Linnet M. Miller
Linnet Marie Miller, 95, formerly of Tremont, died Monday, June 28, 2004, at Spangcrest Manor, Lebanon.
Born in Fearnot, November 7, 1908, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Carrie Wagner. She was a graduate of Tremont High School.
She was employed at the former Schwalm's Bakery, Tremont, as a confectioner, and also at the former Bessie Carl's Millinery, Tremont, as a milliner.
She was a life member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Tremont.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Peter Miller, in 1992; an infant son, Charles; a sister, Mary Ritzman; and a brother, John Wagner.
Surviving are a son, Dr. Claude of Cleona; two granddaughters; a niece and five nephews.
Services were held Friday, July 2, from Minnig-Berger Funeral Home, Tremont, with the Rev. Steve Gribble officiating. Interment was in St. Peter's United Methodist Cemetery, Fearnot. Minnig-Berger Funeral Home, Tremont, was in charge of arrangements.
Edna H. Keim
Edna H. Keim, 84, formerly of RR1 Dornsife, died Friday, July 2, 2004, at Fairmount Homes, Ephrata.
Born in Leck Kill, February 26, 1920, she was a daughter of the late George E. and Sarah Kahler Brown. She was a 1938 graduate of Pine Park High School, Leck Kill.
She was previously employed by the former Dalmatia Blouse Factory, Dalmatia, the former Creative Playthings, Herndon, and later at the Friendly Nursing Home, Pitman, until her retirement.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Leck Kill, where she had been a former adult and children's Sunday school teacher, a former Bible school teacher, and a former member of the Lutheran Church Women. She had also been a former member of the Mahantongo Valley Senior Citizens of Pitman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond G. Keim, on September 12, 1995; a son, Marvin G. Keim, on December 7, 1981; an infant daughter, in 1953, and a brother, Earl J. Brown, on March 25, 2003.
Surviving are three sons, Paul R. of Klingerstown, Kenneth F. of Ephrata, and David L. of Dornsife; a brother, Lester Brown of Lititz; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 6, from St. John's Lutheran Church, Leck Kill, with the Rev. Michael Ware officiating. Interment was in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Leck Kill. Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, Klingerstown, was in charge of arrangements.
Gloria R. Huratiak
Gloria R. Huratiak, 72, of Tower City, died Saturday, June 26, 2004, at Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon.
She was born in Wiconisco.
She retired as a payroll supervisor from Indiantown Gap Military Reservation, Annville.
She was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 1603.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul J. "Hatrack."
Surviving are a son, Gene L. of Tower City; a daughter, JoDee A. Speck of Lebanon; a brother, George Coles; a sister, Joyce Stuppy of Lykens; and two grandchildren.

Randall F. Gessner
Randall F. Gessner, 52, of RR 1, Dornsife, died Monday, June 28, 2004, at his home.
Born June 28, 1952, he was a son of Mark L. and Margaret A. Latsha Gessner of Leck Kill.
He was a 1970 graduate of Line Mountain High School, Herndon, and a 1975 graduate of West Chester State University with a BS degree in health education. He was a self-employed dental technician at RR 1, Dornsife.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Leck Kill.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a son, Joshua D. Gessner of West Chester; his former wife, Debra J. Gessner of West Chester; two sisters, Gayle M. Folgner of RR 1, Dornsife, and Judith A. White of RR 1, Dalmatia; and a brother, Duane M. Gessner of Leck Kill.
Memorial services were held July 25, at Lenker's Grove along the Mahantongo Creek, near the village of Malta, with the Rev. Michael Ware officiating.

Jay W. Bushong
Jay W. Bushong, 62, of Millersburg, died Saturday, June 26, 2004, at the Harrisburg Hospital.
He was born in Atlantic City. He was a former PA State trooper for 10 years and had worked for Metal Industries. He also had a degree in fine art and owned his own art galley. He was a member of the Millersburg Art Assoc. and Ned Smith Center for Nature and Art. He was Army veteran of Vietnam War.
Surviving are his daughter Jennifer Bushong and his ex-wife Alice Bushong.
Services will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at the convenience of his loved ones. Hoover Funeral Homes, Millersburg, was in charge of arrangements.
Edward L. Allison, Jr.
Edward L. Allison, Jr., 62, of Halifax died Monday June 21, 2004, at his residence.
Born in Harrisburg he was a son of Edward Allison, Sr. of Harrisburg and the late Ruth Himmelreich Allison.
He retired from the Commonwealth of PA.
Surviving in addition to his father are his wife Eileen A. Washinger Allison son Robert of Millersburg; two daughters Anita Reisinger of Newport and Sandra Bengel of Lenoir City, TN; a brother Allen of Camp Hill; two sisters Kim Cruz of Middletown and Viola Finnicum of Philadelphia; five grandchildren.
Memorial services were held on Thursday June 24, at Jacob's U.M. Church, Halifax, R.D.

Ethel A. Alvord, 76, of Millersburg, died Friday, June 25, 2004, at her residence.
Born in Wiconisco, she was a daughter of the late John and Mrytle Hoffman Osman.
She was a retired sales clerk from Sears.
She was the widow of Donald O. Alvord.
Surviving are a daughter, Virginia Alvord Clark of Tacoma, WA; four brothers, Edward Osman of Harrisburg, Eugene Osman of Keystone, CO, Donald Osman of Camp Hill, and Jay Osman of Landisburg; two sisters, Joan Stahl of Gilford, CT and Carole Jordan of Lock Haven.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, July 1, 2004 at 10:30 a.m., at Hoover Funeral Home in Millersburg. Interment will be in Calvary U.M. Cemetery, Wiconisco. No viewing or visitation.

Nancy I. Deiter
Nancy I. Deiter, 67, formerly of Tower City and Lykens, died Thursday, June 24, 2004, at Hershey Medical Center.
Born in Clarks Valley, December 15, 1936, she was a daughter of the late John and Susan Adams Deiter.
She was a retired seamstress from the garment industry.
Surviving are two daughters, Marie A. Trayer of Williamstown, and Sherry L. Romberger of Tower City; a son, Nathan J. Michaels of Williamstown; a sister, Elsie Klingman of Auburn; and five grandchildren.
Services were private. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery, Tower City.

Dorothy L. Erdman
Dorothy L. Erdman, 75, of Gratz died Thursday, June 24, 2004, at Polyclinic Hospital, Harrisburg.
Born in Wiconisco, she was a daughter of the late Hayden and Helen Houtz Bateman.
She was a member of Good Shepherd Evangelical Congregational Church, Gratz.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clair J. Erdman.
Surviving are a son, David H. Erdman of Halifax; two daughters, Donna L. Meyers of Millersburg and Lori A. Campbell of Elizabethville; two sisters, Marion Baddorf and Mildred Row, both of Wiconisco; and 13 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 28, at Good Shepherd Evangelical Congregational Church, Gratz, with the Rev. Randall L. Sizemore officiating. Interment was in Calvary United Methodist Cemetery, Wiconisco.

James J. Heckert Sr.
James J. Heckert Sr., 83, of Millersburg, Dauphin County, died Tuesday, June 22, 2004, at the Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.
Born in Millersburg, December 6, 1920, he was a son of the late Emory E. and Carrie Schuckler Heckert.
He was a member of the Navy, having served in WWII.
He attended West Chester Teachers College.
He was employed for 35 years as a telephone installer for Bell Telephone of Pennsylvania until his retirement.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Harle; and three sisters, Beatrice Huntzinger, Catherine Maurer and Pearl Boyer.
Surviving are his wifeof 57 years, the former Helen M. Freas; a son, James J. of Herndon.
A religious service was held Friday, June 25, at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, with the Rev. George Reynolds officiating.

Catharine R. Hoffman
Catharine R. Hoffman, 89, of Halifax, died Saturday, June 26, 2004, at her home.
Born February 20, 1915 in Dalmatia, she was a daughter of the late Daniel Heckert and Mary Edna Witmer Heckert.
She graduated from the former Lykens Valley High School, Berrysburg. She was a retired homemaker from Homemaker Services, Harrisburg; a member of Zion 'Stone' United Methodist Church, Halifax; and a member of Millersburg Senior Citizens.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clair Wilbur Hoffman, who died on January 20, 1964.
Surviving are two daughters, Mary Catharine Willow of Halifax, and Darlene Dolly Ludwig of Newville; a son, Edgar Eugene Hoffman of Manheim; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Religious service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 1, at Zion United Methodist Church, Halifax. Friends are invited to call on Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in Long's Cemetery, Halifax.
