Susan Workman
Susan Workman, 59, of Mt. Morris, died at 12:15 p.m. Monday, February 1, 2010, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
She was born June 24, 1950, a daughter of the late Austin Dow Anderson and Doris Jean Thorpe Anderson.
Mrs. Workman was a lifelong resident of Greene County.
She loved to hunt, fish, shoot firearms and spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Mrs. Workman was an electrician for Gerrick Electric in Morgantown.
Surviving are her husband, Charles J. Workman, whom she married July 8, 1978; a daughter, Jennifer Crislip of Mt. Morris; two sons, Matthew L. Harding of Clearwater, Fla., and Scott J. Workman of Mt. Morris; three grandchildren; two sisters, Joyce Douglass of Clearwater and Janet McCartney of Mt. Morris; two brothers, Bruce Anderson of Dilliner and Gary Anderson of Mt. Morris; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased is a granddaughter, Alishia Workman.
Kenneth Milburn
Kenneth Milburn, 63, of Sycamore, died Saturday, February 6, 2010, in his home.
He was born July 23, 1946, in Greensburg, a son of the late Raymond and Evelyn Harvey Milburn.
Mr. Milburn was a 1964 graduate of Norwin High School and received tool and die training at Westinghouse in Pittsburgh.
On January 20, 1970, he married Lynne Myers, who survives.
Mr. Milburn was a retired steelworker. He worked at Allegheny Jessop Mill of Allegheny Ludlum Steel.
He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He was also a taxidermist and enjoyed fishing.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Lonie Myers and wife Connie of Waynesburg; a daughter, Lorie Milburn and husband Jessie of Connellsville; two grandchildren; a brother, Gerald Milburn of Stahlstown; and two sisters, Karen Koring of Ligonier and Kim Milburn of Greensburg.
Amelia Rose Truntich
Amelia Rose Truntich, 85, of Bobtown, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2010, in Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
She was born May 5, 1924, in Republic, a daughter of the late Frank and Katharina Siva Truntich.
Following graduation in 1942 from Point Marion High School, she moved to Washington, D.C., where she worked for about 40 years as a secretary at the U.S. Department of the Treasury, the Office of Price Stabilization and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
After retirement, she returned to Bobtown, bought and renovated a house, and planted a garden that became her pride and joy. She shared the flowers from her garden with everyone she knew.
She was an active supporter of St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Bobtown, as well as numerous charities, missions, civic groups and individuals whom she never failed to give a helping hand.
An avid reader who was particularly fond of mystery and suspense novels, she also loved to travel, both here and abroad. She was an accomplished seamstress and took great pleasure in sewing clothes for family members. Decorating was another love and her beautiful floral arrangements were evidence of her artistry.
From a family of nine children, she is survived by four sisters, Ann Dloniak of Cleveland, Ohio, Albina Olson and Margaret Truntich, both of Waynesburg, and Donna O'Connell of Bobtown; and two brothers, Frank Truntich of Masontown and Paul Truntich of Crofton, Md. "Aunt Lou" will be forever remembered by her many loving nieces and nephews for her warm smile, infectious laugh, and her preparation of tasty home cooking for family gatherings. An adventurous cook, she tinkered with and improved many recipes, much to everyone's enjoyment. When asked about the ingredients, she always said "a little of this" or "a pinch of that."
Deceased are a sister, Kathleen Kelly; and a brother, George.

Carolyn E. Franczek, 87 of Nemacolin, Pa. and formerly of Carmichaels, Pa., died, Tuesday, February 2, 2010
Surviving are two sons, Joseph A. Franczek and Harold M. Franczek; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Inez "Gram" Rye Friend
Inez "Gram" Rye Friend, 84, of Uniontown, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, the heart and strength of our family, passed away Monday, February 1, 2010 in the Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, after a brief illness.
She was born November 21, 1925, in Dilliner, the daughter of the late William and Lillie Keener Williamson.
She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Troy C. Friend, Arnold Rye, and George Vukovich, sisters Marie McGee, Mary Fedikovich, Lona Cobosky, Irene Shuppe, brothers Osler and Virgil Williamson.
She was a member of the Central Christian Church, deeply religious, a highlight of her life was a trip to the Holy Land in 1992. Inez was an active member of many organizations in the community.
Those left to forever hold her in their hearts include her beloved sister, Violet Randazzo of New York; her daughters: Diane Fisher and Connie Rye of Uniontown; her beloved grandsons and granddaughter; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandson and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations may be made to the Central Christian Church, Uniontown Public Library, or a Veterans Organization of your choice.
Harriet (Gerry) Yoders McKeever
Harriet (Gerry) Yoders McKeever, age 76, of Carmichaels, died on February 2, 2010 at Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg.
Nancy Lee Wilson
Nancy Lee Wilson, 53, a lifelong resident of Masontown, Pa., entered into the presence of her Lord on Tuesday, February 2, 2010, following a long battle with cancer. She had been lovingly cared for at the Henry Clay Villa in Markleysburg by her family and friends through the last stage of her illness.
Born in Waynesburg, Pa. on September 6, 1956, she was a beloved daughter of the late James W. Wilson, Sr. and Virginia (Rosie) Wilson. Also preceding her in death were a brother, James "Bimbo" Wilson, Jr.; a nephew Adam Wilson; sister-in -law, Becki Wilson; and her grandparents, Ralph and Garnet Wilson and John and Edith Rosie.
A 1974 graduate of Albert Gallatin High School, she earned her Bachelor of Science and Nursing degrees from Penn State's Fayette Campus and had been employed at WVU Ruby Memorial Hospital as a registered nurse in the Cardiothoracic and Cardiac Stepdown Units.
A faithful member of the Masontown Brethren Church, Nancy was active in the Women's Missionary Society, and served as a Board Member and Camp Director of the Brethren Camp Peniel. She was a Charter member and past secretary of the Friendship Hill Association, member of the Masontown Centennial Committee, Friends of the Masontown Cemetery, Phi Kappa Psi Honor Society, and belonged to Board of Registered Nurses in both West Virginia and Pennsylvania.
Left to cherish her memory are her sisters and brother; Pamela Smith and Daniel Wilson, both of Titusville, Fla., and Kathleen Dowdy of Sarver, Pa.; a niece, Julie Smith Zetkulic; five nephews, Scott Smith, Luke, Tyler and Samuel Dowdy and Tad Wilson; and three great-nephews. Nancy will be missed by her many special friends who were very dear to her heart.

Ann Russo
Ann Russo, 74, of Bel Air, Md., died on January 26, 2010 at her home.
Born in Oil City, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Charles Albert Hunt, Sr. and Hazel Mabel Myers Hunt.
She graduated with Magna Cum Laude Honors from Waynesburg College, where she had also been voted May Queen, and from there, went on to teach for one year at Green Tree, Pa.
An avid reader and crossword puzzle worker, she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Russo is survived by her husband of 52 years, John V. Russo of Bel Air, Md.; son, William "Bill" J. Russo and wife, Terry, of Forest Hill, Md.; daughters, Deborah A. Reid of Bel Air, Md., Joni L. Droski and husband, Tim, of Holland, Mi., Susan P. Duley and husband, Jay, of Forest Hill, Md., and Mary Jo Lintz of Baltimore, Md.; brother, Charles A. Hunt Jr. and wife, Marlene, of Orchard Park, NY; and nine grandchildren.
David P. Troutman
David P. Troutman, 52, of Etters, died Friday, March 21, 2003, at his residence in Newberry Twp. Born November 8, 1950 in Lykens, he was a son of Jean L. Wagner Myers and the late Paul Troutman. He was employed as a Music Instructor and Instrument Salesman with various companies in the area. He was a member of the local favorite band the Chandells and numerous other local area bands. David was also a member of the Berrysburg Band. He was a former organist and choir director at Maranatha Bible Church in West Fairview and coached numerous youth sports.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife of 33 years, Peggy A. Hughes Troutman; a son, Capt. David S. Troutman of Lewisberry; a daughter, Tracy A. Burton of Etters; a sister, Cathy Troutman; his step-father, George H. Myers of Dover; a granddaughter; and a friend and Christian brother, Ellis L. Squires of Etters.
A graveside service was held Friday, March 28, at Cross Roads Cemetery, Fairview Township. Beaver-Urich Funeral Home, Inc., 305 W. Front Street, Lewisberry, was in charge of arrangements.
Kay L. Sidella
Kay L. Sidella, 59, of Pine Grove, died Monday. March 24, 2003, at Harrisburg Hospital. Born in Pottsville, March 12, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Norman and Ellen Yohe Bensinger. She was a 1962 graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School. She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald Bensinger, in 1983, and William Bensinger, in 2000.
Surviving are her husband of 25 years, Raymond S.; a son, Stephen of Myerstown; a daughter, Kelly Harper of San Antonio, Texas; two sisters, Shirley McCord and Karen Wink, both of Schuylkill Haven; a brother, Norman Bensinger of Mount Dora, Fla.; two grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
Services were private at the convenience of the family. Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home Inc., Schuylkill Haven, was in charge of arrangements.
Shirley E. Sheesley
Shirley E. Artz Sheesley, 77, of Tower City, died Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at her home. Born in MaryD, February 17, 1926, she was a daughter of the late James O. and Mary Ellen Thomas Lytle. She had worked as a presser in the garment industry and was a former hostess at Little Richard’s Rest, Mechanicsburg.
She was of the Lutheran faith; a member of the Mechanicsburg VFW; and the Eagles Club. She was precede in death by her first husband, Elvin Artz, who died in 1968; and her second husband, Robert Sheesley, who died in 1974; and a son, Alvin, who died in 1974.
Surviving are a daughter, Sharon L. Zimmerman of Tower City, with whom she resided; two sisters, Gertrude Armacost of Maryland, and Florence Bair of Reading; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Private services were held at the convenience of the family, with the Rev. Paul Baughman officiating. Interment was in the Methodist Cemetery, Williamstown. Catherine S. Schumer
Catherine S. Schumer, 62, Tower City, died Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Born in New York, July 7, 1941, she was a daughter of the late William and Edith Reiner Schumer. She was a graduate of Porter Tower High School.
She was a retired clerk for Pan American Airlines. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Tower City, and Williams Valley Senior Center and Senior Citizens. Surviving are an uncle, and several cousins.
Graveside services were held Thursday, March 27, in Greenwood Cemetery, RD Tower City, with The Rev. Linda Bonfiglio officiating. Dimon Funeral Homes Inc., Tower City, was in charge of arrangements.
Christopher D. Schreiber
Christopher D. Schreiber, 26, of Pitman, died Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at Shamokin Area Community Hospital, Coal Township. Born at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, Pottsville, May 4, 1976, he was a son of Dale L. and Kathryn R. Kukuk Schreiber of Pitman. He had attended Tri-Valley High School.
He was of the Lutheran faith and was a member of the Woodmen of the World Lodge, Camp 433, Pitman. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a son, Joshua C. Schreiber of Pitman; a maternal grandmother, Beatrice Kukuk of Pitman; a paternal grandmother, Sarah Schreiber of Valley View; a sister, brandy Ann Schreiber of Pitman; uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Valley View, with the Rev. Carl Shankweiler officiating. Interment was in the St. Paul’s E.C. Cemetery, RR 1, Pitman. The Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, RR 1, Klingerstown, was in charge of arrangements.
Kenneth W. Paul Jr.
Kenneth W. Paul, Jr., 51, of Halifax, died Wednesday, March 26, 2003, at home. Born in Halifax, he was a son of Kenneth and the late Betty Barrick Paul. He was employed at Supervalue in Harrisburg. He was a 1968 graduate of Halifax High School and attended Devry University in Chicago. He also attended Faith United Methodist Church in Fisherville and was a member of the American Billiards Association. He was a U.S. Army Veteran.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Bone Paul. Surviving in addition to his father and step-mother, Shirley of Halifax are eight children, Kurtis of Carlisle, Kirby of Halifax, Kristin Mundorf of New Cumberland, Kimberly of Newsmithville, Kreg, currently serving in the U.S. Army, Kendra Lebo of Halifax, Kody and Kylee, both at home; a sister, Bonnie of Hazelton; brothers, Clifford of Halifax, Dennis, a sister, Deb of Ohio and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Zimmerman.
Services were held at Hoover Funeral Homes, Inc., Millersburg, on Saturday, March 29. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery, Duncannon at the convenience of the family. Hoover Funeral Homes, Inc., Millersburg, was in charge of arrangements.
W. Donald D. Howerter
W. Donald D. Howerter, 79, of RR 1, Klingerstown, died Saturday, March 29, 2003, at his home. Born at RR 1, Klingerstown, on March 24, 1924, he was a son of the late Ervin and Alice S. Mattern Howerter. He was a retied farmer and laborer, having last been employed by the former Mandata Poultry Plant, RR 1, Herndon, retiring in 1983.
He was a member of the St. James Lutheran Church, Pitman, where he had been a former council member and choir member. He was a member of the PA Farm Bureau Association and the Mahantongo Fire Company, Pitman. He was a 1942 graduate of the former Pine Park High School, Leck Kill. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary M. Moyer Howerter, who died March 18; seven sisters, Edna Peifer, Alma Neyer, Ella Hoffman, L. Edith Sheetz, Ruth Engle, Hilda Ditty, and Laura Harman; and two brothers, Lester L. Howerter and Lawrence Howerter.
Surviving are three sons, William H., Richard A., and Frederick A. Howerter, all of RR 1, Klingerstown; nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 1, from St. James Lutheran Church, Pitman, with the Rev. Warren Egebo officiating. Interment was in Jacob's Cemetery, RR 1, Pitman. Faye M. Hoover
Faye M. Hoover, 91, of Elizabethville, formerly of Loyalton, died on Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at the Kepler Home, Inc., Elizabethville. Born on May 12, 1911 in Gratz, she was a daughter of the late Lewis and Sally Klinger Hoffman. She was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Lykens. She was preceded in death by her husband, Landon Hoover; and a son, Lou G. Hoover.
She is survived by a son, Bruce Hoover; two daughters, Carley Kahler and Barbara Deitrich, all of Loyalton; six grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Services were held on Friday, March 28, at her church. Interment was in St. Peter's "Hoffman's" Church Cemetery. Donald A. Hentz Sr.
Donald A. Hentz, Sr., 73, of Elizabethville, died Wednesday, March 26, 2003, at home. He retired from the United States Air Force after 23 years of service and from Reiff & Nestor Co., Lykens. He was a 1947 graduate of the former Lykens High School. He was preceded in death by three brothers, William, Paul and John and two sisters, Mary and Margaret.
Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Nellie M. Hentz; three sons, Donald, James and Gary Hentz; a daughter, Barbara Lafontaine; a sister, Anna Readinger; and five grandchildren. Memorial services with full military honors were held Friday, March 28, at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, with Father Robert S. Panza, officiating.
