William T. J. Rubendall
William T. J. Rubendall, 76, of Tremont, died Monday, April 5, 2004, at the Pottsville Hospital and Warne Clinic.
Born in Williamstown, November 12, 1927, he was a son of the late George and Ruth Hamaker Rubendall.

He was retired from Swab's Wagon Co., Elizabethville.

He was preceded in death y a sister, Alma Coles; and a half-brother, Thompson Strait.

Surviving are two daughters, Janet Renninger, and Jean Long both of Bernville; a son, Dennis of Weishample; three brothers, Damon and Glen of Williamstown, and Lloyd of Palmyra; two grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 8, at 10 a.m. at Good Shepard Church in Gratz, with the Rev. Randy Sizemore officiating. Friends may call at the church on Thursday, from 9 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be in the Evangelical cemetery, Berrysburg.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Good Shepard Church in Gratz. The Minnig-Berger Funeral Home, Tremont, is in charge of arrangements.

Johnny L. Speer
Johnny L. Speer, 44, of Pottsville died Saturday, February 7, 2004, at the Pottsville Hospital.
Born on March 7, 1959 in Gulfport, Miss. he was a son of Lewis F. and Sandra L. Speer Merwine of R.D. Ashland.

Surviving in addition to his parents are four sons, Shawn Speer of Pottsville, John Speer of Schuylkill Haven, Kyle Speer of McAdoo, and Cody Speer of Hazelton; a daughter Alonna Speer of McAdoo; a brother Craig A Merwine of R.D. Ashland; two sisters Renee Daniel and Gail Neumeister both of Pottsville and a grand daughter.

Services were held Saturday, April 3, at Church of Christ in Christian Union, RD Ashland, with the Rev. John Clough officiating. Interment was in Church of Christ in Christian Union cemetery.

Memorial contributions to help with the funeral expenses may be made to the Gratz National Bank, P.O. Box 816, Valley View PA 17983. Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, was in charge of arrangements.

Dorothy A. Adams
Dorothy A. Adams, 80, of Hegins, formerly of Wiconisco, died Monday, March 22, 2004, at West Shore Health and Rehabilitation Center, Camp Hill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hayden and Julia Reedinger Klinger; her husband, George D. Adams; and a brother, Robert H. Klinger.

Surviving are a daughter, Connie L. Gilbert of Hegins; a son, David E. Adams of Spring Glen; a sister, Arlene Dietrich of Wiconisco; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Thursday, March 25, at the John R. Shultz Funeral Home, Lykens, with the Rev. Dennis O'Brien officiating. Interment was in Calvary Methodist cemetery, Wiconisco. John R. Shultz Funeral Home, Lykens, was in charge of arrangements.

Ellerslie H. Blyler
Ellerslie H. 'Butch' Blyler, 65, of Emerald Island, NC, formerly of Millersburg and Dillsburg, died Saturday, March 6, 2004, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, while on a cruise.
Born in Millersburg, he was a son of Bertha and Heister 'Pip' Blyler of Millersburg.

He taught for 20 years at Northern High School, Dillsburg, and for 10 years as the director of vocation education for the state of Pennsylvania. He retired to Emerald Island, NC.

Surviving are his companion, Anne Erikson; two sons, David of North Carolina, and Todd of Virginia; a sister, Barbara Troutman of Pillow; and two grandsons.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 3, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Millersburg.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Blyler Memorial Fund Shepherd by the Sea Lutheran Church, 201 East Fort Macon Rd., Box 819 Atlantic Beach, NC 28512. James A. Reed Funeral Home, Pillow, is in charge of arrangements.

Dean O. Bobb
Dean "Dick" Orville Bobb, 74, of Herndon, died Friday, March 26, 2004, at his home.
Born in Herndon, July 19, 1929, he was a son of the late William C. and Tamie E. Bohner Bobb.

He was a retired Master Sgt. from the US Air Force. He was of the Protestant faith. He was a member of the American Legion Alvin E. Long Post 504; the Herndon Fire Company; and the Dalmatia Fire Company.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bruce and Marlin; and by three sisters; Katherine Snyder, Jane Steckel, and Dorothy Snyder.

Surviving are two sons, Stuart D. Bobb of Millersburg, and Stephen J. Bobb of Ephrata; and two brothers, William O. Bobb of Reading, and Ned O. Bobb of Allentown.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 31, from the James A. Reed Funeral Home, Pillow, with the Rev. Daniel Busch officiating. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday, from 10 to 11 a.m. Interment will be in the Herndon cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Herndon Fire Co., Herndon, PA 17830. James A. Reed Funeral Home, Pillow, was in charge of arrangements.

Helen A. Ceton
Helen A. Ceton, 89, of Pitman, died Saturday, March 27, 2004, at Friendly Nursing Home, Pitman.
Born in Pitman, September 23, 1914, she was a daughter of the late Henry H. and Mina Evans Maurer. She was educated in Pitman area schools.

She was a retired factory worker and became a licensed practical nurse while living in the Boyertown area.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Leon R. Snyder, who died on November 3, 1967; her second husband, Klaas "Nic" Ceton, who died on August 3, 1989; two sisters, Maude Scheib and Florence Maurer; three brothers, Robert C., Jay and Paul Maurer.

Surviving are nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday morning at Zion Evangelical Church cemetery, Pitman. The Rev. Kenneth Schira will officiate. Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, Klingerstown, is in charge of arrangements.

Florence M. Faber
Florence M. Faber, 76, of Millersburg, died Tuesday, March 23, 2004, at Grayson View in Harrisburg.
Born in Dornsife, she was a daughter of the late Herbert Feger and Nora Kahler Feger who survives her, of Dornsife.

She retired from the former Puritan fashions in Millersburg. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the Millersburg Garden Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack L. Faber.

Surviving in addition to her mother are two daughters, Sandra Weaver and Deborah Kurtz, both of Millersburg; a son, David of Halifax; two sisters, Elda Umholtz of Valley View and Ethel Karterman of Klingerstown; three brothers, Marlin Feger of Selinsgrove, Boyd Feger of Dalmatia, Robert Feger of Dornsife; and two granddaughters.

Memorial services were held on Monday, March 29, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Millersburg. Interment was in Oak Hill cemetery, Millersburg.

Memorial contributions may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 100 E. Brown Street, Suite 23, Middletown, PA 17057 or to her church. Hoover Funeral Homes, Inc., Millersburg, was in charge of arrangements.

Mary Catherine Flynn
Mary Catherine Flynn, 61, of Tower City, died Saturday, March 27, 2004, at home.
Born in Pottsville, March 5, 1943, she was a daughter of Mary V. McAuliffe Fetterhoff, Tower City, and the late Earl E. Fetterhoff. She was a 1961 graduate of the former Williamstown Catholic High School.

She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, Williamstown, Liberty Hose Company No. 1 Auxiliary, Williamstown, and a social member of American Legion Post 239, Williamstown.

Surviving, in addition to her mother, are her husband of 39 years, William C.; a son, William E., New Holland; a daughter, Anne Marie and her husband Paul Dimon, Tower City; a sister; two grandsons, Jared and Spencer Dimon; aunts; uncles; cousins; nieces; nephews; and many cherished friends.

Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday, March 30, from Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, with the Rev. Tri Luong officiating. Interment was in the parish cemetery. Dimon Funeral Homes Inc., Tower City, was in charge of arrangements.

Ira E. Koppenhaver
Ira Elvin "Brownie" Koppenhaver, 83, of Hegins, died Saturday, March 27, 2004, at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, Pottsville.
Born in Spring Glen, January 6, 1921, he was a son of the late Ira C. and Ida E. Schwalm Koppenhaver.

He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.

He owned the former Koppy's Service Station, Hegins, until retirement.

He was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Hegins, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8237, Valley View, and Hegins Fire Company.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Warren, Ernest and Daniel Koppenhaver; three sisters, Ruby Reppert, Arlene Wise and Mary Artz.

Surviving are his wife of 54 years, the former Betty J. Miller; two brothers, Calvin C., Duncannon, and Ceylon L., Hamburg; a sister, Anna Ward, Linglestown; nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 31, from Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, with the Rev. Warren I. Egebo officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Friedens cemetery, Hegins.

Memorial donations may be made to the Hegins Area Ambulance Association, Valley View, PA 17983, or to the Hegins Fire Company, Hegins, PA 17938. Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, is in charge of arrangements.

Pearl E. Maurer
Pearl Elnora Maurer, 89, of RD Hegins, died Sunday, March 28, 2004, in the Brandywine Hospital, Chester.
Born in Weishample, February 13, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Maude Kessler Klinger. She was a 1933 graduate of the former Hegins Twp. High School.

She was a retired seamstress from the former Philmark Manufacturing, Valley View; and she and her late husband operated a family farm.

She was a member of the Church of God, Valley View; and the Tri-Valley Senior Citizens.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Maurer, who died in 1989; a son, Richard; five brothers, Allen, Gurney, Stanley, Calvin, and Clair Klinger; and three sisters, Irene Ludwig, Laura Kissinger, and Dora Ebert.

Surviving are two sons, Ronald of Corning, NY, and Roger of Lancaster; a daughter, Susan Englebert of Elverson; a sister, Verna Shuey of Mt. Joy; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Religious services will be held Thursday, April 1, at 11 a.m. at the Church of God, Valley View, with the Rev. Gerald Frey officiating. Viewing will be Thursday morning from 9 to 11 a.m. Interment will be in the Church of God cemetery, Valley View. Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, is in charge of arrangements.

Margaret R. Minnichbach
Margaret R. Minnichbach, 86, formerly of Tremont, died Saturday, March 27, 2004, at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, Pottsville.
Born in Branchdale, November 16, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Brennan.

She retired from the former Fox-Knapp Manufacturing, Pine Grove.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Tremont.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester J., in 1991; several brothers and sisters.

Surviving are a son, Thomas J., Pine Grove; a sister, Cecelia Mora, North Wales; a brother, Robert Brennan, Philadelphia; two grandsons; and three great-granddaughters.

Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday, March 30, from Immaculate Conception Church, with the Rev. Michael Ahrensfield officiating. Interment was in Indiantown Gap National cemetery, Annville. Minnig-Berger Funeral Home, Tremont, was in charge of arrangements.

Lisa E. Morgan
Lisa E. Morgan, 37, of HCR ManorCare in Chambersburg, formerly of Millersburg, died Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at ManorCare.
She had worked as a nurses aide at Susquehanna Lutheran Village in Millersburg.

Surviving are a daughter, Amber Morgan Seiler of Hazleton; her father, Ronald Morgan of Millersburg; a step-brother, Robert Quigley of Millersburg; and a step-sister, Cheryl Yeater of Coaldale.

Memorial services were held on Monday, March 29, at Hoover Funeral Home, Millersburg. Interment was in Riverview Memorial Gardens, Halifax.
