Kathleen Marie Colcombe
Kathleen Marie Colcombe, 67, of Marianna, Amwell Township, died at 4:20 p.m. Saturday, October 9, 2010, in her home.
She was born Monday, December 14, 1942, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Robert and Marie Cornetti Heavill.
Mrs. Colcombe was a resident of Amwell Township for 27 years.
She was a member of St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church and its Bible study. She was a Third Order Secular Franciscan belonging to Immaculate Heart of Mary Fraternity of Washington.
Mrs. Colcombe attended Mt. Mercy College and later graduated from Waynesburg College with an associate's degree in social work, all while raising 11 children at home. In addition to being a homemaker, she was a social services minister of Sts. Mary and Ann Catholic Church, Marianna. She also was a teacher's aide at John F. Kennedy Catholic School, Washington, and Trinity East Elementary School, South Strabane Township.
Her husband, Al Colcombe, whom she married June 23, 1962, survives.
Also surviving are 11 children and their spouses, Donna and husband Denis Kelsch of Scottsdale, Ariz., Al and wife Julie Colcombe of Export, Mike and wife Dianna Colcombe of Kennesaw, Ga., Lisa Colcombe of Washington, Doug and wife Christine Colcombe of North Huntingdon, Dan and wife Erin Colcombe of Derry, Debbie and husband Bob Sherwin of Harrison City, Brian and wife Janice Colcombe of Canton, Ohio, Kara and husband Steve Milinovich of Fairmont, W.Va., Lynn and husband Brandon Meyer of Marianna and Krista and husband Mark Hanrahan of Steubenville, Ohio; 31 grandchildren; and a brother, Robert and wife Brenda Heavill of California.

John A. Stefanik
John A. Stefanik, 91, of Clarksville, died Wednesday, October 6, 2010, in Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg.
He was born May 31, 1919, in Luxor, a son of the late Michael and Anna Simonik Stefanik.
Mr. Stefanik was a 1938 graduate of Jefferson High School and a 1942 graduate of Waynesburg College and received his master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1946.
Mr. Stefanik was a skilled high school football player who earned a full scholarship at Waynesburg College. He was well-known for playing for Waynesburg College in the first nationally televised football game at Randall's Island on September 30, 1939, against Fordham University. The Yellow Jackets team coached by Frank Wolf made the trip to New York in private cars. His roommate, Bobby Brooks, scored the first touchdown, and Mr. Stefanik followed with the extra point, making television history.
He later received a letter from the National Football League for a tryout for the Philadelphia Eagles. He declined the offer and began his teaching and coaching career.
He was a teacher for 22 years at Greensburg Area High School and 17 years at Jefferson-Morgan High School. Also at Greensburg Area High School, he was a well-known and respected coach in football for 22 years, wrestling for 12 years and track for three years.
Mr. Stefanik was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church of St. Oliver Plunket Parish in Fredericktown, Jefferson-Morgan Professional Association, Greene County Retired Teachers Association, Pennsylvania State Education Association and National Education Association.
On May 20, 1944, in Holy Trinity Church, Washington, he married Margaret (Peg) Adamik, who died June 4, 1984.
Surviving are a sister, Elizabeth (Liz) Sibenick of Woodland Hills, Calif.; five nieces; five nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two brothers, Michael "Suey" Stefanik and Joseph Stefanik; three sisters, Pauline Cipcic, Mary Louise Stefanik and Margaret Stefanik; and two nieces, Patty Diamond and Nancy Reed.

Gregory Lyons Bilonick I
Gregory Lyons Bilonick I, age 56, of Maidsville, W.Va., and formerly of Bobtown, passed away unexpectedly Friday, October 8, 2010, in the Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
Born June 17, 1954 in Brownsville, Pa., he was a son of Ruth Lyons Bilonick of Bobtown, and the late Frank A. Bilonick.
A 1975 graduate of Western Penna. School for the Deaf, he was an electrician for Progressive Industries in Westover, W.Va. for the past 34 years. He enjoyed woodworking, was an avid fan of the Steelers and Mountaineers, and was a member of the Fairmont Chapter of the Association for the Deaf.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife, Connie (Condit) Bilonick; a son, Gregory Lyons Bilonick, II, at home; a sister, Suzanne Lamke of Easton, Pa.; and two brothers, Timothy Bilonick of Morgantown, and Samuel Bilonick of Uniontown; and by many friends.
Also deceased is a brother, Michael Bilonick.

Billie Jones Spezze
Billie Jones Spezze, 82, of Farmington, MI, died June 26, 2010 of heart failure.
Billie was born June 26, 1927, in Greene County, the daughter of William and Helen Church Jones.
She attended grade school and high school in Waynesburg, before moving to Michigan in 1944 and graduating from Detroit high school.
She married Wes Smith of Royal Oaks, MI who died in 1971. In 1994 she married Sam Spezze, who survives.
Also surviving is a daughter, Jackie; three sons, Terry, Richard and Brian Smith of Michigan; two sisters, Bette of Nevada and Bobbie Dahl of New Jersey; and 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Dwight Mark "Bugs" Rush
Dwight Mark "Bugs" Rush, 62, born in Waynesburg, died from an extended illness in Wytheville, Virginia on Friday, October 1, 2010, with friends and family by his side.
He is survived by his wife Suzanne, children Rebecca and Neil of North Carolina, grandson Owen, and siblings Ed, Rosalee, Scarlett, Scottie, Joann and Dave; and 26 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by father Ed Rush and mother Madolyn Scott, brother Dick and sister Sara.
Russell M. Oliver Sr.,
Russell M. Oliver Sr., 74, of Washington, died Saturday, October 30, 2010, in Southmont of Presbyterian SeniorCare, Washington.
He was born May 8, 1936, in Springhill Township, Greene County, a son of John and Margaret Hartley Jesse.
Mr. Oliver served in the U.S. Army.
He was a truck driver for BP Oil Co. for many years, a member of the National Rifle Association and an avid hunter.
Surviving are four sons, Jeff (Cherise) Oliver of Ohio, Jim (Cheryl) Oliver of Washington, John (Tonia) Oliver of McKees Rocks and Russell Oliver Jr. of Washington; a brother, Clarence Oliver of Uniontown; a sister, Gladys (Louie) Kaposy of Avella; and four grandchildren, Alex, Nick, Anakin and Christian.
Betty Louise Anderson
Betty Louise Anderson, 86, formerly of Springhill Township, Greene County, died at 5:45 p.m. Sunday, October 31, 2010, in Fosnight of Valencia Personal Care Home, Gibsonia, after being in failing health for the past several years.
She was born September 23, 1924, in Springhill Township, a daughter of the late Walter and Grace Cedelia Wright Moore.
Mrs. Anderson resided in Raccoon Township for several years, prior to returning to Greene County in the 1980s.
She attended Mt. Carmel Church of God as a child and upon returning to Greene County.
Mrs. Anderson enjoyed reading about the U.S. presidents, collecting carnival glassware, needlepoint and all pets.
On January 11, 1945, she married Dorland Ray Anderson, who died July 4, 1990.
Surviving are a daughter, Sondra Sue Zuback of Raccoon Township; two sons, Austin R., husband of Linda Anderson of Mars, and Dorland W., husband of Debra Anderson of Washington; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was the last of her immediate family.

Victor F. Lapkowicz
Victor F. Lapkowicz, 87, of Carmichaels, died Monday, November 1, 2010, in Southwest Regional Medical Center, Waynesburg.
He was born January 23, 1923, in McKeesport, a son of the late Policarp and Magdalena Kobel Lapkowicz.
Mr. Lapkowicz served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard the USS Biloxi in the Pacific.
On November 23, 1946, he married Julia Rossi, who survives.
Mr. Lapkowicz was a beloved history teacher for Carmichaels Area School District, retiring in 1990 after 39 years of service. He will be remembered by his students as a teacher who cared and made history fun.
After his family, his true passion was football. He played four years at Waynesburg College, serving as team captain in 1949. His coaching career spanned 36 years and concluded with an induction in the Tri-County Coach's Association Hall of Fame. After coaching, he turned his energies to exercising, and many will remember his weekly routine of running or biking the roads of Greene County.
He was a member of St. Hugh Roman Catholic Church, Carmichaels.
In addition to his wife, surviving are three children, Dr. Victor W. Lapkowicz and wife Susan of Beallsville, Thomas J. Lapkowicz and wife Ann Marie of Harrisburg and Joe Lapkowicz and wife Eileen of Carmichaels; and 13 grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, deceased are two brothers, Anthony and Joseph "Jocko" Lapkowicz, and a grandson, Michael.

John Thomas "Tom" Reinhart
John Reinhart, 60, who was self-employed drilling water wells and delivering newspapers, of Jefferson, Pa., died Tuesday, November 2, 2010.
Surviving, in addition to his father, Robert "Bob" Reinhart, are his fiancee, Anita Henderson; five children, Amber and Erica Reinhart, Angel Henderson, Karin Barney and Scott Patterson; three grandchildren; a brother, Robert Reinhart, Jr.; and two nephews and a niece.
Frances Stull
Frances Stull, 82, of Carmichaels, died Tuesday, November 2, 2010, in Southwest Regional Medical Center, Waynesburg.
Mrs. Stull was born March 7, 1928, in Nemacolin, a daughter of the late John and Suzanne Billicak Kasinec.
Surviving are her husband, Larry J. Stull; a son, Robert Dennis Blouse of Eighty Four; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth Johns of Carmichaels.
In addition to her parents, deceased are a brother, Robert Kasinec, and a brother-in-law, Paul Johns.
Mrs. Stull was employed by Richey's Bakery in Uniontown as a bookkeeper until her retirement.
She loved music and playing the organ.
Mrs. Stull was a devoted member of the Carmichaels Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses for many years.
George F. Fletcher
George F. Fletcher, 57, of Jefferson, died Tuesday, November 2, 2010, in Southwest Regional Medical Center, Waynesburg.
He was born October 7, 1953, in Washington, D.C., a son of the late Charles E. Fletcher and Emma Baggett Wilson.
Mr. Fletcher served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and attained the rank of sergeant.
He lived most of his life in Florida and had worked as the maintenance supervisor for First Reality Co. Mr. Fletcher then moved back to Greene County to be with his mother in Jefferson.
He was a member of Jefferson Church of the Nazarene.
Mr. Fletcher enjoyed fishing on the Professional Bass Tour, hunting, softball and weightlifting.
Surviving are his former wife, Rhonda Jean Bass of Orlando, Fla.; a daughter, Jennifer Lee Fletcher Willows and husband Adam of Orlando; two sisters, Jean Meadows and husband Bob of Carmichaels and Kelli Lancaster of Waynesburg; a brother, Charles "Buck" Fletcher of Moorehouse, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was expecting the birth of triplet grandchildren.
Deceased is an infant brother, Sydney Martin Baggett.
