Robert L. Peters
The Rev. Robert L. Peters, 84, of Waynesburg, died Thursday, November 4, 2010, in the home of his daughter in Rostraver Township.
He was born April 20, 1926, in Rivesville, W.Va., a son of the late Rev. Lester W. and Elizabeth Whitmire Peters.
On Jan. 1, 1955, he married Shirley Phillips Peters, who died July 19, 1998.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
In addition to his parents and his wife, deceased are two sisters, Virginia Peters and Jeannette Nowlin; and three brothers, Bill, John and Dr. Richard Peters.
Surviving are three daughters, Kimberlee Moninger of Nineveh, Karen Peters (Mary Sue Ramsden) of Forward Township and Kristen Jackson of Rostraver Township; six grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Mabel Peters of Waynesburg and Joyce Roberts of Carmichaels; and several nieces and nephews.
He was a graduate of Waynesburg High School, California State College, Wesley Theological Seminary and Peters College of Watchmaking in Washington, D.C.
Before following in his father's footsteps into the Methodist ministry, he and his wife opened a jewelry and watch/clock repair shop in Jefferson. Throughout his life, he did clock and watch repair on the side, and still enjoyed tinkering with timepieces until the time of his death.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Waynesburg, where he held the title of pastor emeritus. He also was a member of Greene County Historical Society and National Watchmakers Association. He was a founder of the former Hospice Volunteers of the Mon Valley.
The Rev. Peters was a longtime collector of antiques, clocks and watches. He served United Methodist churches in Meadow Lands, Houston, Blackburn in Sewickley Heights, Little Hill in Franklin Park, Donora and Clairton.
Upon retirement, he was often called upon to fill pulpits for various pastors and took pride in the fact that he had preached in every United Methodist church in Greene County.
After retiring from full-time ministry in 1989, he served as minister of visitation at First United Methodist Church of Waynesburg. Even after retiring from part-time ministry in 1999, the Rev. Peters continued to visit people in hospitals and nursing homes until his condition, following emergency surgery in August 2009, forced him to stop the part of his ministry that he loved so well.
His daughters and grandchildren will remember him as a kind and gentle man of unwavering faith who possessed a wonderful sense of humor. They will never forget his optimistic attitude, his cheerful disposition and friendly demeanor, his whistling and his hearty laughter.

Dorothy Cooke
Dorothy Cooke, 95, of Waynesburg, formerly of Holbrook (Center Township), Greene County, died at 10 p.m. Sunday, August 29, 2010, in the Respi Center-West, Waynesburg, after being in failing health for the past two years.
She was born October 26, 1914, in Amity, a daughter of the late Nathan and Lucy Jane Loar Hatfield, and had resided in the Holbrook area from 1941 until moving to Waynesburg in 2007.
Mrs. Cooke was a member of Trinity Independent Baptist Church in Waynesburg.
She enjoyed gardening and yard work as long as her health permitted.
Mrs. Cooke was a member of the West Greene senior citizens.
On January 10, 1940, she married Melvin Cooke, who died February 8, 2010.
Surviving are three sons, Bob, husband of Barbara Cooke of Blacksville, W.Va., and Jack, husband of Janice Cooke, and Jerry, husband of Linda Cooke, both of Waynesburg; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, are a grandson, Scott Cooke; a great-granddaughter, Desiree Brosovich; a brother, John Hatfield; five sisters, Neva Hatfield, Sarah Elliott, Pearl Sanders, Florence Miller (twin) and Ruth Gray and a sister who died in infancy; and a half sister, J.N. "Minnie" Mitchell.
Mrs. Cooke was the last of her immediate family.
Clare Ann Buday Marshall
Clare Ann Buday Marshall, 85, of Jefferson, passed away Sunday, August 29, 2010, in her home, with her loving family by her side.
She was the beloved wife of the late Albert "Huck" Marshall and mother of two daughters.
She was born October 13, 1924, in Vestaburg, a daughter of the late Joseph Paul and Anna Havas Buday.
Mrs. Marshall was a 1942 graduate of East Bethlehem High School.
She lived in Jefferson for 56 years.
On June 28, 1952, she married Albert "Huck" Marshall.
She enjoyed gardening and loved flowers of all types. Education was very important to her, and this was evidenced in her daily life. Mrs. Marshall had a love for learning and was an avid reader.
Surviving are her daughters, Marian C. Marshall of Jersey City, N.J., and Joan E. (Alan) Marshall Urtubia of Allen, Texas. Also surviving are two sisters, Martha Munoz of Torrance, Calif., and Lucille Makel of Vestaburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Deceased are brothers and sisters Tom Buday, Ann Buday Jova, Catherine Buday Vasko, Helen Buday, Mary Buday Gary, John Buday and Eleanor Buday Spiegel.
Albert T. Falcon Sr.
Albert T. "Tiny" Falcon Sr., 65, of Millsboro, died unexpectedly Sunday, August 29, 2010, in his home.
He was born October 2, 1944, in Greene County, a son of the late James and Rita Chiccarelli Falcon.
Mr. Falcon was an auto body technician.
He was a member of Hanson Cole American Legion Post 391 of Fredericktown and the Owls Club.
Surviving are a son, Albert T. Falcon (Misty) of Fredericktown; four grandchildren; three brothers, Ronald Falcon of Clarksville and James Falcon and Bill Falcon, both of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
Mae E. Richardson
Mae E. Richardson, 79, formerly of Holbrook, died at 11 a.m. Monday, August 30, 2010, in the home of her sister, Jo Ann Paolino of Waynesburg, after being seriously ill for the past three months.
She was born March 3, 1931, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Lawrence Edward and Mable Eleanore Colwell Benkart.
Mrs. Richardson had resided in Pittsburgh all her life prior to moving to Greene County in 1975.
She attended the former Macedonia Baptist Church and was a member of Valley Chapel United Methodist Church in Holbrook.
Mrs. Richardson was a graduate of Perry High School in Pittsburgh.
She was a veteran of the Korean conflict, serving with the U.S. Marines Corps. She was a member and former adjutant of the Tri-County Leathernecks.
Mrs. Richardson was an avid volunteer for the Toys For Tots program.
She was a member of Waynesburg Moose Lodge and the former Aleppo Grange.
On December 19, 1959, she married Lester Leroy Richardson Sr., who survives.
Also surviving are four sons, David M. Richardson of Pittsburgh, Lester L. Richardson Jr., husband of Alice Richardson of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Phillip C., husband of Shelly Richardson, and John W., husband of Diane Richardson, both of Holbrook; five daughters, Nance Richardson of Port Richie, Fla., Carol Ann Hurley and Doris Jean Turkovich, both of New Salem, Donna Lynn Richardson of Summerfield, Ohio, and Media Sarah Richardson of Carlisle; 28 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are four brothers, Lawrence (Barney), David, Ernest and Richard Benkart; and a sister, Pola Herman.

Bradley G. Furia
Bradley G. Furia, 65, of Northport, N.Y., formerly of Greensboro, died unexpectedly Tuesday, August 31, 2010.
He was born in Waynesburg September 15, 1944, a son of Betty Phillips Furia of Greensboro and the late Angelo "Geno" Furia.
A 1962 graduate of Mapletown High School, he served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam conflict.
On May 29, 1965, he married his soulmate, Mary Cormack Furia.
Following his discharge from the army, he was employed as a lineman for the former West Penn Power Co. in Brownsville. He also spent many years working as an electrician at the Volkswagen plant in New Stanton. In later years, he worked for Diglio Electric in the Long Island area, after moving to New York in 1993. He also managed a family-owned and operated business, F&D Sanitation, located in Greensboro, until the time of his retirement.
He was an avid outdoor enthusiast and steward of nature. He recently built a home in the mountains that he loved and was looking forward to spending time there with his family and friends. He greatly enjoyed roasting marshmallows on the fire and feeding the wildlife that surrounded him, especially a small buck named Jerky that would visit him daily for special molasses corn.
In addition to his mother, surviving are a daughter, Kristen Furia, and grandson, both of Hazelton, W.Va.; a sister, Jan Dankovich of Greensboro; and a niece and husband, and their new baby, all of Washington, D.C.
He also leaves friends Jean Satoski and William Taggard, both of Northport.
His wife, Mary, father Geno and nephew Geoffrey M. Dankovich are deceased.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Greene County Humane Society, the local chapter of the ASPCA, World Wildlife Federation or any organization that promotes the humane treatment of animals and/or nature conservation.
Betty Ann Cybak Mallory
Betty Ann Cybak Mallory, 52, of Carmichaels, died Wednesday, September 1, 2010, in her home.
She was born October 3, 1957, in Carmichaels, a daughter of the late Joseph Sr. and Thelma Louise Bowser Cybak.
She was a former employee of Health Mart and Gabler Drug Co. and was a member of Carmichaels American Legion Women's Auxiliary.
Mrs. Mallory attended First Christian Church in Carmichaels.
Surviving are two brothers, Ira F. (Skip) Cybak and wife Diane and Joseph Cybak Jr. and wife Kate, both of Carmichaels; a brother-in-law, Andy Babyak of Carmichaels; three nieces; and two nephews.
A sister, Catherine L. Cybak-Babyak, is deceased.
Emogene Riley
Emogene (Emma) Riley, 72, of Carmichaels, died at 4:35 p.m., Tuesday, August 31, 2010, in Washington Hospital, after a brief illness.
She was born January 19, 1938, in Cumberland Township, Greene County, a daughter of the late Daniel Craft and Mildred Helmick Ewart and a stepdaughter of Delores Ewart of Carmichaels.
Mrs. Riley resided in Cumberland Township most of her life.
She was a member of Greene Valley Presbyterian Church of Carmichaels and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 22, Chapter 318, of Washington.
Mrs. Riley was an avid bingo player and enjoyed cooking and baking.
She cherished her family, especially her grandchildren and great-granddaughter.
On June 6, 1961, in Newport News, Va., she married Bruce M. Riley Jr., who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Bruce "Bubba" Riley and David L. Riley Sr. and wife Carletta, both of Carmichaels, and Gary L. Riley Sr. of Morgantown, W.Va.; two daughters, Pamela J. Dobish and Melanie J. Coss and husband R.J., both of Carmichaels; nine grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; seven brothers, Ronald Ewart of Newville, Kenneth Ewart and wife Phyllis of Hampton, Va., Allen Ewart and wife Connie of Kent, Ohio, Ralph Ewart and wife Diane of Carmichaels, Dennis Ewart and wife Patty of Clarksville, Jeff Ewart and wife Barb of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and John Ewart and wife Shari of Carmichaels; four sisters, Carol Osborne and husband Michael "Oz" of Cuyahoga Falls, Donna Williams and husband Evan and Patty Reynolds and husband James, both of Carmichaels, and Nancy Harbarger of Crucible; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins.

Clarence Bradley Wade Jr.
Clarence Bradley Wade Jr., 43, of Carmichaels, formerly of Dilliner, passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 31, 2010, in his home.
He was born May 16, 1967, in Waynesburg, a son of Clarence and Judith Smithley Wade of Dilliner.
A 1986 graduate of Mapletown High School, he had formerly worked for Jordan's Auto in Dilliner.
In addition to his parents, surviving are his only child, Rebecca Marie Wade of Farmington; a sister, Carla (Wade) Richter of Dilliner; a niece; a nephew; and the following loving aunts and uncles, Carl Wade Jr., Walter and Linda Smithley, John and Bonnie Smithley and Kenneth and Judy Smithley and their families.
He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Deceased are a brother, Marlin Wade, whom he dearly loved, who died in 2003; and his grandparents, Carl and Anna Wade and Mary Smithley and John Smithley.
