Helen S. Noll
Helen S. Noll, 89, of Tower City, died Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at the Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, Pottsville.
Born in Sheridan on September 30, 1914, she was a daughter of the late William and Amanda Shomper Kopp.

She was a retired seamstress from the garment industry and was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Tower City.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin in 1982; four brothers, Oliver, Mark and George Kopp and Harry Thompson; and four sisters, Cora Hand, Doris Bressler, Verna Schylaske and Gertie Barnhardt.

Surviving are nieces and nephews.

Services were held on Saturday, March 27, from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Homes, Inc., Tower City, with the Rev. Linda Bonfiglio officiating. Interment was in Greenwood cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to her church, E. Grand Avenue, Tower City, PA 17980. Dimon Funeral Homes, Inc., Tower City, was in charge of arrangements.

Levi K. Smucker
Levi K. Smucker, 44, of RR 1 Paxinos, died Friday, March 26, 2004, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born in Lancaster, June 10, 1959, he was a son of Abner and Sadie King Smucker of New Holland.

He was a self employed farmer in the RD Dalmatia area; and a Minister in the Old Order Amish faith.

He was preceded in death by a son, James.

Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife, Esther Mae Beiler Smucker; four sons, Daniel, Joseph, Levi, Jr., and Wilmer, all at home; three daughters, Sadie Ruth, Elizabeth, and Martha, all at home; four brothers, Samuel and David, both of New Holland, Abner, Jr. of Strasburg, and Eli of Kinzer; four sisters, Katie Beiler of RR New Holland, Lydia Fisher of Runkss, Miriam Stolzfus of Strasburg, and Linda Smucker of East Earl; and his maternal grandparents, Levi E. and Rebecca King of Gordonville.

Religious services were held Monday, March 30, at his residence. Interment was in Zook's cemetery, RR Dalmatia.

James A. Reed Funeral Home, Pillow, was in charge of arrangements.

Milton W. Spancake
Milton W. Spancake, 90, of Pine Grove, died Friday, March 26, 2004, at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.
Born in Roedersville, September 29, 1913, he was a son of the late C. Milton and Cora Roeder Spancake.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving as a boatswain's mate second class on the NTS Sampson, New York, ATB Camp Bradford, Virginia, and the USS LST 554.

He worked as a coal miner.

He was a member of Salem Hetzel's United Church of Christ, Pine Grove, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3432, Pine Grove, Friedensburg Fish & Game and Roedersville Game & Fish.

He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Pauline M. Zimmerman, on July 13, 1996; a sister, Alma Hummel; five brothers, Norman, Sidney, Arthur, Mason and Earl.

Surviving are two sons, Merlin and Carl, both of the Pine Grove area; two daughters, Joan Fessler and Carol Hummel, both of the Pine Grove area; two sisters, Lillian Doss and Ruth Madenford, both of the Pine Grove area; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 30, from H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, with the Rev. William A. Pifer-Foote officiating. Interment was in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, was in charge of arrangements.

Susan I. Warfield
Susan Isabella Warfield, 85, of Halifax, died Thursday, March 25, 2004, at Susquehanna Lutheran Village in Millersburg.
She was born in Halifax, the daughter of the late Oscar and Mary Ellen Dreibelbis Seagrist.

She graduated from Halifax High School and Elizabethtown College. She taught school at Elizabeth Twp. in Lancaster county for three years and retired from the Halifax Area School District, after 33 years of teaching.

She was a member of the Valley's UCC in Halifax; Millersburg Order of Amaranth Court No. 134; Halifax Senior Citizens; Elizabethville Senior Citizens; Farm Women Group No. 11; Patriotic Order of Americans; PA Association of School Retirees; life member of Halifax Historical Society; Halifax Alumni Association; Dauphin County Association of School Retirees; Gratz Historical Society and past president of Halifax Garden Club.

She was the widow of Delmar H. Warfield.

Surviving are three nieces; Alice Funk and Joyce Snyder, both of Halifax and Frances Kennedy of Crestview, FL and a nephew, William Seagrist of Greenville, SC.

Services were held on Monday, March 29, at Hoover Funeral Home, Inc., Elizabethville. Interment was in Maple Grove cemetery, Elizabethville.

Memorial donations may be made to Valley's UCC, P.O. Box H Halifax, PA 17032. Hoover Funeral Home, Inc., Elizabethville, was in charge of arrangements.

Jeffrey L. Beard
Jeffrey L. Beard, 45, of Millersburg, died Monday, March 15, 2004, at the Hershey Medical Center.
Born in Harrisburg, he was a son of William Beard of Millersburg, who survives him, and his late mother, Anna Brown Beard.

He was a self-employed van driver.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Sandy Hoover and a brother, Ken.

Surviving in addition to his father, are his wife, Melanie O'Lone Beard of New Bloomfield; a son, Jeffrey, Jr., and a daughter, Kelsey, both at home; a brother, Paul of Millersburg; two sisters, Tracey Deibler of Elizabethton, TN and Dawn Dauberman of Williamstown.

Services were held on Friday, March 19, at the Millersburg Assembly of God Church. Interment was in Salem Lutheran cemetery, Killinger.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Millersburg Assembly of God Church, 2261 Shippen Dam Road, Millersburg, 17061. Hoover Funeral Homes, Millersburg, was in charge of arrangements.

Arthur E. Daubert
Arthur E. "Nutzer" Daubert, 73, of Pine Grove, died Wednesday, March 17, 2004, in his home.
Born on September 19, 1930 in Pine Grove, he was a son of the late LeRoy H. and Ruth E. Fegley Daubert, Sr.

He was a graduate of Pine Grove High School and was a member of St.

Peter's Lutheran Church, Pine Grove. He was a Korean Conflict Navy Veteran, having served as an electrician's Mate Fireman. He received the Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of the Jonestown American Legion Post 883, The Valley View VFW. He was an active member of the Pine Grove Fish & Game Association, a member of the Hose Hook & Ladder Fire Co. No. 1, Pine Grove, the Mt. Etna Fire Co., the Valley View Fire Co. and the Valley View Gun Club.

He was employed as an electrician at the New Cumberland Army Depot.

He was preceded in death by a brother, LeRoy H. Daubert.

Surviving are a sister, Mildred M. Roth of Pine Grove; and nieces and nephews.

Memorial services were held on Monday, March 22, from the H.L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., Pine Grove, with Dr. Richard W. Schoenleber officiating. Interment was in the Indiantown Gap National cemetery, Annville.

Memorial donations may be made to the Hose Hook & Ladder Fire Co., No. 1, 1 Orchard Street, Pine Grove, PA 17963. H.L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., Pine Grove, was in charge of arrangements.

Annmarie M. Giuliani
Annmarie M. Giuliani, 63, of Wiconisco, died Wednesday, March 17, 2004, at the Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, Pottsville.
Born in Pottsville, July 9, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Anna Ragzinsky McKendry.

She was a retired Teachers Aide with the Williams Valley Elementary School District and with the Dauphin County I.U. program.

She was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church, Lykens. She was a member of the Tuesday morning bowling league.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Delores McIntosh.

Surviving are her husband, Lewis B., to whom she was married 32 years; a daughter, Laurann M. and a son, Charles A., both at home; a sister, Michelle Sierdzinski of the Poconos; two brothers, Dennis and David McKendry, both of Connellsville; and nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, March 22, from her church. Interment was in the Sacred Heart cemetery, Weston.

Memorial donations may be made to Wiconisco Alumni Scholarship Fund, c/o Dorothy Dietrich, 137 Big Run Road, Lykens, PA 17048 or the Wiconisco Fire Co., 110 Arch Street, Wiconisco, PA 17097. Dimon Funeral Homes, Inc., Tower City, was in charge of arrangements.

Jean M. Hoff
Jean M. Hoff, 76, of Tremont, died Saturday, March 20, 2004, at home.
Born in Tremont, October 27, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Mildred Reinhold Kohr.

She retired from the former Morris Manufacturing, Tremont.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Tremont.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, in 2000; a sister, Doris Kohr; a brother, Ernest Kohr.

Surviving are nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 24, from Minnig-Berger Funeral Home, Tremont. The Rev. Liddy Howard will officiate. Interment will be in St. John's Lutheran cemetery, Tremont. Minnig-Berger Funeral Home, Tremont, is in charge of arrangements.

Linda M. Koppenhaver
Linda M. Hammaker Koppenhaver, 65, of Millersburg, died Saturday, March 20, 2004, in the Harrisburg Hospital.
Born in Millersburg, November 17, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Lee F. and Thelma Hoffman Hammaker.

She was a retired nurses assistant for the Susquehanna Lutheran Village, Millersburg; was a former volunteer for the Millersburg Volunteer Home Care program; and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Rife.

Surviving are her husband, Robert S. Koppenhaver, at home; four sons, Royce L. Koppenhaver, Gregory P. Koppenhaver, and Kimberly A. Koppenhaver, all of Millersburg, and Brian L. Koppenhaver of Berrysburg; two daughters, Lisa C. Arnold of Loyalton, and Erica L. Schwartz of Halifax; four brothers, Robert Hammaker of Anaheim, CA, Daniel Hammaker, and Thompson Hammaker, both of Millersburg, and Michael Hammaker of Williamstown; three sisters, Nancy Wert, and Peggy Clouser, both of Millersburg, and Susan Cooper of Wiconisco; and eight grandchildren.

Services will be held at her church on Wednesday, March 24, at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Zion Lutheran Church cemetery, Rife. Viewing at the church on Wednesday morning from 10 to 11 a.m.

Memorial donations may be made to Childrens Resource Center, 2645 North Third Street, Harrisburg, PA 17110-2098 or World Surgical Foundation (WSF), P.O. Box 1006, Camp Hill, PA 17001. Hoover Funeral Home Inc., Millersburg, is handling the arrangements.

Anna R. Lehman
Anna R. Lehman, 89, of Pine Grove, died Sunday, March 14, 2004, in Pine Grove at the home of a daughter.
Born in Muir, March 23, 1914, she was a daughter of the late James R. and Mary E. Bressler Helt. She was a graduate of Porter High School.

She had been a sewing machine operator at the former Fox-Knapp Manufacturing Co., Pine Grove.

She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Pine Grove, and a former member of Pine Grove Senior Citizens.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen, who died on October 1, 1976; a sister, Ida Challenger; two brothers, Marvin and Lloyd Helt.

Surviving are a daughter, Roxanne Umbenhauer of Pine Grove; two sisters, Letitia Kniley of York, and Jean Grove of Pine Grove; two brothers, Robert Helt of Palmyra, and James Helt of Florida; two grandsons; two great-grandchildren.

Memorial service were held Wednesday, March 17, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Dr. Richard Schoenleber officiating. Interment was in Jacob's Lutheran cemetery, Pine Grove. H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, was in charge of arrangements.
