Lillian M. Deiter
Lillian M. Deiter, 80, of RR2 Northumberland died Thursday March 31, 2005, at ManorCare, Sunbury.
Born in RR Herndon, Jan. 31, 1925 she was a daughter of the late Willie A. and Lizzie F. Rebuck. She attended Pine Park High School.
She was a lifelong member of the Lutheran congregation of Himmel's Church, Rebuck; and a member of ISLL at Susquehanna University, Selinsgrove.
Before moving to Point Township, she and her husband owned and operated a 350-acre farm in the RR Dornsife area for 30 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, the Rev. Charles Herman to Allen J. Deiter, who died March 26; a sister, Anna E. Sigafoos; four brothers, William I., killed in the Korean War, Allen L., Ernest P. and Neal D. Rebuck.
Surviving are a daughter, Carol Smeltz of Snydertown; two sisters, Leah Kiehl and Evelyn Schwalm, both of RR Herndon; a brother Luke Rebuck of RR Dornsife; two granddaughters Christine Shemory of Sunbury and Leslie White of Lumberton, N.J.; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at United Lutheran Church, RR4 Sunbury. Interment was in the adjoining church cemetery.

Luther L. Koch
Luther Lamar Koch, 70, of Pine Grove, died Friday, April 8, 2005, at home.
Born in Rausch Creek, April 5, 1935, he was a son of the late Luther L. and Leda Boe Koch.
He had been employed as a forklift operator for Guilford Mills and the former Gold Mills, Pine Grove, for more than 35 years.
He was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Pine Grove.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 33 years, the former Connie I. Fake, on Oct. 28, 2004.
Surviving are a daughter, Lou Ann Keefer of Pine Grove; three sons, Jamie of Pine Grove, Jeff of Auburn, and Jody of Newtown; three grandchildren; a brother, Barry of Tremont; and a sister, Carol Pizzico of Minersville.

Carl D. L. Lenker
Carl D. L. Lenker, 77, of Halifax, died Tuesday, April 5, 2005, at the Harrisburg Hospital.
Born in Elizabethville, April 27, 1927, he was a son of the late Frederick Lenker and Rachel Lebo Lenker Romberger.
He was a lifetime member of Salem United Church of Christ, Elizabethville and was a former church Sunday school secretary. He was a retired Track Supervisor for Conrail, in Sunbury, Northumberland County.
He had served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Elizabethville American Legion, Post No. 404.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Naomi Yerges Lenker; and two brothers, W. Dean Lenker and Guy Romberger.
Surviving are two daughters, Jane Lenker and Anita Dauberman, both of Halifax; and granddaughter, Elissa Dauberman of Halifax.
Graveside services were held Friday, April 8, at Maple Grove Cemetery, Elizabethville, with Rev. Cathy Hinman officiating.

Adam J. Schickley
Adam J. Schickley, 19, of Millersburg, died Monday, April 4, 2005, in Halifax Twp., as a result of an accident.
Born in Harrisburg, December 15, 1985, he was a son of Allen L. Schickely, Sr., of Millersburg and Bonnie E. Enders Kern of Halifax.
He graduated in 2004 from Dauphin County Vo-Tech Auto Body Repair. He worked as a CNC operator at Alvord-Polk Tool Co. in Millersburg. He attended Matamoras Community Church. He played semi-pro football for North Penn Energy.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, James Cessna; step paternal grandparents, Adda and Eugene Schoffstall.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his step-mother, Criss Schickley and step-father, Tom Kern; brother, Allen L. Schickley, Jr., of Millersburg; sister, Brooke E. Kern of Halifax; step-sisters, Faith N. Kern of Etters, Angela Hosterman, Lori Miller and Jessica Goudy all of Millersburg; paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Delores Schickley of Shamokin; maternal grandmother, Joanne Cessna of Troy; and step-maternal grandparents, Paul and Sally Kern of New Cumberland.
Services were held Friday, April 8th, at Matamoras Community Church, Halifax, with Rev. Philip Kneier officiating. Interment was at Riverview Memorial Gardens Halifax.

Rita J. Snyder
Rita Jane Snyder, 70, of Lykens, died Monday, April 4, 2005, at home after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.
Born in Lykens, Aug. 12, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Ceylon and Miriam Pinkerton Minnich. She attended Lykens elementary and junior high schools and Berrysburg High School. Later in life, she earned her GED.
She was formerly employed by Nedrich and Gordon Peters, Elizabethville.
She was a member of Lykens United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Kenneth Lamar Snyder, who died Nov. 4, 2001.
Surviving are a son, Dwan Snyder of Big Run; a daughter, Jill Chubb of RR1 Thompsontown; three sisters, Judy Zimmerman of RD Williamstown, Linda Aukstakanis of Williamstown; and Dawn Reho of RD Williamstown; three brothers, Dave Minnich of RD Williamstown, Michael Minnich of RD Millersburg, and Jack Minnich of Gratz; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Friday, April 9, at Lykens United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Keith J. Schmuck officiating. Interment was in Maple Grove Cemetery, Elizabethville.

Lynn V.G. Stump
Lynn V.G. Stump, 79, of Pine Grove, died Saturday, April 9, 2005, at home.
Born in Washington Township, April 13, 1925, he was a son of the late Gordon and Annie Hughes Stump.
He had worked as a farmer and part-time miner.
He was a member of Schuylkill Church of the Brethren, Pine Grove.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Julian, Stanley, Ammon and Raymond P.; a sister, Helen Zimmerman.
Surviving are a brother, Roy of Schuylkill Haven; a sister Minerva Bashore of Jonestown; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, from H. L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove. The Rev. Calvin Roop will officiate. Melvin A. Young
Melvin A. Young, 89, of Pottsville, formerly of Pine Grove, died Wednesday, April 6, 2005, at home.
Born in Minersville, June 20, 1915, he was a son of the late Milton H. and Mariam Sherry Young.
He was the husband of the late Marion Wallace Young, who died Nov. 3, 1991.
He retired as a maintenance and boiler man with Omnova.
He was a member of Evangelical United Methodist Church, Pottsville.
He served in the Army as a Tech 5 during World War II.
He was a member of Pine Grove VFW.
Surviving are three sons, William Young of Denver, Harry Young of Pine Grove, and David Young of Port Carbon; a daughter, Kathleen Brown of Pottsville; three brothers, Milton Young of Philadelphia, Donald Young of Florida, and Bruce Young of New Jersey; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Sunday, April 10, at Ebling-Stabingas Funeral Home Inc., Cressona, with the Rev. Bonnie Yeager officiating. Interment will be private in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.

Edith R. Burrows
Edith R. Burrows, 84, of Millersburg and a resident at Susquehanna Lutheran Village, died Saturday, April 2, 2005, at the village.
Born in Elizabethville, June 17, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Issac J. and Carrie Hassinger Reisch.
She was a retired factory worker at the former Kinney Shoe Co, . in Millersburg, and was a member of Hebron U.M. Church in Millersburg.
She was preceded in death by a sisters, Gertrude Brightbill, Sarah Troutman, and Anna Lentz; and brothers, Paul Reisch and Ernest Reisch.
Surviving are two daughters, Nancy A. Schreffler of Millersburg and Sandra K. Bowman of Halifax; a sister, Mary Radel of Dauphin; two brothers, Issac Reisch of Hummelstown and Robert R. Reisch of Amissville, VA; four grandchildren; and eight great- grandchildren.
Services will be held at Hebron United Methodist Church on Friday, April 8, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Alison Grove officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Millersburg. Viewing will be from 10-11 a.m. Friday at the church.

Marlin L. Donofrio
Marlin Lee Donofrio, 67, of Pine Grove, died Monday, March 28, 2005, at home.
Born in Pine Grove Township, June 26, 1937, he was a son of the late Nick and Beatrice Hoy Donofrio.
He was a self-employed owner/operator of Buddy's RV and Sport shop, Tremont Road, Pine Grove.
He was preceded in death were a brother, Donald M. "Buddy"; two sisters, Jeannette Savidge and Connie Houck.
Surviving are his wife, the former Betty VanDuzer; two sons, Richard L. of North Carolina, and Larry of Pine Grove; a daughter, Lois Pate of North Carolina; two sisters, Shirley Ashman of Columbia, N.J., and Nancy Rhen of Pine Grove; and six grandchildren.

Nevin E. Dougherty
Nevin E. Dougherty, 77, formerly of Elizabethville, died Friday, March 25, 2005, in Dayton, Ohio, VA Hospital.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Annabe Doughtery, two sons, Nevin Jr. of Harsham and Gary of Halifax; a daughter, Debra of Westerville, OH; a brother Herb Dougherty of Acworth, GA; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial services and burial took place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

Itha H. Ferree
Itha H. Ferree, 95, formerly of Lykens, died Sunday, March 27, 2005, at the Jewish Home of Greater Harrisburg.
She was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Catherine Mumma Ferree. She was a 1927 graduate of the former Lykens High School; a graduate of Beckly College, Harrisburg; and the George Washington University, Washington, DC. She retired after 35 years of service with the US Department of Agriculture, Washington, DC, and 12 years of service with the Pennsylvania Department of Education, Harrisburg.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Myrtle, Hannah, and Martha; and by three brothers, Jacob, Benjamin, and Clarence.
Surviving are nieces; nephews; great-nieces; and great-nephews.
Graveside services were held Friday, April 1, at Calvary United Methodist Church, Wiconisco, with the Rev. Keith J. Schmuck officiating.
