Frank Guttman
North Side

Frank Guttman, 86, of North Side, died Monday, July 31, 2000, in Vincentian Regency on Babcock Blvd. He was the husband of the late Hilda Guttman. Mr. Guttman is survived by three daughters , Sylvia Krangel of West Chester, Pa., Annette McGregor of Allison Park and Betty Null of Ross; one son, Ron Guttman of Spring Hill; one sister, Angela Schilling of Germany; and seven grandchildren. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in SCHELLHAAS FUNERAL HOME, INC., 707 East St., North Side. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home with Pastor Paul Kokenda officiating. Burial will be in Union Dale Cemetery.

Harry F. Herminzek
Latrobe

Harry F. Herminzek, 73, of Latrobe, died Monday, July 31, 2000, in Latrobe Area Hospital. Born Feb. 15, 1927, in Latrobe, he was a son of the late Harry V. and Mary Armel Herminzek. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed by Latrobe Steel Co. with 39 years of service. He was also a television repairman in the Latrobe area. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lanora Jean Zorzi Herminzek and a brother, Tom Herminzek. He is survived by two sons , Dana Richard Herminzek and his wife, Dorothy, of Latrobe, and Robert Keith Herminzek of Latrobe; a daughter, Ivy Lynn Herminzek of Latrobe; and a sister, Phyllis Geary of Colorado. There are no public visitations. Services and interment were private. The JOHN J. LOPATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 601 Weldon St., Latrobe, is in charge of arrangements.

Catherine A. (Ruddell) Hirtz
Baldwin

Catherine A. (Ruddell) Hirtz of Baldwin, died on Saturday, July 29, 2000. She is survived by her husband, Richard W. Hirtz; a daughter, Margaret Piskor; grandchildren Catherine Kwiatkowski and Emil Piscor Jr.; great-grandchildren, Raeleen and Annalee Kwiatkowski; one sister, Rose Chuha; one brother, Thoas Ruddell. Friends received from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in CIESLAK & TATKO FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2935 Brownsville Road, Brentwood, where there will be a funeral prayer at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday. A Christian Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Albert the Great Church.

Joseph M. Hiznaneck
Greensburg

Joseph M. Hiznaneck, of Greensburg, died Sunday, July 30, 2000. Born in Greensburg, he was a son of Joseph and Florence Mangione Hiznaneck of Greensburg. He was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral in Greensburg. He had been employed as controller by Shanefelter Industries in Uniontown. He was also the keyboardist for O Ring Jones. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Ellen McDermott Hiznaneck; a daughter, Michelle Keenan of Charlotte, N.C.; and a brother, Stephen G. Hiznaneck of Johnstown. Relatives and friends will be received at the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME INC., 409 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, (724) 837-0020, www.pantalone.com, Wednesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home Thursday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, Greensburg. Florence E. Johnson
Herminie

Florence E. Johnson, 95, of Herminie (Keystone), died Sunday, July 30, 2000, at the Hempfield Manor, Hempfield Township. She was born Jan. 19, 1905, in Luxor, Pa., a daughter of the late William and Melinda (Hixenbaugh) Thomas. Mrs. Johnson was a piano teacher, she taught the piano in her home for over 40 years. Mrs. Johnson was the oldest member of the Herminie United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George E. Johnson, in 1966; a brother, William Thomas; and a granddaughter, Karen Lash Coleman. Mrs. Johnson is survived by her son, George Johnson of Pittsburgh; a daughter, Mrs. Betty Lash and her husband, the Rev. Donald Lash, of Greensburg; also four grandchildren, Christopher and Daniel Lash, and Barbara and Kerri Johnson; and a great-grandson, Corey Lash. Friends were received Tuesday at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., Herminie, where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m., with Pastor Chuck F. Hildbold Jr., officiating.

Rol F. Kinney
Sewickley

Rol F. Kinney, 71, of Sewickley, on Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000. Beloved husband for 46 years of Verona Wilson Kinney. Father of Kim Kinney Cook and her husband, Timothy C. Cook, and Craig S. Kinney and his wife, Frances Miller Kinney. Proud grandfather of Channing, Emma, and Chloe Cook, and Ashton and Meredith Kinney. Visitation Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at COPELAND'S SEWICKLEY-IRVINE CHAPEL, 702 Beaver St. Memorial service Friday 1:30 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church of Sewickley, 414 Grant St. Mr. Kinney was president of S.P. Kinney Engineers Inc. He was a member of the American Iron and Steel Institute, the Eastern States Blast Furnace and Coke Oven, the Duquesne Club, Allegheny Country Club, Chartiers Country Club, Long Boat Key Club, Edgeworth Club, PAA, and the Presbyterian Church of Sewickley. Memorials may be made in his name to the Sewickley Academy, Academy Avenue, Sewickley, PA 15143.

William Kolodzej, of Brentwood, died on Monday, July 31, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Margaret (Strisovsky) Kolodzej; three daughters , Albina Senko, Helen Sharrer, and Margaret Kowalski; 9 grandchildren, Thaddeus, Matthew, and Donna Senko, Katherine Yarussi, Christine Mitchell, Randy and Valerie Sharrer, Kevin and Laura Kowalski; three great-grandchildren, Matthew, Hillary, and Jonette Senko. He was preceded in death by a sister, Albina Gontkovic, a brother, John Kolodzej, and a grandson John Senko. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. WEDNESDAY ONLY in CIESLAK & TATKO FUNERAL HOME INC., 2935 Brownsville Road, Brentwood, where a funeral prayer will be at 9:15 a.m. Thursday. Helen C. Kornides
Hostetter

Helen C. Kornides, 75, of Hostetter, died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000, in Latrobe Area Hospital. Born March 26, 1925, in Hostetter, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary Sedlacko Kornides. She was a member of St. Cecilia Church in Whitney, where she belonged to the senior choir and had served as a Sunday collection accountant for many years. Prior to retirement, she was a seamstress at the S.P. Reed Company, Troutman's, and The Bon-Ton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a nephew, Kevin Demyan; and a brother-in-law, Richard Demyan. She is survived by two brothers and four sisters , Mary Kornides and Bernard Kornides, with whom she made her home, John Kornides and his wife, Florence, of Latrobe, Rita Martin and her husband, Robert, of Greensburg, Regina Haas and her husband, Donald, of Latrobe and Alma Demyan of Latrobe. She is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the JOHN J. LOPATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 601 Weldon St., Latrobe. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Cecilia Church with the Rev. Chad Ficorilli, O.S.B., as celebrant. Interment in St. Vincent Cemetery, Unity Township.

William F. Leasure
Pittsburgh

William F. "Frank" Leasure, 94, of Pittsburgh, died Sunday, July 23, 2000, at his home. Born March 12, 1906, in Madison, Pa., a son of the late Hugh Logan and Mary Martha Fisher Leasure. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Peoples Natural Gas Co. as chief electrician. He was a member of the Bower Hill Community Church in Mt. Lebanon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters , Grace Achtzehn and Margaret Leasure; and a brother, Fred Leasure. Surviving are his wife of 67 years, E. Marie Martin Leasure; a son, Byron D. Leasure of Perkasie, Pa.; a daughter, Vivian L. Fondy of Pittsburgh; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 5, at 1 p.m. in the Bower Hill Community Church, 70 Moffett St., Mt. Lebanon, with Dr. David Ensign officiating. Private interment will be in the Madison Union Cemetery, Madison. Family requests no flowers and suggests donations be made to the Bower Hill Community Church, 70 Moffett St., Pittsburgh, PA 15243, in memory of William F. Leasure.

Joseph D. Mance
White Valley

Joseph D. Mance, 86, of White Valley, died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000. Born Sept. 11, 1913, in East Pittsburgh, a son of the late Michael and Mary Lezar Mance. Joseph was a former contractor and retired in 1978 as a laboratory technician for Westinghouse Electric Corp. He was awarded a citizenship award by Westinghouse Electric for outstanding service to his community. He was a member of St. John Baptist de La Salle Church, Delmont, and was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Westmoreland County Firemen's Association, White Valley Volunteer Fire Department, White Valley AMVETS Post #85, Home Association, White Valley Athletic and Social Club, and the Westinghouse Veterans Employee Association. Mr. Mance was well-known to the Three Rivers Tool Collectors Association and was also an avid antique tool collector and widely known as the "Tool Man" of the Three Rivers Tool Collectors. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Sara Lotinsky Mance; a daughter, Mary Ann and her husband, Donald Miller, of Bethel Park; sons , Joseph Robert and his wife, Dolores Mance, of White Valley, Richard Michael and his wife, Marlene Mance, of Davidsonville, Md., James George and his wife, Diane Mance, of Yorba, Calif., and a daughter, Claudia P. and her husband, Lawrence Canobbio, of White Valley; two brothers , Nick and his wife, Josephine Mance, and Michael Jr. and his wife, Esther Mance, both of Murrysville; and a sister, Ann Koerner of Charleroi; also 9 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the EDWIN N. WOLFE FUNERAL HOME INC., Export, Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 10:30 a.m. in St. John Baptist de la Salle Church, Delmont. Interment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.

Lawrence B. McCabe, 60, of Penn Hills, on Monday, July 31, 2000. Beloved husband of Geraldine A. (Gigliotti); Father of John J., Michelle, Victoria McCabe, Andrea Brenner and the late Christine McCabe; grandfather of Melissa, Chuck and Stephanie; brother of Marjorie Evans; son of the late John J. (Sonny) and Golden McCabe; son-in-law of Emma and Joseph Gigliotti. Larry was a past president of the Penn Hills Lions Club, a 38 year member of the Thad Stevens Volunteer Fire Department, member of Penn Hills Chamber of Commerce, Orpheus Singing Society, the Toastmasters, member of St. Bartholomew Church Parish Council and Chairman of the Church Festival Committee. Visitation from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday in the LAWRENCE B. McCABE FUNERAL HOME, 10940 Frankstown Road, Penn Hills.
