner.
Surviving are a daughter, Lena Kopp of Elizabethville; a son, Kenneth Bahner of Dalmatia; two sisters, Pearl Adams of RD Sunbury, and Martha Markoski of RD Sunbury; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services were held Saturday, January 24, at the James A. Reed Funeral Home, Pillow, with the Rev. Dan Busch officiating. Interment was in Stone Valley cemetery, Dalmatia.

Sarah K. Billow
Sarah Knipe Billow, 98, of Elizabethville, died Saturday, January 24, 2004, at the Susquehanna Lutheran Village, Millersburg.
Born in Harrisburg, March 16, 1905, she was a daughter of the late Robert Earl and Blanche Mae Bircher Wallis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth E. Billow and a son, Jackson Wallis McKinney.
Surviving are a daughter, Judith E. Wile of Dillsburg; a son, Kenneth Wesley Billow of Elizabethville; a brother, Edwin Wallis, 100, of Northumberland; a sister, Elizabeth Nichols of Liverpool; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grand-children.
Services will be held on Wednesday, January 28, at 11 a.m. at David's Church in Millersburg, with a viewing from 10 a.m. until service time. Pastor John Troutman will officiate. Interment will be in Liverpool cemetery, Liverpool.

Jay C. Bowman
Jay Chadwick Bowman, 82, of Halifax, died Friday, January 23, 2004, at Select Specialty Hospital, Camp Hill.
Born in Halifax Twp., May 22, 1921, he was a son of the late J. Mehargue and Rebecca Clouser Bowman.
He was a member of Zion Stone United Methodist Church, Halifax. He was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the 6th United States Marine Corps, and was wounded in action at Okinawa on May 22, 1945.
He was a life member of the Halifax VFW Post 5750, a life member of the Halifax Area Historical Society, and a member of the Ned Smith Center for Nature and Art.
He retired in 1981, after 40 years of service, as a car inspector for the former Pennsylvania Railroad and Conrail.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Todd D. Bowman.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Arla Miller Bowman; two daughters, April Taylor and Jan Snyder both of Millersburg; a brother, Blake Bowman of Millersburg; a sister, Joyce Hoffman of Halifax; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held on Thursday, January 29, at the Halifax United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. There will be a viewing from 10-11 a.m. Burial with military honors will be in Riverview Memorial Gardens, Halifax.

Robert E. Dietz Sr.
Robert E. Dietz Sr., 71, of Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center, formerly of Frackville, died Monday, January 19, 2004, at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.
Born in Mount Carmel, October 29, 1932, he was a son of the late Herlen and Loretta Lauer Dietz. He was a 1949 graduate of Frackville High School.
He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
He retired after 37 years as a supervisor at Western Electric AT&T; , Reading.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Frackville, former Sunday school teacher, Frackville Midget Football and Little League coach, and former member of Elks Lodge 1533, Frackville.
His was preceded in death by his wife, the former Carol Benensky, who died in 2000.
Surviving are three sons, Robert E. Jr. of Johnson City, Tenn., Richard E. of Schuylkill Haven, and Lloyd E. of Frackville; a daughter, Laurie E. Oley of Marseilles, Ill.; a brother, Marlin of New Castle, Del.; eight grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services were held Saturday, January 24, at Zion Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Cynthia F. Kennett officiating. Interment was in Sky-View Memorial Park, Hometown. Albert L. Gricoski Funeral Home, Frackville, was in charge of arrangements.
William T. English
William T. English, 86, of Tower City, died Wednesday, Janaury 21, 2004, at Pottsville Hospital.
Born in Sheridan, April 8, 1917, he was a son of the late Mason and Lottie Thompson English.
He retired after more than 30 years as a mail carrier for the Tower City Post Office and owned and operated his own barber shop.
He was of the United Methodist faith.
He was a founding member of Tower-Porter Ambulance Association, former member and chief of Tower City Fire Company and a member of Moose Lodge 1603.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, the former Dorothy L. Herb, on April 3, 2003; a son, William R., on July 8, 1999; a brother, Charles; a sister, Arlene Romberger.
Surviving are a son, Gary D. of Williamstown; three sisters, Helen Richards of Millersburg, Blanche Jones of Danville, and Jackie Moretz of New York; three grandsons; and a great-granddaughter.
Graveside services were held Monday, January 26, in Greenwood cemetery, with the Rev. Edward Gobrecht officiating. Dimon Funeral Homes Inc., Tower City, was in charge of arrangements.
Donna M. Herman
Donna M. Herman, 75, of Williamstown, died Tuesday, January 20, 2004, at home.
Born in Williamstown, January 12, 1929, she was a daughter of the late John and Ruth Bowman McNeal.
She was a member of Williamstown United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E., who died in 1989; two brothers, Elwood and Clair McNeal; two nephews, William and Michael McNeal.
Surviving are a nephew, James E. McNeal of Williamstown; a niece, Marie A. Trayer of Williamstown; grandnieces and grandnephews.

Roy E. Hoffman
Roy E. Hoffman, 58, of Hegins, formerly of Lykens, died Monday, January 19, 2004, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born in Lykens, March 4, 1945, he was a son of the late George and Florence Boyer Hoffman.
He had been employed ad a photographer by the federal government at Indiantown Gap Military Reservation. He was a 1965 graduate of the former Lykens High School. He was a Navy veteran and had retired from the Pennsylvania National Guard.
He was a member of Christ United Church of Christ, Fountain, where he had served as church deacon; Liberty Hose Co. No. 2, Lykens; American Legion Post 239, Williamstown; Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Forest No. 125, Millersburg; Valley Lodge No. 797, F&AM; , and past commander of Disabled American Veterans, both of Valley View.
Surviving are a companion, Arlene Smith; two brothers, Lester Hoffman of Lykens, and Paul Hoffman of Loyalton; four sisters, Ethel Evans and Elaine Antes, both of Lykens, Mary Derrick of Morristown, NJ, and Loretta 'Judy' Stickler of Jonestown; nieces and nephews.
Memorial services were held Friday, January 23, at his church, with the Rev. Claude H. Schach officiating. Interment was in Calvary United Methodist cemetery, Wiconisco.

Wyona Liddick-Monte
Wyona Liddick-Monte, 93, of Miami, FL, formerly of Millersburg, died December 30, 2003 in Miami.
She was a former employee and retiree of the PA Dept. of Transportation and a long time resident of Harrisburg and in recent years in Millersburg and Lady Lake, FL. She attended Grace U.M. Church, while living in Millersburg.
Surviving are a grandson, David Cugat and a step-grandson of Miami; a step-daughter, Joanne Chubb of Millersburg; two step-granddaughters, Karen Fulkroad of Millersburg and Kimberly Martz of Dalmatia; nine step-great-grandchildren, two step-great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews in Ontario, Canada.
Graveside memorial services were held in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Harrisburg at the convenience of the family. Hoover Funeral Homes, Inc. Millersburg handled arrangements.
Vera E. Maurer
Vera E. Maurer, 62, of Lancaster, died Thursday, January 22, 2004, at home.
Born in Hegins, May 6, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Irvin and Edna Schwartz Schlegel.
She was the manager of the Red Rose Bridge Club for many years, where she was a certified director and attained the rank of silver life master.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel.
Surviving are her husband of 42 years, Roger G.; three sons, Randall A. of Reston, Va., John R. of Fredericksburg, Va., and Bryan R. of Delmont; a daughter, Sharon L. Sarcinello of Downingtown; two sisters, Doris Williams of Millersburg, and Brenda Williamson of Landisville; four grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services were held Tuesday, January 27, at the Valley View Church of God, with the Rev. Gerald Frey officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery, Valley View. Buffington-Reed Funeral Home Inc., Valley View, was in charge of arrangements.
Bruce L. Nunemacher
Bruce L. Nunemacher, 77, of Lititz, died Monday, January 19, 2004, at Alterra Clare Bridge, East Petersburg.
Born in Tower City, he was a son of the late John M. and Minnie V. Reiner Nunemacher.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving as an infantry scout.
He retired in 1983 after 32 years as a lab assistant for the former Raymark Industries, Manheim. He was owner and operator of The Wood Shop, Lititz, for more than 30 years. He demonstrated carving and woodworking at Kutztown Folk Festivals for more than 25 years and at other festivals in Pennsylvania, Maryland and West Virginia.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald R.
Surviving are his wife, with whom he would have celebrated his 56th anniversary February 1, Arlene B. Gochenaur Nunemacher; a son, Colin B. of Manheim; a daughter, Dianne S. Hobson of East Greenville; and two grandsons.
Services were held Friday, January 23, from Buch Funeral Home, Manheim. Interment was in Hernley Mennonite cemetery, Rapho Township.
William C. Roadcap, Jr.
William C. "Bill" Roadcap, Jr., 55, died Sunday, January 25, 2004.
Born in Halifax Twp., July 20, 1948, he was a son of the late William C. and Iona Custer Roadcap.
He graduated from Halifax High School, Class of 1966. He was a 34 year employee of IBM, Corp., a long time volunteer and former member of the Board of Directors of the Capital Area United Way; member of the Body of Christ at Hillside Christian Fellowship, Millersburg; member of the Central PA Corvette Club; Single Action Shooters Society; and the Millersburg Sportsmen's Club.
Surviving are his wife, Sherry; son, Matthew John Roadcap of Charleston, WV; a daughter Toni Henry of Marietta, OH; a brother, Jack Roadcap of Harrisburg; a sister, Charlotte Snyder of Halifax; three grandsons; and nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Religious services will be held at Hillside Christian Fellowship at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 30, with Rev. Robert Stoner officiating. Interment will be in Riverview Memorial Gardens, Halifax. Friends are invited to call on Thursday from 6-9 p.m. and Friday from 10-11 a.m. at Hillside Christian Fellowship.

James W. Savidge, 63, of Tower City, died Saturday, January 24, 2004, at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Pottsville.
Born in Hegins, April 30, 1940, he was a son of the late Wilmer L. and Gertrude E. Limbert Savidge.
He was a retired self employed contractor; member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Tower City and the Lykens Valley Hunting Club.
Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Joan L. Brower Savidge; a son, Todd J. of Oxford; two daughters, Tammie J. Savidge and Gaye A. Ritzman, both of Williamstown; and seven grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Tuesday, January 27, from his church, with Rev. Edward Gobrecht officiating. Interment was at the convenience of the family, at St. Peters cemetery, Orwin.
