Dennis E. Shearer
Dennis E. Shearer, 60, of Halifax died Sunday, March 6, 2005, at Harrisburg Hospital.
He worked as a inspector at Chromalloy in Harrisburg.
Surviving are his wife of 40 years Darlene M. Bixler Shearer, a daughter, Teena M. Shearer of Duncannon; a son, Dennis K. Shearer of Halifax; a brother, George Shearer of Millersburg; two sisters Dolly Lopez of Harrisburg and Anna Mae Gazette of York; a granddaughter, Ashley Isenberg, and two grandsons Justin and Christopher Isenberg all of Newport.
Memorial services were held Thursday, March 10, at Hoover Funeral Homes, Inc., Millersburg. Hoover Funeral Homes, Inc., Millersburg, was in charge fo arrangements.
Joel R. Snyder
Joel Robert Snyder, 56, of Hegins, died Friday, March 11, 2005, at home.
Born in Spring Glen, May 6, 1948, he was a son of Robert L. and Agnes M. Daniels Snyder of Spring Glen. He was a 1967 graduate of Tri-Valley High School.
He retired as a material technician for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
He was a member of St. Matthew "Coleman's" United Church of Christ, Spring Glen, Valley View Fire Company and Valley View Gun Club.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; an infant daughter; and two infant sisters.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are two brothers, Merl L. of Tremont, and Samuel T. of Spring Glen; a sister, Holly D. Kaster of Spring Glen; several step-children; two nieces and a nephew.
Graveside memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family at St. Matthew's "Coleman's" Cemetery, Spring Glen. The Rev. Curtis H.E. Zemencik will officiate. Anna E. Travitz
Anna E. "Dis" Travitz, 78, of Williamstown, died Wednesday, March 9, 2005, at her home.
Born in Williamstown, Oct. 5, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Minnie Jones Shuttlesworth.
She and her husband were the owners of the former Travitz's Midtown Bakery and Market in Williamstown.
She was a 1944 graduate of Williamstown High School.
She was a member of Williamstown United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by a brother Ray Shuttlesworth; two sisters, Jean Reiber and Violet Stiner.
Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Paul O.; two daughters, Gail E. Travitz of Williamstown, and Judy A. Nunemacher of Millersburg; three brothers, Joseph Shuttlesworth of Palmyra, Ralph "Ice" and James Shuttlesworth, both of Williamstown; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 14, from her church with the Rev. Elizabeth Whitehead officiating. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery.

Keith C. Yoder
Keith Charles Yoder, 50, of Mabel, Barry Twp., died as the result of an auto accident, Sunday, Nov. 28, 2005, on Rt. 61, in West Brunswick Twp.
Born in Pottsville, Oct. 11, 1954, he was a son of Evelyn Kimmel Yoder Carl of Mabel, and the late Charles S. Yoder.
He was a 1972 graduate of Tri-Valley High School and a 1974 graduate of Stevens Trade School, Lancaster.
Following trade school he worked at Raudenbush Bakery, Ashland. He was last employed at Richmond Screw and Anchor, Tremont, where he served as Vice President and Shop Steward of the local United Steelworkers Union.
He was President of the Schuylkill County Labor Council. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited; the North American Hunting Club; Wildlife Forever; the Valley View Gun Club; and the Lower Northumberland Gun Club.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Mary H. Herman Yoder; a daughter, Melissa Yoder in 1981; and by his step father "John" Raymond E. Carl in 1992.
Surviving in addition to mother, are his wife of 21 years, Frances A. Dugan; a son Bryan K. Yoder of Girardville; a daughter Barbara A. Dugan of Hazelton; two brothers Craig E. Carl of Coal Twp., and Rodney R. Carl of Hegins; two sisters Brenda L. Soto of Arnots Addition, and Lori A. Raup of Ashland; a grandson; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Interment was made at the convenience of the family in Salem Cemetery, Weishample. Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, was in charge of arrangements.
Pauline M. Dinger
Pauline M. Dinger, 87, formerly of Donaldson, died Saturday, March 5, 2005, at Sanatoga Manor, Pottstown.
Born in Donaldson, April 25, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Kathryn Koppenhaver Morgan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy G., in 1995; eight brothers and sisters.
Surviving are a daughter, Shirley Overholtzer of Pottstown; a son, Donald of Royersford; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, from Minnig-Berger Funeral Home, Tremont. The Rev. Mary Lou Eckels will officiate. Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Paul's United Church of Christ Cemetery, Sacramento. Janice A. Hoke
Janice A. Harmon Hoke, 68, of Lower Paxton Twp., formerly of Williamstown, died Friday, March 4, 2005, at Community General Osteopathic Hospital.
Born in Pottsville, Oct. 22, 1936 she was a daughter of the late Allen and Lillian Wolfe Harmon.
She graduated from Williamstown High School and was a member of the National Honor Society. She worked and retired from AMP, Inc., after 33 years of service.
She was preceded in death by a son, James A. Hoke, Sr.
Surviving are her husband of 48 years, James W. Hoke; a brother, George A. Harmon of San Antonio, TX; a grandson, James A. Hoke, Jr.; a great-granddaughter, Bailey DeEtta Hoke; two aunts, Mary Zimmerman of Pine Grove, and Verna George of Lykens.
A memorial service will be held Thursday morning, March 10, at 10 a.m., in Hoover Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., Linglestown. A time of visitation will be held Thursday morning from 9:30-10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery, Elizabethville.

Nancy I. King, 58, of Elizabethville, formerly of Millersburg, died Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at the Community General Osteopathic Hospital, Harrisburg.
Born in Wiconisco, December 5, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Ray and Evelyn Shiley Kemrer.
She was a past member of Welsey U.M. Church, Wiconisco.
She was preceded in death by a son, Steven Kemrer and sister, Rose Kemrer.
Surviving are her husband, Donald R. King; two daughters, Heather M. Clouser of Lykens, and Amanda M. Leal of Vacaville, CA; two sons, Rodney D. of Millersburg, and Brian D. of Elizabethville; six sisters, Thelma Klahre of Halifax, Linda Kemrer of Carsonville, Debra Lathrop of Vancouver, WA., Kay Riggs and Laura Grubb both of Portland, OR., and Patty Shaffer of Bisbee, AZ; five brothers, Terry Shiley of Lynden, WA.; Dale Kemrer of Shermansdale.; Larry Kemrer of Vancouver, WA.; Jay Kemrer of Halifax.; Stanley Kemrer of Billings, MT.; three grandchildren; two step-granddaughters; and a step-great-granddaughter.
Service's were held at Straws Church, Halifax, Friday, March 4, with the Rev. Ed D'agostino officiating. Interment was at Straw's Church Cemetery, Halifax.

Gertrude C. Shuler
Gertrude C. Shuler, 88, of Millersburg, died Wednesday, March 2, 2005, at Susquehanna Lutheran Village, Millersburg.
Born in Liverpool, November 19, 1916, she was a daughter of the late H.A.S. and Elizabeth Leffler Shuler.
She was a graduate of Liverpool High and Shippensburg University with a B.S. in elementary education. She taught for four years in Liverpool Twp. School and retired after 39 years teaching in the Millersburg Area School District. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, where she served on the Administrative Board; Finance Committee; pastor parish relations committee; lay member to conference; sang in the choir and was a former Sunday school teacher and Sunday school pianist; was a member of PSEA; PSER; Millersburg Ferryboat Assoc.; Millersburg and Upper Paxton Twp. Historical Society; National Republican Committee; PASR and DCPSAR.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary E. Wert.
Surviving are two nieces, Martha Wert Vasiliades of Fayetteville, NY and Christine Wert Carlyon of Orwigsburg; a great-niece, Jane Adams of Dillsburg; and a great-great-niece Rachel Adams of Dillsburg.
Memorial services were held Sunday, March 6, at First United Methodist Church, Millersburg with the Rev. Dr. James Bonsell officiating. Interment was in the Liverpool Cemetery.

John H. Witmer
John H. Witmer, 82, of Hershey, died Sunday, March 6, 2005, in the M. S. Hershey Medical Center.
Born October 20, 1922 in Pillow, he was a son of the late Wayne and Katie Engle Witmer.
He was a retired truck driver and a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Palmyra.
He was preceded in death by three sisters.
Surviving are his wife, Faye M. Snyder Witmer; two sons, Roger Witmer of Sugar Land, TX, and Kerry Witmer of Bluemont, VA; a daughter, Annette Mastrangelo of Palmyra; a brother, Kermit Witmer of Dalmatia; three sisters, Brenda Smeltz of Valley View, Betty Moore, and Dolly Davis, both of FL; four grandchildren, Andrew, Allison, Amy and Heather.
Services will be held Thursday, March 10, at 11 a.m., in the Hoover Funeral Home & Crematory, Route 422 and Lucy Avenue, Hershey. Visitation will be Thursday from 10-11 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be in the Hershey Cemetery.

Mildred N. Zimmerman
Mildred Naomi Zimmerman, 92, of Hegins, died Saturday, March 5, 2005, at Ashland Regional Medical Center, Fountain Springs.
Born in Valley View, Nov. 7, 1912, she was a daughter of the late William Henry and Rebecca Eva Kissinger Hoover.
She was a seamstress for the former Philmark Manufacturing Co., Valley View, for 44 years until her retirement.
She was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View, and the International Ladies Garment Workers Union, and a former member of Tri-Valley Senior Citizens.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis B., in 1975; a son, Richard E.; a brother, Charles Hoover; five sisters, Florence Green, Ruth Kimmel, Margaret Hoffman, Elda Evans and Blanche Felty.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, from Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View. The Rev. George S. Reynolds will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. There will be no viewing. Interment will be in Zions Cemetery, Pitman. Emma R. Adams
Emma R. Adams, 91, of RD, Sunbury, and a resident at Grayson View, Selinsgrove, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005, at Sunbury Community Hospital.
Born at RD, Dornsife, Sept. 4, 1913, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Rosie M. Hoffman Kahler.
She was educated in Washington Township schools. She was a retired employee of Puritan Fashions, Millersburg, retiring in 1978. She was a member of Himmel's Lutheran Church, Rebuck, and a former member of the Sunbury Senior Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard R. Adams, who died Aug. 21, 1980; a son, James Adams on Oct. 20, 1951; a stillborn infant daughter in 1951; two great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Sarah Adams; two sisters, Jennie Carl and Mary Drumheller; and five brothers, Benjamin, Howard, Claude, Robert, and Harry Kahler.
Surviving are three daughters, Bette Schreffler of York, Evelyn Harner of Sacramento, and Eleanor Newman of Sunbury; four sons, Mark Adams of Rebuck, Norman Adams of Sunbury, Ernest Adams of Millersville, and Vern Adams of Trevorton; two sisters, Nora Feger of RD, Dornsife, and Helen Wiest Specht of Northumberland; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be held Wednesday, March 2, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Himmel's Church, Rebuck, with the Rev. Frederick Faust and the Rev. Clair Shaffer officiating. Interment will be in Himmel's Cemetery, Rebuck.
