Stanley E. Fenstermacher
Stanley E. Fenstermacher, 71, of Schuylkill Haven, formerly of Pine Grove, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004, at York Terrace Nursing Home, Pottsville.

Born in Pine Grove, October 30, 1932, he was a son of the late Robert W. and Ada Herring Fenstermacher. He was a graduate of Pine Grove High School.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

He was last employed by the Schuylkill Haven Casket Co., Schuylkill Haven, and also worked as a carpenter for many years.

He was a member of Schuylkill Church of the Brethren, Pine Grove.

Surviving are his wife, June R. Fidler Fenstermacher; a son, Stanley R. of Virginia Beach, Va.; four daughters, Joann M. Nissly of Fleetwood, Linda J. Hawk of Jacksonville, Fla., Brenda L. Casebolt of West Virginia, and Lisa A. Kinsley of Davenport, Iowa; a brother, Edgar of Lebanon; three sisters, Isabel Brown of Pine Grove, Minnie Wenrich of Bethel, and Annie Moyer of Friedensburg; 13 grandchildren.

Private services were held at the convenience of the family. Interment was private at the convenience of the family in Indiantown Gap National cemetery, Annville. Ebling-Stabingas Funeral Home Inc., Cressona, was in charge of arrangements.

Dorothea K. Fisher
Dorothea K. Fisher, 84, of Ashland, died Monday, Feb. 16, 2004, at Ashland Regional Medical Center, Fountain Springs.

Born in Chester, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late Julius and Ottilie Herzke Kroll. She was a graduate of Chester High School and a 1941 graduate of Lebanon Valley College, Annville.

She taught English at Tri-Valley High School for many years, and later worked as a secretary before retiring.

She was a member of First United Methodist Presbyterian Church, Ashland, where she played piano for many years, and Ashland Historical Society and Friends of the Anthracite Museum.

She was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.

Surviving are her husband of 52 years, William; a son, William Jr. of Ashland; nieces and nephews.

Services were held Thursday, Feb. 19, at First UM Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Harry Clark officiating. Interment was in Brock cemetery, Ashland. Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland, was in charge of arrangements.

Angela L. Gibson
Angela L. Gibson, 30, of Tower City, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004, at her home.

Born in Camp Hill, April 6, 1973, she was a daughter of Gary Perkins and Tina Paul Alleman, both of Tower City.

She was a 1991 graduate of Upper Dauphin High school; and a member of the Christ Episcopal Church, Lykens.

Surviving in addition to her parents are her husband, Joseph L.; a daughter, Kailey S. and a son, Bryce T., both at home; her paternal grandparents, James and Lois Rowe Perkins of Lykens; her maternal grandparents, Howard and Betty Snyder Paul of Shermansdale; and her mother and father-in-law, Lloyd and Carol Gibson of Muir.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 21, from the Chapel of Dimon Funeral Homes, Inc., Tower City, with the Revs. Keith and Donna Whitmore. Interment was in the St. Peters cemetery, Orwin.

Memorial contributions may be made to Pinnacle Health Hospice, 301 One Norwegian Plaza, Pottsville, PA 17901. Chapel of Dimon Funeral Homes, Inc., Tower City, was in charge of arrangements.

Olga Hrinda
Olga Hrinda, 81, of Wiconisco, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004, at Harrisburg Hospital.

She was a graduate of Wiconisco High School.

She was a member of Holy Ascension Orthodox Church, Lykens, its former St. Barbara Sisterhood, and a member of the Wiconisco High School Alumni Association.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Joseph; a son, Michael John.

Surviving are a daughter, Nancy Coles of Wiconisco; a sister, Mary Sites of Port Charlotte, Fla.; two grandchildren.

Services were held Saturday, Feb. 21, at Holy Ascension Orthodox Church, Lykens, with the Rev. Michael H. Evans officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to her church, 752 North Second St., Lykens, PA 17048. John R. Shultz Funeral Home, Lykens, was in charge of arrangements.

Jonathan L. Jury
Jonathan L. Jury, 23, of Millersburg, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004 in Hershey Medical Center from injuries received in a vehicular accident, on Route 147 in Halifax Twp.

He was born in Harrisburg, the son of Roger Jury of Halifax and Becci Kaufman Jury of Millersburg.

Surviving in addition to his parents is a son, Kolby Lee Jury and a companion, Mindy Hendricks; a sister, Elizabeth Jury of Millersburg; maternal grandparents, David and Dharlys Kaufman of Halifax; paternal grandparents, Raymond and Shirley Jury of Halifax; maternal great-grandparents, George and Mary Troutman of Millersburg; maternal great-grandmother, Ethel Kaufman of Halifax; his mother's fiance, William Burch of Millersburg.

Services were held on Saturday, Feb. 21 at 11:30 a.m., at Trinity UCC, Millersburg. Burial was in Long's cemetery, Halifax. Hoover Funeral Homes, Millersburg is handling arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made payable to the Edward Jones Investments Fund, P.O. Box 593, Halifax, PA 17032 c/o Kolby Jury scholarship fund.

Robert R. Klinger
Robert R. Klinger, 72, of Dalmatia, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004, at home.

Born in Erdman, he was a son of the late Luther and Helen Engle Klinger.

He was a graduate of the former Hubley Twp. High School; retired from TRW/Chromalloy in Harrisburg; member of Klinger's Church in Erdman; Herndon Lodge No. 702 F&AM; and the Dalmatia, Herndon and Hickory Corners volunteer fire companies.

Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Elsie Brown Klinger; two sons, Kenneth of Virginia Beach, VA and Kelvin of Moscow, PA; two daughters, Krista Geise of Selinsgrove and Kandy Conrad of Dalmatia; a brother, Ernest of Lykens, RD; a sister, Shirley Kahler of Dornsife, RD; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Herb.

Services were held on Monday, Feb. 23, at the Hoover Funeral Homes, Inc. in Millersburg. Interment was in Riverview Memorial Gardens, Halifax.

Memorial contributions may be made to the person's favorite charity in Bob's memory. Hoover Funeral Homes, Inc., Millersburg, was in charge of arrangements.

J. Wilmer Lapp
J. Wilmer Lapp, 68, of Halifax, died Friday, Feb. 13, 2004, at his home.

Born in Gordonville, September 13, 1935 he was a son of he late David C. and Lydia S. Glick Lapp.

He was a member of Free Grace Brethren in Christ Church, Millersburg; a member of the PA Farm Bureau for 35 years and a Congregational Representative for the Mennonite Disaster Service. He enjoyed antique farming equipment and trips by rail.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Beth Robin.

Surviving are his wife, Kathryn Hoober Lapp; a son, J. David Lapp of Halifax; two daughters, Renee L. Norris of Elizabethtown, and Sonya K. Hogsett of Halifax; a brother, Kenneth D. Lapp of Intercourse; three sisters, Arlene Glick of New Holland, Mabel Glick of Lancaster and Verna Wirth of Intercourse; and six grandchildren.

A memorial service was held on Monday, Feb. 16, at Free Grace Brethren in Christ, Millersburg, followed by a graveside service in Ridgeview cemetery, Gordonville.

Memorial donations can be sent to PinnacleHealth Hospice at 3705 Elmwood Drive, Harrisburg, PA 17110.

Hoover Funeral Homes, Inc., Elizabethville was in charge of arrangements.

Clement Merwine Sr.
Clement E. Merwine Sr., 76, formerly of Williamstown, died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004, at Lebanon Veterans Administration Medical Center.

Born in Williamstown, April 29, 1927, he was a son of the late Clement O. and Ada Kimmel Merwine.

He was an Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War.

He retired after 37 years as supply clerk with the 79th Army Reserve Command at Fort Indiantown Gap, Annville. He also retired after 35 years as a master sergeant with the National Guard 228 Supply and Transport.

He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, a life member of Williamstown American Legion Post 239, Liberty Hose Company No. 1, Williamstown, Williamstown VFW, Tower City Moose Lodge 1603 and was active with the Williamstown Youth Athletic Association where he was a former coach.

He was the pitcher for the championship Fort Indiantown Gap slow pitch baseball team, an All-Star pitcher for the Orwin Rockets and a stock car racer at the former Goldmine Raceway.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Brandon Merwine; a sister, Shirley Nehanke.

Surviving are his wife, the former Joan E. Lubold of Elizabethville, with whom he would have celebrated their 50th anniversary on March 22; two sons, Clement E. Jr. of Elizabethville, and Rick R. of Carlisle; two daughters, Jacqueline J. Whitcomb of Williamstown, and Linda L. Flynn of Tower City; a brother, Lester of Williamstown; two sisters, Ardys Bowerman of Hershey, and Carol Zerbe of Williamstown; 13 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; nieces and nephews.

Services were held Monday, Feb. 23, from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Homes Inc., Tower City. Interment with full military honors was in Indiantown Gap National cemetery, Annville. Dimon Funeral Homes Inc., Tower City, was in charge of arrangements.

Raymond A. Reed
Raymond A. Reed, 91, of Klingerstown, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born in Klingerstown, April 25, 1912, he was a son of the late James A. and Phronie M. Brown Reed. He was educated in Klingerstown area schools.

He was a retired farmer, coal miner, truck driver, small engine mechanic and had last sold and repaired lawn mowers. He also owned and drove school buses for Klingerstown area schools from 1948 through the early 1960s.
He was affiliated with St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Klingerstown.

He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Mary S. Bohner, who died on March 1, 2002; a son, Russell L.; two sisters, Stella Reed, in infancy, and Blanche A. Straub.

Surviving are a son, Ronald R. of Las Vegas, Nev.; two grandsons; a nephew; a niece.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 11 a.m. from Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, Klingerstown, with the Rev. Mark Rothermel officiating. Viewing will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Interment will be in St. Michael's Lutheran cemetery, Klingerstown. Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, Klingerstown, is in charge of arrangements.

Virginia C. Rowe
Virginia C. "Ginny" Rowe, 63, of West Fairview, died Friday, Feb. 13, 2004, in Holy Spirit Hospital.
She was a retired employee of the American Legion Post 984, West Fairview and a member of its Ladies Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald L. Rowe.

Surviving are a daughter, Janice P. Homer of Millersburg; three sons, Gregory A. Rowe of West Fairview; twin sons, Michael R. Rowe of Orlando, FL and Brian E. Rowe of Ashland; a brother, Harry McCombs of New Bloomfield; three sisters, Dee McKenzie of San Diego, CA, Carolyn Weaver and Mary Lou Mcrae, both of West Fairview; and seven grandchildren.

Services were held Monday, Feb. 16, at Musselman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Lemoyne. Interment was in Enola cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Legion Post 984, West Fairview, PA 17025. Musselman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Lemoyne, was in charge of arrangements.

Elizabeth M. Shive
Elizabeth M. Shive, 90, of Halifax, died Wednesday Feb. 18, 2004, at home.

Born in Lykens, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Sadie Welker Snyder.

Surviving are her husband, Elmer S. Shive; a son, Gerald of Dauphin; a daughter, Patricia Welcomer of Halifax; a brother, Henry Snyder of Elizabethville; five grandchildren; and 11-great grandchildren.

Services were held on Monday Feb. 23, at the Hoover Funeral Homes, Inc., in Millersburg. Interment was in Long's cemetery, Halifax.

Edna K. Stutzman
Edna Kathryn Stutzman, 88, of Valley View, died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2004, at the Pottsville Hospital.

Born on May 4, 1915 in Gratz, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Sally Wolfe Kissinger.

She retired as a trimmer from Valley View Enterprises, Valley View, Pa. She was a member of the ILGWU; and a member of Friedens United Church of Christ, Hegins.

She was preceded in death by two brothers Earl Kissinger and Charles Kissinger and by twin infant daughters.

Surviving are her husband of 66 years, Charles Stutzman; a daughter Dolores Zerbe, of Valley View; a son Robert Stutzman of Corona, Calif.; a sister Pauline Wetzel, of Baden; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 20, at Friedens United Church of Christ, Hegins, with the Rev. Claude Schach officiating. Interment was in Friedens cemetery, Hegins.
