Florence E. Zimmerman
Florence E. Zimmerman, 89, of Pine Grove, died Friday, Feb. 20, 2004, at Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center, Tremont.
Born in Pine Grove, December 23, 1914, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Louisa Hubley Bonawitz. She was a 1933 graduate of Pine Grove High School.
She was a presser for the former Fox-Knapp Manufacturing, Summit Station Manufacturing and Canoe Manufacturing, all in Pine Grove.
She was a member of Pine Grove Wesleyan Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin, who died in 1940; a daughter, Carol Kull; two great-grandchildren; four sisters, Sarah Eisenhauer, Mary Zimmerman, Elsie Zimmerman and Ruth Bonawitz; two brothers, John and Charles Bonawitz.
Surviving are a daughter, Virginia Derfler of Pine Grove; a brother, Daniel Bonawitz of Pine Grove; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held Wednesday, Feb. 25, from H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, with the Rev. Tim Moore officiating. Interment was in St. John's Lutheran cemetery, Pine Grove. H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, was in charge of arrangements.
Daniel L. Schadle
Daniel L. Schadle, 22, of Fleetwood, died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2004, at home.
Born in Richmond Township, Berks County, July 6, 1981, he was a son of Grant L. and Martha Stump Schadle, Fleetwood. He attended Hobe Sound Christian Academy, Hobe Sound, Fla., and Berrysburg Christian Academy.
He worked for Redner's Markets, Sinking Spring, and Double H Boot Co., Womelsdorf.
He was a member of God's Missionary Church, Lebanon.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are two brothers, Grant L. III of West Valley City, Utah, and Shenandoah, and Eric R. of Pace, Fla.; a sister, Julianna M. Williams of Whitehall; a maternal grandmother, Barbara Stump of Mechanicsburg; a paternal grandmother, Esther Fishburn of Ashland; aunts and uncles; six nephews; two nieces.
Services were held Friday, Feb 27, at God's Missionary Church. Interment was in the Valley View cemetery. Strauss-Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home, Jonestown, was in charge of arrangements.
Martin L. Rowe
Martin Luther Rowe, of Elizabethville, died on Monday, Feb. 23, 2004, at home.
Born on the family farm in Rife, January 25, 1909, the son of the late Isaac and Caroline Webner Rowe.
On March 25, 1940, Martin and H. Mary Bahner were married
.
He worked as a truck driver. He was a veteran of the US Army having served during World War II. He also worked for 27 1/2 years as a machinist at the Mechanicsburg Navy Depot and following his retirement worked for 10 years as night watchman at the former Whitmer Motors.
He was a social member of the Elizabethville Fire Co. No. 1 and the local American Legion Post No. 404 Elizabethville. He was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church, Elizabethville. He was an active Mason and had memberships in the Ashlar Lodge No. 570, Lykens; Millersburg Tall Cedars of Lebanon; Harrisburg Consistory; Zembo Shrine and the Upper Dauphin Shrine Club, where he held the position of Director Emeritus.
He was the last surviving member of the family of Isaac and Caroline Webner Rowe.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Bahner Rowe who died on April 29, 2003; six brothers, Frank, George, John, Ralph, Guy, Oscar; and a sister, Maude May Strohecker.
Surviving are six nieces and six nephews and a number of great nieces and nephews.
Services were held at his church on Friday, Feb. 27, with Rev. Nancy L. Weiss and his great-nephew, Rev. Eugene Shiffer officiating. Interment was in Maple Grove cemetery, Elizabethville. Masonic services followed the interment services at the grave site.

Robin Roth
Robin Roth, 44, of Sheppton, died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004.
Born in Harrisburg, September 11, 1959, she was a daughter of the late Roger V. Miller and Nancy Miller of Millersburg.
She was a 1977 graduate of the Upper Dauphin Area High School; member of the Shenandoah Congregation of the Jehovah Witnesses and last worked as a representative for Blue Shield in Harrisburg.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, William Roth and a son, Kyle Roth, both of Sheppton; two brothers, Clark Miller of Elizabethville, and Jason Miller of Millersburg; two sisters, Ann Carbone of Florida and Dawn Hickey of Harrisburg; her grandmother, Mabel Miller of Fleetwood; and nieces and nephews.
Private services were held at the convenience of the family.
The Stauffer-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ringtown, was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
Ann E. Robinson
Ann Ellen Robinson, 74, of Tremont, died Monday, Feb. 23, 2004, at the Pottsville Hospital and Warne Clinic.
Born in Pottsville, September 7, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Dr. John Wesley and Alice Heebner Conrad. She was a 1947 graduate of Port Carbon High School.
She had worked as an admissions clerk for the Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center and the Pottsville Hospital and Warne Clinic, both in Pottsville. She later worked at Behm's Restaurant and the former Tremont Pizza, both in Tremont.
She was a member of the former Tremont Women's Club, and was a former dispatcher for the Tremont Ambulance and Police Department. She was a member of the Tremont Ambulance Auxiliary; the Tremont Fire Co. and its Auxiliary; the Tremont Light and Banner Committee; and the Tremont Community Organization. For many years she was a volunteer at the Tremont Community Pool.
She was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Tremont.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. James Phillip Robinson, who died in 1988.
Surviving are a daughter, Florence 'Tinc' Monger, and two sons, John W. C. and James Jr., all of Tremont; a brother, Thomas H. Conrad of Glenside; and three granddaughters.
Funeral services were held on Friday, Feb. 27, from the Minnig-Berger Funeral Home, Tremont, with the Rev. Roberta Mellen officiating. Interment was in St. John's Lutheran cemetery, Tremont. Minnig-Berger Funeral Home, Tremont, was in charge of arrangements.
Irene P. Osman
Irene P. Osman, 81, died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2004, at the Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, Lewisburg.
Born June 26, 1922 in Harrisburg, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Mitchell and Anna Jane Burd Patton.
She was a graduate of the Halifax High School.
She is preceded by her husband of almost 30 years, C. Fred Osman, who was a pilot for the Bureau of Aviation in PA. Together they owned and operated the former Osman's Grocery store in Halifax for 13 years. From 1974 to 1978 Irene supervised the Elizabethville office of the Manpower Program, a job training program through the Tri-County Commission for Community Action funded by CETA. She was a longtime member of the Lyken's Valley Flying Association in Elizabethville.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Larue Funk.
Surviving are a son, Fred P. Osman of Harrisburg; a daughter, Karen I. Teisher of Selinsgrove; a brother, Leroy Patton of Halifax; four sisters, June Farmer of Rheems, Anna Mae Springer of New Cumberland, Nancy Kulva of Greencastle and Carolyn Kiner of Camp Hill; three grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.
Services were held a Hoover Funeral Home Inc., Elizabethville, on Wednesday, Feb. 25. Interment was in St. John's Lutheran Church cemetery, Berrysburg.

Robert T. O'Brien
Robert T. O'Brien, 56, of Tower City, died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2004, at the home of his daughter, Anita M. Carl of Tower City.
He was of the Protestant faith.
Surviving in addition of his daughter, are his son, Robert T. II of Tower City; another daughter, Annette O'Brien of Williamstown; his former wife and friend, Jacqueline Cook of Tower City; two brothers; two sisters; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services were held on Saturday, Feb. 28, in the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Homes, Inc., Tower City. Dimon Funeral Homes, Inc., Tower City, was in charge of arrangements.
Claire E.Merkey
Claire E. Merkey, 83, of Pine Grove, died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2004, at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.
Born in Ravine, February 25, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Clarence M. and Sallie R. Herring Lengel.
She retired as an aide for handicapped children at Charles Bush School in the Brandywine School District, Claymont, Del., and worked five years in the Wilson School District, Sinking Spring.
She was a member of Salem Reformed Church, Bethel, a 50-year member of Order of Eastern Star of Womelsdorf Lodge F&M; , and a member of Pine Grove Senior Citizens.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Leah Schneck, Pearl Olt, Hilda Kleinfelter and Elva Lengel; a brother, Walter Lengel.
Surviving are her husband of 66 years, Carl Z.; a son, Dale of Virginia Beach, Va.; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Thelma G. Lenker
Thelma G. Lenker, 82, of Lenkervillle, died Sunday, Feb. 21, 2004, at the Susquehanna Lutheran Village, Millersburg.
She was retired from AMP, Inc. and was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Millersburg. She was a Past President of Millersburg Civic Club; Past Worthy Matron of Millersburg Chapter No. 326 Order of the Eastern Star, now the Glen Chapter No. 425 O.E.S.; Royal Patron of Millersburg Court No. 134 Order of the Amaranth; a member of Bethany Shrine No. 7, Daughters of the Nile; Zembo Temple No. 52; and a member of the American Business Women's Associa-tion.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold N. Lenker.
She is survived by nieces and nephews.
Funeral services and Order of the Eastern Star services were held on Thursday, Feb. 26, at Hoover Funeral Homes, Inc., Millersburg. Interment was in Oak Hill cemetery, Millersburg.

Edith M. Latsha
Edith Mae Latsha, 90, of Pillow, died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2004, at Manor Care, Sunbury.
Born September 9, 1913, she was a daughter of the late Lewis and Mary Schreffler Snyder.
She was a graduate of Empire Beauty School, Sunbury, and a retired self-employed beautician. She was a member of Salem Zion Church, Pillow; and the Order of the Eastern Star, Lykens.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Lee, James, Dorie, and Charles Snyder; and by two sisters, Ellen Bohner, and Florence Feger.
Surviving are her husband of 63 years, Paul W. Latsha; a brother, Marlin Snyder of Shamokin Dam; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 26, from the James A. Reed Funeral Home, Pillow, with the Rev. J. Robert Snyder officiating. Interment was in Grandview cemetery, Pillow. James A. Reed Funeral Home, Pillow, was in charge of arrangements.
Shirley A. Kline
Shirley A. Kline, 66, of Millersburg, died Monday, Feb. 23, 2004, at Harrisburg Hospital.
Born in Millersburg, she was a daughter of the late Allen and Iva Lenker Page.
She worked as an arts and crafts director for the military while her husband Henry, was serving in the U.S. Air Force.
Surviving are her husband, Henry W. Kline; a son, Kenneth of Millersburg; two daughters, Corinne Buckler of Berrysburg and Brenda Buckler of Tower City; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services were held on Monday, March 1, at Hoover Funeral Home in Millersburg. Interment was in Indiantown Gap National cemetery. Hoover Funeral Home in Millersburg was in charge of arrangements.
